If I could give them 0 stars I would. My boat worked perfectly fine before I had them winterize it. After putting it in the lake this spring it did not run correctly. That alone is not the reason for the bad review. I’ve called and texted multiple times to try and schedule a time to bring it in and no response. If you want somebody who is accountable for their work if avoid this place.

Some of the nicest people youll ever do business with. Very helpful and very honest. I drove 4 hours to buy from them and would do it again in a heartbeat.

I spoke to Rose two different times about two weeks apart. I just needed my lower unit reinstalled since I could not get it to line up after I replaced the impeller. Both times she said she would call me back after speaking to Steve to schedule. She never called back either time. I texted her and nothing either. At least call me and tell me you dont want to do it. Very poor service. Too bad because there arent that many good boat mechanics and my boat is 4 miles from there. I have to bring it to Falls Lake now. Andy is awesome at Rolling View Marina just a lot farther for me now.

After having my boat winterized at the end of last season, I was very satisfied with the work that they performed. However, they told me the blower motors were not functioning, but they couldnt get to it at the time. So, at the beginning of this season, I brought it back to get it looked at and have some carpet snaps repaired. I discussed in the middle of May, when they could look at my boat. I didnt want to leave my boat exposed outside for a long period of time, so they told me they could get to it around April 1st. When I brought it in, they acted like they had no idea who I was. I left the boat there anyways. Then tried calling them to make sure everything was alright, but could not get in touch. No one would answer my calls. Left messages and no one would call me back. I had to drive 20 miles back up there just to speak with someone and make sure my boat was secured. Then, after another 2 weeks with no follow ups, I tried calling again, leaving messages with no response. Finally, went back up there to pick up my boat without the work being completed. If they dont have time to do the work or just dont want to, just tell me. Their communication is non existent and their customer service is horrible. I wouldnt bring my boat back to them if they were the last boat mechanic on the planet!!!

Update: 10/21/21.We have been unable to use our boat since it was at boatworks in 2020. We were charged $1200 for an old used beat up lower outdrive with a beat up used prop. We have not been able to get our boat in reverse since it was at his shop. We now have it at another shop and they are telling us the lower outdrive that Steve installed is bad. So, we now have to buy a newer lower drive to get our boat drivable. The $1200 and 6 weeks at boatworks was wasted. Ive called to speak to them about this issue and they never answer their phone. The mailbox is full so you cant leave a message.FIND ANOTHER REPAIR COMPANY IS MY ADVICE!!!Previous Complaint / Review:Steve was supposed to install a replacement outdrive on our boat. We were told ahead of time a price thru our mechanic who spoke to Steve. Once he had our boat, he tried to repair our drive which wasnt the plan and then installed a replacement lower end out drive on the boat with a beat up prop that wasnt usable. We had already bought a brand new prop that now no longer fit. We are having to source a new prop that will fit on to his frankin-rigged outdrive. He also charged up $500 more than he told our other mechanic he would charge. If you can find someone else to work on your boat, I would go there instead.

They fixed the rear drive in 2014. No issues until today. The price was fair, and the customer service great. I highly recommend.

Crosswinds Marina is the only marina on Jordan Lake which might explain why they do not service boats on Saturdays or Sundays despite that being by far the busiest days on the lake. They do launch boats on Saturdays, for $10 (you can access numerous other boat ramps in the area for $5 or less), and when we drove in (with boat in tow) to inquire about service we were accosted by the boat ramp police - an employee on a golf cart who was not very friendly.

This is my first and LAST experience I will have with Boatworks. I took my boat in to have it winterized in January because they are convenient to the lake. I am storing my boat at Crosswinds and have a tongue lock on the boat and to move the boat Boatworks had to get the tongue key from Crosswinds. Fast forward to March. I took my boat out to test it out before summer and there was water pouring into the boat from the motor. A plug had been left out by Boatworks. So I called Rose at Boatworks to let them know one was missing. She said they dont leave plugs out, well they did. I replaced it myself and it was not an issue, but there are a few hoses hanging down from the engine into the hull that I have not noticed before. I mentioned this to Rose and she said they would take a look at it. When they found time to look at it, no one seems to know where the tongue lock key is. She said they dont have it and Crosswinds doesnt have it either. I said that there must be a disconnect between Crosswinds and Boatworks. Rose said she was was now upset and hung up on me. I have a feeling that Boatworks has a poor system in keeping up with keys, much less parts that go back into your boat. If they werent right next to the lake, they would probably be out of business with the way they treat customers.

I dont normally write reviews, but the people at this place are very friendly and helpful. The prices seem to be reasonable as well. I was a first time boat owner and didnt quite know what to expect, but I have taken my boat there two times to get normal service and I was pleased with the service. Like other reviewers have stated, the Marina is separate from Boatworks, so dont judge Boatworks by the Marina folks.

We were very disappointed with the repair work from them two years ago. We paid some $600-700 to have them clean the carbs which didnt fix it so they tried cleaning them again and didnt charge us the second time. However, it still didnt fix the issue. We took it to Chatlee next (who didnt fix it either). It was only after taking it to Pit Stop in Angier did they suggest replacing the carburetor (which was cheaper than cleaning and actually solved the problem). We lost the first summer of using our boat as a result. To their credit, Rose is very nice but Ive run across many people who had a bad experience from an actual repairs standpoint.
