It’s not often that getting something installed at your house is actually a pleasure but Nick & Daryl are both class acts. Nick spent the time to see what my needs were and explained with great detail what would be better about the new security system and especially the new cameras. No pressure but very helpful and answered questions and responded quickly and accurately. Daryl did the install and was also truly a pleasure to interact with. He is very knowledgeable and even when the older cables and lines were not compatible with the new equipment his attitude & demeanor were excellent! I told him if he wanted to run the cables through the garage rather than getting into the low attic space over my garage I did not have a problem with it. He showed me his work after it was completed and he did not take the short cut I had suggested. Daryl is an exceptionally hard worker and professional in all ways. I’m looking forward to my new system. The cameras and equipment are unbelievably better than what I had previously. If someone were to ask my thoughts on them I would recommend them highly. Mark Tate is a liar!!!!!!! I have been trying to contact the president of the company for 3 weeks he has blocked every attempt Ive made. I sold me a camera system.that is out dated and super poor quality. Im stuck in a contract for a year with guarantees and he refuses to honor them instead forcing me to buy something my contract already guarantees!!!! The most unethical person Ive ever met in my life!!!!! Do not use this company or work directly with him!!!! He is super shady!!!!!!!

We purchased our home in December 2020 so we’ve only had our service for 4 months and so far it’s been great. We were referred to Fortress Security by our Real Estate Agent and Builder. We called Fortress, sign the paperwork, and got our system set up right away. It was a breeze. Now we can monitor our home even when we’re away. Not sure if they’re available anywhere else, but if you’re in the DFW area give them a try.

This company is a racket. The do not clearly disclose the terms or costs of the system. Their customer service is greatly lacking. They are unwilling to workWith their customers. They just want their money. And when they tell you one price, when it comes time to make the change, they throw in extra fees and tell you their is nothing they can do about it. Your safety and that of your family is immensely important in our current times. That is not what Fortress security and their “Customer Relations Managers” are about.

They renewed my contract with out letting me know anything. I notice a couple days after and contracted them to let them know I did not want to renew. They did not care and would not let me out of the contract. Everyone told me it was the General Managers decision but would not let me talk to the him or give me any contact info for him.

Very professional from installation to system monitoring. I have called a few times to talk to their customer service rep and each time he has taken the time to discuss anything that was on my mind in detail and address any concern. Gave us great advice on securing or home and never tried to sell us anything we didnt need. Very happy with fortress after year one so far.

After an armed robbery at our business Kelly came right out and assisted us in upgrading our security system and got us everything we needed to ensure the safety and security of our employees and our store. The monthly fee is extremely reasonable and they have been fantastic in assisting us with training on the new system and are always there to answer any questions. From here on out Fortress Security will be our number 1 choice for our business and our home.

We purchased Fortress monitoring when we were in a bind due to a kidnapping related issue. Despite not wanting a long term contract we agreed because we had an immediate need and no time to bring out another company.Horrible customer service. We have been charged for over 2 years for a home that was sold. When it was time for renewal we were automatically renewed despite telling them we wanted to cancel. Email communication was sent to an email address that is old and all emails sent bounced back to Fortress but they did not follow up with a phone call until they experienced a credit card issue and wanted payment.Zero calls or follow up from this company unless they are wanting payment.We are still being asked to pay for a service that is not being used at all. They expect payment when they have no address to monitor and renewed a contract when they knew the home had been sold. Management stated this is their policy due and would make no exceptions.We rarely rate companies negatively but unfortunately in this case the public should know that the company is functioning with low ethics and regard for customer service.**after writing this review we received a call from management and they are waiving the charges and remainder of the contract. We have updated the review accordingly and appreciate their cooperation and assistance in making this issue right**

Omar quickly responded to my request for information about security for our restaurant and within a week we were scheduled for an installation. Rich came in to install our 4 cameras and very professionally had us fixed up. He made sure our phones and computers were set up and that we understood how to remotely view the cameras. Just wanted to commend Ray Martinez, the tech who came out to look into the recurrent problem causing false alarms especially during electrical storms. Ray was very thorough and his diagnosing, isolating, and fixing the problem made total sense. Time will tell whether his fix resolved the issue.

Rice water Supply is very pleased with the cameras and security system that Fortress Security installed at our company. The cameras make our employees feel safe and having the ability to remotely check on the office and our equipment yard gives us a new level of comfort and safety.

Not happy about their service. The app to control system wouldnt respond it should so would have to re-sync regularly which was a pain. When I called to cancel and stated that I would need something with the remaining balance so could pay off was told I needed to MAIL a letter and I would then receive invoice, instead I was charged for the next month. When I called the person stated that they cancel the monitoring and most people will continue making payments?!! Who does that. I explained that in our conversation I specifically said I needed an invoice because my new monitoring company would be paying the balance of their service. Overall I would not recommend as the person I spoke to was not very customer service oriented more of a dont leave we still want to get your money and to address your complain, you can upgrade to a different unit and pay more. With my new service with different company I got cameras, a remote garage and camera doorbell for same price. See ya Fortress never to return.

I had never heard of Fortress Security until Roger told me about them. He was very informative on explaining everything about the system and I was immediately sold on it. Rich also did an outstanding job on installing everything and explaining how everything works. Glad I ran into Roger when I did, considering i was on the verge of going back to Vivint! I have been a customer of Fortress Security since February 2017. I have just renewed my contract for additional 3 years . . .without feeling the need to shop their fees. Their customer service people are top notch, very courteous and helpful. I didnt feel the need to look elsewhere, Fortress Security is who I would recommend for your Home or Business security needs.

I really love my new system. The rep went an extra step in making sure I had the best deal. I was considering going with ADT, but so glad I didnt. The installer Tony was excellent, explained everything and all equipment was installed so neatly. I got the best value I could have gotten. Im already seeing who I can recommend.

Inherited the service from my homes previous owner and had no major issues during the 2.5 years I used the service. The fee never increased and I had one service visit last summer when it lost connection with a tower.Jacki and Mark were my account reps and both have responsive and easy to work with. No hassles, no issues - would recommend!I am in the process on cancelling and have had no issues there either. If that changes, Ill update this review.

We have been Fortress customers for nearly 8 years and have been very pleased. Fortress was a much better fit than the big brand company we used previously. Weve had prompt response times and great customer service.

I love the system, should have gotten it before. It does give me anxiety to know its a contract, I would rather have had a pay up front cash deal that was unbeatable. The easy no contract sounds a lot better. I would work on this. There was a little bit of miscommunication on installing, didnt even know the date until the day before. I had to do my own research to make sure it was a legit situation because it didnt seem smooth, and I hesitated because of that, I would appreciate not just a business card, but a license card from the sales person. I appreciate the email responses, but I felt it could have been a tiny bit better. I do love the system itself and thank you for that! The rate is affordable! If you call them based on my review, be sure to tell them I sent you over and my name. Thank you for calling and checking on me twice now, I like that a lot too!

I worked for an alarm company so I am well aware of how contracts are written. I asked about trip fees before signing the contract; also I asked if batteries were covered under the service plan. It wasn’t untilI started to have issues with the Savant that there is a trip charge for $59.95. I wasn’t told that Savant only had a one year warranty since it was installed by the builder!

I love the clarity of my new cameras. The camera from my previous alarm company was VERY blurry. I switched over once I saw how much clearer these were. Thank you Fortress and thank you Omar for the change.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this company! This is one of the worst companies I’ve ever done business with. I spent months working with different techs to get the equipment up and running to a fail. I have had multiple technical difficulties with the equipment. Even though I’ve been unable to successfully use the equipment they force me to stay in contract knowing I am frustrated and miserable with constantly dealing with them. I took over this account with a house purchase, biggest regret ever as now I can’t get rid of them!!!! Use ANY other company. The owner is selfish and cares about making a buck not the safety of his clients.

I would give zero stars. I sent in a letter to cancel my service, as requested and required by Mark Tate because we moved. I sent the letter. A month later they call me trying to continue to charge me saying the letter was not received. Im shocked his title is customer relations.I call to speak with the general manager who supposedly processes the cancellations, Jared Smith. He has no email or voicemail.

We had bad experience with her prior customer service employee and we were fortunate to encounter a concerning person named Theresa Bryant (Fortress Security) to whom we are deeply indebted to her concerns for humanity. We were blessed to be introduced to Fortress Security, where we have been treated with great respect and costumer service thus far today, and we are deeply assured that this courtesy will continue through out our new relation with Fortress Security.

I signed a 36 month service agreement with Fortress after being told by a salesperson that I could get out of my contract at any time if I moved to an area not serviced by Fortress (mostly serves Texas and Oklahoma), but I failed to make sure the salesperson made a note of this in the contract. I moved from Texas to Ohio about 12 months into my contract and when I called the company to cancel, I was told that the salesperson no longer worked there, there was no such policy and I would have to pay out the remainder of my contract. After explaining what the salesperson had told me, Fortress worked to find a solution where I felt they met me halfway. Had I not had an issue with the contract, I would give Fortress 5 stars because I was very happy with their product and services.

The contract AUTO-RENEWS and you will get stuck in a loop of paying 30 dollars a month until you physically send a letter to cancel. The best part is you will still owe the full year of payments, even after you send your letter, regardless of your wanting to renew or not! DO NOT USE THE COMPANY! THERE ARE MORE REPUTABLE SECURITY COMPANIES AVAILABLE AT BETTER COSTS TO THE CONSUMER!

I would stay as far away from Fortress Security as possible. Their equipment goes out often for days at a time. Ive had their repairman at my house on several occasions to only provide temporary fixes. The biggest problem you might experience is when the terms of your contract have expired, they will literally try to force you into a 1 year extension even after submitting in writing you no longer want their service. They will offer you a discount and talk nicely until you inform them youve decided to move on to another company. Then their cooperate bullying and threatening tactics begin. Im currently in the process of contacting the BBB and the Attorney Generals Office regarding their business practices. Ive never experienced anything like this before and I cant imagine a company so desperate for business to try forcing a dissatisfied customer to stay once their 36 month contract ends. My advice is leave them alone...if they let you.

Don’t be fooled by these forced reviews. This company is terrible and the system is not so great. You get charged fees every time the system breaks. Terrible and rude customer service and if you get a lady named Brit on the line you are better off hanging up and calling back. There are two compassionate ladies I’ve spoken to but seem to never get to their lines. And if the system breaks over the weekend you’re SOL and unsecured until the following weekday. Even during the week you may have to wait 3 weeks to get a service tech out and you are still charged a fee and unsecured. Avoid the headache and go with someone more reliable

ABSOLUTELY IMPRESSED with my security system. The technician was professional and explained every detail to me and made sure we were comfortable with using it. This was definitely a plus since we were first time users of a security system. The Honeywell products are top rated and integration with other Mfgs was a breeze.

I was unhappy with my previous security monitoring service and after shopping around I choose Fortress Security as my new provider. The choice was influenced by great customer service, price, and features. Weve now had the service for three years and we couldnt ask for anything better. They are quick to call and check on us when we trigger the alarm and always very nice. They seem to care about your wellbeing and safety. The system itself has had no issues and the battery backup has worked perfectly during power outages. The iPhone app works well and is easy to use. Highly Recommended!

Had good, dependable security service with them for 4 years.My 4-yr contract was ending in Oct I planned to switch to the Nest security system, and called to confirm how my contract renewal would work and was told it renewed monthly and I could call any time to cancel.I waited until my new Nest system was active (signed a contract with them too) and called to cancel with Fortress. At that time they told me my contract renewed annually, not monthly and had no record of my prior call.It took weeks of calls and messages, a lot of frustration, and explaining what I had been told, but was finally able to resolve this with the company president who let me out of the contract. Customer service definitely needs improvement, but overall I appreciate my issue was resolved.Overall lesson, pay attention to your contract terms and read it for yourself!

The service tech was prompt , professional and did a great job installing our new key pad, and he did a thourough job explaining on how to operate the system. I would. highly recommend Fortress Security to others.

They offer decent pricing and quick response times for alarm calls, but technical support is lacking. The only free option is to schedule a call WINDOW (not even a discreet time) with a tech between 8a-5p M-F. If, you actually have a job, youre out pf luck! The alternative is to pay $30 to get an in-person appointment (TWO HOUR WINDOW)!? These options are pretty bad.

1st Rate Service!

BEWARE of the hard selling tactics of their sales team and free installation offers. The fine print of the agreement will have you roped into a 3 year agreement. When I tried to cancel after no longer needing their services after a year I was informed that I had another 2 years to pay. Bottom line is they installed 2 key pads and 1 fire detector in our home, we had everything else prewired when we built it and will end up paying $1600 for this equipment and free installation. They have been unwilling to work with us on it either threatening to turn us over to collections.

We purchased a new home recently and the first project in our mind was to find a quality organization that could install, monitor and support a new security and camera system. Most residential security companies that I have encountered are trying to do a one call close and limit the number of devices they install because it creates more work for them resulting in inefficiency ratio’s that are unacceptable to management. Having met a Fortress Security employee years ago, I wanted to do business with someone I knew and trusted. A word of advice to those currently looking for their next security partner; the decision is not just about buying quality products and services at a fair price it’s about the culture of the company you choose to partner with. I should have read the reviews before signing a three year contract with them. Half the time, our system didn’t work and it was too big of a hassle to wait around all day for someone to fix it. When I finally had enough, I sent in a letter to cancel per their request. They continued to charge me for another 3-4 months. Finally, I called in and they claimed that was never discussed. Once I paid out the remaining portion of the contract, they proceeded to charge me sales tax on remaining months even though they weren’t going to be providing any future services (pretty sure this is illegal). I’d save your money and the headache and go elsewhere.

Ive been a Fortress customer for seven months, and yesterday was the first time we had a disruption in service. Fortress sent a tech out this morning, and when he couldnt immediately get our system back up and running, he went back to HQ to get more parts. Robert, our initial account service rep, then called to say a tech would be coming back out the same day to continue to work on the issue as they didnt want us to be without an operable security system. The tech came back in the afternoon, identified the problem as a surge in the electrical output to the system (not Fortress fault), put a surge protector in place, and got us back up and running at no cost for parts and labor. Excellent customer service. If youre in the market, I would definitely recommend Fortress as a reputable and caring security system provider.

Much better security than the Coop provided. Much more economical than the Coop. Everyone has been very helpful with my questions and talking me through the process.

EXCELLENT! This company is incredibleThey are professional, timely and ready to answer any and all questions. We had 4 cameras and a system installed. The installers went over everything with us and were more than helpful. I cant say enough about this company! I have recommended them to numerous neighbors, family and friends.
