I took my car here for a stalling issue, I was told the issue was fixed after spending over $800 for spark plugs and a fuel system clean. The day I picked the car up the stalling happened before I could even leave the parking lot. I left my car for another 4 days and was told they “couldn’t get the stalling to happen for them” and to bring it back once it shows a code. Don’t waste your money here, I took the car to the dealership where they were able to find the actual problem and fix it within the same day.These guys should stick to oil changes as that’s about as far as their skill set goes. Would not recommend to anyone and would rate lower if I could.Also would like to add I never once went for a “ride” with the service advisor as the owner below stated. He seems to just brush off people that have valid claims as to why this place is a joke and continually discredit them in his “responses”

This place has really gone downhill. Ive been taking my car to them as long as I can remember and the service quality has been declining over the past 5 years. The straw that broke the camels back was when they decided it was a good idea to close early on a Friday before they finished the oil change on my car that I had scheduled for Thursday.

This shop is full of con artists who claim to fix things that immediately prove to be false once leaving the shop. They then turn around and say nothing can be done. Also if you call early enough in the morning you may get to hear Eric the seeming manager be clearly drunk still from the night before. Avoid this place at all cost. Not only did they openly claim to not have a clue of how to “clear all of the check engine lights”, by the time I got home after a 10min drive the light for my particle fuel filter came on which is a part they claim to have completely replaced. Furthermore, they offered no solution and will be hearing from my attorney. Don’t use these thieves.The owners response is also a complete and blatant lie and have now retained an attorney.

Main Street motors has been my go to for awhile now. They use an awesome online car inspection system and even upload pictures of problems to allow you to see whats urgent, recommended and easily remember/record the issues. The owner, Jay, is super nice - texting me a few days after I picked up my car to make sure everything was going well! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a caring mechanic that doesnt oversell you.

I went a while back and when I called for a quote they said they couldnt give me one unless they saw the car. They offered a free quote if I brought the car in, however, when I arrived they knew nothing of a free quote. They offered me a ride back to my house while they looked at my car and said it would be done in an hour. It took 4. Then when I told them I wasnt interested in getting the repair (I found a cheaper place) they wouldnt give me a ride back so I had to Uber.

My Wifes car broke down on freeway, she had it towed to Main Street Motor so living out of town they figured they could take advantage. they replaced a brake line fitting and bled brake line to the back wheel and the bill was over $500 REALY!! I called and talked to owner he gave me the cost of living speel, that how much his rent was, etc. I do not recommend this place. TOTAL RIPOFF!!

Main street motors is great! I took my car there after getting a quote for $700 at another auto shop. They were kind and reassured my that my original $700 repair was unnecessary and quickly fixed my car for less than $100! Great service and great prices.

These guys did an incredible job detailing my very dirty Jeep Wrangler. I had mud and grime just about everywhere because the jeep spends a lot of time with the top down. One day later it looked about as close to new as it ever will. Well worth paying these guys to do it right. They also stuck around after close to let me pick it up when I was running late. I’ve been going to Main Street motors for almost 10 years I think. From big things to small, including car detailing, I’ve had only good experiences. Great customer service and I totally trust them not to lie and tell me that something is wrong with my card it really isn’t. The owner, Jay, is a very kind man too. And the shuttle is convenient!!

Jay and his son Max are always willing to talk with you about any concerns and the rest of the crew is a well oiled machine. They tell you what you need and dont need and get you set up with whatever is most helpful. Definitely give them a try and see for yourself the difference they can make.

We have taken our cars to Main Street for years and I recommend them highly. I dont know a ton about cars and so Im a bit at the mercy of mechanics. But I know that, on more than one occasion, Ive had a dealer or other shop tell me we needed an expensive repair, only to have them tell me the diagnosis was wrong (in some cases, because we didnt need a repair at all) or the price we were being quoted for the repair was too high. So they have literally saved us money. They are friendly, responsive, and transparent about what they do, and what they fix stays fixed. I.e, they do very good work.

These guys have been taking care of my cars, and thus indirectly, my family and me, for over 15 years. I trust them to do good work for a fair price, and never try to sell me something I dont really need. Theyre not cheap, but theyre fair. I dont want a cheap mechanic working on my car, I want an experienced mechanic who makes a decent living, working on my car. I trust them to keep my kids safe when were on the road. I learned about Main Street Motors from a friend those many years ago, and I recommend them to family and friends, any time I am asked if I know of a good mechanic.

Ive been going to Main Street Motors for many years. Great service, they let me know when something can wait a while for repair and theyre thorough. They recently pointed out a mistake on a dealer warranty repair, which was much appreciated.

We found Main Street Motors website sometime after midnight while experiencing a brake issue downtown. We were from out of town, so being able to make an appointment online/send a message to a mechanic while no one was open helped us form a plan and reassure us wed be able to get home okay. Max replied to me before they had even opened and was able to get me in first thing in the morning. They patiently explained everything going on with my brake system and even took out a diagram to help me understand and make informed choices about my vehicle.

This home-town feeling corner lot repair store has a lot to offer. Plenty of parking space in front and back, a very welcoming staff, and knowledgeable mechanics (and front staff honestly). They were quick to get my car in and looked at. They were very understanding of my own lack of knowledge on the issue, educated me politely, and fixed my car quickly. The front of house staff in particular made sure I got the best deal I could and that I walked away happy. Cannot recommend this place more. :)

I really do love these guys! They have done great work on both of my cars, and they are always kind and courteous to me. Theyre great!I feel like every time I bring in my car there are a lot of extra problems that need to be fixed...but Im trusting that theyre just taking good care of my car. Ive gone to Main Street Motors twice now, and the mechanics have gone out of their way to be helpful and show me how stuff works on my car. They were encouraging and instructional when it came to the wrenching that I want to do on my own, while still being happy to do stuff (like installing suspension/bearings) that I couldnt do.Also, Drew took time out of his day to extract a rusty screw for me with very little notice. He did an excellent job, explained everything he was doing, and was overall very welcoming and cheery.

I just had my salty, muddy, crumby, kid mobile detailed yesterday at very short notice. They did a fantastic job! My GTI looks exactly like it did the day I drove it off the lot. Im sure there are places that are a little cheaper but this was right by my work (which they drove me back to), and I completely trusted that I was in good hands.

This is the WORST auto repair shop EVER in my life.They charged me 250 dollars just to inspect possible problems on check engine and battery issue.They quote me over 3,000 dollars to fix the car. They said the alternator is not working so I should not drive. I was considering to give up the car (which might be they hoped for) but just ordered AAA to tow the car home to have a second look.Guess what? The alternator was totally fine and the car is working in a good condition without any fix! The check engine turned out to be oxygen sensor issue, which is easy to fix. The battery issue was just that the connection was too loose.What a joke.. they are so dishonest. I will NOT recommend this place to anyone at all.

Excellent service. If you want a shop that will really take care of you I highly recommend Main Street. I have taken my vehicle here three times now (first without an appointment and twice with) and have been treated nothing but well and fairly. The woman at the front desk is always honest with you about what can and cannot be delayed, and the young man is always very professional. The gentleman they had give me a loft to Enterprise for a rental was a great conversationalist and they all as a team made the experience worth going back. Im leaving Ann Arbor but I will still drive to this shop because they are trustworthy, friendly people.

This place is great! The mechanic stayed late on a Friday night in the very hot summer weather to fix my car. Great service. Very Honest. They will tell you what needs to be fixed and what is recommended. They also have a shuttle service so I can still get to work after I drop my car off.

As always, Main Street Motors provides friendly service at reasonable rates. On this occasion, they determined that an expensive replacement part that I was told by my dealership was needed was actually not needed at this time, saving me hundreds of dollars.

Brought my car in after the head gasket totally failed following a cross-country drive. These guys gave me an honest price and did excellent work. Had a small related maintenance issue a few months later and they did the work for free. Cant recommend them enough.

Took our 2011 Toyota Sienna minivan in for service and could not be happier with the result. Work was completed on time and communication was excellent. The best of all possible outcomes, though, as they were able to warn us of a major repair on the horizon, then allow as we could put it off a little bit longer. This is a sign of a great mechanic — when they’re looking to save you money as opposed to just soaking you from the get-go. Highly highly recommended!!!

Theyve been in business for over 30 Years. & Taking care of friends and familys cars doing a great job on letting us know when things are coming up for maintenance, or if something needs to be fixed. If parts are starting to fail etc. They have helped us make decisions on what we need to fix NOW, & what we can wait for. Always address any safety issues (If ANY) first. The owner is down to earth and friendly. Not some stuffed shirt. Hes a True Person. He tells you like it is. Straight and to the Point. As do the people who work for him. What a GREAT TEAM. Got an oil change for my M3 at a very fair price. Eric was very courteous and the whole experience was quick and easy from scheduling to pickup. Plus, they replaced my nearly-dead key fob battery on the house - nice!

I had my car brought in for service because of a traction control warning light. I admit to being initially impressed with the level of customer service I received.However, when I got my car back, my invoice was missing details regarding over $100 of a $319 service.I was able to get a corrected copy upon request later, but I had to ask for it after I called about the missing details.Essentially, I got charged for a diagnostic test and a really expensive oil change and oil change kit. This is despite the diagnostic test (on the revised invoice) stating an issue with my intake cam switching. They thought the issue was due to low oil.A month later, I had the exact same issue. I took my car elsewhere and got the cam switches replaced.This was an unfortunate, unnecessarily expensive lesson to learn. I wont take my car back there again.

I had a great experience with Main St Motors. I got the inside and outside detailing service which took my 5-year-old car from looking as if I lived in it to ready for resale. They were pleasant, helpful, and efficient, not to mention convenient. Even making a last-minute appointment just before the winter holidays, I was able to get in within a week. They offered shuttle service to and from my work and were done with my car on time. The detail-oriented work is phenomenal -- even the smallest nooks and crannies are clean, the seats no longer have stains from the many meals eaten (and spilled) while on the road, the windshield is cleaner than when I bought the car, and even the engine is sparkling. I would recommend this to all and will definitely bring my car back in the future.

My car needed a quick check as I was traveling through Ann Arbor. The U Mich paint scheme and clean shop caught my eye. The mechanic was super friendly, professional and helpful. This would be my auto shop if I lived here. Main Street Motors has been in business for 35 years.

I was extremely satisfied with my service at Main Street Motors! I have an older car, so have spent a fair amount of time at different auto shops and overall have to say Main Street Motors was the best choice! Kristin is very informative and will explain everything in detail ( which is great for those of us that dont know too much about cars), and will even send you pictures of problems they see in you car. I had to get my brakes replaced (which is really expensive), but they were awesome at trying to work with me to fit my needs and let me leave my car there for a few days while I got all the money together! Overall, they were very helpful and efficient and I would highly recommend any one to go there!

I brought a friends car in for detailing recently and have to admit that I was NOT one to bring my car in for a cleaning by someone else--but now I definitely am! They converted me! They were beyond friendly (everyone) and did an amazing job on every inch of my friends car. It looked like it was straight from the show room. It was clean and sparkling from the trunk to the engine. Overall, very very great customer service as well as car detailing service. I will absolutely go back--actually I am booking another appointment with them today. Impressive work!

They really care about making your experience comfortable. You drop of your vehicle, they’ll drive you home, and they’ll even come pick you up when your repairs are done. They also offer solid advice for DIY projects. Also, they have an extensive warranty program and install quality parts that typically have their own warranty programs on top of it.

Ive brought my 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix to these guys many times and have never been disappointed. My car has taken a beating in these Michigan winters, but Main Street Motors has always diagnosed and repaired every issue quickly and effectively. Not only have they given me a lift wherever Ive needed to go when the repair is going to take several hours, but they also given me a freebie on minor repairs, such as new headlights and windshield wipers. Really friendly, helpful staff. I highly recommend them.

Did a stellar job detailing my Wrangler after mud had leaked in and soaked into the carpets. Car looked brand new on the inside and better than new on the outside, all the mud was gone and all of my belongings were safe and sound! Highly recommend this place, they quoted me $200 less than a competitor in Dexter. The other shop gave me excuses for the high quote that clearly didnt show any knowledge of my vehicle.

A great place to take your vehicle. I had been in a minor accident and needed my car inspected, and they went the whole nine yards to make sure it was safe, without paying the extra $$. The front desk is super knowledgeable about whats going on in the garage, so there isnt anything lost in translation. I had an excellent and easy experience here.

Perfect. They greet you warmly when you come in, let you get say everything you want to about whats wrong or needs to be done, then they do it. They always call you as soon as its done, they always offer to help you out. Theyll give advice and recommendations for everything they looked at, with absolutely NO pressure whatsoever. Then, if you decide you do want something done, theyll try to make every possible accommodation, including and up to price. Just let them take care of your car, so you can life your life and worry about other things. Good human beings!

These guys are awesome. Took my car there to get the license plate swapped (screws were rusted and stripped). The guy there spent 45 minutes in the heat drilling out the screws and putting the new plate on, and then completely refused payment. Two weeks ago my wife had a similar experience there... they fixed a flat (nail in tire) and would not let her pay for anything.Highly recommend.

The guys at Main Street Motors are great! For this visit they identified a floppy fog light that needed gluing prior to replacing the cover. Every other business Ive dealt with for this in the past has just replaced the cover, leaving the fog light to flop around when the cover came off!

A trusted service manager at the car dealer I go to referred me to Main Street Motors as the best detailing shop in town. So I brought my vehicle there and they really delivered the goods. Fair prices, a great job and really pleasant guys to chat with too. Highly recommend.

Worked with me on finding part numbers via NAPA Auto Parts (who delivered parts to them for me same-day), and ultimately matched the repair cost quoted at other shops. Original estimates were way above other places in Ypsilanti; its worth shopping around to get an idea of what an extra 10 minute drive might save you, or to use as bargaining leverage.

Just left Main Street Motors and I cannot express my gratitude and satisfaction enough. After work, as I was going down a dirt road, I heard a screeching noise in my tire. Worried, I headed straight to the first mechanic place I could find. Passing by Main Street Motors everyday, I knew exactly where to go.Once I got there, not only did I notice that the Open sign was turned off, but I also observed a nice young man, Bryan, helping a woman with her car. Bryan enthusiastically said that he could help me even though its after-hours. Despite being obviously busy, he found time for me, jacked-up my car, took my front wheel off, and discovered that the problem was, in fact, only a small pebble that was trapped in my wheel. While my cars issue was a small and easy fix, I still offered to pay. Bryan flat-out refused.Thanks again Bryan and Main Street Motors. I highly recommend them.

I was hesitant coming in since Ive always worked on cars myself or with family help but as soon as I came in I felt like I was at home. The guy who helped me knew exactly what he was talking about and was able to diagnose exactly what was wrong within a very short amount of time. He then gave me a price quote on the cost of parts and labor and stuck to it, even changing out a sensor for free since it wasnt part of the agreed upon price or problem that I was there for. Overall I think Ive found my new mechanic for the rest of my time here and would very highly recommend this place!

Ive been a customer since 1989 when I was in high school and they were the VW bug specialist in town at the time. Ive taken all my vehicles there since then and they have always been great to work with. When I couldnt afford all the work my card needed, they helped me prioritize what had to be done right away and then got a few things more minor taken care of over the next few months after. Wouldnt go anywhere else.

I recently took my car to another repair shop in town Ive used for several years. I hadnt been there in awhile and when I went in, the front desk person was someone I didnt know. I got a weird feeling from him, and though in the end the work done by the mechanics seemed fine, my experience with the front desk was enough to steer me away. Shortly thereafter I had another minor problem with one of my tires and decided to call Main Street Motors. They are very close to where I work, so the convenience factor was high and I had heard they were rated well by other locals. My experience with them was great. They were very trustworthy, respectful, and went the extra mile to make sure they addressed the problem. In the end, they discovered the issue, fixed it, and didnt even charge me. I will go back again--because I got a great feeling along with great service.

I was recommended to go to M.S.M. from the folks at Whitneys Collision Repair, and they did a pretty good job fixing up my car. I had them fix the A/C (which was a special they were running), and replace all four brakes + rotors. They also did an oil change, and now my minivan is running great! I delivered it on a Thursday afternoon, and they had it finished early on Monday morning. Would let them work on my car again.

It is my opinion that the staff here are knowledgeable and proficient in repairing cars. Also, they were very friendly when I approached them in the shop. However, their prices are somewhat absurd and can be difficult to process. Im not certain why they feel the need to charge such exorbitant fees, but unless their policy changes I will not taking my car here. There are just too many options in and around the Ann Arbor area. With that being said, if customers are willing to accept their fees, I cannot fault the company for maintaining their rates. I just wont be one of those individuals.

Prices are way too high. They bundle costs into the prices for parts and people dont realize they could get the parts at an auto parts store for half the price (the reason they wont let you bring your own parts). Stop sending out useless newsletters and pass on the cost savings to your customers. That and the owner sends unsolicited text messages to people on their personal cell numbers.

I want to give a special shout out to whoever that lovely woman is at the front desk who went above and beyond with my petty warranty company to insure that i was covered, and she let me drink the entire pot of coffee and didnt bat an eyelash ;-) excellent customer service and the work is 100 % i wouldnt just trust my Audi with anyone but what made me choose this place was plethora of fancy cars that are always out front. Im obviously not the only one who trusts their work, Some guy was dropping off an SL500 when i drove off.. will be back
