Best meat market I have ever been to. My son and I stopped in for something for dinner. The wonderful woman behind the counter helped us with 3 New York Strips that grilled to perfection. The following day we went back to see the same lady because y son said she told him Filet Mignon was on sale... and they cut the most amazing steaks from a full loin purchase. I highly recommend and will return. You have a customer for life in my 13 year old ;)

Bought a couple rib eyes - trusted them to be good cuts because they usually are. Got home and opened the package up and one rib eye had so much fat that I wouldnt even serve it. Called to let them know and was told I could bring it back (which is good) but doesnt do you a whole lot of good when you are getting ready to grill and have dinner plans. Paid a lot of money for an extremely poor cut of meat. I would just recommend making sure you get what you want - because if you just trust what they give you - you may be really disappointed when you get home. Will not be going back.

Had multiple deer processed over the years. They do a great job. Turn around is very fast. Cuts are perfect. Venison to beef burger mix two thumbs up. Sausage and sticks turn out great. Family loves them. Thank you!!!

I brought my deer here from the Youth season and got it back in reasonable time. it all looked good until I tasted it, the meat was over smoked and tasted like ash from a fire do not recommend.

Second deer I’ve brought in due to warm weather. Normally I would process my deer. I was hoping first time last year was a one off. But no, both times have been consistent. Fat (tallow) and silver skin on all the steaks and roasts. Some roasts that were cut were sliced through 2 different groups of meat leaving, once again, tallow and diver skin in the inner portion of the roasts. Forces you to remove the tallow and silver skin leaving you with thin strips, that you might be able to call steaks.I gave it 2 stars due to that they took my deer in on a challenging weather day and for the quick turn around.I am sure I am like most here, deer hunting is time consuming and when you get one, I believe they are are above anything else you can get at your box stores. A little extra care and respect would go a long way. There are many other good shops out there, spare yourself the disappointment and take your deee somewhere else. Thanks

Dont go anywhere else. Im serious. Ive been to butchers in the cities and suburbs, even the big chain and small omg its so amazing shops and they have nothing on Anoka Meat & Sausage. Best cuts of steaks, from Minnesota and Wisconsin farms. Pork. Chicken. Turkey. They have anything your local butcher should have and more. The staff are always friendly and willing to answer questions. Seriously, dont go anywhere else for your meat. They do it all, including deer processing and meat in bulk.Attached is a picture of a beast of a porterhouse I got tonight, sizzling on my grill. Sadly Im bad with names and forgot the name of the guy I bought the steak from but he grabbed it and predicted the weight before dropping it on the scale. They seriously know their meats.

-2 Stars for the quality of the service, my mother flew in from NJ to cook for my pregnant wife and I, and she was treated very rudely for merely asking for some fairly standard items.Was not the quality customer service i expected from the reviews.

We brought our deer in a couple weeks ago. A week later they said it was ready, went in to only find out the main cuts are ready and the sticks and sausage will be ready at a later date. Picked the rest up today and its a large bag of looks like old venison with large amounts of freezer burn... probably not my deer nor fresh for it to get that bad of freezer burnt within 24 hrs. Way too overpriced for this lackluster quality, Highly recommend going somewhere else or youll waste your money.

Great local butcher shop. Ive never had bad quality meat and the front staff is very friendly and helpful. If you are a hunter, you can get your game processed here. The in-house beef sticks make a great snack, but I wish they would bring back the pheasant sticks, which was my favourite.

Something is really off with the bacon, my dad has bought it from here a couple times and each time he cooks it I wake up to a very awful smell similar to burnt plastic and pine needles, he makes bacon nearly every day and only the smell of the bacon from this place will wake me up with extreme nausea

Stopped in and bought a couple of beef tenderloin filets for a home birthday dinner. Filets were great, using cast iron skillet method. Also purchased twice baked potato pack, they were average at best, more potato then twice baked. Ill make my own next time. Would really like to see grass fed choices for the meat as well.

My first experience was of something you dont experience in alot of places anymore. They are truly genuine and have amazing customer service . They immediately made me feel welcome and comfortable. First time costomer overall: Deer processing.We did some research to find where we would go to process our deer. Wanting to support small, and local we decided on here even though they were more expensive by $30-$60 from the other places we considered. When we picked up the meat the gals loading it up dropped the boxes twice. Upon inspection all of the 5 lb ground trim bags were split open leaving meat exposed and loose in the cardboard box. The steaks were wrapped in freezer paper that had now been sitting in and covered in the loose ground meat and juice. When we called to complain all they offered was to repackage it all. We ended up repackaging it all ourselves to save driving back and dealing with them. Needless to say for the price I would have assumed they would have taken better care and concern with our product as it relates to packaging. We will be going elsewhere next season for processing.

I highly recommend these folks. We had an issue with a poor quality product and the manager was extremely eager to make it right, no questions asked. I thought customer service was gone, but not here. I will always rate them #1.

A neighborhood gem. Always helpful, always have what I need, and I always try something new in addition to whatever I go in for and am never disappointed. There is a variety of meats, cuts, jerky, sausages, brats, they have lamb, bison, unusual animal parts, lots of bbq sauces and some jarred vegetables, treats for dogs, ahh, their ground chicken Italian sausage has a flavor and texture Ive been searching for for 20 years. I am reaaallly happy to have this place so close to home and appreciate supporting such a unique and local shop.

It baffles me why this place rates so well. We bought some filet mignon from here and came home with the toughest stringiest pieces of meat ever. And this from a cut that is prized for its buttery tender texture. The worst part is that I know exactly why this happened.Background for those not in the know about animal butchery. The filet comes from the tenderloin. The tenderloin is on of the first cuts pulled (and I mean pulled not cut) from the animal. This is partially due to the fact that its a prize cut but more because its a fantastically easy place to start. The tenderloin is then trimmed of connective tissue and silver skin and the chain is removed this goes on to become part of the burger or sometimes for Phillie cheesesteak. Now the butcher has a choice of keeping the tenderloin whole and selling it as is or portioning it into filet by cutting cross sections about 2 inches thick straight through it across through the grain. If a tenderloin is sliced with the grain it will be tough and stringy due to the long fibers of the meat if it sliced across though the fibers are short leading to a tender easy to chew texture.So somehow this meat market managed to butcher one of the most simple tasks. They should be embarrassed.
