Great shop!!! Everyone in there is extremely pleasant, helpful and accommodating!!! Definitely my new go-to ski shop!!! I had a problem with my new skis that had the bindings mounted at another shop (long story) and I brought them into this shop to see if they could help me. Right off the bat, everyone there clearly cared about me and the issue I was having, even though it wasn’t their problem. They went above and beyond to help me, and clearly cared about the sport had a ton of pride in their work. 10/10 would recommend. Best shop in MI
Went to the Plymouth location and they sent us to Ann Arbor for a boot fitting appointment and I couldn’t be more happy with the service we received. We were scheduled for 4:30pm and Justin and the staff stayed after close to make sure our new boots were perfectly molded to fit us comfortably. We ended up getting new skis as well as some other gear. Their recommendations and knowledge are top notch and as long as I’m in Southeast Michigan this will be the only place I go for anything winter sports related.
This was our first experience with tech suits and Connor was extremely helpful. He gave us info over the phone and when we came in to the store, he remembered we called and assisted us every step of the way. A race suit purchase can be intimidating but Connor made it seamless. Answered all of our questions and we left with the perfect suit. We will definitely be back for our next suit purchases.
I posted this review on the Plymouth locations site as well but you can find Rob and his staff at both locations and appointments are available!You may not be an Olympic athlete but you can be fitted for equipment as if you were one.If your feet have ever felt anything but warm, secure, and connected to your skis or board while on the hill you need to see Rob post haste with your boots which he can do amazing things with or to get new boots which is what this story is about.boot fitter is a misunderstood title. If you have ever walked into a ski shop and had someone bring out boxes after a cursory measurement with a Brannock device and then the boot liners were heated up and put on your feet you did not see a boot fitter.I have skied for 30 seasons consisting of 60+ days many times. I have never not felt pain until my feet went numb. I usually skied for an hour or two and then had to have my boots off for 10 minutes or so before cramming them back in and ratcheting them down to get the right pressure for precise turns.Then came Rob, the boot fitter. I have an unreasonably strange foot. It is a collection of odd features that should not belong to the same boot. At the initial appointment Rob took all 90 minutes to discuss what I was feeling and looking for, inspected my old boots, took probably a dozen measurements in three dimensions of both of my feet. Tried on multiple liners and shells and determined the best boot for me which needed to be ordered. This cannot be overlooked, Rob ordered the right boot for me and did not try to push something from stock.The delivery and fitting is where the the exceptional talents and skills of Rob become evident. In short, the boots were completely disassembled expertly by Rob, each component tested on my feet. Blow torches, a drill, sharp things, screwdrivers, boiling water, a press, probably some ancient relics, and an attention to detail I have rarely observed (and I am an engineer!). I left the shop hours later with boots that felt right, had custom foot beds, heel wedges, better screws, an aftermarket power strap, a customized shell, customized liner and very low expectations after 30 years of painful feet.I include the picture above because I skied for 6 hours and never actually took the boots off. There were a few little pressure points but nothing near what I had felt before. The next day all but one of the points were gone and I had boots that were carving cord, zipper lining moguls, sending jumps, dancing around trees and I never had to tighten my boots to get extra leverage. My feet just felt comfortable, warm, secure, and connected to my skis. Rob had me bring them in for a followup and corrected the one small issue I was having.I cannot say this enough, if I can ski without foot pain - anyone can. I have heard from others that Rob and his team do an equally amazing job with snowboard boots, cross country boots, and even cycling shoes.As I almost forgot to mention, Sun and Snow is staffed with knowledgeable, passionate, and incredibly kind people.
Excellent customer service! My cross country ski boots failed me last week, just as we got the best snow in years and there was not another pair in my size to be found in stores or on-line. I called Sun and Snow to see if anything could be done and they said bring them in, Rob can probably fix them. I did and they couldnt have been more helpful or nicer. And Rob figured out a way to mount new hooks on my old boots so I was back on the trails the next day!! Great experience!
Had a wonderful experience with Rob and his team. They helped dial me in to a super comfortable and very high performance ski boot, while going above and beyond with their customer service. I have chosen to make a two hour drive to this location from Ohio (where I have two shops within 20 minutes) because the service and personal knowledge eclipses anything closer.
Called this store wondering where moms boots were. Turns out it was the wrong store and madison (i think) went above and beyond to track down those boots turns out waiting on a part. Good quality takes a little time especially when the parts are discontinued. Thank you very much young lady.
Been in this store twice and both times terrible customer service. Will never go back. Young man answered phone 3 times while I stood at counter waiting for service.Talked with Rob (owner) and he apologized for the employee and was veryconcerned and said he wanted to send a gift card to me. Rob called me again and wanted to know if I would look at review and change rating. I told him I would review once I received gift card and got back in store to get another experience.I still have not received gift card that was promised.
Incredible customer service! They went out of their way to have my skis done faster (ski service and binding adjustments) so I can pick them up in time before my vacation. Will definitely recommend to all my friends and family for any ski related business.
Great experience at Sun & Snow Ann Arbor. Tess was super helpful and Blake got me dialed into a perfect fit for my new ski boots! Blake was knowledgeable, easy to relate to and worked diligently to make everything perfect. Very impressed. I can’t wait to take them onto the slopes!

I came to Sun & Snow Sports for a custom boot fitting. The process was great, the staff very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They worked on forming my boots that I bought elsewhere until they were more comfortable than my sleepers! They didnt try to sell me new boots or any other unnecessary gimmicks. Their price were very good compared to what youd pay at the ski resorts out west.I was so impressed that my wife took and appointment the following week. Great store !

Robbie Parent of S&S is the best boot fitter in the Midwest...Period. He is the only one I trust to fine tune my boots for racing etc... Been a customer of Sun & Snow for over 20 years. I support family owned businesses, not big box recreation corporate giants and online faceless stores. When you take your life in your hands by participating in this sport, you want a real person backing you up when you point them down and go.
Went to Sun & Snow last night for the first time and even though its close to the end of the season, they still had everything I could have needed for my first ski trip this weekend. The sales associate that helped me out was very sweet and helpful. I look forward to coming back again to see their summer inventory!
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. They know their products really well, and will make sure you get the right gear, fit, and price-point. Got a tune up and bindings last year, and boots and gloves this year.Rob, the owner, takes a hands on approach to good customer service and satisfaction. If something is wrong they work to make it right.
Bought my ski boots here. Scheduled a fitting session where I learned more about my feet than I thought I ever would. Very good experience and am happy with my purchase. Finally am in a good pair of ski boots!
I was looking for a basic full swimsuit and there were tons of options. Everything was organized.
I went in to buy a downhill ski set up. The staff was great and gave me the full run down. Im disappointed because he only showed me two 2018 skis which were $750 without bindings. Im not going to invest that much money with just two options. It was my first time ski shopping, but i expected at least 10 to choose from, with all different price points. I would have liked to see more kits with bindings... Which i will end up buying online probably. I know people like to customize where theyre bindings sit, but some people just want a cheap kit to get on the snow.

Wow guys you were supposed to open at 10 today. The sign on your door says 10. First snow of the year and its Halloween. Thought I would drive across town and grab some warm gear for my daughter for trick or treating tonight. No one is here yet and its 10:30. I have a meeting at 11 and Im not going to have enough time to pick up some hot chilis gloves and hat fo my daughter later. Not happy.updated - Owner personally contacted me the same day. He explained what had happened and provided me with a gift certificate. Much appreciated.

Nick fitted my child for a tech suit and was patient and made sure we got the best suit for her age and swim level. Nick did not oversell me a suit we didn’t need and listened to my child’s feedback the entire time. It was worth the 2 hour drive and we will be back!
Made an appointment online for the Plymouth store to modify my ski boots. Easy access and then excellent followup email and text from the store to remind me about the appointment. I took two sets of boots in for modification. Rob made good observations, an expert analysis, and awesome adjustments. Problems solved. Loved the experience, super nice people, and the store has lots of fun stuff in it. :) Perfect 10 place to do business!-joeps: I had some skis ground and tuned earlier this year at the Ann Arbor store. They also did a fantastic job. My old Guns were carving like they were new!
Went there this morning as soon as they opened. Had traveled from out of state for a one week visit with family. I left ALL of my swimming things at home. I asked the GREAT sale woman for a total swim set for the least expensive price and I left 15 minutes later with a suit, swimcap, resistance gloves and flippers for an excellent price!! (I had extra googles and ear plugs in my suitcase so didnt need those!) I just finished a great swim and look forward to many more swims this week. I guess I now have a back up swim pack. Since Ill use it all again I dont feel like I wasted any money at all!! Thanks so much for the excellent and speedy service!!

Worst customer experience ever. I was inside your store while you were receiving a delivery from a local food vendor. The girl at the counter was completely rude and took extra time to even interact with the poor young man. Then I watched them stiff the driver. In this economic climate this is disgusting. When I asked her about it she said it was her managers order. So now Ive been told that not only do your employees not care about mistreating a human but your management was the true problem. I will shop elsewhere going forward.
Bait and switchI bought some skis and bindings online and decided Id rather not mount them myself. I called S3 to see how much they would charge, explaining that I had these components. When I arrived at the store, they told me that it would be $15 more than I was told on the phone. Apparently, its cheaper if you buy the stuff there. That makes sense, but they were unapologetic about being misinformed on the phone and offered me nothing except an explanation. I mounted the bindings myself on principle alone.
Excellent store and the new location is fantastic. In the winter they have a great selection of ski and snowboarding gear. In the summer Kayaks and canoes. Highly recommended.

THANK YOU FOR FIXING MY SKI BOOT PROBLEMS!!! I have very wide, very flat feet as well as an occasional battle with plantar fasciitis. These problems have gotten worse over the years. I have had painfully uncomfortable ski boots since the early 1990s. I have tried off the rack boots as well as boots specially made by SURE-FOOT in Beaver Creek CO and boots made by a highly recommended boot-fitter in Breckenridge CO. They have all had one thing in common; they did not fix the problem. My feet continued to constantly hurt when I skied. Though I have loved skiing for over 40 years, I was ready to quit because of the constant ski boot-foot pain. I visited the Sun & Snow Ann Arbor store in early 2012. Alex Parent went thru the fitting process with me and customized a pair of Technica ski boots for me. I think the system may have been VacuumFit. The process was simple and thorough and not to time consuming, though I would recommend setting an appointment in advance. Anyway I went on a ski trip soon after the boots were ready in Feb of 2012, and have gone on two more this year. In all, I skied for 14 days since getting the new boots from S&S and experienced NO FOOT PAIN! I cannot tell you how thankful I am. Now that the foot pain has been corrected, I no longer think of quitting skiing....I just think of going skiing. Alex Parent at Sun and Snow was great.
