Compared to the Big Box home improvement stores, we didnt see any benefit. We have spent nearly a month getting installation quotes from their suggested/recommended installers, with a huge variance in quotes, not to mention one in particular is not very pleasant to deal with (and he is one of the top 2 the store employee recommended). Their remnant prices are the same or even higher for the same (or better) quality available from a local home improvement store, based on brand and weight. If you already have an installer and find a remnant that is large enough for your job (thats another issue with larger jobs), you will probably break even. Otherwise, we dont see the advantage. Too many cooks and time needed to get no better results or quality, IMO. We have researched 4 sources over a months time to come to this conclusion.

I received superb service from The Floor Trader. They have a great selection of carpet (which is what we replaced when we moved into our new home). Not only did the salesperson listen to what I wanted, he had lots of recommendations based on the good listening. He was thoughtful in his recommendations for my family. The installation went smoothly and our carpet is awesome, too. I love it and it has held up beautifully--super easy to clean. I am very happy with the overall experience.

I recently carpeted my living room and a large new recreation room with carpet and vinyl from Floor Trader in Ann Arbor. I had consulted with three other area flooring stores before finally choosing Floor Trader. It has turned out to have been a very good decision. Jeff Sanderson, my salesman, was excellent. His knowledge of carpet, his patience in taking the time to answer all my questions and in showing me a large variety of different carpets and vinyls place him far above his competitors. I felt confident that I was getting the right thing, and that the people with whom I was dealing were very competent and professional. The entire transaction was easy and installation went smoothly. My salesman, Jeff, and the store manager, Matt Merkel, made me feel welcome on each visit I made to the store and were instrumental in my choice of products. What a good sales experience I had today with Jeff Sanderson. I have a small budget and a small apartment. What I needed was a low price remnant. Jeff gave me the same courtesy as I am sure he gives everyone. I really appreciate the time he gave me to help me find the perfect remnant! I will most definitely pass along his name as well as the wide selection your store has to offer. My remnant is so thick and luxurious!

Jeff at Floor Trader is very passionate and knowledgeable about carpet. We got a great deal on a quality piece of carpet. FYI, this business stocks discontinued/overstock rolls of carpet OR you can buy new. They also do hardwood, laminate, etc. They work with independent contractors to install the products, which the buyer is responsible to scheduling/contacting. This is a little annoying and overwhelming, trying to get estimates and decide between contractors-but the price is significantly less! Jeff was very helpful throughout the process and recommended some great people to us. We are very happy with our new hardwoods and carpet!

Two thumbs up for Matt! He spent time talking to me about how to remedy a faulty installation by another company and recommended solutions. That’s great customer service even though we didn’t purchase the carpet there. Next time we will for sure.

Highly recommend. Very helpful staff and a quality product. Before going to a big box store and waiting around, stop here first.I bought carpet and was very happy with the installation tech that was suggested to me. I will return again when its time for some hardwood flooring.

After very bad experience with home deport for the hardwood floor installation, the floor trader gave us very good custom service and the price for either carpet or hardwood floor are competitive. The installer they recommended is very good. No doubt, we will keep using floor trade for our flooring project in the future.
