This place is scam and trying to ripping off by giving estimates for not y repairs even you do not need it and scare you like you can not drive vehicle out of parking lot. I had steering click noise on my sonata and they estimated cost $2800 and told me to not to drive car. They charged $65 for diagnosis. I declined to do any work then one of technician offered me to purchase my card in $1500. I reviewed other reviews and they do same thing and try to ripping off people who do not have any knowledge of repair cost like very young or very old person. I showed the issue to other service provider and they said its perfect to drive and the part was making click noise on steering cost only $25 and with labor they fixed same issue in $300. They are ripping you off so be aware. Always check with other repair shop before you do any work here. I would say there are so many other loyal service provider give you estimates for repair you need. i never going to use this or their any of locations and i would not recommend it all.

I had a 8am appointment on a Saturday. At exactly 8am they were pulling my truck in the bay. My oil and filter were changed and I was out the door within 30 minutes. I will return as a customer! Good job fellas!

So prior to spending a cent, he treated me and my situation with the utmost professionalism and care. Having recently relocated from Florida to Appleton, I didnt have a car guy...until now. What an excellent experience! I took my car to Tuffy to have the brakes looked at, and to have my windshield washer motor fixed. I didnt know for sure whether it was just the front brakes that needed to be fixed, or whether I needed the back brakes done as well. Matt could have very easily told me that I needed new brakes all around, but he didnt. He was honest and told me that my back brakes were fine. That meant a lot, and goes a long way with me! Theyve got a customer for life! Friendly, honest guys!

I dont know a thing about cars. I also hate cars...because I dont understand them. I worry that this means Ill be swindled into things I dont need. Not here. Not with the entire team at the Appleton Tuffys. Everyone Ive interacted with is kind, patient and willing to take the time to explain things. The best part though, is the owner, Matt (I hope I got his name right...I suck at names!). Matt is not just awesome to work with but each time Ive been there weve had FASCINATING conversation about all sorts of things. Having trust in a mechanic is tough to find - Matt has my trust for sure!

Last Friday my muffler broke and fell in a parking lot close to Tuffys.Instead of calling a tow truck to have my car towed to my mechanic in Oshkosh I saw Tuffys shop and thought I would call to see if they could help me. There is always some nervousness regarding repair shops I have never been too. The head tech said to leave it and they would take a look at it the next day. They called me that next day to let me know what they needed to do to repair it. They said that they were gonna try real hard to save my converter but it wasnt a for sure. I appreciated the fact that he said they were going to try to repair it first instead of trying to get more money out of me. I told them to go ahead and do what they had to do. I received a call early in the day Monday that my car was already done. What a relief. The fast service was amazing and allowed me to get back on the road as fast as possible. When I went in I met Matt and he explained everything they did. I was pleased that they were able to save my converter and he showed me picture of what they did. I felt I wasnt being hosed by a greedy auto shop owner and am so pleased with my service. I have now found an auto shop in the valley I trust and will continue to bring our cars to Tuffys in the future for repairs. Thank you guys so much for your honesty and dedication to getting me back on the road sooner than later. Great job!!

They seemed very knowledgeable and the three people I dealt with were very courteous and nice, but the prices far outweigh that. For a fairly routine job parts were $500 (not too bad), but then labor was almost double that. I spoke with an acquaintance of mine who is a mechanic and I had him look it up and it is only 3.5 hour job, so where did the almost $1k in labor come from? I would not go there again for anything more than an oil change, and I probably wont even do that. Just make sure if you do go here get a second opinion if possible.

If you take your vehicle to this shop for any major work prepare to be disappointed, frustrated, and furious.I had my vehicle towed to this shop after one of my front tires sheared off 4 of the bolts on the wheel hub. I was told by Tim who im assuming is the manager or owner, that it would cost me $1,600 dollars for me to be able to drive off in it. There were many other issues with my truck including breaks and tires, but all I needed was 4 new bolts/lug nuts and a tire mounted for my vehicle to be fixed so I could drive it home.I told Tim that I was thinking about junking it anyways because of all of the other issues. His response was that he would be willing to buy the truck for me for 125$. I was a bit surprised considering the trucks engine and transmission were in good order. I told him that I could get at least 300$ from the local junk yards, and his response was that because China wasnt buying steel anymore that I wouldnt be able to get more that $125 which made me laugh.I went to the shop to talk to him about replacing the wheel hub and mounting a tire. While I was there another customer was just finishing paying and Tim was trying to get the man to leave without giving him a receipt, but eventually relented. Next I talked to him, and was told that he would not work on my vehicle because it was his right to not fix the vehicle if he felt it was not safe to drive off the lot, but in reality it was because I did not want to sell him the truck, and or pay the $1600 to fix the suggested issues.I just told him I would get it towed home by the same company. I had to pay the original towing fee which came to 100$, where upon Tim tried to get me to leave without a receipt or paperwork estimate of what they inspected. Eventually he did give me a receipt, but with great reluctance.So in the end I spent 3 days without a vehicle, no repairs, and almost 200$ in towing fees. This shop is ran by a scam artist and I will never recommend this place to anyone so long as I live.I am filing a report with the better business bureau, and letting the IRS know of potential tax fraud about this business.

These guys were great! So nice and so helpful! I originally brought my car to another place and they told me it would be $1,300 to fix the rear brake system. There was no way I could have afforded that. Tuffy towed my car to their shop and did the work for half the price (huge money saver for this college girl). They really went above and beyond to help me. Definitely recommend these guys and will go there for future help!

I called ahead and brought my car in for what I thought was a moderate problem. Turns out my car needed major repair. Meng was extremely helpful and patient in explaining what exactly needed immediate repair and also provided me an estimate. Matt was a huge help in providing me with financing options. I have been a customer at Tuffy Auto since Dean and Sue first started their business on College Ave. I do my fair share of wrenching on cars, but when I come into a problem that I cannot resolve I get help. Dean has always been a wonderful person to work with. Price very fair, service always timely, quality workmanship, most important VERY HONEST. Good oil change but try to sell things I dont need.

Went in for a winter car care special. Changed the oil and rotated the tires fairly quickly. Also got a new pair of wiper blades. Blades look like the cheap ones at Autozone, but its whatever. When it was all done, they tried to scare me into buying new tires by saying all 4 of my tires had 1/32 tread life left. Shocked that 3 year old tires would be that bald from moderate driving, I went back to Matthews Tire just down the road, where I bought them, and had them check the tires. To which they said all were 5/32 or 6/32 left, pending on spot of checking. After I got home, me being skeptical, I did the penny test as well and most of Lincolns head was in the tread. So for some reason, they tried to get me to buy unnecessary tires? Other than that, they were supposed to top off all fluids, which Ive found my washer fluid was almost empty yet as well as my coolant overflow was at the low mark. The only reason I went here for the oil change was because it was freezing temps, and didnt want to be in my garage. Probably wouldnt go back.

Went into Tuffy with the seasonal coupon which stated I would get a tire rotation. I did not get one and was told that my strong tires on in the back and it was winter so a rotation wasnt done. It was an excuse that made no sense especially since I have front wheel drive.

I am never going to go here again and I recommend you do the same. I called Tuffy up and asked how much it cost for an oil change in a 2015 Nissan Sentra and they said 24.99. I booked an appointment for later in the week and brought it in. I should have turned around the second they told my that not only did the guy who made my appointment spell my last name wrong but also spelled my first name wrong. They asked me if I wanted them to top off my fluids and I said yeah sure if they need it. thinking thats a pretty standard thing that comes with an oil change at most places. I was wrong because that showed up as a 10 dollar charge even though they said the only thing that needed anything was my window wipers. On top of that they added an additional charge for labor bring my quoted 24.99 oil change to a grand total of roughly 44 dollars after tax. Now this isnt enough to get a 1 star review. I understand that the additional charges are more than likely my fault for bad communication. THE PART THAT EARNS THE 1 STAR RATING IS THAT MY CAR STARTED LEAKING OIL AFTER THE OIL CHANGE, SOMETHING i DIDNT NOTICE UNTIL A FEW DAYS LATTER BECAUSE OF RAIN.

Brought my daughters car in and tgey were able to clean and adjust the rear brakes vs replacing everything. Saved us probably $400-600 dollars in parts and labor. Brake-only places would have recommended replacing everything and skip the harder, less costly route.

Went in for an oil change and talked to them about other problems with my car. While the oil change was being completed, they looked at my other problems and described to me what was wrong, recommended how to get them fixed, and gave me a quote. That kind of service is very appreciated because I dont have the time to take my car in a bunch of places to figure out what the problem is. I ended up getting new tires a few weeks later on their recommendation and plan on getting other work done when my money allows. Thanks Matt and your staff. Take the worry of my car off my mind.

After beeing a customer for over 4 years I wait a week for my car to be service. I made an appointment with a quoted for services needed. I specifically ask if someone can take me to my house since I have a small kid and cant wait. When I arrived to my appointment the owner look very stress out since one employee was out. He mentioned that he would be able to take me home. I arrange for pick up (I understood things happen). While I wait to be pick up he started to mentioned all kind of other problems the car can have without even looking at the car. He even try to pull out a picture of a car to explain more issues that can come up. I feel from the beginning he didnt want to service me. He literally refused to continued with the transaction. He was very rude and just mentioning what can BE WRONG rather than to provided with solutions. Very disappointed. Will never go again. Nor recommend to my mom friends.

Back in May of this year we had a complete front and rear brake job done on our 2002 Toyota Sienna van....I was more than a little surprised at the cost, well over $1000 but we went ahead and had the work done. On Friday night, 7/19/19, we had a major failure on our front driver side brake system, loud grinding, terrible noise. We work overnights using the van as a delivery vehicle and did not finish our deliveries until 9:30 Saturday morning, the van got worse and worse the whole night through. Since I knew that Tuffys was open until 4pm on Saturdays and since I had been driving for over 10 hours I laid down for a nap. I awoke around 12:30pm got ready and called Tuffys around 1pm to get the van looked at because I believed it was under warranty. There was no answer when I called...I assumed they had closed (correctly) because of the storm we had that morning. Needing to get the van fixed I called around until I found a repair shop open and took it there. I was told that the caliper had failed, driving the brake pad into the rotor, basically destroying the entire brake. I was advised not to drive it. I tired Tuffys again and got no answer even though it was still during business hours and no message that they were closed early. Because we needed the van that night we went ahead and got it repaired at our own cost. On Monday I contacted Matt at Tuffys, explained the situation, and he reluctantly agreed to try to work with us. I told him I understood he probably couldnt cover the labor I paid but would like the price of the parts re-imbursed. He promised to get back to me later that day...he did not. I called him back on Tuesday and he again reluctantly agreed to do something. He asked that I go and pick up the parts, pay the core charge on them, and bring them back to him and he would figure something out. He called me back late Tuesday and told me he would cover the cost of the parts, $220. I asked if I could pick the check up the next morning and he said yes. Wednesday morning I arrived to pick the check up...no check and no Matt. I asked his employee at the counter to please have Matt call me...that did not happen. After lunch on Wednesday I returned again and again no Matt and no check. I again asked his employee to get a hold of Matt and have him call me, I was getting the feeling I was getting the run around. The employee refused to have Matt call me, stating I needed to call him...this angered me more than a little and I insisted that he get ahold of Matt because I was coming back at 4pm and if there was no check, there would be a problem. Matt called me shortly after and left me a voicemail. He said that he told me this morning he didnt have any checks....not sure how he told me that since he wasnt there when I was in and I had no calls from him. He then read me the riot act about getting angry with his employee, told me he had no check, only had $200 cash and I could come and get it. So I drove back there for the 3rd time that day...and when I got in he came from around the counter, angry look in his face, said he was recinding his offer because I scared his employee. He again said he told me this morning he had no checks (again I find that strange since he wasnt there either prior time I was in). I told him I would see him in court and he told me to get out. I feel like I was scammed on the original brake job, was definitely lied to this week and am going to file in court for the original cost of the brake job (since there is no way for me to have the warranty honored going forward since he kicked me out) and for the cost of the repair. Id definitely tell anyone to avoid this shop at all costs

Matt and all the staff at tuffys has done a great job over the years taking care of my vehicles. They really do care about the safety of the vehicle and making sure myself and my family are safe. They do a great job of explaining things in everyday terms. What I find that is most helpful is them preparing me for upcoming maintenance that will have to be done to my vehicle to help me budget for. I highly recommend tuffys on College ave for any vehicle issue you may be encountering.

They handled my oil change quickly. However I was quoted that I needed new stuts and that I needed to get my brakes replaced. Tried to push me into a sale when I didnt have the money at the time to do those things. I just took my car to another shop today and they said that I needed neither. My struts were old but fine, and I still had half of my break pads left. And they had charged me for a break inspection and said I needed new callipers as well, which I got replaced because they said I needed it an they were cheap. In reality I probably didnt.

The service actually completed on the car was the only acceptable part of the transaction. Client service was delayed and the cost was much higher than other service centers. The technician also gave a quote for repairs of other issues on the car which was extremely over priced and included items which did not need attention at this time.

Our recently purchased Jeep blew an engine and the dealer in Greenville left us with few options, but Meng at Tuffys found a replacement motor that was cheaper than the other large dealers in the area and it had a 100,000 mile warranty. They did an amazing job replacing the motor! When test driving the Jeep they noticed the rear hatch warning light kept going on (because the hatch had never worked since we bought it). The guys at Tuffys took the latches apart and fixed it no charge! A+++
