Loved the old world feel of the place! Brought in our plant based cheese and plant based pepperoni and had a lovely pizza!! Just amazing friendliness while we waited and it did not take long for the pizza to be done! Amazing place will visit again!!

A wonderful experience for my first trip. Two Milanos made as I requested on soft bread. The customer service was on point and the parking was super easy. Outdoor dining options and curbside pickup reduced the crowd size in there.

Offers a reasonably large selection of Italian foods and snacks. We purchased several sandwiches to go (order ahead for pickup or grab-n-go pre-made sandwiches only due to COVID). My sandwich bread was a bit tough; jaws got a good workout. Pizza appeared to be popular as well. Prices are a bit high on some items, so bring adequate funds.

Busy busy busy, and yet, the staff know how to manage the crowd and the door. OTOH, not all customers observe the proper social distance protocols. If you know the place, the menu as well as the layout, you can actually get in and out quickly. First and foremost, the food, both the deli-counter sandwiches, and the freezer case prepared foods, are top notch. One visit is all you will need to become a convert.

I am SO glad we decided to check out the Italian Store today. First of all, the smells wafting from the store are enough to make you both curious and very hungry. My husband and I got subs for dinner, and they were FANTASTIC. It was around $10 each for their large hot subs, which is 100% worth it, because the sandwiches were well stuffed and delicious. I had the chicken parm on a hard roll, as suggested by Paul at the counter. Even the bread was amazing. I somehow managed to stop eating long enough to grab a couple photos. It doesnt look like much here, but I think that was the best chicken parm sandwich Ive ever eaten.We will definitely be making this a regular stop from now on!

I walked in here to order a sandwich and all I asked was for them to scoop the bread out and toast it for me and they told me that they cannot make any custom ordered sandwiches on the spot and then you have to call it in or go into their website.Just what? If you have to do all that for a sandwich, somethings wrong.

Loved it! This place is in the cutt and does not standout at all, but you will be doing your taste buds a grave disservice if you fail to pay The Italian Store a visit. Where else can you buy a TUB of Nutella... I will be back, and you should go.

Good subs but the ‘Clarendon bro’ attitude on all the ‘could care less’ employees has eventually turned me off. You’ll be lucky to get eye contact or any effort to be friendly. If you can look past that then be my guest.

Best subs anywhere and I live in New York....

The Italian Store has THE best sandwiches in the DC area! The pizza is also great and I am Italian and from NY! This place is always mobbed at lunch so if you are headed there call in your order at least 20 minutes ahead. My only complaint for this location is the checkout staff could be a little friendlier, the staff behind the counter making the sandwiches is always excellent.

Food is great. Love to run in here for sandwiches pizza Italian sundries. However, Customer Service needs improvement. The cashiers could smile and be more helpful. Thats why I couldnt give them a 5*

Listen, Im from the Bronx. I have tried all kinds of pizza since moving away from NY 6 years ago. This is, by far, the best place for pizza I have ever seen outside of my own favorite pizza spot in NY. You see that picture? Thats a half eaten slice from an X-Large pie from here..all for me.

The Best Place for anything Italian!!! Let the subs speak for themselves, grab a slice to go, the cookies at the register are bomb, the wine selection is amazing, and the staff are phenomenal. For a real treat order a whole pizza and grab some oreo cookie cookies or toffee cookies. One other secret: always grab an extra sub on a hard roll for tomorrow!!! You will thank me later

Best place to grab some ingredients for Italian food, or just get something from their awesome deli. Either way, dont forget to grab their cannolis on the way out. Easily accessible by bike, or foot, off the Custis Trail.

This place is 20 miles from my home and 100% worth the trip no one seems to know that awesome bread is a major part of what makes a great sandwich this place understands this by far the best Italian sub in VA.

I used to love the Italian store but my experience this afternoon was like walking into a nursery school and expecting productivity. No adults anywhere. The ticketing system is gone for some reason. And there were 8 kids talking behind the counter with two of them doing real work. By the time I was able to check out with a sizable amount of groceries, the lone pizza slice we were going to share on the way home was cold. Shameful.

Best Italian subs pickup and eat. Store has one of the best ITALIAN ingredients in NOVA.

I had a meatball and cheese sub and I was served by Ben. I have been coming to Italian store for 25 years and I have to say its been a long time since somebody really made my sandwich correctly. Im very picky about how my meatball sub is made and Ben did a 100% perfect job hes awesome.

OMG!!! Best Italian sub sandwiches ever!!! Also, they have a small market that sells hard to find foods specific to Italian cuisine....and at reasonable prices.

I love the Italian store. One of my favorite delis in Nova, you cant go wrong here. Great subs and if youre cutting carbs I highly recommend the salad. Very generous with the meat. Pizza is pretty good too.

I always love getting a sub from the Italian store when Im in the area. If you want a customized sub just be sure to call ahead since during COVID they are mostly doing pre-made Subs that you grab & go.

We have been here many times and the food is always good. Im not sure if its not dealing well with stress but they were super rude. Thankfully, there are about a gazillion pizza places that are as good in close proximity.

Tiny little deli/grocery store off Lee Highway that has the most authentic and tasty subs! During COVID-19 they are only offering made-ahead subs, so you cant customize at this time, but even made ahead, the subs are exceptional. It smells great in here!

I wanted a Milano sub with no dressing, but was told they do not take custom sub orders in-store. So, I walked outside and called the store to order my custom sub and it was ready within 1 minute. Kind of annoying but in the end I had my sandwich.

We came to this restaurant for a meeting. my friend recommended this place. Well, it was very successful. we were warmly welcomed by the crew and we had a great feeling. The meal was great. We had a great time and we will visit this place again. We recommend this place to all.

Been going here for years and always have enjoyed great subs w/quality deli meat but now visits limited only to several of top pre-made options on their menu in baskets on deli counter along with pizza options due to COVID. Some great rare European beer and other unique Italian options make it a great place to pick up things for a date night or picnic at one of many local parks. Only benefit to current times is you are in and out much faster and not relegated to taking a number and waiting to be called like at some military base barber shop (an homage to my childhood years as a military brat).

The best sandwiches hands down. My father took me there when he was an Arlington County Police Officer. Sweet hot peppers, ask for extra everytime.

How is it I have not been to this place yet. I mean, I wish I had known sooner. That sub was AMAZING and well worth the cost. Best sub Ive had in a VERY long time. Bread so stale it was like tearing brittle leather. Needed drinks of water to swallow it. Gross. Mediocre standards here.Cheaper than Petsmart though, get one for your dog to chew on, itll last longer than their other toys.
