They do not communicate with you, and will leave you completely hanging. They are perfectly satisfied leaving you in the dark and stranded. I was patient and kind for a long time until I realized they were taking advantage of that. They will never give you a straight answer and I cannot recommend this place of business.

We bought a new Hyundai Sonata from Jake Ritz at Hyundai of Asheville and are very pleased with the car. We previously owned a Prius and liked it BUT the Sonata is so much bigger and gets the same high fuel milage. It is very comfortable and rides great. The sales and finance staff were great to work with. I defiantly would buy there again.

Ill start with a positive. Everyone we dealt with at the dealership was pleasant and well mannered. Thats about it for positives.My family and I purchased a 2021 Hyundai Tucson in April. We had to go through the dreaded good cop/bad cop routine of haggling a deal. Its annoying unless you look at it as a game - a game where the consumer is spending $1,000s of hard earned dollars for a vehicle. We came in at about MSRP for a basic, no frills Hyundai. OK. Fine. We felt good about that aspect of the deal. However, we were then hounded with multiple text messages, email and phone messages by the salesperson and dealership to leave a five star review. This was despite fact that we did not feel the transaction or our overall experience merited a five star review. In addition to the good cop/bad cop shenanigans, on delivery of the vehicle we were told they had washed and detailed the car, only to discover cookie crumbs under the drivers seat, and a most definitely not detailed out vehicle. Whatever. We laughed it off b/c in the grand scheme of things its not a life changer. However, we took the car in today for a complimentary maintenance. The invoice states (twice with three exclamation marks following each statement) that the service included a complimentary car wash and vacuum floor boards. Um...the car was neither washed, nor were the floor boards vacuumed. Ive attached a few photos. Granted it was off and on rainy today but its more than obvious that these two things were not done. Why this negative review? Because after all of the above we now have very little trust in this dealership. Fingers crossed the oil and filter were actually changed, tires rotated and the multi-point inspection were actually completed b/c after the above experiences this all comes into doubt. I get it. Some car dealerships have a well deserved reputation for being shady and unreliable, and sadly, Hyundai of Asheville ranks right there amongst these types of auto dealerships. Im happy some people have had good experiences there but there are plenty of less than stellar reviews to merit our calling their reliability and honesty into question. We will go elsewhere from now on.

Talk about highway robbery. I was traveling back from the east part of NC when I noticed I was having issues with my 17 tucson. From what other dealer mechanics had told me and from researching the issues it sounded like it was related to the newest recall on my car and was told by 2 other dealer mechanics and my personal mechanic that I needed to have the car seen by an actual hyundai dealer and anyone would take care of me. When I stopped in I told the gentleman what was going on and what I had been told about the current issues. I was then told that the only thing that could be done was just a documentation of me claiming that my car was burning oil, when it was in fact burning oil and 2 quarts had already been added. After calling my normal dealer to update them on what had happened since I was over 1,000 miles from home they proceeded to tell me when the oil change was done the dealer should have started the oil consumption test documents. Meaning marks should have been made in certain parts of my vehicle so we can start the proper documentation for the recall. Not just heres an oil change and tire rotation for NINETY DOLLARS. I understand it is a dealership and you will pay more, but $90.00 is ridiculous. One dealer in Ohio I occasionally go to does both for $45. So when the dealer near me found out what all happened I now have to wait until another oil change is due because thats the only time they can start the proper documentation for the issue. This was also backed by the dealer I bought the car from and from Hyundai customer service. Needless to say if for what ever reason I have a hyundai in NC again and need help I will not be stopping at this dealer.

This was one of the worst experience Ive ever had in my life.First of all when they got my $1000 deposit and knew I was driving all the way from Charleston, they knew they had me and could treat me any way they pleased. Courtney the salesperson knew absolutely zero about the vehicle she was selling me and had a lackluster attitude. John the creepy meanager was so rude very narcissist and tryin to intimidate me but it didnt work.Very robot like and Courtney as well.I spent over 35k there and not one thanked me except Elijah the finance guy.May the way you treat others come back round....Sincerely,KARMA

Do your homework!Ive read several good reviews about this dealership and Ive read experiences that sound just like mine. My advise is to do your homework before you go to any dealership. I spent two days at the Hyundai of Asheville dealership and was upfront about my expectations with the sales consultant so to not waste either of our time, only to have the floor manager Tiffany present me with an offer that was $3000 more than the sticker price and an offer for my trade that was close to $4000 less than the average trade in price for a clean vehicle. The interaction and shady salesman talk was too ridiculous to detail in this review. I will say I ended up buying the same model and trim level vehicle from Friendship Hyundai in Johnson City, TN at the price and payment I wanted. Do your homework!!Response to Owner:Sir, there is definitely something you can do and that is to be transparent about your pricing just like your website suggest that you do. Ive bought several vehicles over my life time and not once have I ever been told that the price of a vehicle is MORE than the price clearly listed on the sticker of the car. In this case, the price on both the car and your website were the same. Again, the price that was offered was $3000 more. Not sure how that is fair or how that can be explained.

Though the salesman here was nice, polite and friendly... I had the exact opposite experience with this dealer. Update, 8/26. I left the lot with the car on 8/9. Tonight, the battery is dead. Im going to call and see if theres any resolution to this. Disappointing.Original:I was concerned after reading some of the negative reviews, but my experience here was a positive one. They were willing to get an older Hyundai certified that was just inside the certification requirements and were patient while my bank bumbled around with my loan application after Id initially said that I would pay cash.Bobby and Cassie were friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I called on the phone and spoke with a salesman September 1,2021 about a Hyundai Palisade. The salesman told me to come take a test drive. I went and test drove the car and fell in love with it.I told the salesman exactly what I was looking for and exactly what my intentions were. He went to speak with his assistant manager about the down payment. The assistant manager comes over to myself and my husband to speak with us. .The way this mgr spoke to us was very over bearing.Not only was the price of the car 13k higher than Hunter Hyundai ,but he wanted 5000 deposit. I have never in my life dealt with a manager with this mannerisms.If you are looking for a great deal I suggest going to Hunter Hyundai in Fletcher NC. They certainly take care of their customers!

If I could give another star I would! First, I inquired about a vehicle over the phone, as I live an hour and a half away. Hayden, from the sales department, answered my call. He was so professional, respectful, and just so kind that even though the car I was asking about was no longer available, I decided to continue my search with this dealership! I then drove to see the lot in person the same day and the amazing experience continued. That being said, unfortunately, when I arrived, Hayden was assisting another customer. I was hesitant of the new salesman I would be introduced to for about 2.5 seconds. (I mean I did decide to drive here because of my experience with Hayden) Then came, Clay Brock! The best car salesman I have ever had the privilege of conducting business with. This gentleman made my entire time at the dealership a pure joy! Yes, as in, I had fun the entire time! Not only did I feel relaxed, but I felt heard. Clay took the time to listen to each of my vehicle needs while also considering my financial obligations. When he walked out of the “giant box of wonder” with a grin on his face, I had no idea what magic had just occurred. The vehicle he brought out had every.single.thing. I had asked for. Even down to the color! I was shocked! No way this could be real. It was a packed, busy day and yet, Clay, made me feel like the only customer there. Never once did I feel pressured or like I was “playing the game” Clay was my teammate and he made sure I left a winner. I could not give more thanks to each of the gentlemen I had the pleasure of doing business with! Moving forward, I will only purchase my family’s vehicles from Hyundai of Asheville and I will send all referrals to them! Ive called and emailed this dealership several times inquiring on a Hyundai Genesis. Jason never responded to my emails, then when I requested it again, I was told the vehicle was sold by someone else. I noticed several days later, its listed on all the major vehicle selling sites. I called today and spoke with Maddy and asked if its available. She said yes. I asked a question regarding this same vehicle. She said shed check and call me back, but of course that didnt happen either. I would have considered making the 2 hr drive and possibly purchasing the car, but obviously they dont care whether they make a sale or not. Tired of dealing with unresponsive car dealerships.

Deceptive advertising! They offer $500 cash off for any car purchased if you submit your contact info online. The terms and conditions say you need to print and hand to them before buying a vehicle. The problem is once you enter your information the offer disappears and you can’t print.I asked the floor manager Tiffany about this after we purchased a vehicle and she said it was built in to the price of our trade in. No documentation stated that. They will not honor this deceptive offer.

Had my car for 3 weeks in which they NEVER called me unless I called first, straight up lied to me about why the repair was taking so long, and beyond that, lied to me about what they had done to service my car. Have caused over $500+ in repairs since then, and are too baby to answer their phone to make it right. Do not take your car here unless you have no other option. You can see here where they broke the piece and tried to GLUE it back on, causing me a quite costly repair down the road.

I had an appointment to drive a Toyota the day we went to Hyundai of Asheville with my mother who needed something for her Hyundai. From the entry at the door the staff gave her excellent service although she purchased her Hyundai in another state. We have owned many Toyotas over the years. We thought we would look at Hyundai since we would be there. Martin showed us a Santa Fe and showed us all the features that included many more safety features than it looked like we would get on the Toyota we were looking at. The warranty is another reason we chose the Santa Fe. Martin made the experience so so pleasant and easy. He has always been so helpful after the sale to answer questions and make sure we are still happy after the sale.

If you’re considering the KBB you instant cash offer, don’t go here. The most uneducated staff I’ve ever encountered at a dealership. Promised they could give more than 11,500 kbb instant cash offer, so I drove an hour to get here. 30 minutes after a kid from the showroom looks at the car, they offer 80% of the original offer. There excuse was “we can only pay 9400 because we can only sell it for 16,147” then proceeded to say “ we have to fix what’s wrong with it” I asked what was wrong and their response was “it’s an 07, I’m sure something is wrong”. Save your time, save your stress, avoid the untrained, unprofessional staff of Hyundai of Asheville.1 hour later sold to a different dealer for 11,700. 200 more than the offer I went for.

Had recently bought a used vehicle from them. Was told about their “amazing” 20 point inspection before they put cars out to be sold, by the gentleman that sold us our car. A week after purchasing the car it rained and I put the windshield wipers on for the first real time, and one of them flew off while driving down the highway. Not even a month after purchasing, the maintenance light came on for an oil change, then a week later the battery died. Was told if they replaced things for free even if it’s only been a month since purchase, they wouldn’t make any money. The customer service provided by the management is ridiculous, makes me worried about what’s going to happen to my vehicle in the future.Oh look it’s now three weeks since this post and my car is struggling to start. I will be calling them in the morning since they are closed today.

Everything they do is aimed towards separating money from your pocket and putting it in theirs. Completely. They do not cover things that should be covered under warranty, claiming that Hyundai would not permit it and it is customer responsibility - even though the part should be clearly covered under the bumper-to-bumper warranty. I strongly suspect that the amount of money Hyundai the manufacturer pays is significantly less than their upcharge for parts and service directly from the customer.Edit: The service manager has reached out in an attempt to address the several issues that have built up. Im willing to accept it as a good faith attempt to get it right, and will further adjust my rating if we can get to some solutions. Credit where its due.Edit 2: It is now well over 1 month from the service managers call - I have heard nothing back... My cars broken part, while minor, is still broken. Basically, this phone call was more about fixing my review than fixing my car.

I brought my 2021 Audi s4 in to have the windows tinted by A1A (operates out of Hyundai) and decided to look into a new car for my girlfriend. Drove an Elantra and liked it, the salesperson was good, not very knowledgeable on the car (read off of window sticker, said it got 21mpg when that was just the current average, actually gets 35), but was good and VERY kind. However, that’s the only reason I’m even giving this place a star, the finance manager, Eli, came over and instantly began attacking my financials that’s what the rest of this review will be about…Just a little background… I am a 19 year old, with a $70k car (ive had 5 cars before my Audi, never had a problem), enough money in the bank to buy MULTIPLE Elantras in cash, and ZERO credit card debt.Anyways, Eli comes out immediately asking me if I had a co-signer, to which I replied “no, I’ve never needed one before” then he kicks off his pitch by saying “you have quite a bit of credit card debt” (mind you, if this WERE true, it would be very personal, sensitive information that other people shouldn’t hear, there were people all around who could easily hear him). I was very polite throughout, I said I was going to shop around at Honda and some other dealerships. He then continued his passive aggressive attitude toward me by saying “make sure you don’t go around letting multiple dealerships pull your credit” (I have a lot of inquiries because I recently bought a car, he knew this) THEN “Honda’s have a lot of problems with their CVT transmissions, we see them having issues all the time” it’s funny how he felt the need to put people AND other car brands down to promote himself and his brand.Audi, BMW, Porsche, etc, they would never do that. They don’t NEED to. Neither did any of those 3 dealerships question my financials or ability to pay for the car.To Eli: you’re one of a few finance managers at a LOW VOLUME HYUNDAI dealership. If you want to make sales, don’t attack your potential clients. Your salesperson who spent nearly 2 hours with me lost my business because of YOU. I drove straight to Audi, they approved me on a lease for a 2021 A4, almost twice as expensive, and a second car through the same bank. Good luck buddy.Edit: not to mention tried to add on $3000 dealer trade fee, ridiculous. They thought I would pay over $500/month to lease a HYUNDAI ELANTRA, LOL!!!

UPDATE 6/18/2021 - They made it right and fixed the car. I have changed my rating to 3 stars from 1 star. UPDATE, THEY HAVE CALLED AND ARE PLANNING ON FIXING THE CAR. IF THEY FOLLOW THRU I WILL GIVE A BETTER RATING!! recently purchased a used car from this dealership. The salesman Hayden was very nice and they called frequently to get me to come over and look at their stock. My daughter finally saw a car she liked and we made an appt to go. We got there and decided we wanted the vehicle. They initially tried to get me to pay 3000 over what they were asking for the car. We finally agreed on a price. We bought the car and within a week we noticed the car was idling low and even cut off one time. We took the car to the dealership 3 different times while in their 1000 mile warranty. They said different things like thats normal for a small engine. Finally the engine light came on and they were able to determine its the fuel pump. They have decided not to fix it even though it had a warranty. So they dont mind selling you a bad vehicle and they wont make it right either. They dont care. Find somewhere else to give your business.

I first contacted the dealer in October of 2020. I test drove the car I wanted, aa 2020 Ioniq Limited. But due to a number of reasons I was not able to complete the purchase at that time. I ended up getting a 2021 Ioniq SEL in May 2021. Our sales person, Martin Gutierrez, asked if he could check in with me from time to time to see if our situation had changed and were we still interested in the Ioniq and I said yes. Throughout the intervening months he called several times to check on me and our situation and interest in the car. He was always professional and friendly, no pressure at all. Then, when we were in a situation to get the car I called him and began the process of purchase. The whole affair was stress-free and professional. And we couldnt be more thrilled with our new car!

Car dealerships like this are the reasons I hate car salesman. I almost felt like I couldn’t leave without buying a car, and once I did leave they wouldn’t stop texting me. Extremely pushy and inconsiderate. After a week of constant text messages I eventually blocked them.Went to Toyota down the street that same day and had a completely different experience & even left with a BRAND NEW car.

At Hyundai Asheville the sales guy was promising and helpful before the purchase so we agreed to a deal on a vehicle before the purchase I was promised a full tank of gas that was offered to me and that the car would be detailed once I came back TO PICK IT UP THE VEHICLE ONLY TO FIND IT DIRTY HAIR IN INTERIOR AND TANK ON EMPTY AND WAS NOT TOLD THAT THE CAR ONLY HAD ONE KEY FOB UNTIL I SIGNED THE CHECK TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLE IF YOU BUY A CAR THERE BE CAREFUL BECAUSE PROMISES ARE MADE ONLY UNTIL THEY SELL YOU THE VEHICLE
