So, I am not from Maryland and I came to Annapolis to visit my sister who just moved here. She treated to me to a spa day at this lovely spa. I was a little timid at first being that I was in a new place. About Faces made me feel like I was family right from the start. They were welcoming and so nice. They had water, teas and coffee. I didnt want to leave that cute little relaxation area. The massage was AMAZING! I think her name was Shae, my memory is not that great. Then the facial OMG... heaven, literal heaven. The pedicure was amazing as well. Next time I am in Maryland I definitely will be back for more.

Did not like the service I was booked for a express facial and it became a mini facial for 30 minutes , It did not feel it was 30 minutes at all. The room was worm and she had a very hot blanket on the bed and placed hot steam over my face which I had to asked her to remove it. I had facial many times and this one did not feel like facial. I would not recommend the place.

My girlfriend made me an appointment to get my hair cut with her stylist. Jessica did a great job. Very professional. I will definitely be back.

I booked an appointment online for multiple services and when I was about to start on my final service, the front desk informed me that I had double booked myself (which is impossible using the online scheduling tool). They suggested I come back later in the day to complete my services or offered an alternate date. I booked this appointment before heading on vacation and had already been at the spa for 2 hours before they informed me of this. I understand things can happen but here is why I’m only giving a 2-star rating- 1) they did not inform me of this sooner and didn’t give me an option to select which of the three services I wanted to complete (since I couldn’t complete all that I scheduled for) and 2) they didn’t offer to accommodate me so keeping the next client’s appointment was obviously more important than completing the services that I had booked. My confirmation was for all the services and they had 2 hours to let me know about this and instead told me to come back another time. Disappointing service to say the least.

Wow!! Jessica was amazing! I am a retired Cosmetologist and as such am very critical and hard to please. She took her time and did a wonderful job! My highlights are beautiful!

Ive been going to About Faces for years and always have had wonderful experiences. Jessica is AMAZING! I leave with perfect hair everytime.

They take a lot of precautions to ensure the safety of staff and patrons. The anti-stress facial is my favorite. It combines all the dewy freshness of a facial with the relaxation of light back massage and exfoliation. Its the best of both worlds. Its great for my TMJ pain and is something I have yet to find at other local spas.

Booked an appt for my 5 year old. She was a little afraid. Srylisr named “chris” was very very rude from the start giving dirty looks. Asked if she was going to be crying during cut saying he can not do this. I have never ever been to a salon who wouldn’t even try. The receptionist should hve never booked us with him. I told her my daughtwrs age on the phone. They offered me to come tomorrow with someone who would work woth her. After his very unprofessional attitude i would never go back to this god awful place!

I had a prenatal massage with Sonya and a facial with Ty and they were both so sweet and I had an incredibly relaxing experience. Both were very friendly and talkative but definitely quieted down to allow me to relax. They were attentive to my specific needs and requests. I felt very comfortable with their COVID precautions as well. I can’t wait to go back in a few months - someone tell my husband I deserve it ! :)

Bath at About Faces is FANTASTIC. She’s always happy and enthusiastic to do whatever crazy color my brain comes up with. Scheduling is a breeze and the store makes you feel like royalty without paying insane prices! I send everyone I know to Beth!

So disappointed with About Faces in Annapolis! They canceled my first appointment few hours before it. Then, when I went for the rescheduled one there was another customer and I had to wait for 25 minutes even though I HAD an appointment. They just told me to sit on the couch and no one even said another word to me after that. The staff definitely wasn’t very friendly. It looked like they didn’t care much if their customers are happy. I’ve been using their services for a while but after what happened they lost me as a client!

This place was wonderful. Cant wait to go again

We took my son for his first haircut, upon arrival we entered the first set of doors where we received hand sanitizer and had our temperatures checked. Once we entered the salon, everyone was wearing masks and practicing social distancing. We saw Shelby and she was fantastic with our son. She was quick but precise and his haircut turned out awesome! Highly recommend!

They ruined my moms hair. She shows them a picture and they did the total opposite making it grey. NEVER go to Jessica. She is horrible.

I became an About Faces client by following my stylist, Beth C., from a previous salon. I have been an OVER THE MOON Beth Client for over 3 years now, so following her was a no-brainer. Beth is INCREDIBLE with hair, especially when it comes to color. She listens, provides honest feedback and suggestions, and really works with her clients to come up with a plan that will have them leaving the salon looking and feeling better than they entered. She takes her time to take care of her clients, all the while working efficiently. Ive experienced many artists who chat and engage with you to be polite, but are quick to hide or break when your hair is processing or getting washed, and though I understand the break is sometimes necessary, that behavior can create a non-genuine experience - like youre just another body in their chair...or worse, an inconvenience. This is NEVER the case with Beth. Though she may need to break away to check on another client or grab tools, when youre in her chair you ALWAYS feel like you have 100% of her attention - like you are her priority. Shes genuine in her conversation, and she really cares about the experience of her clients. Have I mentioned that shes EXTREMELY educated when it comes to color?! Its an art-form and science Beth has 1000% MASTERED, no doubt! About Faces Day Spa & Salon is lucky to have her on their team. My husband, parents, and sister have all followed her to the salon, and we will continue to entrust our hair needs with her for as long as shes doing hair!

Its been awhile since I went to the spa, but I still remember it like it was yesterday. My sons had given me a facial and body massage for my birthday. It was incredibly wonderful! The massage itself was so relaxing and enjoyable, but I have to say the facial was the biggest treat of the day. I wish I could remember the name of the gal who gave me the facial. She was incredible. Joyful. And just made me feel so relaxed and pampered. I also love the way the waiting area is so comfortable and welcoming. They have wonderful teas and little goodies. Theres a lounge chair area if you want to put your feet up or there are some little tables and chairs if you want to just hang out even after youre finished with your therapist. I just cant say how lovely that day was for me. And I will definitely be back!

I had such a good experience at this salon. Jennifer did an amazing job on my pedicure and Shelby E. made my hair look exactly as I had hoped! She listened to what I wanted and used her knowledge and talent to work her magic. Even the girl that washed my hair and gave me a scalp massage (Kat) was awesome. Highly recommend!

I went to about faces yesterday for a hair cut/ full highlight/full(maybe partial) low light and ash toner. I am naturally a dirty blonde, but for the last 5-6 years of my life, Ive had blonder hair whether its been because of the disgusting sun in I thought was cool to use in high school, the yellow/golden look or the ombre/balayage look I have been recently into for the past two years. However, I just graduated from college this May and I wanted a change for my upcoming job so I thought maybe I would go more highlights and ash/blonde and not balayage. I had Shelby Ervin as my stylist/color and I LOVED the end result! She did an amazing job and even spent time trying(and succeeded) to get the brassiness look from well water out of my hair. She was so friendly, talkative and made my hair exactly what I showed her from pictures I found online. She knows her stuff! If you are a blonde, worried or not sure who to have for your first time, go with Shelby!! I only say blonde because I saw the magic she did with my hair, I am sure she could do magic with any color :)!I knew going into the appointment that it would probably be around 190$(which it was) because of the haircut but it needed to be done! If you want quality then you have to pay it, and Im not sure you could get it for cheaper elsewhere!The staff was extremely friendly(talkative, offered water or drinks), and the place was very clean, not too cold nor hot in terms of temperature. Everyone in the salon was smiling! I have recommended Shelby to my sister and cousin already and they have both made appointments with her!

Got pampered before my wedding last weekend. The whole experience was so perfect! My massage therapist Shay, was extremely professional and did a phenomenal job. My stylist Ashley, was the sweetest! The nail technicians were so accommodating and kind. Ill definitely be back!!!

I have tried numerous salons in the area, and found that Antonia for me, is experienced with long hair, particularly great blow outs and corrective color. Hair color is chemistry and she knows how to correct whatever issues. She is professional but also personable.

This lovely business saved the day! I had an appointment for an updo for my best friends wedding at another place in town that shut down permanently without my knowledge. About Faces had a last minute cancellation. They were so kind and they were able to get me in for my updo. Thank goodness!!!! Ashley was my hair stylist and she was so sweet and did an incredible job! Thank you SO SO much.

I always have a great experience here! Everyone is pleasantly professional, and friendly. From my future sister in law taking me to About Faces to get my nails done before her brother proposed, to my amazing stylist who is fun, great at her job, and willing to bend over backwards to get my hair just the right color for my big day, theyve always delivered. Totally worth the price whether its for your most memorable moments, or needing a confidence boost, by looking your best!

Went in for two spa services. It was a bit frustrating being a plus size person, but a nice employee with pink hair assisted in finding me a suitable robe and shoes. The anti-stress facial didnt seem to have fantastic post-results but during the treatment, it was heaven. Kiersten was amazing in explaining everything and making sure you were at your most relaxed. It was a bit frustrating to be in the lounge and other customers having their cellphones and talking, so maybe a no cellphone zone would be nice.

Another life-changing hair makeover at About Face with Emily!!! I drive over an hour from DC because no one else can do what Emily does with my hair. NO ONE. Also, Kats head massage was amazing. I was outside of time and space.

Rachel is amazing!! All of the staff is friendly and accommodating. I have taken my five year old daughter and they were very kid friendly and even occupied her while I got my hair done. Always happy when I leave. Attached is an after pic of my hair.

Michelle Salas is someone I would follow to the moon. Her ability to cut any kind of hair including my challenging curly mop, is such an amazing thing to find. When she moved to About Faces I followed her there and now enjoy the great salon as well. Just the best!

Shelby is the absolute best at hair ! She totally transformed my heavily highlighted hair to a beautiful balayage look ! She also cut and styled my hair to perfection ! Shelby installed tape-in extensions in my hair and they look flawless. I finally have the gorgeous thick hair I’ve always wanted. If you want hair extensions and a beautiful hair color/highlight/balayage then Shelby is your girl ! She is also super sweet and fun. Cannot thank her enough for giving me my dream hair, I’ve never felt more confident !!

She is so knowledgeable & an expert in everything from extensions, drastic color / cut changes and more. Over the last year she has helped me get my hair looking better than it ever has. She got me beautiful for my wedding in Hawaii, and now for a pretty drastic transformation that took about 3-4 appointments. She is fearless, thorough and honest about everything that she does and takes so much pride in her work. When you sit in her chair, you will be taken care of 100%. If you are tired of going places and never getting what you really want or the stylist not listening & consistently leaving dissatisfied and overcharged you MUST make the switch to About Faces!! Always a great experience, the only place that I would recommend in Annapolis, this was the third place that I tried in Annapolis and I have been there ever since. I have been seeing Dani for 3 years now and she has always been amazing!

Just got a manicure and it looks like my little sister did it. I went to Poiana Nails where they do the job right. After my experience I did receive a call from the owner and she did listen to my experience and offered me a complimentary manicure 💅🏾. The staff here were very nice and the Spa is very beautiful but the technique of the nail technician I experienced did not meet the standards of About Faces. I have to admit that I wanted to get a facial but Im nervous now 😔.

I havent been able to actually go in, because their customer service is awful and they never got back to me about an appointment. When I finally reached back to them, they suggested an appointment time 7 hours earlier than I had requested for my group. A week after my first call trying to book this for a group I was finally told they couldnt accommodate me because I wanted to come in for the appointment (for some pedicures and massages) an hour before they closed. Ive never been so rudely turned away, especially when Im bringing them 6 paying customers. And now I have to find another spa who can fit us in with less than a week until the event date.

Shelby did an amazing job with my balayage and I am absolutely in-love with my hair! I’d recommend her at About Faces 1,000,000x over and over again!!! She’s a hair magician!!!!

This place is great, I refuse to go anywhere else to get my hair cut! Shelby always knows exactly what I want, always does an exceptional job and gets me in and out in a timely fashion!

Not great. My nail tech was wonderful, but the salon scrimps on things that make you feel pampered. No warm soaking water for manicure, so it is a dry cuticle push back, not cuticle trim, no warm moist towels to wrap the hands for comfort. It is overpriced by about twenty bucks. Go to the mall, you will get all the comforts. I wont go back. It wasnt the nail techs fault, but management needs to not cut back to save money, we notice. I felt like they were trying to save money by not having to wash hand dishes or real cotten towels (as opposed to paper disposable).

I got a GREAT haircut by Antonia on Sunday, and Ill definitely be going back to her. She took her time with my quality A-line bob, and used her expertise to thoughtfully personalize my cut, style, and product recommendations. She even taught me the dos and donts of using a wand (something I was clueless about!)

I see some of you have had bad experiences ... I’m sure it was the people working on you. If you want a great stylist and great estethician then give Michele DeMatisse a try and Jodie Riley. I’ve been going to them for over 15 years excellent at what they do, you won’t be disappointed I promise... I give them 5 stars.

We came for a half day at the spa - lunch, pedicures, facials and massages. Everything was great from the moment we walked in. Great attention to detail. Will defiantly come back!

I asked for subtle highlights....really emphasizing how mild I wanted them. The stylist seemed to understand, but I was surprised with thick, bright-blonde, tiger-stripes. When I went home all my boyfriend said was Wow, thats lighter than I expected.-_- I gave it a chance, but came to the conclusion that it was not a classy look, for me at least.

This salon is nice looking but lacked in service. They care little about the client and everything about a buck. The owner is not very visible nor aware of loyal customers. My impression was that she had no interest in her clients. Relatively high priced. I had a bad experience with a massage therapist and two hairstylists. The massage therapist was ok but lacked professional skills. She didnt do what I asked. The hairstylists I saw had an attitude problem. One refused to do my hair because the person at the desk didnt book the appt correctly. I was her last client and it was only 2pm! I has a wedding the next day. She acted like a child. I made a fuss and got her to do some work. I expected more from a salon that boasts of their excellence. Will never ever return. Arrogant pepole who care little about the individual they work with. There is one excellent person at the desk and one excellent massage therapist named Samantha. I hear from others she is great.

Before seeing Michelle, I was spending hours each week battling my curls - Michelle turned the tide. She gave me a STUNNING curly hair cut. Michelle truly went above and beyond to also teach me how to care for, love and embrace my natural curls. I have gotten tons of compliments on my au natural hair cut & my husband is loving the new look!About Faces is a fabulous spa & salon. The décor and amenities are very warm and relaxing - I could spend hours just relaxing in the lounge every visit. Every member of the staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend About Faces for your next spa/salon visit (Id give it 10 stars, if I could)!

So on looks alone this place is a 10. Its clean, smells great, well decorated, definitely lives up to the spa part of its name. I gave it 2 stars because their estheticians double dip during waxings - meaning they put the wax on, pull the wax off, then stick the same tongue depressor back in the wax. Thats just nasty, nasty, nasty!I really almost had a mild coronary when I realized halfway through my eyebrow, lip, and underarm wax that the same oils and germs coming off of some other womans bikini area was mixed in with the wax currently going on my face.I would have called this a fluke and chalked it up to the individual esthetician I had, but I made the mistake of going back a second time and had the same treatment from a different esthetician. I seriously will not be returning.
