I recently had an order for a new bicycle for my wife get shipped to D&D Bicycle in Ann Arbor instead of the store I ordered it at. D&D had nothing to do with the mistake but put significant effort into trying to find a solution for me. They were great calling me even late in the evening to let me know what they had found out. I will probably never shop at D&D they are 800 miles away but anyone who does what they did when they had no role in the mix up are good folks!!! Thanks D&D!!! Best Regards, Mike

Amazing experience here at D&D bicycles in Ann Arbor. I bought my first new hard tail mountain bike and I was accompanied by an extremely knowledgeable, friendly and simply awesome staff. They answered all my questions and provided me with further insights I would never have thought of, leaving me completely satisfied. Special shout out to Dan, he’s the man! Really happy with my bike and highly recommend these guys!

Zero customer service before or after sale. Non-fitting bike was pushed to buy. With an extreme stem I was able to fix this at home. List of other defects, all fixed by me. Meanwhile they had stolen the saddle. When I came to get it, I asked for a pair of cheap pedals so I could ride today. They would not, as a gesture of good-will, just give me a $10 pair of plastic pedals. They took my money, though. They understand 50% of the customer/retail experience.I was in the store four times, so the owners claim that they would love to take a look into this for you is laughable.

Amanda (manager) and Steve were so helpful in assisting me with new cruisers. Traveled from Ohio to get the Giant and Liv Simple Singles. Steve provided help through the process with follow up on sale and pickup date - the bikes were ready when I arrived and I was finished in a few minutes after arrival. Thanks

D & D provided me with excellent service and I highly recommend them. They are very nice and professional. There have a huge selection of current bikes and accessories. My wife purchased a bike and they helped her choose the correct size and they also installed the accessories she wanted. She loves it!!I brought my bicycle in for service a couple months later and it was repaired to like new condition. Were both very satisfied with D&D Bicycles of Ann Arbor!

Full disclosure: I used to work here.D&D Bicycles is run by people who inherited the company from their dad. They do not care about their customers, only the sales revenue and they do cut corners. They do have some quality people who work here but, overall, many people who work here have just enough knowledge to get by. Corporate bike shops like this do not even come close to the level of service that you will get at a small, locally-owned bike shop.

I am old fashioned and I need to see the bike I will buy. They don’t have any stock at all to look at. I would have to buy before I see. I can’t do that. It’s a waste of my time to get stuck buying something I don’t want. Makes no sense to me.

I purchased a REVOLT ADVANCED 2 gravel bike and then had a bad fall during my first long road trip. I brought in the bike and explained what happened. I was very upset that I had fallen and kicked the derailer. It was my dream bike, but it would not shift properly anymore. Steve took the bike immediately and worked on it for about 15 minutes and restored it to the original silky smooth shifting. He did not charge me for the work and would not even accept money for lunch. I highly recommend D&D Ann Arbor. Great bikes. Great people. Great service. Thank you Steve!!!

On June 23, I bought three Talon 3 bikes on the store, they explain me that this would take a couple weeks but that they already create a back order so just be patient and they would call me when the bikes arrive! After more than several calls, more than 10 drives to the store and couple of changes to one of the bikes paying more money! I would find out that my bikes are out of stock and they replacing this model for another one more expensive. Seriously!!!! Just come and get your money after more than a month waiting and with 0 attempts from this store to check the status of my bikes before, the only excuses I had where that my bikes went to another store and they were sold by mistake or that the track is somewhere and it would be a couple more weeks!!Worst experience ever , frustrating and really disappointed with this brand.I got my Refund but that doesn’t make me happy at all after waiting so long, bought gear and racks for my car and spending so much time being the only interested on tracking my bikes!!The other stores that sell Trek, Cannondale, specialized, etc, where More honest telling me directly that they any stock available but your store took it from me giving a false promise that I was receiving the bikes!I am not considering your Store or the Giant brand in the future!!!!!!!

UPDATE (Jul 31): As promised, Im updating to 2 stars from 1 star. Not because I got my bikes though, but because I was able to cancel the order without issue and get my money refunded. On the day the I wrote the review (Jul 7), they contacted me to tell me that both bikes were now back ordered (keep in mind they both still showed up as in stock on their website). So, on Jul 8 we went to Wheels in Motion and Motor City Bikes to see what options they might have. Wheels in Motion had one bike in stock and Motor City had another one at their Brighton store that they could transfer - score! As I was paying for the second bike at Motor City, my phone rang and the caller left a message. I listened to it as I left the store: it was D&D letting me know that one of my back ordered bikes was ready for pickup *sigh*.You can probably guess that I was pretty over the whole thing and didnt really want to give D&D my business, so I went in a couple days later to cancel my order and move on with my life. That was the easiest part of the whole process. About a week later my credit card was refunded the money. And, were now the happy owners of two bikes: one from Wheels in Motion & one from Motor City. Having shopped at all three places, Id recommend going to Wheels in Motion - theyre professional and really go above & beyond to give great customer service.--------------------------------------------------------------------ORIGINAL REVIEW:tl;dr Im 24 hours away from requesting a charge back from my credit card company because Im convinced that D&D has actually just stolen from me & has no intentions on fulfilling my order. Ill update to two stars if I actually ever receive the bikes I ordered. We ordered two bikes listed as in stock on their website on June 25, which we were excited about because every other store says that theyre sold out right now. The website says to expect orders to be fulfilled within 5 days of ordering; I checked and the bikes were supposedly in stock at their Westland & Waterford locations on the day I purchased.I called the Ann Arbor location on June 30 (5 days from my order date) and left a message about the status of our order. After not hearing back by Thursday, July 1, we called and left another message with their office & also stopped in to speak with an associate. The associate told us one bike would be ready by Tuesday, July 7 but the other bike was back-ordered with no estimate on when it would be available (yet their website still says both bikes are in stock). Its now July 7 and Ive not heard from anyone - either the office returning my July 1 call or the Ann Arbor location on the status of the one bike that would supposedly be ready for pickup. I called the office again today at 3:30 pm and reached them after hours and had to leave another message; Im not hopeful theyll return my call. I tried calling the Ann Arbor location but their phones are disconnected because theyre in the process of moving locations; you can leave a message but see previous comments about returned calls. Were going to stop in to ask a real-live person, but I really wish theyd answer their phones.Dont trust their website; I doubt they actually have the bikes in stock that they list. And, if you want to have the worst customer experience ever, this is definitely the place for you.

I purchased a Medium Giant bike and a bike rack. They called to let me know it was ready for pickup. This is all during the pandemic so very little was done to make sure I was comfortable with the bike and that everything was in good, working order. And then they charged me more for the bike rack when I picked it up since they ran the wrong barcode originally. That was a little annoying that they wouldn’t offer anything for their mistake since I also purchased a bottle holder and lights. They also didn’t have a kickstand in stock but I didn’t know this until we picked it up. When I got home with it I realized there was an “S” on the frame. I called and they confirmed that it was the wrong frame but that they couldn’t find the Medium they had in stock. Mistakes happen - I get it, but I’ve received no updates or plans for what to do from them since the bike is currently on backorder. I’ve left a message with the owner as well with no apology or response of any kind. This was a large investment for us to make and I’m very disappointed with the lack of care they are showing since we just spent a lot of money. Our next step is to return it all and go somewhere else. This has been a very frustrating experience.

I bought a new Giant for myself and one for my son this year at other D&D locations as their inventory is spread across several shops. I have had a couple service needs addressed promptly by the Ann Arbor shop as I live there. I have been treated well even thought I dont buy top end bikes, and when I look for one for my wife I will go to D&D. Do yourself a favor, dont buy a bike at a supermarket, support a shop that will take care of you and a bike that will last.

Pretty decent service here. I was given a good deal on a Giant and Liv bike here. Although it took two weeks to get the special order Liv and 3 weeks to get the car rack I wanted. In the end they took the time to be very helpful. I would recommend this place to someone.

This place practices bait and switch sales tacticsOrdered two bikes after clicking the button that states In Stock TodayI received a call stating they could change my order and get the bikes in 3 months. Then to make matters worse, the person speaking told me well you arent the first person this has happened to. They know the problem but keep advertising bikes in stock to drive customers through the door.

I left two messages (over several days) with no return call. I called another store to inquire about basic bike fitting. The person I spoke to (Steve) seemed absolutely disinterested in helping me. The more questions I asked, the more resistant he was. My family of 5 will be going elsewhere to purchase bicycles. Sorry to have bothered you.

We take our bikes here for routine maintenance and are completely satisfied. They go above and beyond bike repair, however. Just yesterday they fixed the brakes on my 99-year-old aunt’s walker. Medical supply companies won’t fix ‘em. They want to sell you a new one. But the mechanic on duty at D&D fixed them in ten minutes. This was a huge help to us, saved us the expense of a new walker, and the mechanic did it with a smile and at no charge. Thanks!!

I was relatively unimpressed with all of the other local bike shops in Ann Arbor when I was looking to upgrade from my entry level bike nashbar road bike, UNTIL I came into your Ann Arbor store and met Felicia. Standing 5 feet 11 inches tall, EVERYONE else kept telling me I had to settle for a men’s bike, while they were also very un excited or encouraging towards my efforts to upgrade my bike and my knowledge about road cycling. Not only were we able to find a Liv to fit me-it is THE BEST bike i have ever purchased and it feels like it was made for me.
