Logistics:There a plenty of parking lots very close to this restaurant. The Passport app allows you to pay and extend your parking if need be.This place is busy. At 10:00 the line was not out the door but there were a few people waiting for their orders and a few people ahead of us in line. It was steady for the 20 minutes or so that we were there. My son and I thought we were going to eat there, but then decided not to because there was an a table available… If we had just waited, one would’ve been available by the time our food was ready. The Bagels:Both my son and I ordered Everything bagels with cream cheese. I would like to say that I wish we were more adventurous… There looked to be some good options. But the bagels that we ordered were absolutely wonderful. They were dense and chewy with a nice crust on the outside. They were flavorful and delicious.A Little Bit More:One of the not so great things about living in Asheville was that we didn’t have a bagel shop after New York bagels closed. (I mean we’ve had a Bruggers...but it’s not the same.) I am so thankful that chef Katie Button decided to open this bagel shop. Speaking of which, the chef was there overseeing things while we were there. She runs a calm, smooth kitchen. No yelling. And she’s so nice and pretty and cooks ridiculously good food. It was nice to shake her hand and say hi & thanks.

Such a cool spot to go in and grab bagels to go or order a sandwich and eat in. We had their everything bagel, which the seasoning was perfection. Usually smoked salmon comes with bagels but they had smoked trout. It was different and delicious. Would definitely go back.

Though my dear friend and I discovered this location yesterday,, it was what I call a delightful adventure ! The line that extended out the door was a constant move forward to our order. Besides, there were interesting people met along the route. We ordered egg & cheese bagels, plus, a few to carry out. (They lovingly wrap each bagel in tiny see-through bags to go ! Adorable.) Though seating was limited, eating in was easy, with a constant flow coming and going. The gentleman at the counter was helpful & efficient with orders ! The bagel melted in my mouth, like no other bagel ! You cant go wrong with bagels & friends !!

We had a great first experience with Button & Co this morning. Friendly and helpful staff, very clean and inviting atmosphere, and most importantly, delicious food. We tried the everything bagels with plain cream cheese, and they were perfect. We can be pretty picky about cream cheese, and the product they carry from Three Graces Dairy was amazing. We are definitely looking forward to returning to sample their breakfast sandwiches and to pick up some bagels for home!

Although they are newly opened and are probably more swamped than usual, the bagels are amazing, & the staff friendly. Drip coffee was nice and strong, ingredients were fresh and tasty and the interior is clean and well managed. Only criticism is the bagels we had were a little on the stiff, chewy side, so better for eating with a spread than in a sandwich. Easily fixed by toasting the bagels meant for sandwiches a little more?

I’m hopeful but not convinced. I’m picky and from the only place in the world that makes good bagels- Long Island. The everything bagel was mostly just covered in poppy seeds and crust was too hard that I cut my mouth. The pecan butter was good but half had way too much on it. The second half had a normal amount on it. I will be back to try some of the sandwiches and give the other bagels a try and hopefully change this to a 5 Star 👍🏻

Almost everything they use is either compostable or recyclable. Great vibe, small quiet place. If you prefer darker roasts for coffee like I do, I wouldnt recommend theirs as its a much lighter roast and tasted sour and acidic to me. I wouldnt recommend eating any bagels with cream cheese if youre getting them to go as their cream cheese, albeit delicious, is very soft and tends to go everywhere and cause quite a mess, I would strongly recommend eating in if you have the time. Bagels were fantastic and made from scratch, highly recommended if youre in the mood for a bagel in Asheville.

Absolutely delicious! A coworker brought in a dozen of their Everything bagels a few weeks ago and I was blown away. I finally got the chance to go in myself this morning and ordered a Fig and Sorghum bagel, with Plant Vegan Cream Cheese - it was delicious! Asheville has not had a good bagel place in a very long time, and as someone who loves bagels, this is a home run! Not only is the food fantastic, but their commitment to using local ingredients and to partner with local food producers makes them even better!I cant not mention that the coffee is good too! They serve Counter Culture roasts, brewed to perfection.

Food was ok, but WAY overpriced. $11+ for a simple sausage, egg and cheese bagel and an orange juice has no value. It’s way overpriced. It probably is the best bagel in Asheville, but it’s not NYC.. so that’s not saying much. It’s clear that the Button’s are using this as their cash machine. Was disappointed due to the prices.

I’m from the NYC/NJ area and know good bagels. I never eat bagels in NC because they are normally just gross— Button is the complete exception! Crisp exterior. Soft and dense interior. Absolutely incredible. Magical. Lox was excellent. Every bite was like an out-of-body religious experience. Be forewarned, however... these things are absurdly overpriced— two lox bagels were $23!! Lol. Expect a long line. I recommend for great and authentic NY style bagels...Yum!!!! You really won’t get better. My only real complaint is that they use Counterculture coffee... yes, it’s “local” and roasted in Durham, NC, but it isn’t good at all compared to other beans....sawdust-like—so many better coffee bean options out there. Espresso would have been a nice option, too!

Delicious bagels and smoked fish. However, the prices listed when trying to order online are different than when you go pick up in the store. Online shows $45/pound for Sable but when went to pick it up was told it was $72/pound. They should either fix the website or honor the online price. It may just be a mistake but it feels deceptive. The site adjusts to the higher total price when checking out but doesn’t show why the price was changed.

Delicious bagels and cream cheese with unique flavor combinations. Great crust texture, with tender insides. I have loved all 3 flavors I have tried so far.If you are looking for “NY bagels” you are missing the point. These are Button bagels made in Asheville. Appreciate these bagels for what these are and you will not be disappointed. The 1 Star reviews complaining that these bagels are not like specific NY locations are uninformed. It is like to going to a ramen house and complaining that it doesn’t taste anything like the stuff you get at the grocery store. Isn’t that the point?

The bagels are obscene in the best way possible. Perfect crust, chewy inside, amazing flavors. It’s almost a shame to put anything in them, and the only reason it’s not is the quality of the spreads and fillings here. Eggs cooked to order your way, not sheets of scrambled eggs pulled out of a steamer. Salmon cured there. And if you are really into the New York deli thing you can get Celery soda that is made just for here! Two small problems - One: no online or phone ordering system so you can just swing by and grab bagels you’ve ordered, though I’m sure it’s coming. Two: Katie Button is the one who hands you your bagels so you have to be cool and not act all star struck. It’s a real struggle...

It wasnt quite enough to make up for the other factors though.Dirty drinking glass with sesame seeds in it on the water station. The stickers were a dollar but then they used the as throw away wrapper seals? The sanitation rating tucked up on in a corner of the ceiling like they wanted to hide a 95.The employees staring us down while waiting for us to leave even though they were open for another hour.I love the idea and love bagels, but dont think its quite up to the standards or expectations of a $11 bagel.

Parking is horrible, but hey, its Asheville. As for the bagels: the texture of the dough is correct, good rise and lots of air pockets. The crust is crispy, and you can tell they are boiling then baking as they should. The size is small and should be a 1/3 bigger. The flavor is a tish flat and not aromatic like a true NY bagel. I should know Im eating a bagel and not a crispy roll. Maybe they need to import NY water??? Better bagel than Ive had in the south and this NY boy will be back

Delicious food w/New York ProcesI Was really looking forward to this spot as I’m a huge fan of the New York style deli with smoked fish and bagels. They nail the food but at a premium price. We paid $30 for two bagel sandwiches and 1 soda and a bag of chips. It was good, but that’s a pricey lunch for working Asheville locals. Wish we could have a quality lunch spot that caters to Asheville living wages instead of just squeezing cash out of the tourists crowd.

Typical Liberal Business Plan to rip people off for profit. I am from Brooklyn I KNOW Bagels. This place is an overpriced rip-off . Blatantly anti child, bizarre awful selection of odd options...and no true identity. A house bottled root beer that has NO sweet in it..no sugar no nothing NOT SWEET AT ALL it is AWFULL just nasty....like drinking an actual ROOT ..so bad we returned it and they had NOTHING to replace it with for my child.. she had to have water...The lox are not lox. They are flavorless. The prices ridiculous the menu states Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice $3.00 it does not exist. What they call cream cheese is NOT it has been manipulated into some type of processed cheese product for volume for maximum profit. One bagel, one tiny ramaken of cheese ( for TWO bagels?? really??) a couple slices of cucumber ( why?) some really bad capers some fish some not fresh red onion pieces a couple small slices of tomato 3 tiny slices of a tiny boiled egg ( where the hell do you find an egg that small? ) and 3 HUGE SLICES OF LEMON? on a plate $16 BUCKS! Expensive coffee that is not that great either.Typical Asheville ripoff but those of us who KNOW know NOT to return, don.t wast your money that tiny plate of substandard items 2 bagels and a coffee should NOT cost $25 bucks!!

The bagels and spreads are mouth watering delicious, perfect maybe? I cannot fault them. The ingredients quality makes me feel good about eating here, not just as a former organic farmer that cares about where my food comes from but as a person with a sensitive stomach. The price is lower than I expected and makes this place nearly as accessable as Brueggers for quality and taste that far surpass it. What can I say? Im inlove! Katie Button nailed it, all around.

Review №75

Well the bagels are not the best. They do not live up to NY bagles nor any bagles from high end shops over the north east. As for the menu theres a very limited selection. I couldnt get my usual two eggs and cheese on an everything bagel unless I either wanted to spend a lot or annoy the F out of the cashier. And I dont want to do either. The fully veggie option is decent but would be better if the beets were sliced about half as thick and had some arugula or spinach on top. Maybe some stickier cheese under the beets to keep them from sliding out?
