Got a selection of 6 cupcakes from here, and we were impressed. The cakes are generally light, with the chocolate ones a little more dense. Flavors are on point, and these are not overly sweet. Theyre just right! The line up based on favorite was 1. Coconut Pandan 2. Strawberry shortcake 3. Red velvet with butter cream 4. Vegan chocolate strawberry 5. Devils food 6. Salted caramel chocolate. Still would live to try the taro, so next time. Thank you Chris for helping me make my selection!!!

I wanted to try a new cupcake spot, so I traveled to VA from MD. This place was definitely worth the hour drive. OMG!! The cupcakes were so good, but the cookies were out of this world!!! If you are a cookie lover like myself, you are going to put them at the very top of your cookie list! I promise you! I only got two cookies, but next time go I promise you I going to get 8!! 😋 And I promise you, I am not going to share!! 🤪 (I don’t have a picture of the cookies because I ate them so fast!)

Fantastic little bakery and a hidden gem in Clarendon. Ive only had a chance to try a few different offerings but their Vietnamese chocolate cake, key lime cheesecake, and macarons are all superb. Everything is quite fresh and everything—flavors, textures, balance—are all superb. Really decent espresso and coffee offerings as well.They have indoor and outdoor seating available and theres usually space to find a seat. An absolute must if youre visiting the National Capital Region!

Delicious cake! We ordered a taro flavored cake with peanut butter icing topped with coconut flakes. Yes, a strange combo, but I was curious. The icing had a very strong peanut flavor and wasnt too sweet. The cake was delicious, but the taro flavor was very light even when eaten on its own. It resulted in a very peanut flavored cake, sadly. Planning to get taro flavored icing with the taro cake next time.The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The store has a big divider on the counter, with a slot to push through the baked items.Update: The taro whipped cream cake is absolutely delicious!!

One of my favorite new finds in Virginia! This is the Taro whipped cream cake (taro cake and taro whipped cream), known to me as a piece of heaven. I’ve never seen this at another bakery but these guys deserve a reward. Light and moist, not overwhelming and kept you wanting more. The Bakeshop has an endless menu of must haves. Other favs are the peanut butter-Nutella pudding and the key lime pie.

Great shop for vegan delights! I love the vegan cupcakes. I have also ordered vegan cakes in the past from Bakeshop and they were delicious too. I highly recommend this place.

I went here and got a breakfast sandwich and cupcake. The sandwich was delicious, warm croissant, ham, egg and cheese. The staff were friendly and polite, and there were about 8 or so seats and tables inside.Parking in the street immediately outside, not overly crowded and efficient service. I will certainly be going back.

I love the friendly service, and the layout is nice. I ordered some macarons that were all great. I did not very much like the coffee, which was advertised as a Vietnamese iced coffee, but it tasted nothing like that. Maybe a different espresso drink would be better.

Rich and wholesome cookies, cupcakes and other desserts. They also have cakes made to order for special occasions. Our favorite is their Oreo in a blanket which is an Oreo wrapped inside cookie dough and they heat it up for you. Not only is it delicious , but our cats name is actually Oreo so we thought wed add this picture of Oreo in a blanket.

Visited the bake shop with family while we were in town. We loved the deserts and the coffee was also great. The staff was very friendly and pleasant.

I called a week ahead to see if they could deliver some cupcakes to my husband on Valentines day. They took my order and said they needed to verify a driver before payment. An hour later, they called back with a driver and took my payment info. The driver arrived within 20 minutes of my requested time. Husband said the cupcakes were delicious and a nice surprise. So, everyone is happy with the Bake Shop on Fillmore right now!

I can only speak for the cake we got for a birthday and a breakfast we got from here. I thought the cake was a bit dry and overpriced for what it was. The breakfast (croissant and coffee) was good though!

We love coming in here for a quick sugary treat. Usually, this comes in the form of a variety of fresh cookies. We are a big fan of their brown-butter chocolate chip cookies, as well as their oatmeal raisin, snickerdoodle, and cranberry walnut. They are always soft, flavorful, and most importantly available! (rarely sell out) Highly recommend for anyone in the neighborhood looking for a sweet treat.

I discovered this bakery from a write-up in the Washington Post, and it did not disappoint. The Nutella Peanut Butter Pie is so so good. My other favorite is the banana pudding... When I called back to inquire about this, they said, Oh, we didnt have any more regular oatmeal cream pies, so we just put a vegan one in your order. But you can come back and get a refund. (3 stars)---------------------So, the next day I received a message from Alyson:Were so sorry about what happened and would like to correct the problem across the board....If you dont mind letting us know what date you were in the shop...This will also help figure out who was working so we can better advise the staff on issues like this....It always helps us to hear back from customers so we can fix issues like this - thanks for giving us the chance to make it right.Im changing my review from 3 stars to 4 stars now. One of the best bakeshops I have been to in the DMV area. Feel like this place is a hidden gem! I really liked how this bakeshop carry the usual American baked goods then also have Asian flavors-- which was a shocker as soon as I saw taro cake slices and cupcake!! They also have a limited quantity of Vietnamese Coffee cake slices. Their red velvet cupcake is on point and their banana pudding is sooo good-- one of the best I have had though it was a bite pricey for the size. Cupcake and cake icing was also not too overly sweet. Service was quick and friendly.Highly recommend everything I have had so far: red velvet cupcake, taro cake, Vietnamese Coffee cake, tres leches cake and banana pudding.Would definitely come back when strolling around Clarendon.

My favorite place in the area for macarons! Ive tried out a few others but noticed they all were store-bought. This cute lil spot has fresh-tasting macarons of all sorts of fun flavors like birthday cake, pistachio, cookies n cream, taro, and more. Theyre crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside, with a lovely creamy center no matter which flavor you choose. Definitely on the pricier side, like upwards of $25 if I remember correctly for a dozen. But! This is not a true complaint for me, as I will continue to purchase these over and over again. Just a heads up for anyone who likes to mentally prepare before spending money lol. Ill have to try their other baked goods, its just that the macarons are my weakness!

Got an iced coffee and their banana bread and it was so delicious I think I went to heaven! Bread was very moist, definitely recommend for a quick breakfast.

Macarons were excellent! Sadly, the cupcakes were extremely disappointing. The icing was good (not too sweet) but the cake was incredibly dry. Tried the macarons first so the cupcakes were a shocking let down, won’t get them again.

I enjoyed the croissant breakfast sandwich!

When it comes to baked good, this is where I shop. They have the best baked good ever and I do recommend you try them out if you get the chance.

The desserts are delicious! I ordered 5 different macarons and a pumpkin cupcake. The colors of the macaron are bright and colorful, and the taste is awesome. The outside of the macaron is crisp, while the cream in the center is smooth and not overly sweet. I could eat all the macarons, but would probably end up sugar high.The pumpkin cupcake was delicious! The bread part was soft and delicious, and the flavor was terrific. The cream on the cupcake wasnt too sweet, and it blended well together.Overall, this dessert spot is terrific and I will definitely try their ice cream sandwich next time. The price is pretty average for these pastries, and would definitely recommend checking out.

This was my go-to dessert place in the DMV—want some pudding? Check. Macaron? Check. Cupcakes? Pies? Ice cream sandwiches? Cake? Cookies? Check... My favorite macaron is the PBJ, I love both the chocolate Oreo and banana pudding, the Nutella pie is amazing, but the salty oat apricot and pb pillow cookies have my heart. My favorites include the vegan cupcakes, Vietnamese coffee whipped cream cake, chocolate pudding, ice cream sandwiches, and iced coffee. I would highly recommend Bakeshop if you’re looking for a sweet treat!

So I rarely post reviews for things because most of the time, its not necessary. You order or pay for something, you get it, and nothing really needs to be said or done unless there is a major issue. The difference here is that baked goods are kind of a big deal for me and while the experience I had wasnt horrific, it wasnt accurate to the other reviews Im seeing here.First, let me preface this with the staff when I came to pick up my order were great. They were super attentive and answered some questions I had, they were all wearing masks, and they got everything squared away perfectly with minimal wait for anything. They were definitely on top of things in the shop.The reason for a 2 star review is that while their baked goods look nice, (specifically their cupcakes) the cake part itself is extremely bland, and the icing (both buttercream and whipped) were just horrible. Ive been to a number of bakeries and this was by far the most disappointed Ive been with somewhere so highly rated. I ordered a number of different types, and brought them home to share with the people I live with (about 15 minutes away from the store), and everyone agreed that they all tasted about the same with little variance, and that the icing was subpar.Now Im not sure if I got a bad batch, or something happened that day to make things different, but I see a lot of reviews for the cupcakes saying theyre excellent so Im very confused and felt that something else needed to be said. We were all sort of looking forward to this, but ended up not even eating the last 2 (of the 6) that I bought.If youre coming here for a nice treat, maybe try the macaroons or coffee instead.

Someone (we dont know who) recently dropped off two boxes of cookies to our office and OH MY GOD! They were out of this world! We get a lot of treats in our office but these cookies were definitely a step above - and everyone in the office agreed. Thank you to whomever gifted us :)

Their delicious cakes look to die for- been trying to get my hands on a chocolate chip cookie dough slice. Coffee and tea drinks also very good, love the new blueberry London fog. Eye-popping delicious. Like when you take a bite you make this face 😳because everything is unbelievably good. Red velvet with chocolate cream beats the competition (which is saying a lot). Milk Chocolate pudding is a grown ups delicatessen. Macaroons are very good too! Tea is perfect (we had lavender decaf and it was bright strong and great flavor smell and taste).Really fun and relaxing place to hang out, ambience is spot on. Green plants on wood, with interesting books (we were looking through a photography book called “Humans of New York”), and music that is fun calm and not abrasive.Service was excellent too - great suggestions/recommendations, quick, friendly and helpful.

This is ABSOLUTELY the best bakery in the DC area. The owners live on the street and are super committed to the community. Go buy the Vietbrew which is half vietnamese coffee/half cold brew. Its amazing. Also, their white cake is such a staple for birthday parties. Cannot recommend more :)

The cake I ordered for my husbands birthday was phenomenal and their customer service was exceptional. Wouldnt hesitate to order another cake from Bakeshop! They also have a great curbside pickup process.

As a cupcake lover I wanted to try this bakery. Simply put the cupcake was nasty and dry. It tasted like it was old and baked the day before. It was not fresh. The frosting was not good either and I could taste the oil in the butter cream frosting that tasted like it had been in the refrigerator and not fresh. I was gonna go back and ask for a cookie to replace the cupcake. I just decided to chalk it up.

Ordered the strawberry shortcake whipped cream cake for my fiancées birthday, and it was fantastic! They are also attentive to detail, they noticed my message was written in red icing not pink (I may not have noticed) but totally rewrote it and gave me a coffee for the trouble. Can’t wait to get another cake from here!

The best bakery around! My gotos are the brown butter chocolate chip cookie and the vegan pumpkin loaf. The staff are all friendly and have done an amazing job transitioning through COVID protocols.

I am always struggling to give a gift to one of my best. She is super picky with everything and she is vegan. I have researched what to buy her as little gift, I found Bakshop. I had some cupcakes for myself first and It was sooooooo delicious. and I got vegan oatmeal cream pie cookies. She loved it. it was my first time seeing her loved something lol. anyway highly recommend this place!!

My son placed an order for a graduation gift and when he went to pick it up, the business had temporarily closed down. He did not receive a phone call prior to advise him that it was closing down. He just saw a note on the door stating it was closed down.They have taken the money from his account and he has not heard one word from anyone at the business to apologize or explain how he is to get his money back.This is very poor business!

Love the Bakeshop, but the brookies were raw in the middle today. Wont stop me from going back, but might check them before I drive an hour home.

Such a great bakery. I ordered from here during the pandemic and their online ordering system is very efficient and keeps things clean. The Vietnamese ice coffee was the most delicious coffee I ever had (also shout out for compostable straws). The oaty chocolate chip cookie was warm and soft when I got it. A little messy as far as the gooey chocolate so make sure you have a napkin on hand. Overall I love this place and would definitely return

It was nice looking cake but it was very dry and underwhelming for the price that was paid. Also since the bakery was closed to customers u had to pick up at the door which one I was not informed of so I was waiting outside in the heat for my order but also the worker thought it was sanitary to bring my cake out unboxed and out in the open to show me it outside the door prior to boxing it up. I get the jester of making sure Im satisfied but if ur trying to be sanitary and not allow customers in you definitely should not have my cake outside in open air like that. It was very disturbing but I didnt even have time to say something/worry about it because I was in a rush.

Obsessed is an UNDERSTATEMENT to how I feel about the cake I got from here. I walked in (3 customers at a time right now) and the smell was to die for. They have cookies, cupcakes and specialty sweets ready all day for pick up. I got a brookie and it was perfect. Melt-in-your-mouth chocolate brownie, it was ooey-gooey and delicious.The real reason I came here was for a cake. I ordered 48 hours in advance and it was ready a few hours early! If you love Oreo you have to get devils food cake with cookies and cream frosting. I was on a diet before my wedding so the day after, I ate about 10 servings-I couldnt stop myself, it was SO good!!!! The Oreos on the outside were crunchy and real Oreos!! (Not a knock off brand) I left instructions on how I wanted the cake to look and it came out exactly as I described!I also ordered Vegan cupcakes that my guests said tasted amazing!!The staff working is extremely friendly and helpful :)I definitely recommend this place for any sweets your looking for and (unfortunately for my jeans) I will be back again!! I recently had breakfast at the Bakeshop. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese croissant. It is a must have! You will need to order online for pick up. Theyre not allowing customers in. Staff is friendly as well.

They have personalized service and a welcoming home-like environment. They treat you as if you were a friend, and not a customer. Cupcakes were crafted and my croissant was fresh. Wonderful job Bakeshop team.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE & I WILL NEVER BE A CUSTOMER OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT EVER AGAIN! Ordered a birthday cake that was supposed to be delivered at 12:30pm. When I placed the order, I told them they would have to call me upon arrival in order from me to actually get the cake because I live in an apartment. Never received a call! 30 minutes past the scheduled delivery time, I call they say the driver is “almost there.” Another hour goes by, I call again, they say they are going to “check on it.” NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK! The driver left the cake with God knows who! $68 for this horrible service!!

I don’t ever post reviews, but the birthday cake that my twin sister received for her bday party was very very dry. I only feel the need to say something because of all of the good reviews...this could have been a one off but it was unsatisfactory especially for the price that was paid.

I visited this bakery today to pickup vegan cupcakes for my daughters 20th birthday today. Everything looked so delicious! The people that work there are the absolute best, very friendly and helpful.
