Right from our first meeting, I could tell Mike was the guy I was looking to do my retaining wall(s) and steps. Even though the job is about 90% done, I have no qualms with recommending AMK Hardscapes for any applicable work. Mike spent time with me today explaining what was done and what needs to be finished even though he just got diagnosed with Covid. Im wishing him a speedy recovery and continued success with a great business! Keep in mind the steps are not finished, but look spectacular. I also posted the before pic.

Our original five year old, poorly constructed (as we learned) patio was coming apart. It was getting dangerous and looked terrible! AMK Hardscapes came in and completely dismantled and reconstructed our patio properly according to industry standards. They were able to clean and reuse most of the original pavers which helped with the cost. We now have a beautiful patio we are very proud of! Owner Mike was great to work with and his employees were amazing. They are not only very hardworking and precise but they are creative artists as well! Plus, they cleaned up the area after they finished so well it was like they were never there!

I had this company come out and give me an estimate. Jen came out and was amazing! She stayed for over an hour and helped me get some ideas and make suggestions. Im still waiting for an estimate from another company, but Jen has set the bar pretty high.

Mike did a great job of explaining the project, options, timing, and estimate in our initial meeting. He was interested in how I wanted the spaces (front and back patios) to look and function and provided insightful guidance to help me understand all of the options to achieve my desired outcome. AMK was able to start my project a week early and they finished within the estimated project time. The on-site team led by Alberto was efficient and professional. The process was dustier and dirtier than I had imagined and the team took great care in cleaning up each day and minimizing how much the work on my side of a duplex spilled over to my neighbors side. I would definitely work with the AMK team again and have already recommended them to a few friends.

We had a great experience using AMK Hardscapes. After meeting with four other contractors, we werent happy with their proposals/pricing, but as soon as we met with Mike that changed. He was very informative when discussing our plans with him and how they would approach the project. We ended up tearing out a concrete patio and installing a new paver patio, staircase and fire pit with gas line in the backyard. The end product looked better than we had envisioned. Mikes team led by Alberto were very professional, quick to make any adjustments we wanted as they came up, and overall did an amazing job. They were able to start the project sooner than planned, and we were very pleased with all aspects of it. They kept the area well clean, and by the end had done an amazing job cleaning up everything. Mike and his staff finished an 800 sq foot stone, deck on schedule during January, 2021, in spite of hard winter weather and frozen ground. The work started with demolition of two existing concrete patios, building an 80 foot retaining wall and laying the most beautiful pattern of pavers that match the existing stone work on a twelve year put home. We regret not understanding the benefit of pavers when our custom home was first built. In addition, we commissioned AMK to build a 14 by 12 foot cedar pergola, which will be completed next week. Finding a multi-talented contractor who builds to your specifications is a big plus!I interviewed four contractors in the past 5 months for our backyard project and chose AMK based on Mike’s willing to listen to our wishes and his company’s ability to provide a multitude of services using company employees and having the construction equipment needed to complete a project on time.Additionally, we were pleasantly surprised when the project proposal was 25% less than other home improvement bidders and the project come in at budget quoted without add-ons.

My backyard paver patio was sinking due to a bad installation from another contractor. Mike came out, quoted the job, and finished the work the next day. The patio looks incredible. I highly recommend Mike and his crew at AMKOne other thing to add. Mike was one of the only companies to give me the time of day for a smaller repair. Most other places would only quote new jobs over $4k.

Mike gave a reasonable quote inclusive of removing a flagstone walkway, site prep & installation of pavers for a walkway & extended patio area. He stuck to the original quote even though there were a few additional expenses identified during the installation process. The AMK crew was able to start work a week earlier than the original estimated time frame & were on time & productive throughout the 4 day project. The pavers look great & Mike made sure to come by to address a few minor requests (additional sand fill & drain pipe caps) as well as conduct a walkthrough to ensure we were happy with the final result.

We hired Mike to re-do a paver project that was partially done by a Landscape Company and the other section I did. We started seeing a lot of shifting and movement. Mike and his crew came in and did a full repair with all the right equipment and knowledge. The overall result looks even better than before and stable! The entire crew worked with precision. Ive worked with A LOT of contractors over the years but AMK is by far the best! 5 Stars+! This is the 4th time weve had the AMK team out to our home. First was the pathway to the front door. Next it was the driveway. Their next visit was to install a complex patio in antique brick, and then finally a new patio in another section of the yard. Extremely polite crew.

Mike and the crew installed a beautiful paver driveway for me about 1 1/2 years ago. The attention to detail was very important to all of them. I could not be happier with the job they did. About 6 months ago a couple of edge pavers were loosening up from backing over then several times. I called Mike and he sent his men out the next day to repair my problem. I only give 5 start because I cant give them 6.

I’ve now used AMK twice to do what has resulted in a total yard overhaul. They have designed and installed retaining walls, patios, walkways, and a fire pit for me. Mike and his crew are reliable, easy to work with and will make sure that everything is done to your satisfaction. One of the things I really appreciate about working with AMK is that they stay on the job from start to finish, they don’t start and then leave for a week and come and go. I have had no problems with AMK’s work and have had neighbors use them for large projects and have been equally pleased with their work.

We used AMK Hardscapes again for an extension on the new driveway they installed last Fall. Always a stress-free pleasure working with Mike and his crew. Addition is seamless and beautifully done!

Our paver patio was never laid correctly when we had the job done back in April. The patio continues to crack and have loose stones because the dirt was never compacted correctly. Mike, the owner is EXTREMELY unresponsive when it comes to warranty work (our patio is only 7 months old and has looked terrible since day one). Both my husband and I have to reach out 15+ times over the course of a month or two before he will respond to us. Very disappointed with this company and work.
