Much smaller than your Lowes or Home Depot. Its similar to your local ACE Hardware Store. It has a small local feel. Many items are greatly overpriced but expected since they are smaller. Nice customer service which brings a great experience every time I visit.

Armando and Andy did a great job helping me get what I needed to ameliorate a nasty and corroded saddle valve.I initially worked with Andy to get my hands on the necessary shark bite (no solder required) plumbing. Following further analysis, I realized I would need to do a full-up copper pipe soldering job. Not wanting to wait on a plumber, I decided to pursue my first solder. Armando provided extensive advice on tools and techniques, including buying the right blow torch for the job and how not to burn my house down. After cutting out the saddle valve, I found a dripping pipe. I called Armando who very quickly tracked down a special water blocker that allowed me to complete the job and restore water to my house. The end result wasnt pristine, but no leaks!

They are super helpful and very knowledgeable.They carry a lots of choices in specifics tools.The rental beat every other alternative and they really make sure the tools are in working conditions. Car & truck rental is smooth.A go to place without a doubt.

Love this place. The folks there are always kind and helpful. They have a whole isle of fasteners with almost anything you could possibly need. Fasteners that the big stores dont have. They sell a tonne of good stuff. Plenty of gardening items including rainbird drip irrigation parts (which is my preferred brand for drip irrigation in my garden). They also do U-haul rentals. I know they offer other services as well that Im unfamiliar with but they are definitely worth checking out if you need something. Prices are definitely reasonable.

Great experience today with the two cashiers, lovely and friendly people, plus the very kind Mr. Williams who sharpened up the lawn mower blade and clippers, not a service offered in too many places. Will return and agree its a very friendly and helpful place

Carpenter Brothers is a gem of a store. The staff are not only friendly but very well informed about many aspects of home repair and renovation. I find that the family run atmosphere lends a sense of investment to everyone that works there. A huge shout out to Andy, who went above and beyond to make sure that I got the perfect grill for my husband (along with all of the accessories). I noticed that he treated every customer as if they were the only one in the store at the time that he helped them. I can’t recommend this place highly enough, especially in the face of so many chains that are owned by big corporations. FIVE STARS!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

They asked me several times if they could help me find something and when I ask where something is they point. I go look and then come back saying I’m having trouble finding the item. She says she has to be quick because she’s on register. Ran into where my item might be and left. When going to leave I was asked again if I needed help by the same girl. I know pot is legal but maybe there comes a time where you should just lay off it for a day.

Carpenters is a wonderful, family-run business. My skills in the area of home maintenance/improvement are too low to be measured by modern science, and yet everyone there is always patient and helpful with my questions.

The products are over priced and the customer service is subpar. I stopped by the store on the afternoon of July 31, 2021, the guy at the rental desk was very rude and negative—waste of time.

So happy to have Carpenter Bros Hardware still hanging in there (Ann Arbor) after moving back here for some time , they have always help me and my family with there great customer service.

We needed an item quickly today and werent sure where to find it, so I took a chance to see if this store carried it. I called up and sure enough, they had it. We were able to swing by and pick it up in no time at a great price. Walking in, we were impressed by the selection in the store. Were moving away from the area but wish we had discovered this place sooner to support them and take advantage of their excellent stock of gardening supplies. **All employees and customers were wearing masks**

I have been going to this hardware store for the past fifteen years. They have everything i ever needed even maintenance of our lawn equipment. I refuse to go to the big stores. From the owner to all the staff here, one is better than the other. Please support this family place, it is really worth it.

Never been disappointed here! Im usually shopping for nuts and bolts, and its easy for me to find what I need. If Im having trouble, the knowledgeable and personable staff is always happy to help. They have a surprisingly wide selection of goods at a convenient location. If Kroger doesnt have it, they likely do.Staff is helpful even though the shop has a fake grenade to register complaints. Guess its good I dont have any. Always good experiences. But dont delay if you need to get some equipment repaired. It usually happens at the same time everyone is experiencing the same thing so they can get backlogged.

Carpenter Bros is my go-to hardware store in Ann Arbor. They have a very broad selection and I rarely leave without finding what I need.

Used to be my favorite hardware store but, as of yesterday, employees are not wearing masks. Didnt see any signs or attempt to ask customers to wear masks, and about half were not. Really disappointed. Im not in a position to take chances. Id like to support local businesses but not if theyre not going to show their respect for the community.ETA in response to the business response: FWIW I did call in advance and was told I needed to come into the store. I understand that your policies may have changed since then. And I do understand that its a difficult experience for everyone but, IMO, as one of the few businesses that had been allowed to open, I think it behooves you to take extra care to ensure that you follow guidelines. I also want to note that I posted this review *prior* to the FB post. I appreciate your response.

This store is a throwback to Hardware stores of my youth....great selection, friendly and knowledgeable staff. I took a planer in to have them repair it when no one would touch it.I hope they can fix it, but the fact that they are willing to check it out and give it a shot makes me happy. A pleasure shopping at this store!

I brought kitchen knives to be sharpened. They did a great job. Quick. Reasonably priced, and the knives work beautifully now. In general, every time I have come into this store, the staff has been knowledgeable and professional, and the prices competitive. Great place.

I was looking for replacement flood lights and they had both the LED and incandescent options as a reasonable price. Great little hardware store recommended by a friend, so glad I went here instead of big box. Found everything I needed, people were very friendly, one guy walked all over the store with me to get some of the things I needed. Ill go here any day and recommend to friends for sure.

This is what a local hardware store should aspire to be: the staff have been friendly and knowledgeable about any project Ive worked on, and they take the time to answer your questions. So far theyve had everything Ive needed, and contrary to other reviewers, I find the prices reasonable. The only thing I can think of that they lack is bicycle parking.

Definitely one of my favorite stores. They have everything youd need for a home project. For things that you dont know where to get them, make a phone call or come to check it out, most likely, youd be able to find them. Every time I came to have my keys duplicated, I take a stroll in the aisles to see whats new over there.

Went into this store and asked cashier if I could use a $10 off $50 coupon that had no date. She said yes. I proceeded to shop for $50 of stuff. When I got to register I was told I couldnt use the coupon. The cashier actually denied telling me that I could. The manager said there was nothing he could do. I put my things down and was walking out when the manager suddenly decided he could honor the coupon if it meant losing my business. Seriously??? I will NEVER step foot in this store again. Treat your customers right and fire your lying cashier.

Carpenter bros has been helping me with my hardware needs for 10 plus years. The customer service is second to none. I have yet to ask a question that can not be answered. Even after moving out of Ann arbor I still continue to shop with carpenter bros for they provide me with information I can trust and rely on.Awesome business, Awesome owners, Awesome staff!

Carpenter Brothers has been my neighborhood hardware store for 20 years. Ive known staff who have passed away and staff who have had babies. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and almost always has what I need at good prices. The store inventory is much larger than it looks.

Fantastic Customer Service! I needed to replace a wiper blade on my 2009 Pontiac G6. I went to Carpenter Bros. to pick up 2 new ones. Since this was the first time I had to replace them on this vehicle, I had no idea which ones I needed or how to replace them. I asked for help and a kind employee helped me find exactly what I needed and even installed them on my car for me! This was one of the coldest windiest days in Ann Arbor and he came outside and spent 10 minutes with me installing them. I am extremely thankful for his service because these were complicated wiper blade mounts.I highly recommend Carpenter Bros. Great location and great service!

If you cant find what youre looking for/need assistance with something, feel free to ask a staff or two to help, and describe your problem to them, theyll help you to their very fullest! Brought my bike and bike rack there because I got into some problems while installing the bike rack and they helped me with locating the right screws as well as installing the bike rack for me. Would come back again if I need anything!
