I went in looking to buy a car from a dealership for the first time. Roddy Escalon was very candid with me as he explained to me that DriveTime is an excellent place to purchase from for someone looking to build their credit, but for my circumstances he suggested that it would be in my best interest to shop around saying that other dealerships could likely suit my needs better. He mentioned a couple times that this would be the advice he would give to his son. In an industry commonly characterized by making the sale at all costs, this was a surprising and welcome departure.

We looked at a Rogue at Alta Mere but found a model with more bells and whistles at the Division location. Next afternoon we showed up and Richard had the car ready to go. My beautiful fiance saw another, a GMC Terrain, and wanted to take it for a spin. Richard didnt hesitate, he got the keys and let us drive her around Cowboy Stadium. An hour later, paperwork is done, down-payment is paid and were driving away in a very clean, low mileage (50,000) Terrain. I have poor credit and they helped me buy a car that same day I applied. I am more then satisfied with the way they handle things and I would definitely recommend them. They say on the site everyone gets approved. This is true! I have been told by various dealers the same BS and they never help me. I have been communicating with Richard the manager at DriveTime in the Arlington location. I told what I was looking for in price, payments, and type of car/suv that I was interested in. I had a appointment on thursday to go look at some vehicles and see what I got approved for. Richard came over and introduced himself to me and was so very professional. I walk in and Roddy is my salesman. My experience from the phone calls to my in person visit has been the most wonderful car buying experience ever. I was not pressured in any type of way. The application process was fast and easy. Roddy was so very professional, patient, and understanding with me. I didnt have all my documents with me but he went on his computer and let me log in and get the information that was needed. Yesterday when Roddy was doing my application and paperwork he treated me like I was the only person in the office. I told Roddy that I was interested in the suv I test drove it and I fell in love with it. He reserved it for me on yesterday for today so I could do the financial transaction today. I went in today I finalized all the paperwork and I am in my new suv. My experience was wonderful. My salesperson Roddy, was very courteous and listened to what I needed. He did not try to sell me something I didn’t want. But showed me options that better helped me with my selection. The other staff were genuinely friendly and didn’t even answer their personal cell phones while assisting me. That’s hard to find nowadays.

If I could give them zero stars I would and do not purchase the Silver Rock extended “warranty” they will not cover anything. I bought a lemon from these people and their customer service people could care less about you. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!

Cory was so nice and helpful, I would highly recommend him. Richard is another issue. I looked at a Ford Fusion test drove it and it was sold to someone else. I made 4 separate trips and didnt get the car I wanted. One time I waited over 4 hours just to be told no I had to wait for a hard copy of an identification card. Went through all this and a promise to hold a vehicle for 3 days only to find out it was sold. My rating is based on all the other associates who seem very incompetent and uncaring in regards to honesty and integrity.
