I went in 6 months ago telling them I believe I’m having transmission issues. I pay for the $100 diagnostic and they drive it. They tell me they don’t feel anything and don’t see anything wrong with it. I end up getting wheel bearings fixed for $900.It is now 6 months later and my transmission has completely failed. I now have a car that could have been sold for $6,500 easy (Chevy impala 07’ SS) and it is now worth $2,000 at best. Thanks guys, great work. I would have some choice words for the children working there and unprofessional diagnostics.

I recently took my Nissan Titan in for an oil change, check engine light, and limp mode that had occurred a few times. When I picked it up, the owner told me that the check engine light was fairly generic but that he was very concerned with the way the engine sounded. He warned that if he dug into it, it would be expensive so I might want to think about options before dong that. I took it to the local Nissan dealer. They checked it out and replaced the engine block under warranty. I might not have gone to the dealer in time if Apple Valley Car Clinic hadnt been looking out for my best interests!

I don’t think I’ve ever had my brakes worked on. I bought the car “certified” used with 30,000 miles on it. It had been a leased vehicle. There are now over 100,000 miles on it ten years later (less than 7,000 miles per year average). A month or two ago I started getting a rotating sound whenever I had a soft braking experience. I thought maybe I had worn through the pads or something. I scheduled a brake service at Apple Valley Car Clinic Friday night for the following Wednesday, the only day I wouldn’t need my car that week.Wednesday came and I went in. They drove my car and the driver told Justin what it was. Justin came around and sat across from me. He said there’s nothing wrong with my brakes per se, the brakes were warped; not round like they should be. He said some people leave there saying they can live with it, others say they can’t stand the sound or feeling and get new brakes. I’m of the latter. He said he’ll order the parts and if I would reschedule he can get it done another day. They were backed up from Tuesday still and were a mechanic short. I thought the following Wednesday I had a doctors appointment and would need the car. He offered a loaner. When I got home I realized my appointment is next Wednesday not the 18th and I called Justin and told him I didn’t need one after all. I figured I could wait for my car. I rescheduled for this past Wednesday same time.I forget what Justin’s dad’s name is, but he was there when I showed up this past Wednesday. I’ve dealt with him the most over the several years I’ve been going there. I trust him. I had brought a magazine, water, mask and was ready to sleep if it came to it (I had no clue how long it would take). I was prepared to pay $800 or more having researched online what new rotors and brake pads would cost. It came to around $450. I left with a huge smile. Apple Valley Car Clinic gets most of my business. I go to Jiffy Lube for oil changes, Tires Plus for tires. Batteries Plus for my key fob battery. Everything else I do at AVCC. I trust them. They charge fair prices. I’ve read reviews where people claim how expensive they are. I can only guess those people would really complain had they gone elsewhere and found out how expensive their repairs really cost at other places.Now I just need them to stop sending me emails for oil changes. I go somewhere else for those.

Great service as usual! I made an appointment in the morning for 4pm. When I arrived Doug asked if I would mind waiting while they completed the job (both headlamps) right away. That worked for me. In and out in 30 minutes. Ill be back!

In my youthful naiveté, I purchased a used Subaru Forester... as is. Turns out, the thing was garbage. I started noticing issues and brought it to these guys on recommendation from my regular mechanic, who is a family friend. The tech had every opportunity to try to squeeze me for as much money as they could but they were straight up and honest. They said “dump this thing.” They even dropped the price on the diagnostic. I sold that thing quick and cut my losses based on their advice. Probably saved me a boatload of money. Later, my girlfriend needs repairs on her car done. Her regular mechanic was gonna charge her 6k, I asked around and everyone I asked said that price was crazy. I told her to bring it to this place and they dropped that price by 50%. Plus, they didn’t even charge for the diagnostic. They’re good honest guys here, and I’ll be bringing them my car for as long as I’m in the area.

Hands down the best shop in the cities. Been a customer for almost a decade and have continued to be despite not having lived in Apple Valley now for about seven years. Family owned and operated and it shows in the best ways. Doug even placed a couple of Adirondack style chairs outside the shop for me to sit and read at while my car was being serviced. Highly recommend even if you don’t live in the surrounding suburbs.

I am a fan of small businesses and not a fan of over paying at dealerships so I have been to Apple Valley Car Clinic three times and the most recent time will be my last.The office staff is helpful and courteous however they are very disorganized. Also the quality of the garages work is severely lacking and has been for the last year or two. Although they are the better option price wise, I wouldnt take any diagnostic work or anything requiring technical expertise here. You will end up paying for it in the end.

I picked this location because I heard it was one of the best and I was disappointed with how rude their staff was. I was also asked my social security number, phone number, address, and other personal information in the lobby while others were there. I was also told that they would be “more then happy” to have my car gone. Kicking somebody when they are down is not a reflection of “one of the best.”

I have been taking my vehicle here for the past few years. They are always respectful, listen to what I am saying, and answer any questions I have. I trust them 100% and they will always have my business.

Purchased a battery and week later the vehicle didn’t start so I took it to the dealer. They tested the battery I just had installed & it tested low so dealer put in another new battery. No issues since but AV car care wouldn’t issue credit to me for the battery they installed. I will find another place to take my vehicle.

I had been going to the dealer up to now for the past five years, but from now on I’m going to go to Apple Valley car clinic for all my Infiniti maintenance. I feel very good about it.

Always reliable and trustworthy. Have had a lot of work done on both cars and they give you all options. They explain in detail what needs to be done and always give me cheaper options if Im not feeling like paying for everything at once. Free oil changes every 5 times you go in! Lots of coupons and deals. This is my go to car repair place.The only thing is they charge you for using a card. I understand because they have to pay if the customer doesnt, but kind of an inconvenience.

I take our family cars to AVCC for maintenance and repairs, from the simple to the complex.Took my car in last week for a known repair and a once-over. Explained what I wanted, they listened. Gave me a free loaner, and quoted me the scope of work. I have a few things to say..Since the car was taking a day and a half to repair, I needed a courtesy car. I made it very clear I would be taking my friends newborn baby to the hospital with it. This car had a check engine light, and brakes that were 1000 times worse and louder than mine. The hatch didnt close all the way or something so it rattled very loudly, so this kid screamed the whole time she was in the car, i dont blame her because I wanted to scream too.They say bring it back full! Like 12 times, well yeah ok, that car isnt going to make it to see another tank but whatever..So I buy cars a few years old for dirt cheap, and take them right to the shop. I keep an eye on my car in the lot. From the time they got around to it, to the time it was done, and given what they had to do to the car, the price for labor was fair. Im also happy with the price for parts. Im no expert or anything, but being this isnt my first rodeo.. its all right. Nothing amazing, but definitely worth a good review.Id most likely return, given I dont walk out to a puddle of brake fluid anytime soon. Id just rather walk than take another courtesy car.

The work they did on my brakes and rear brake hoses was excellent. The Escape drives and stops better.I recommend you try them and you will notice the knowledge, honest, trustworthy, and pleasant people. They wouldnt sell or do any work you dont need withput your approval.

I live in Maplewood but was down in Apple Valley visiting my parents. As I was leave I noticed something leaking from my vehicle. The leak was significant. Of course it was 5pm. I stopped at Apple Valley Car Clinic not sure if they would be able to help me on such short notice. Without hesitation they said they would check it out. Within about 10 minutes they checked levels and determined a seal was leaking. I was assured that I wouldnt damage my vehicle by driving home. The guys were great. I was happy I stopped.

I called at 9 a.m. Christmas Eve my broken car they had it fixed by the time they closed shortly after noon they stayed open a little later to fix the car. the service is great I highly recommend this place

I thought Id try Apple Valley Car Clinic to save a little money instead of going to the dealership. Their hourly shop rate is 120 and they charge you for every little thing including using a debit card. I think theyre honest people but dont think your saving much money going here instead of the dealer.

I have always appreciated how Doug is straight forward, and will educate people on the technical aspects of needed repairs. I have overheard him offering advice on how to accomplish a repair to a customer who couldnt afford professional repairs, which told me plenty on the kind of person he is, and his desire to please all customers.

The staff at Apple Valley Car Clinic are very friendly and knowledgeable. They do a nice job of explaining what needs to be done to your vehicle in terms that customers understand. Got my last oil change here, went to go do it myself since the snows finally gone and I’d prefer to do it myself to make sure everything is done right. Was unable to get the oil plug out so took it to a preferred shop. My Lube Tech said the last person to do my oil change was either a 400lb man who leaned on the wrench or used an impact wrench. I’m not happy at all with the service I received you should NEVER use an impact as it can damage many things.

Brought my truck in to see Justin and he took great care of me! With having an older truck, there is always work to be done. Justin always does a great job of prioritizing the necessary maintenance and truly takes great care when dealing with his clients. Thank you!

Before I started going to Apple Valley Car Clinic, I would always call my dad to approve any work beyond an oil change, because many of the mechanics I was dealing with would try to convince me to do unnecessary work. I no longer need to consult with my dad. Doug is very honest about what needs to be done when and is good at helping people balance doing necessary maintenance and keeping costs down. He can help prioritize what needs to be done first if you cant afford 100% of his recommendations. I cant recommend him enough.

Apple Valley Car Clinic, is awesome! I have been regularly coming here for the past 4 years, and they have been consistently fantastic.

Is this the only business that has to pay fees for the customer using a credit or debit card?!? I think this was my first time ever being charged 3-4 percent. A lot of people dont carry cash so this is a big inconvenience. Please consider in the near future accepting credit card fees as a business going into 2020.

I was in Minnesota (live near Milwaukee) and my car was un-driveable (ball bearings & brakes). AVCC fit me in, advised me, and gave me a reasonable repair charge. AWESOME, friendly, & professional. Will be moving to Lakeville, MN in June. We will DEFINITELY use them as our family mechanic. Thank you!

Get this.......I brought my car in for an electronic parking brake issue. They look at it for a day and decided they couldnt fix it, no big deal. I go out to my car and the check engine light is on. They said, Youre car is getting old, things break, its not our fault They looked it over and couldnt figure out what why the engine light was on. They were very rude and swore up and down they never popped the hood and did not do any work under there. Well, I popped the hood and found a Power Probe tool (a tool used to send current through the system to disengage the parking break. Which if used incorrectly can fry out the computer). So they lied. He told me the repair is an ECM issue (the cars computer) which can cost up to $5,000. I take it to the dealer and they find that Apple Valley Car Clinic pulled 3 fuses and didnt replace them, the cost to fix was $6.42. But AV car clinic tried to say it was a $5,000 repair. Think about that, a $6 repair but they tried to charge me upwards of $5,000. Very scummy, I brought this to their attention and he again denied doing any wrong doing, never even apologized. In fact, they called the police on me! I was video recording everything just in case I had to bring them to court. The cop reviews the video and says to me, Im sorry John, you were not rude in anyway. I dont know why they called me. Let me speak to them.If you want to get ripped off, go here! Think about an elderly person or someone not on their ps and qs, they would say, Ok, you say it broken, I need my car, please fix it! Then would have charged them $5k but simply replaced the 3 fuses they pulled out. Really unbelievable!

Took my car here because it is where my mother in law gets her work done. Needless to say I will not be back and I will advise her to find somewhere else.Took my car in to have wheel bearing replaced. It made more noise when I got it than it did when I dropped it off was told it was brake rotor out of round. I replaced it and noise still there. The said the hub was dented and caused the second wheel bearing to go bad which would have been done in their shop when they replaced it the first time and expected me to pay for parts they broke! Visit at youre own risk!!!!!!I gave them a 1 star cause I had to before I could leave a review

Brought our Envoy in for noises in front of engine.They installed belt tensioner & a belt and had an oil change done.Picked up vehicle noise was still there.They suggested brakes were at 30 percent front ,50 percent rear.We had all new rotors & pads installed 8 weeks prior at a different shop.I took the vehicle to different shop and they found the noise was an alt. Bearing was bad.AV Clinic charged us 430.00 for wrong part installed. Won’t be back

Told me my water pipe needed to be replaced, I was quoted a higher price than another mechanic. Took my car to the cheaper mechanic and found out that no, my water pipe did not need to be replaced. Two years later I shop here for a battery replacement. The battery was dead in less than a year, I bet they sold me an old battery. These people are crooks, avoid.
