Lisa has high standards for the items she accepts for consignment and the prices are unbeatable.Lisa also goes above and beyond to ensure her customers are happy. Recently, I called and asked if she had certain items for my upcoming deployment. She opened the store (that had been closed for three weeks!) just for me to browse for what I needed. Everyone in our family has found something here, high-end ski coat, bike jerseys, Northface fleece, Patagonia hiking shirts, and more. All great deals. We have also sold good stuff that the kids/teens outgrew before much wear.

Ive been a bit of an outdoor gear collector for years now - my wife would say I have an issue - and finally found Lisas, store by chance, to rid my basement of excellent gear but also find great stuff including rare and hard to find items. One of the best local outdoor resale stores. I only shop here for my hiking and camping goods, as the prices are fair and it supports and greatly run local business. High quality goods, with some of the leading outdoor brands in stock. Would highly recommend for any outdoor enthusiasts in the DC-Metro area; a high step up from your local REI or sporting goods store.

I was found Second Ascent today and came home with three high-quality cotton blouses and a nice jacket for Fall weather. It’s a store that features outdoor gear (trail-friendly clothes, boots, rain coats, tents, sleeping pads, etc), all top quality brand stuff. I was just looking for sturdy casual wear for women and they had what I needed, at a quarter of what it might cost new. Nice store.

Fantastic little find! Picked up a Burton pack and a pair of hiking boots for just a few bucks, and the owner Lisa was delightful to talk to-- even recommended a few nice adventuring spots in the area! Its a relaxed shop and youll definitely find something nice there, even if you werent looking for it. Recommend wholeheartedly.

She has become a fast friend as well.Second ascent has constantly changing inventory so you have to go back often!Every piece is inspected for quality before it hits the floor. Nothing is of poor quality. And often things are brand spanking new at a fraction of the price!We also take gear in often for consignment. You get great prices for your gear. Going skiing for the first time ever, and didnt want to pay full price for brand new snow gear. Second Ascent had everything I need at unreal, low prices. I got the freshest ski pants and an L.L Bean ski jacket! Cant wait to go back for more

This is such a great store! The prices are great and the owner is very friendly and helpful. I got a pair of Oakley military boots in great condition for only 38 dollars! I would recommend this store to anyone who likes the great outdoors, as there is a variety of different high quality items to check out for great prices! Some of the items are even brand new and the used items are in great shape.

Nice little shop carrying second-hand outdoor apparel, boots/hikers, packs, travel/trail books, and some gear. Lots of Patagonia, NorthFace, and the like. Everything looks clean and is in good shape. The owner was very friendly, and quite helpful to another customer looking for something specific and needing assistance. As an consignment shop, the selection of items in stock and their sizing is hit or miss. Definitely worth checking out; I will certainly be stopping in periodically to look around.

Theyre having a going out of business sale and as such the selection is limited. However, if youre in the market for used camping/climbing gear this is the place to hut up while its still open!

What a wonderful store! I had been planning to visit this forever - its been open almost a year! High quality gear for camping, hiking including hiking shoes, sandals, some everyday high quality clothes (Royal Robbins, Northface), and more - but at GREAT prices! Also sleeping bags, camp stoves, well - lots of stuff. Really nice owner. Highly recommend you visit this shop! I hope to go there often!

Love this little consignment shop with the unique concept of selling outdoor adventure clothing and gear. Clothing includes options for men, women, and kids. Consigning there is also straightforward and easy.

Super small store. Prices are a bit high for used stuff. And I found the woman owner to be rather unfriendly and rude when it came to answering questions about her merchandise. Maybe Im used to quality customer service, but all she seemed to care about was the sale. I did not have a good experience there, and I do NOT recommend this place.
