I refuse to do business here for the following reasons 1.) Items are not priced. Consumers have to wait for the owner or an employee to make that determination when you are finished shopping. God forbid you are wanting to inquire about multiple items or wish to continue shopping after receiving a price and make a second inquiry. 2.) I understand that this business is located in a sketchy part of town (huge understatement) and no doubt theft is an issue, but, judge your audience or relocate to a better part of town. I do not need to be followed around unless the person trailing me is knowledgeable and has the autonomy to provide the asking price of an item I am potentially interested in purchasing. 3.) Owner is condescending, ill-informed, and frankly rude. Do yourself a favor and either shop for salvage items on-line or purchase from a company that can at least pretend to appreciate your business.
One of my favorite places. Prepare to spend a few hours here theres a lot to look at. Have had success sourcing doors, sinks, tubs, and lights for my projects.
In my 25 years of antiquing I have NEVER seen a place like this. First of all, it is MASSIVE. You could spend hours exploring all the sections. The second thing that sets Salvage Angels apart from other shops is that it is organized by type of item. For example, there is a room for artwork, a section of rattan furniture, a section for signs, a section for lighting, etc. so you if you are looking for something specific, you can find it very easily. When I went, I purchased a beautiful mid century lamp and a gorgeous crystal ice bucket with an etched polar bear. Pricing is very fair. Definitely worth a visit!
Carolyn is super accommodating with every visit. I’ve purchased several beautiful items including a one of a kind antique solid wood chest and barn wood for a table project. If you haven’t been here it’s truly a unique place not to be missed.
Beautiful items here, but extremely over priced. Items are very dirty, covered in dust, smell, & require some serious TLC. (Which is why prices should be lowered).. when you try to bargain, you’re met with an attitude from what appears to be the woman in charge. As a thrifter, and refurbisher, this place would be a gold mine- but very unreasonable.
Yes.Yes and Yes. Quite an interesting collection. Well worth a visit. Loved it.
This place was amazing! It is a organized labyrinth of incredible findings you didnt know you need but absolutely must have. From sinks, to doorknobs, tubs to vintage phones; theres even a conveyer belt and a ice cream hand cart. Plus, any place with a big, ol friendly dog is A-okay in my book.
This place is amazing! They go pick up doors, windows, furnishings, etc. from buildings that are getting torn down or renovated. Need a door? We got 6 there. Four had beautiful carvings in the wood, one had colored stain glass, and one had three large several-layered 8-point wooden stars on each side. They have wrought iron furnishings from our great grandparents day, decorated wood and mirrored medicine cabinets, old bannisters, church pews, lamps, pots, etc. Nice staff. Inventory changes regularly. Bring towels or blankets to protect the stuff in your car.
Great treasure trove of old stuff
The pricing is very off, the organization of the place could greatly improve. Great potential
Pretty intense object hunting! Huge place with something for every taste. No such thing as a quick trip here!
Excellent resource for reclaimed architectural items as well as vintage home accents, furniture, etc. Its a huge showroom of merchandise - come with a list or to be inspired. The owner wants to help you find something special and takes pride in a curated selection of merchandise. This is an excellent first-stop for anyone beginning a home / store renovation project (large or small) or looking for special items to further their decorating vision. Merchandise changes weekly. I review the Facebook page regularly to see whats new. Highly recommend!
Lots of great pieces of history. Plan on spending some time taking it all in
The two men were super nice and helpful. The lady behind the desk was rude. Some pretty cool stuff, unfortunately extremely over priced. We wont be going back.
One of the coolest vintage/salvage warehouses I have ever been to ! Nothing else like it in New Jersey.
What an amazing place. If you own an older home in the Asbury Park area and are looking for building materials to match your existing construction, this place is for you. Or if you’re just looking for cool furniture items and/or antiques you can’t go wrong.
Cool resource for all older or antique home renovation items. Each visit has something unique from previous stops as they are getting different items routinely.
Carolyn and Brett always have the thing you need. Great ever changing selection of salvaged stuff from great doors and cabinets to vintage things to put in them. 👍👍👍👍👍
I LOVE my French doors.Im so grateful that Salvage Angel saves the history and character of the Jersey Shore from the landfill and stores it safely till it finds its new home.
Great place to find stuff when you are restoring an old house will definitely go back
Great place. If you are into restoring an older home, you need to visit Salvage Angel by the Sea.
A great collection of architectural and vintage finds. But felt prices were high and no willingness to negotiate.
Theyve got everything its great and new stuff all the time
Have a great variety to choose from that will satisfy almost any idea from nearly any restoration project.
Great experience. Lots of neat stuff.
Customer service is sad. Selection is great!
Only saw this from the outside dont know much about them.
