Not a review of this specific location, but of the Northern Tool web site. Attempted to make a $720 purchase online for in-store pick-up. The web site would not allow the transaction to happen. Kept saying check credit card and billing address information. All of the info was correct. Tried multiple times, would not work. I guess Northern Tool isnt interested in money. Im sure one of their competitors will take my money.

You would think especially the way things are now that these stores / employees / people would redeem a simple $20 coupon off of a $339 equipment that had expired because was told over the phone that there was NO way Northern Tool would run a coupon with an item on sale !! but they did, it took me awhile to make it up to a store and show the paperwork that I had BUT by then it had expired and they would not honor the coupon. So I told them that they could keep their equipment and Ill move on ! and they said okNow you would think that over 20 bucks that this company would rather sell equipment than to save $20 from that coupon that had just expired and my whole point

Excellent service. Extremely helpful. I have never had such a great experience in any other business. So glad I went there today. Cashier should get rewarded at the least.

Wish I could give no Stars! Have had nothing but issues with their repair Dept. I spend thousands a year with NT and the warranty repair work always seems to be an issue! just bought 2- $4,000.00 pressure washers and when received, one of them smoked really bad and was getting fuel into the oil. I sent to their repair facility in Arnold,mo within hours of receiving. They charged me over $100 for repairing it! they said it had water in the fuel tank and that they couldnt get it to smoke! Funny and BS! we work on small equipment at our facility and know how to repair but was utilizing NT since it was BRAND NEW! wish i could upload a video but heres a pic! water in the fuel doesnt make it do this! SMH. Disappointed...

This is my go to place for tools. They have a ton of large wrenches and sockets, more than any other store in the area. They also have many other items and some hardware. The store employees are very nice. But they dont always know what tools they have in the store. Always check the website to see if the items are on sale, because the store will match the online price. Anyway, this is the first store I go to.

I gave 2 stars as their shipping company is terrible, what we ordered to be shipped to are home should have been shipped in a box truck, but since their truck was broken they wanted to deliver it in a semi truck, REALLY!!!! How many residential areas can receive a semi truck. We had it rerouted to the Arnold store and had to drive 150 miles round trip to pick this up. Northern needs to get on the ball as I was told this just didnt happen to us. Northern needs to switch trucking company as this is unacceptable and they will be losing a commercial and residential customer. And to top it off they wont refund us the entire shipping charges. Shipping stated on the website is if it is delivered to the store it is free shipping.

Zero stars. Ordered raised garden beds, I understand they were on back order but the raised garden planters were not. Should have been in on Thursday, after several hours on the phone with customer specialist and going back to the store and nothing was resolved, called customer specialist again. Saturday morning wasted trying to resolve this issue and found our it was not charged even though I have a receipt that shows it and the ignorant and errogant customer service specialist hung up on me. Wasnt cursing nor did I yell at her. What a waste of time.

They always have deals found these welding gloves for $2.25 and 6.75 a pair. You cant beat that and they are very well made.

The staff is friendly and helpful. Any questions I had were answered, and the salesperson, Patrick, assisted me with choosing the right kind of power drill I needed.

Not happy I ordered a hanging heater on 2/4/21 and it is now 3/16/21 and I still do not have my heater. I have not received one call from Northern Tool Arnold but I have called three times and felt like I had to ask every detail to get an answer from them. I have already been charged on my credit card for the heater and winter is almost over. I feel like they could care less about my problem so I wont be shopping at Northern anymore.

Great experience and great prices.... I wasn’t fully sure on what all I needed for just getting a pool and getting stuff for that and to build a deck... was assisted by Tanya and Joey B and they were very helpful... they pointed out what tools I would need and different ways to set it up over all was a great experience and I have more knowledge on what I’m doing thanks to them I will for sure be back!!

Wonderful staff.

Northern Tool has been very helpful in the past but never at this location. Every employee I have come in contact with is rude and acts like it is an inconvenience to offer any help at all. There has been multiple occasions where they insisted an item was out of stock and come to find out it’s not when I look on my own. If you choose to come here, know what you are looking for before you come as they will offer no help, and most likely make you feel bad about even asking. Keep in mind, I have spent thousands of dollars in these stores.

I was very impressed with this store. I ordered online to pick it up in the store. I got an email very quickly stating it was ready for pick-up. When I entered the store to pick it up I was greeted very warmly by the cashier. Checkout was quite easy and the salesman helped me take it to my car. Very good experience.

The Arnold store is fine. Ordering on-line is always a pita. Today, I was directed to paypal, after partly completing the sale I was told payal is not available. Now I dont know if I have a pp charge or not. Last time I ordered something by mistake and was unable, after numerous tries, including talking with customer service, to cancel the order. I was forced to pick it up in order to return it, which would have been a restocking charge. I told myself I would never do business with them again, yet here I am. Guess well see.

The service at this location is very good. The employees are always ready to help when you need them. I would recommend this location to ask if my colleagues and friends.

Only reason to come here, would be for the stihl equipment. Incompetent service. Manager was supposed to give me a call back 2 days ago to either compensate or refund and exchange the wrong item for the 3rd time in a row. I never received a call. I will be getting my refund and not returning. At this point compensation wont change my mind. The item may have been a cheap one, but Ive spent over $500 here in the past 2 months. And I know if I continue to do business with them, they will continue to make errors at my inconvenience. Not worth the 1 hour commute.

It is a clean store with helpful salespeople.

Greeted warmly upon entering and was asked if I needed help which I did. The woman behind the counter paged a nice young man named Mark (I think that was his name) and he was waiting at the aisle for me. He quickly found exactly what I needed and made sure it was the right size for my application. This is how you treat customers. I’ve been to similar supply stores and no one is there to help.

Any time I come in, the service is exceptional. Kudos to this company for adhering to social distancing and limiting the number of people in the store while still maintaining their professional customer service skills!

At check out, one man on the phone helping a customer, one lady wiping down the counter and another man talking to the lady. Neither the lady nor the other man made any attempt to help us check out. The lady looked at me twice, never said a word to me and never smiled. What a sad place to work or shop. The thing is, Northern Tools has great products. Just wish the customer service was better.

While traveling to Kansas I stopped at KC store it was super neat and very clean, I bought a Clutch Drill Press and Strongway 20 ton hydraulic press along with some other items, great personnel at this store checked out rapidly and proceeded to back of store to load my stuff which was put on with a hyster I failed to notice they inadvertently put a Ironton 20 ton hydraulic press on instead of the Strongway which the Strongway is a higher priced press but was on sale, on my way home when I stopped to gas up I noticed the mistake.As I was going through Arnold, Mo on the way home I stopped there and they were covered up and one of the floor people was getting ready to to go on break, but he said I will help you before I go(which was much appreciated) I told him this may take a while to which he replied it doesnt matter so went out to my truck and he looked at my ticket and verified what I told him, he came in and told the Manager, Stanley who was as busy as he could be he listened then told another employee to take care of it and he would sign off on it, which was a process but was completed efficiently and promptly...I cant say enough good about these folks Five star A1!!!!!!!!!!!!

I purchased a pair of boots from NT website. I had them shipped to my home. They fit tight so i went to take them back at the store 30 miles from my house. I had my packing recite and the return policie on the web page says that i either have to have that our a return .Number not both. The store manager says he cant return without the return number. So i call customer service. 36minutes and 19 seconds later i have still been on hold with customer service the manager informs that he v will try and return them anther way not sure if it worked yet said it would take a few days to post to my account. NT HAS THE WORST RETURN POLICIE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. The site managers are not knowledgeable about the job. I will never shop at NT again complete waste of my time.

I ordered a lawn tractor seat for my mower on May 1st. The order was shipped on May 2. It is May 11th and still no seat. It is being delivered to the store near me. Are you kidding me. I called the customer service and was told that it would take 5 to 12 business days. Must be coming by Pony Express. Terrible service. Never order online if you need it in a hurry. Go to Amazon and pay a little extra. At least you’ll have it in a couple of days. Ridiculous.

One of our employees bought several tools he never used before he left the company. We returned with them in the origonal packaging and in the yellow northern tool bag but since we had no receipt they would not do any return. What a poor policy when it was obviously theirs. We have banned our employees from Northern tool.

My air compressor went down, and I was at first relieved to discover that nearby Northern Tool serviced compressors. I took my compressor to them and anted up the $35 diagnostic fee. Eight days later, I got a call from Tim, the technician. Tim informed me that he had spoken with the Makita parts warehouse, and that the only part available for my tool was the compressor/electric motor assembly, which cost $400. (My compressor retails for $359 brand new.) I was skeptical, so I looked on the internet and found a bunch of companies which sold the individual parts necessary for rebuilding my compressor. I called Tim back and informed him of my discovery. His reaction was that He would have to charge me 60% more for the parts if he bought them on the internet. I asked him if I could buy the parts on the web so he could repair my compressor, and he told me that he could not guarantee the work if I did that. He also said, Plus, it comes as a unit, and I would have to take it apart to fix it! Really, Tim? Gee, I never expected that you would have to actually take it apart to repair it! I will let the reader draw their own conclusions from these facts. As for my part, it cost me $35 to learn my lesson, and I still have a broken down compressor. Im never going back to Northern Tool. You shouldnt either.

I place an order online. They said they did not receive it and when I went to buy it again it just went off sale that day. I asked if they would honor the price the simply said no. I explained that I was a long time costumer and purchased products for my business all the time. They still said no even after going to her manager. I will not do business with a company like this!!

Just went in to see what kind of specials they had. AND to my surprise came out with an $80.00 stool (with a back) for just $30.00. Plus I got a very nice $24.00 set for $12.00. And several other items. I love the store. And the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only drawback is they have this one in Arnold, Missouri and we live in Sikeston, Missouri, which is about roughly 100 to 120 miles. Wish we had one in Sikeston.

Very unpleasant experience at the store. Bought a chainsaw. Do not buy any gas powered tools. If the gas powered tools are bad or faulty you cant return or exchange. Buy warranty if you wish. Called customer service they told me that managers should be able to help . Not a case. They wont listen or help. Got my chainsaw back . Came home wont work. Took to the nearest shop. They told me its bad. Not going back to the store , pointless. The Northren Tools is dead to me now.

Waited 20 minutes for someone to assist me on the floor because it seems theres only one person working there. When they finally arrived to help me to spend another 5 minutes talking to somebody on the phone that called in to help them instead of me who drove there. then they were out of stock on something that they showed they had online and when I asked if I could buy the display they said no.

I was in the other day and there were probably at least 4 employees working. I grabbed my few things and went to the only open checkout up front. The light was on although she was on the phone with some customer. A few minutes passed and her conversation continued even after she told me shed be right with me. No other checkouts opened nor did any other employee take over the phone call. There was a few of us in line by now. I probably stood there for ten minutes before I finally just left all my items on the counter and walked out. Very poor customer service on my last visit. It will be awhile before I go back, if ever.
