The service was slow at first, seems like new hires, but all the servers were friendly and got our order right. The sparkling wine and rose selection was fabulous! The reds and ports section was less than desired, especially for a speciality place. The food was delicious! The cheese selection was better to buy to go home, than to dine in which was puzzling.

Im sort of dumbfounded by Cheesetique if Im being honest. As a store, Cheesetique is adorable. They have a nice little wine selection that perfectly pairs with a way above average cheese selection. But this is where my review ends because, as a restaurant/eatery theyre...well...theyre not. At least they werent. We arrived on a Sunday during a perfectly normal dining hour and they just didnt have a chef. People were eating, somehow, but I was told we couldnt be seated at the many available tables because there was no chef. So we didnt eat at Cheesetique. It was kind of a bummer. Oh well. On to the next!

The Cheesetique hosts amazing virtual classes, and I highly recommend attending! This is our favorite virtual date-night activity. They make it so easy to order, pick up, and enjoy. Recently we attended the Truffle Cheese Class. For a very reasonable price, we indulged in four delicious truffle cheeses and enjoyed a beautiful Burgundy red wine. Seriously the best cheese we have ever tasted! I cant wait for the next class.

An incredible rip off.Look at the measuring cup in your kitchen. $13+ tax and tip per 1 cup serving of lukewarm macaroni and cheese. ($26 for two!) The macaroni and cheese was fine - I assume it might have been better hot, but it couldnt survive the 4 minute drive home. Maybe youre paying for atmosphere, which really isnt feasible with the takeout menu. Either way, the food I received was absolutely not worth the cost.Eat before you go.

I have been wanting to eat here for years. I took my wife and daughter for lunch, and I must say it was delicious. My daughter had the kids grilled cheese with grapes. She loved the grilled cheese and the grapes came in a cut little bowl. My wife had the Grilled Caprese sandwich and French onion soup. She was in heaven. I had the Grown Up grilled cheese and gazpacho. It was a match made in heaven. This was the best grilled cheese I have even eaten. The atmosphere was so relaxed. I felt like I was in France enjoying a meal at the local corner eatery. I will be returning.

Long wait time (took 30+ min to receive our food) and weird service (we debated about if the server was high or just socially awkward). But the food itself is delicious and its a nice atmosphere being in the little alley. Plus the shop is always great to pick up special pantry items especially when I need a gift, so they earn a star back for that!

I want to like this place, but the service is a disaster. Went with my two young daughters to support local business after the Art on the Avenue power outage fiasco. Ordered a glass of wine and mac and cheese up front (they were out of multiple items) and asked for the check. Who knows when a baby is going to meltdown and detract from this cool experience for others? The table next to us, who was seated after us, got their mac before us, after maybe 10min? After half an hour and multiple reminders, I had to walk in and pay the check. Didnt wait around for the mac. My last experience was equally disappointing.

Mount Vernon Ave is home to the original Cheesetique. Part cheese store, part wine shop and bar and finally part restaurant. Fortunately, it all seems to come together fairly well. Many of the menu items feature cheese. It is a good place to order a cheese sandwich and enjoy a glass of wine. Cheesetique gives you some tasty chocolate morsels to finish to meal (and maybe swish down your last drops of wine). Service on my visit was friendly and efficient. This is a nice place to casually enjoy a long lunch.

A phenomenal and unique stop in Del Ray! Of course they are all about cheeses, but their beer and wine selection was great as well! All of the food was incredible and they might have gotten my vote for most flavorful gourmet cheesesteak!! Besides the original in Philadelphia, I have tasted cheesesteaks all over the country and this may have been my favorite. I will certainly be returning to Cheestique to try more items on their menu.

A Lushs Dream,Wine galore, cheese aplenty my fellow lushes! I walked into this store and felt right at home. From the counters hosting every cheese imaginable to the impressive craft bottles of wine, this store is a lush’s dream. Located on a quaint street of Del Ray in Alexandria, VA, Cheesetique is the perfect casual spot for your night out with friends. But wait! Don’t just order by the glass! Since 2004, Cheesetique has perfected the art of making a lush feel comfortable in their natural habitat and offers delicious bottles of wine at a reasonable price (seriously if you’re going to have 3 glasses just buy the bottle!). Cheesetique knows the average lush means business. Are you worried about walking home straight after partaking in the earth’s glorious grape juice? Well don’t worry! Cheesetique’s got you my lush compadre! I DID mention CHEESE earlier. Well, finish that bottle off with, guess what? Your own GROWN UP grilled cheese! Slap one of those gooey delights in front of you, or a Sassy Goat and you’ll greet your significant other after a night out of schmoozing like a champ!

Id ordered delivery before for dinner, and liked it. I assumed a grilled cheese wouldnt travel well that way, so I hadnt tried those. I was out today, and decided to swing by in person. I went to order ahead, online, but wanted to try the pimiento sandwich, which always shows on the website as out of stock. I went in person, and they said they had it, and didnt know it showed out of stock online. It was a bad experience. I waited half an hour for the sandwich. They never updated me, or told me how long to expect. The staff wasnt friendly. Not worth the hassle. I wish Id never checked them out in person; now Id even think twice before ordering delivery.

Decided to walk through Del Ray to see if there was a nice al fresco dinner opportunity. Cheestique has wonderful in/outdoor dining choices. Two cocktails and a nachos pimiento was a wonderful start. Best cheesesteak I have ever had (no, it is not Philly style, but still amazing) upgrade and have the Mac as a side (hey, it is a specialty cheese shop!). Paired it with the unfiltered Collective Arts Life in the Clouds IPA. She loved the Arugula and Goat Cheese Salad paired nicely with a Cal Chard. Yum. Wonderful evening with no room for dessert! My girlfriend and I decided to stop by Cheestique in Del Ray today. We had the privilege of being taken care of by Casey. He was so knowledgeable about the menu and even made suggestions for making our choices that much more tastier. We split the charcuterie board and the pimento grilled cheese. The past year has required so much creativity from small businesses, and no place has been quite as nimble as Cheesetique. Last spring, when cleaning supplies were tough to come by everywhere else, you could stop by Cheesetique for toilet paper, gloves, soap, and sanitizing wipes. (And a good Manchego and some olives, because why waste the opportunity.) Online classes bring cheese tasting into the comfort of your home. And we were blown away by the Valentines Day take-home special - a cheese board with all the trimmings, a fresh salad with cheese-stuffed artichokes, your choice of coq au vin or ricotta gnocchi for the main course, and the best flourless chocolate cake Ive ever tasted, all with thorough and easy-to-follow instructions for at-home preparation. Everything was delicious, and it brought joy to a holiday spent at home.I look forward to the day when we can bring a big group of friends in to share a giant cheese board. Until then, thanks for all the ways youve kept take-out for two fulfilling and exciting!

There is a wide variety of wines available, and the menu is great. Ive had a couple of grilled cheeses, the fondue, and the mac & cheese, and Ive enjoyed every one of them. I LOVED my experience at Cheesetique. The store/restaurant had fantastic atmosphere even on a weekday! We were sat quickly and served promptly. The cheese selection is both robust and high quality. I am a cheese lover, so this is high praise from me. We ordered the cheese tray (as pictured). The variety was lovely and the three cheeses (3 different textures and strengths) were all delectable. The mac n cheese sizes are a little small for the price $15. But the flavor is very nice. They have a decent happy hour and SO many wines on display and for consumption. Although lacking the Parisian charm, this restaurant is doing a wonderful job bringing some France to the DMV. Our waiter was helpful, friendly, and prompt. He brought us extra bread. Waited 30 minutes for a cheese/charcuterie board for which I had selected just three items. Was served wrong board, which was taken away, and then waited another 20 minutes for said board. When it arrived, one of the three items was so tough I literally could not cut it with my knife -- it was mostly rind and the kind of thing Id throw into a soup. The honey and date were exceptional. Everything else was fine, but comparable to high-end items at Trader Joes. In sum: a 50 minute-wait for mostly items that simply had to be cut and put on a plate--most of which I could find at my local grocery story--all for the price of $18. Not worth the time or money.
