I called and was able to get a same day appointment for an eye exam. The eye doctor was thorough. I was able to get my current glasses adjusted to stop slipping off my face for free. The gentleman at the front desk, Mateen, was super friendly and helpful. I wasnt sure if I wanted to get new frames or not and he was patient and understanding. At his suggestion, I ordered the new glasses lenses and I can decide later if I want them put in my current frames or buy new frames. Definitely recommend this place!

Went to get my annual eye exam done. Scheduling was super easy through their website. Front desk staff was very polite and helpful. Waited for about 10 minutes after I checked in. Dr. Mahal was great! Very professional and knowledgeable.

Went here for the first time a few months ago and absolutely love it! The staff and doctors are so kind and helpful and they have a great glasses selection. They also price matched my contacts from 1-800-contacts, saving me some hassle. I highly recommend!

I went here for an eye exam/contacts exam. It was my first time getting a contacts exam done, so I wasnt sure what to expect. Dr. Mahal was very friendly, patient, and explained things well. The employee at the front desk (Mateen) was also super friendly and patient. I mostly came to this location out of convenience, so Im glad that everyone was friendly.My issue with my visit, and the reason Im not giving a higher rating, is that I was charged $39 for a class on how to put contacts in and take them out. For a 2-minute demonstration on how to put in/take out contacts, I dont think $39 is a fair charge. I wasnt even told beforehand that thered be a charge for the class, so I feel a bit cheated.

Mateen in particular was super helpful and took his time to explain all of my expected insurance and out-of-pocket expenses. Doctor during my appointment was thorough and took her time to help answer all of my questions. Great team at this location!!

The office was professional, clean and friendly. Dr Mahal went above and beyond with her knowledge and care. Mateen, the office manager, managed to find me a perfect pair of glasses that have gotten me many compliments. The technicians were efficient and friendly. I will definitely be going back and understand why their ratings are 5 stars over and over again!

Cannot recommend this place enough! There are a lot of options in the DMV but don’t hesitate making an appointment here. The front desk staff was kind, helpful and attentive! The visit with the doctor was the best I’ve had - she walked me through all the tests I took and explained what was actually happening in the test. Once I checked out the front desk helped me with any questions I had and made trying glasses on fun! Def have found my new doc!

My family has been beyond pleased with the service here. Dr Mahal is very kind and attentive, and figured things out for my eyes that no previous doctor has listened to my concerns on. The office staff has been super helpful and accommodating - helping my children to choose glasses and working with our insurance for the best deal. They have also been able to see us quickly and have a super quick return on glasses and contacts. Very happy to have found this optometry office!

The entire Visual Health team at the Ballston location is amazing! They are all super nice, helpful, and quick to answer questions. Dr. Mahal goes out of her way to explain things, and I always leave feeling like Ive learned something new about my eye health.

I had a great experience here at the Visual Health office in Ballston/Arlington, the management/front desk team was very professional and courteous, and have a very welcoming vibe. I have been wearing contacts for about 2 years now and had a very informative and thorough examination from Dr. Mahal. She really took the time to assess my clinical needs from a visual standpoint, I actually found out that my previous prescription was a bit stronger than I actually needed, and that was because she really took the extra step to ensure I have the exact prescription I need. Very satisfied with my experience and I highly recommend you all schedule your annual/bi annual appointments here.

Had a great experience. Learned a lot about the health of my aging eyes. Very knowledgable. Bought two new pairs glasses very satisfied with my purchase. As a consumer experience I was impressed that everyone involved was knowledgable and really enjoyed what they were doing. It was a pleasure, not a pain.

I am new to the area and didn’t have an eye doctor, so when I started having eye issues, I found myself in a panic of finding an eye doctor last minute. Thankfully, a friend at work referred me to Visual Health Doctors of Optometry at their Ballston location and thank goodness she did! I cannot stress enough how immensely kind and helpful they were, from the moment I called to make the appointment and spoke with Schabnam who was reassuring and got me in right away; to seeing Dr. Mahal who was able to examine my eyes, prescribed what I needed and even helped me find a pharmacy where I could purchase the medication I needed for the cheapest price; to the time I left and assisted by the office manager, Mateen, who was also super kind and helpful. I felt so well taken care of and despite it being a hike to get to from my house, I plan on making this office my permanent eye care go to. I’m so grateful and can’t recommend this place enough.

The doctors were good about explaining procedures and answering my many questions as well as taking a second visit for fitting me for the right contacts no questions asked.Mateen was especially helpful in explaining what my insurance covers for glasses and contacts and explaining costs for daily/monthly contacts and different types of lenses and frames.I would recommend this location to anyone needing a new or updated eye exam.

Normally I don’t like going to the eye doctor but this was so easy and painless (talking about the puff test lol). The doc helped me by switching me into dailies and making it easier to change out my contacts (simply popping them out after a night of drinking is the best).Getting glasses was so fun with Mateen - he is a gem and helped me at the previous locations as well. He always makes sure it’s not just the style of glasses to look for but also comfortability and vision clarity - he pushed me to get out of my comfort zone with my style and I LOVE my new glasses. Love this eye doctor / glasses store!!

The Office: Visual Health Doctors of Optometry in Ballston is a really easy place to like, and Im glad I discovered them. The office is new and clean, and the two front desk people are friendly and helpful. Everyone was careful to wear covid masks appropriately, and surfaces were cleaned, etc. I saw Dr. Mahal, and she was very knowledgable and thoughtful. There are little clear shields between the patient and doctor side, so it feels as safe as possible. I opted for the extra blindspot test and optical nerve imaging (cost is outside of my vision coverage), and she explained the results and what it meant very clearly.Parking: The office is located right next to the Target parking garage, on the street level. I believe they do _not_ validate parking, but street parking is generally available outside, and I parked for $3 on the street. If you find a spot on the street its probably the easiest, and maybe about the same cost.

I have been a patient at Visual Health for years, and I am very glad that a new office showed up closer to me. I had the same great experience as the other locations. I had been pushing off my eye exam because of COVID fears but I was extremely satisfied with the precautions they had in place. I highly recommend VIsual health at any location but can verify that this new office is just as good as their other locations!
