Excellent customer service by Mamie. Knew exactly what i wanted in a frame. She listened to what i was asking for and knew the products. Then George finessed the fitting just perfectly. I have worn glasses for 70 yrs so good fit is very important along with great customer service

Vision works on Annapolis great! Brie was so helpful and I was having a hard time picking out glasses because without my glasses on I can’t see and so she recommended trying on a few pairs and taking pictures and then looking with my regular glasses on. May seem simple but it was brilliant to me!

Never once have we had a satisfactory result from this bunch of clowns. We have gone here because it is in our network but always have issues with charges not being properly explained, unprofessional staff, stressed providers and poor office practices. I am changing to Tidewater Family Eye Care.

Just left vision works and they went above and beyond. My glasses were supposed to come in on the 13th of this month and I decided to stop in and check to see if they have arrived. They checked and at first said they were not there. The General Manager stepped in, her name is Jena Johnson and took control. She opened every box from the last 2 days and looked through each one to see if mine had arrived. Sure enough... they were there. The staff was complimentary, smiling and loved their job. Thanks so much!

So we went in 3 weeks ago, my husband and I. We each ordered 2 pairs of glasses and my husbands ordered contacts. It took me forever to pick out glasses. I wear them every day of my life and I really wanted something cool. I finally decided on one pair for the computer that were okay, but the other pair, I LOVED! We were told that it would take two weeks, so I was surprised to be notified that one pair of my glasses were in the first weekend. We went in and just happened to check and one pair of my husbands were in too, (we had not been notified). Of course not my cool glasses, just my okay ones. Then we got an email that there may be a delay on our others, which we could track online because of Texas storms. I tried to track, but it never changed. I called and called the the store— Nobody ever answered, so I went in on this past Friday afternoon. Only two people working plus the Doctor. This was 3 weeks since we had originally been in. I just wanted a status on our two other pairs of glasses, my husbands contacts, and to notify them that my husbands tinting on the glasses that he had gotten was the wrong color. I had to wait an hour. When I finally was waited on, found out that my husbands contacts that were supposed to come to the store had been sent to an address that was 4 houses old...we had moved 4 times since then almost 20 years old. They couldn’t find his glasses, and mine....my magical glasses that I had taken two hours to select.....had been broken at the plant, and she said she would check with other stores. She said just to have my husband bring back his incorrect glasses and they would fix them. I asked how we should check back on the status. She said she didn’t know, and turned to another customer. Helpful.So we went back in today. Spoke with a gentleman named Eric. He said that I just had to pick another pair of glasses. I asked if he could print me a pic of the others that I loved. He said no. I asked if he could point me in the direction of any new glasses that might be similar. I was crying as I explained how difficult it had been to find the glasses in the first place. He told me I should go to the other stores to look for them. I asked if he could contact the stores . He said no. He started looking for my husbands contacts and I said to my husband that it was like nobody gave a rat’s a$$ about their customers. He said “wait a minute— don’t ever call me that”. I said listen, I apologize for cursing, but I wasn’t calling you any names” he said “no you listen to me....” and I couldn’t believe the things he proceeded to say. I am the customer. I had only been polite to him. We have been customers for many many years. He overheard me expressing my frustration to my husband. As it ended up, still no glasses for my husband, they are ordering new contacts, they never took his other glasses to fix them. They issued me a refund....but we had to go back in twice- once to get the model number of the original glasses that he said he would include in the paperwork he gave us and he didn’t and once again to get the prescription, which he also said he’d include. I spent over 8 hours there. No apology. We will never go there again. Unbelievably rude, disorganized, and the quality of the work is subpar.

Horrible customer service! First time posting a review on a service and let me tell you... HORRIBLE!!! to the point where I don’t think anyone should experience or waste their time going to. I didn’t want to believe the reviews I read about this establishment but it looks like it’s a continued issue here. (Disorganized, bad customer service, not clean, no communication skills)I went in last week WITH an appointment so that I could avoid the issue of being rushed but unfortunately I was wrong. Older gentleman (late 50’s) upfront has awful customer service, rude and is very disorganized. I understand COVID has made it harder for employees but adapting to changes and trying your very best to make a customers experience enjoyable should be their priority. The eye doctors are fantastic it’s just very unfortunate that the front desk is very rude and not very communicative. Not sure how this establishment continues in business. If it does it should really look into investing in new employees upfront. Customer service is a key factor for customers to come back and for customers to recommend to others. But it seems like the employees hate their job.The last place I would ever recommend going to

At a past experience I stood at the front desk for well over 5 minutes with no one acknowledging while everyone looked at me from their desks without a customer in front of them.At my most recent experience I arrived at Vision Works without an appointment, as no where on the website does it say an appointment is required. I was told I needed to make an appointment and come back. I then tried to ask a question and was given an immediate response of you need an appointment again. I understood this, but my question can also be answered without an appointment. I was given an appointment time the next day, but never asked if it worked with me. Great customer service !

Do not go to Visionworks if you are looking for a Dr who can examine your eyes for any medical eye issues. Felt I had to give one star for getting my review started.They sell glasses. They only examine for your vision and for you to buy glasses from them. No trained professional available to me in fitting my glasses when I went for pick up. Was warned about these store front glasses shop. If you need proper medical eye care, find a qualified eye doctor. These folks only sell you glasses. One of my biggest regrets.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS CIRCUSDr. Rogers is fantastic, shame he is working at this horrid place. He has fixed several issues that have been created over the span of doing business here. He had to correct my contact prescription that was written wrong. Stated all I had to do was call in to have my prescription faxed to me if I needed to order contacts online... you guessed it... called in to have my prescription faxed- after a wishy washy conversation with the representative changing what she was reading ( told me my prescription was -5.00 to -5.50 to -5.00 to maybe its Oasis? I dont see Vista listed - SHE HAD NO CLUE and was about to fax me a completely wrong prescription if I had not been paying attention.....and of course I will not be able to get my prescription until Dr Rogers is in the office next week. This place is a wonderland of horrifying events.UPDATECalled in on Monday to speak with my Doctor to have my prescription corrected in my digital file ... after being on hold for over 35 min. they refused to let me speak to the doctor - only to tell me1. the customer service rep was never allowed to tell me what my prescription was over the phone and2. that my prescription was right all along.. some reps can find it and some can not - the rep was just reading old notesI dont know if this is some kind of work release program these people are hired into but I highly recommend a job outside of healthcare.

The clerk was helping 2 customers at the same time and because of that they shipped my contact lenses to the wrong address. I asked for store pickup. After returning to the store for pickup the person that was helping made it seem like nothing can be done and since the lenses were shipped its my problem now. Reaching the place over the phone is close to impossible. I was on hold for 40 minutes with no luck .I dont think that the store has enough staff to help customers during the pandemic. Overall bad experience and poor customer service.

Avoid this place at all cost! My wife had an eye infection and they didn’t even catch it. Terrible customer service, I know this is during Covid, but it’s a total circus. It’s been over two weeks and still no glasses, zero tracking on the location. Had to go to another optometrist to get her eye infection treated, they stated her exam from this place could be wrong because of the infection. Then she finds out she has a scratched cornea. So the eye infection and scratched cornea happened after visiting this place, not blaming them but it’s strange.

My wife and I went to this store to look for a new pair of glasses for me. When we ealwal in the door there was a table with a clipboard with names on it. I asked the young lady at the counter if I needed an appointment and she said for what? I said I was looking for a new pair of glasses. She gave me a small wooden box and said look around and put the glasses you like in here and someone will be with when they are free. We went to the wall where the mens glasses were and started to look. All of the glasses were not just dirty some of them were sticky! I dont think they had been clesnec in days maybe longer! I told my wife I didnt feel comfortable in that place and had to leave. I will never return and suggest that no one else does either!!

Ive never had an eye exam that felt so rushed and uninformative. Doctor just sat me down asked me if I could see a couple of lines and got my prescription. Was not asked about any issues or questions I have. I wanted contacts but was pretty much discouraged from getting them. Not a real exam at all!

Visionworks gets rude customers all the time and i feel bad for the staff. People its COVID.. duh they are understaffed because alot didnt go back some dont even want to. Ive seen some patients go in there and are just rude for no reason and you expect respect back? Its really the staff who I feel bad for, for dealing with some of you. Imagine you guys working there dealing with people like yall. They dont have an in lab anymore and its covid, of course its going to take a while for the glasses to come in. Ignorant people i swear! I waited 45 minutes past my appointment to be seen. The doctor was okay, nothing special about him. I was definitely rushed during my exam though. As for my glasses, the man working there tried to say that he couldnt give my glasses prescription, which is total bs. Lastly, they still havent given me my trial contact lenses. Its been a month now. I try calling this store everyday, but no one picks up!

Poor customer service. Slow and understaffed. The only thing that was fast was the rushed eye exam. Took over 3 weeks to get my glasses and I only got them because I stopped in to ask. Called repeatedly with no answer. Never received a call or email they were ready. In my 30 years of going to eye stores, this was by far the worst experience. I was new to the area and didnt know but youve been warned.

I went yesterday for an eye exam and to buy new glasses and it was the best optometry experience I’ve ever had. Dr. Rice was incredibly sweet and informative and yet the exam was fast and enjoyable. Worst customer service I have ever had in my life! I went into the store and they were busy but two clerks were at the check out counter. One finally said hello. I told her I wanted eye glass cleaner and she told me where they were and what was their best seller. I picked them up and waited for the two clerks to finish talking. Finally the one who had helped me earlier asked the other cashier if she would ring me up. The lady was looking at her computer and never even acknowledged what she had said or me. They talked amongst themselves and two other people who worked there then they talked some more about something that had printed out too small and then they both left the counter without a word to me. I waited a few minutes and put the stuff I wanted to buy back on the shelf and left. That is the second time I have been there and the customer service was bad then too. I will not be back!

I am writing this review while sitting for over an hour in their waiting room. We called a half a day ahead for this appointment and upon arriving had their secretary argue (actually talk over and argue) with my family. Since then we have been sitting here while they have been taking other walk ins. She looked up my information, explained to me in detail what I was ordering and offered me expedited shipping so that my contacts would arrive in time for my need. Went in tonight to price new lenses. There were 4 or 5 people working, and unfortunately I do not remember any of their names because my memory for that kinda thing is bad. What I WILL remember is how polite, courteous and helpful they were. Specifically the 2 of the women and one of the men, whom I dealt with directly.While new lenses were a bit out of my price range right now(the lenses were reasonably priced, I simply didnt have the finances at the moment), but I will definitely be coming back to this location when I am ready to buy them. They even fixed the wires holding my lenses in place, replaced the nose pads and cleaned them for me, all while being attentive and giving us a great customer experience.I recommend anyone in Annapolis or surrounding areas stop here for you vision needs!

Bought some awesome Ray-Ban sunglasses to be replaced with prescription lenses. Told the lady I want the original lenses to be set aside as I want to keep them. Then when I came to pick them up, I asked wheres the original lenses, I was told they were threwn away already as they normally do. The employee kept coming back and forth looking for them and telling me they dont have them anymore. Eventually told her just give me another set of original lenses of the same model as surely you have another of the same kind. Im glad that she did, But still, thats ridiculous, YOU NORMALLY THROW ORIGINAL RAY-BAN LENSES that I paid for?

I have gotten glasses here several times. Theyre not that busy, the staff seems a bit disorganized, but the doctors were great. I brought my mom there as well. She struggles with occasional dementia and didnt understand why she needed new glasses after a decade. They were very understanding and they helped explain to her (several times) why she needed new glasses without sounding condescending.I intend to go back again this year.

Im giving 2 stars instead of 1 here because I have been involved with them over a decade and its not always horrible. But Im not going back again after this last time. Ive gone in 5x in the last few months and I have yet to get my glasses situation sorted out. Every single time, there is a problem. From damaging the glasses while tightening them to not being able to find the glasses and having to reorder to the description of a lens being different than the actuality to the 100% happiness guarantee being about the product and not getting the lesser price just in case you are happier with not having the service you originally paid for. Every time I go in, it is a lengthy procedure, even under the best of circumstances.

I was excited to have found a place taking my insurance so I made an appointment here in August. The employees seemed very unprofessional, talking about one another in front of me. The eye exam was fine but they would not release my prescription to me unless I scheduled a follow up appointment. I have been wearing contacts for 10+ years and found it ridiculous that this was required for a prescription. When I finally agreed to make another appointment just so I could get my prescription, they called me last minute to cancel. Now, I am trying to order my contacts online and I cant get what I need because they specified that I could only get one brand of contacts on my prescription that I do not even use. I will NEVER use this eye doctor again and do not recommend to anyone.

I made an appointment online and ended up spending about an hour and a half in the store. The staff seemed kinda disorganized (I was sitting and waiting for a bit until someone came up and told me that I could have just gone up to give someone my completed form) but everyone was helpful and nice.I had a snafu with my insurance where I hadnt canceled an appointment somewhere else, so they couldnt use my insurance, but since they were running a $10 eye exam special I didnt have to use insurance anyway (I have a $10 copay). The doctor was fabulous - thorough and chatty.Took my prescription with me, but may end up going back for glasses since theyre running a buy one get one special... well see...

I have been a customer here for over 6 years and it seems like there has been a change in ownership or management because none of the old employees are here and the ones who replaced them dont even stand half as tall in comparison. Went to get a eye exam and new glasses. Was late for my 1st appt and told Dr would not see me by manager, Kimberly. Made another appt for next night. It was crazy and busy, the associates were doing the best they could while the manager put on her coat and left. I had amazing help from Alexis, Eric and India. Alexis although new did a great job taking care of me. Went the next night to pick them up and was helped by an extremely rude woman who simply did not even want to look for my glasses, just said they were not done. When I asked why she said she could not even find the paperwork. When I told her who helped me she went on to completely disrespect her co-worker, the new girl. How horrible of your employees to talk rudely about a person just trying to do the best at her job. I would only go back if I could be guaranteed that Alexis, Eric and India were there.

Wish I could give zero stars. Ordered glasses, frames only. Sheila tried to sell me the displays for full piece. I said no order new a new pair I’ll come back when they’re ready. A week later I called to check the status of JUST THE FRAMES I ordered, transferred twice and worker I spoke to said the glasses were in. I said, oh, when did they arrive? She said um I’m not positive but they’re ready for pick up. I went to pick them up and they said they weren’t ready, then I waited 20 minutes for them. They looked fine in the case. Then I went home and saw the brands logo was etched on the right lens 3 inches wide by 2 inches long. When I picked them up at the store I thought it was a sticker. They gave me the displays that I waited a week for glasses that are useless. Completely unacceptable. Calling corporate on Monday and requiring a full refund.

Waited a week for them to come in and they were wrong so we sent them back out and once again they were wrong. Gonna give up on this place now. I did come in originally on a weekend, but I have called twice, once on a Thursday and once on a Wednesday, and received the same angry service. I requested they ship my glasses and they said they would call when the glasses came in to see if I did in fact need them shipped. They did not call. And when I asked to have them shipped they did not give me a tracking number and they did not know how to look that up. I live in a city and I dont want my $300 glasses I need to see stolen. I want to know when they will be at my house. When I called FedEx for them and got some more information and followed up with them they were angry that I did the leg work for them. I understand that you all are booming with business but that doesnt mean you have to be angry with your customers.

I called in to order some contacts. Not sure if the gentleman that answered is a new associate but his customer service skills are horrible. I’m writing this review as I wait on hold going in 22 mins as of now. I asked if I could check to see if my contacts were in stock he said ok hold on. He then came back to the line 5 mins later and said no we don’t have them. I then asked well how do you know what I need you never even asked my name? He says well you told me the brand. Do contacts come one strength fit all? Did I miss something in my 29 yrs of being blind? So then I asked if I could order a box of contacts and since then I have been on hold now 26 minutes. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. If the office is busy I would have rather the gentleman communicate this to me and I would have called back at a later time. I WILL TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. PERIOD!

This place is an absolute joke. Not only is their staff completely unfriendly they are completely incompetent of their jobs. They will tell you one price at first and then two minutes later it will nearly triple. I dont think Ive ever sat less than an hour. Been coming here for years and have just dealt with the wait times because their doctors really are great. Their staff however is just a completely different story. They couldnt find myself and my insurance (a 6 year patient) anywhere and they didnt even bother to tell me until after I have filled out paperwork and had been waiting. Completely unprofessional. Steer clear of this place. Go to Americas best.

This is the second time I have used Visionworks. First time there was a lot of issues, and this time is no better. After scheduling appointments online for my daughter and myself, it still took over an hour just to be seen by the doctor, then there was a two day delay on our glasses, and durning pick up they did not even take the time to fit, or adjust the glasses. So just walked in to have my glasses adjusted and was meet with it is going to take a long time there is seven people in front of you, they did not care they did not take the time to fit them the correct way the first time. Save yourself time which they dont care about and the frustration go somewhere else. Not customer friendly, and rude.

FYI: this location used to be in the mall, but now its on Lenox, right near the BestBuy.Summary: Its about what youd expect for a corporate chain. If you just need to update glasses/contacts Rxs for a cheap price and theres nothing too complicated or really concerning health-wise, this is your place.As far as quality of service: Every receptionist Ive dealt with there, either in person or on the phone, has been pretty lazy and rude, with the exception of one. The technicians, however, are helpful and skilled at fixing or adjusting minor glasses problems. (shout out to Helen!)Doctor: The doctor I saw in November was temporary (just filling in). He was nice, knowledgeable and accommodating. He did make a mistake writing my contacts Rx (which has not changed in 4 years) and I had to fight tooth and nail with the store to have them correct it. Thankfully, one of the technicians was understanding and fixed it for me without charging me for a whole new eye exam.Prices: They are similar to other chains, but a little cheaper, especially if you go while theres a special. NOTE: the Glasses and Contacts prescriptions are SEPARATE, so you must pay for a separate exam for each. Its kind of a racket, if you ask me. Further, contacts prescriptions are limited to 1 year and they actually limit the # of boxes you can purchase so that you can only purchase a one-year supply. It forces you to get an exam every year, even if, as in my case, your Rx hasnt changed in a number of years.

Customer service is very weak, the doctors were good and efficient but the rest of the staff leaves a lot to be desired. I waited so long I dozed off a little. They never seem to know what my insurance covers even though I go every year and Im sure Im not the only one with Medicaid/Amerigroup for insurance. The typically have what I need/want in store(typically contacts, the frames inventory is also weak and limited) but the process is prolonged almost inexcusably.

I have used Visionworks in the past at other locations, but this one has very poor service. I was told my glasses would be ready a certain day, but when i went to call them they told me to come in after 430. When i got there they had closed early and said they would be ready the next day. I went in like they said and just like last time they were not ready. I called the 3rd day after they were to have been done, and the gentleman proceeded to tell me they will be ready the next day. How about they call when they are ready and pick a date that they can get a pair of glasses finished in? So frustrating !!

When I went for my routine I exam afterwards I was told that my eye exam was not covered they failed to check my insurance before we came horrible customer service I asked about their special and the lady seemed annoyed. Run by a bunch of idiots I got my prescription and I left.

The WORST vision place Ive been to. Had to re-visit the store 4 times because they kept screwing up my order. Each time I visited a different customer in the store seemed to be having the same problem. Very unprofessional staff and expect to wait forever to be helped while they loudly gossip, argue with each other etc. Also do not be fooled by their prices, their frames seem cheap but they overcharge their lenses for sure. AVOID!

In order to leave a review I am being forced to select a star. If it was my choice I wouldnt select any stars. I didnt check the other reviews but Visionworks is rated currently 2.7 stars out of 5 and now I can see why. I ordered contacts and was told that can be shipped to my home and wasnt a problem. I am calling in on 1/16/18 to check the status. The original eye exam appointment was set on 12/9/17 and after speaking with someone today was told that Visionworks called on 12/22/17 to inform that contacts was in for pickup. I have no messages from 12/22/17 but contacts should have shipped to my home and not the store. These things happen which I completely understand but after speaking with someone today, 1/16/18 I am now being told that I have to pay a 5.00 fee in order to have them shipped to my home. This is something that was never disclosed and after what has occurred I cannot believe that would still be forced to pay this. Visionworks customer service needs dramatic improvement and if this how Visonworks customer service is regularly I understand why they have such a low rating.

At first I was a bit hesitant about going here with all the bad reviews, then the phone etiquette wasnt up to par scheduling an appointment. I did however need to get my eyes fitted for contacts and they were the only ones that could see me last minute on the weekend. When I arrived it did take a little while to be acknowledged, but once they started all my paperwork and conversations started they are all so very friendly. Dr. DeRosa was an absolute delight. He was very experienced in his field and his level of professionalism shined. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone. Some kinks need to be worked out, but overall I had a wonderful experience.
