Neely Automotive was very quick to answer and return any calls or questions I had. They were willing to work with my schedule and help make some availability for me. They did a quick diagnosis in an hour and gave me an safety checklist of things that needed to be worked on with estimates and time and pricing. These guys would get my recommendation.

I had my 05 Cadillac repaired they chager me for the diagnostic and repairs around $1,500 which is fine but I guess I didnt pay enough to check the transmission fluid because it took less then 2 weeks for the transmission to lock up. They told me they dont check that its not there fault but I pay so much money for them not to even check the car all the way. Now I have no car and Im taken the bus 2 hours to work and 2 to home........Thanks

Broke down in arcata brought our car to Neelys Scott was polite and to the point had us up and running the next day so we could make it home to crescent City he gave us a full diagnosis of the vehicle and said he could fix it but he recommended trading my step daughter car in for a more price friendly vehicle that is easier to work on and the parts are super expensive and shes a student I recomend Neelys based on Scott being a honest up front person its hard to find that these days

If you have ever had to get repairs in Humboldt you know it very hard to find a good mechanic. I have had problems with every mechanic I have been to here until I went to Neelys. They go above and beyond for a fair price. Their work and ethics is the Gold Standard in Humboldt for mechanics. I will never take my vehicles to anyone else again. Highly recommended.

Stopped by while traveling, thinking I had to get a new water pump, prepared to spend the money to get it fixed. The supervisor / owner took a look at it, said the water pump was fine. Showed me a minor problem with an oil leak. Spent time explaining a few other issues with the car. Super helpful, friendly, reassuring, transparent and honest. Wouldnt accept any payment for his time and efforts. They didnt do any work, but got my recommendation just for being so helpful and friendly.

I went in with some overheating issues that I knew was a simple fix and they were fair and honest when they told me it was a simple fix and didn’t charge me to much I’ll definitely go back to them they fixed it up right, might be a tiny bit more expensive than other places but worth it.

I had a stuck window and went to them right at closing - they tried to get to the motor, that wouldnt work so Scott went and figured out the wiring and jumped it up. Know how much it cost? A request to come in for my next oil change. Most spots I know would have charged at least a half-hours worth of labor. Thanks again and Ill be in for an oil change very soon!

Dont trust them. They love to quote you for stuff you dont need and give contradictory diagnosis for which you still have to pay.

Awesome mechanics, i dropped my car off after they closed, they had it running by 3PM the next day, this was all during the holiday season, while HSU is getting out, every other mechanic was packed but they got me on the road very quickly! To top it all off i had no ride to pickup my car and was ready to take the bus, but instead they picked me up and drove me to the shop.Good solid price on the work and part, both are warrantied, no bullshit storys about some crazy crap going on, it was all smooth and proper. they took care of what needed to be done and only what needed to be done.Will recommend to friends and goto during my days in Arcata, Always.Thanks guys!
