Highly recommend this shop, especially if you are new to the area as I was and looking for a mechanic you can trust. I feel like this is the only place you should take your vehicle if you live in the Ann Arbor area, especially if you have a Subaru. Justin and his team know their stuff, and are true professionals.

Dropped off car w flat and they said they would look at it as soon as they could. I called twice and was told in the late afternoon that they did not look at it that day. Rep said that it was up to me-if I needed sooner, they could put my car back on the street and I could as AAA to tow it somewhere else. If its like that, why wouldnt they say so at 730 AM instead of when they were closing? If they didnt want to help me, we both could have saved time. He just came out and said that to me. I did not complain that they had not had a chance to look at it so I dont know why he said that to me. I know people are busy n short staffed.. So they looked at it the next day and said they could get it replaced the following day. Then I was running a little late to pick it up. I said I would be there close to 5:30 but was running behind. Took them 3 days to replace a tire, but cant wait 10 minutes for a customer? Fortunately, I could pay over the phone and get it after hours. I really hated asking them to wait a little bit for me, I know people work hard and want to go home on time.

I have been having issues with a continuous flat tire on my car for months now. I had been getting it repaired at another business, and decided to switch to Convenience Auto Service after not having the issue repaired appropriately. Convenience Auto Service (and Justin specifically) was very helpful, professional, and transparent about the issues I was having with my car. They showed me exactly what was wrong, allowed me to take pictures, and explained everything they were doing (I have very little baseline knowledge of cars). The service was incredibly fast too. I would definitely recommend this company for auto repairs and will be returning with any other issues I have.

This place was recommended by a friend, and I had been going there for oil changes since I moved to Ann Arbor. This time I needed a little more with a Check Engine light on my 14-year old car. They quickly diagnosed the problem, called to give me a quote for the fix, and promptly repaired the car. It now runs perfectly. They also did a full inspection and noticed a few regular maintenance items that needed to be done, and performed the ones I requested on the phone. Im glad my car is now both safer and more reliable. Very professional and a joy to work with. Strongly recommend.

I needed new brakes and everyone else was closed the only day I had off. I was working 12 hour shifts 6 days a week and because they were across the street from where I worked they got me in right away and was able to replace my brakes while I was at work and they did a fantastic job. Diagnosed the trouble quicker than they thought. Found the parts for a 20 year old car, and had it repaired before noon the next day. I felt I was treated very well, and my car even better.

I had to take my other vehicle in for a major repair. Mikes team diagnosed the problems quickly and took the effort to get high quality repair parts that will ;last for another major mileage cycle. The vehicle was delivered back in the time quoted for a very reasonable price. They even drove me home as I had to leave the vehicleMike and his team are very knowledgeable and pay attention to details. My car was fixed and ready to go at a lot less money than other repair shops and especially the dealer were quoting.

I took my car in for a pre-road trip checkup and oil change. The customer service was excellent; professional and friendly. They found a cracked serpentine belt and a corroding battery cable and replaced them both at a good price. Im happy to say that Ive found my new auto repair shop!

I have used this shop as my primary mechanic for over 20 years. When Convenience took over from P.A.T. a few years back I was concerned the level of service would not match my past experience. Instead I find the same excellent service with the addition of a great website where I can make appointments and communicate via email if needed.Recently I had an appointment for replacing tires on my vehicle and checking a warning light. Unfortunately two days before my appointment my car died due to a bad alternator. I had my car towed (after hours) to Convenience the day before my scheduled appointment, thinking it would just wait until my scheduled time.Instead they got me immediately, diagnosed and repaired my problem (as well as some other minor fixes) and took care of my tire replacement. Without an appointment I was back up and on the road in less than 24 hours from having my car towed to their shop.An awesome experience. Highly recommended.

Excellent customer service and honest mechanics. My prius was facing problems and I was told elsewhere that I needed to completely replace the battery. However, Convenience Auto gave me an honest diagnosis for my vehicle, provided shuttles to and from their office, and topped it off with some friendly conversation. The overall process was great and they really allow you to trust in their expertise. Will be returning to them for all my needs.

I took my car in with out an appointment. They said that would work into their schedule when they could & they did. Maybe i’m Not keeping up on modern prices but $488.XX for diagnosis, new spark plugs & an oil change seems a bit high. For all I know that may be a very competitive price but this car is starting to cost me a lot of money.

Honest place, they say what work needs to be done, but they dont scare you into getting it now and then (this has been my experience at other places). Their estimates are really detailed and you can look up online what they recommend and everything checks out. Their prices match what you would find with an internet search, but maybe not the cheapest place you can find.

Convenience Auto Service South is a true 5+ star facility that embraces Customer Service & Satisfaction.11/11/19 First major snow storm of the year. I was stuck in traffic during blizzard like conditions, my car wipers stopped working! They werent stuck, I tried the old hand out of the window trick to knock of the ice. (Lol). They didnt move! Being an out of town guy, I didnt know where to go for auto service. After reading so many positive reviews about Convenience Auto Service, I made my way to their shop where I was welcomed with a friendly greeting. Within minutes, my car was being serviced by their auto technician. Because of the blizzard like conditions and traffic gridlock, we were unable to get the part needed for my repair. The auto technician went above and beyond, he was able fabricate a part in the shop to meet my needs. He fixed the wipers and updated me on the process. I live in Macomb County, I left their shop at 5:30pm and arrived home at 8:30pm due to icy roads, accidents and slow moving traffic. My wipers worked flawlessly! The entire CAS Team made me feel at ease throughout the repair. Keeping me safe while on the road was their priority! Thank you CAS, it took me a while, but I made it home safe and sound! Mike D.

This place is great. Although they are not the cheapest, but they are offering something no one literally offers; customer satisfaction! They provide actual guarantee for 3 years.I had some misunderstanding regarding my AC before with the other store. The manager kindly called and asked me to come over and they solved the issue. I also asked them that brakes need repair and i was prepared to pay 200-300$. But they said it is covered by our gurantee that 2 years ago we’ve fixed this. I did not even remember that! Also they gave me a ride to downtown AA, making sure i’m satisfied after the previous issue. Could be more happy?!

TLDR: I highly recommend these guys. They are professional, thorough, and honest. They may not give you the cheapest quote, but the quality of work makes the price well worth it.The whole story: I brought my Acura RSX to them a week before Memorial Day weekend with a slipping clutch. They determined that the clutch needed to be replaced, and warned me that it might not be done before the weekend due to heavy workload. They got it knocked out before the weekend, anyway. They missed a couple of small parts on the quote. They didnt charge me for them. In the process of doing the job, they found a leaking oil sending unit. They replaced it . . . and didnt charge me. They also replaced assorted fasteners in my engine bay that have been missing for years, including one that supports my hood latch. My hood finally closes properly. I didnt even tell them about that. They went above and beyond the quote, and still charged me the quoted price. Its been ~two months since the job at the time of this review, and there have been no problems. Ill be back.

I have routinely had great experiences at the Liberty St. location. We take our 2009 Prius in about once a year for maintenance. I took it to the Jewett shop for a checkup + 12v battery replacement.We got a quote for just that within a couple hours via email & phone. I responded with something along the lines of We are going on a few road trips soon and want to make sure the car is ready, we trust your recommendations on anything else that needs to be done. I expected them to come back with something, I was telling them to take our money (I would not feel comfortable doing this at any other shop).Surprisingly they said no, the car is in great shape and theres no reason at this time to spend more money on anything. Awesome people who had a perfect opportunity to take advantage of us and didnt, very much appreciated.

UPDATE SEPT 8, 2018 AT BOTTOM OF REVIEW!Price gougers! Do your research before you take your vehicle to this place! They wanted to charge me $333 for a part that could be purchased online or at AutoZone for $117. When I questioned why it was so expensive, the clerk replied, You know we up-charge for parts, right? And ours are guaranteed for 3 years. I would surely hope so, since my vehicle is 7 years old and the OEM part is just now failing. I took it to my old mechanic (30 miles away-hardly Convenient) who found the part for $200 (also guaranteed) and charged for 1 hour of labor instead of the two hours that Convenience wanted to charge me (Its a 1 hr job FYI). I declined a repair from Convenience based on the price alone. Convenience still charged me $110 for labor (1hr) for a diagnosis that I guarantee did not take 1 hour to perform. I have never, outside of serious engine work, been asked to pay a higher price for a vehicle repair in my entire life, and this (no, Im not a mechanic), was a seemingly routine repair.And as a side note, I did have some other services performed on a separate vehicle, which turned out OK. Only an oil change was done previously.The guy behind the counter is nice until you question him, so just make sure you look up the parts behind your diagnosis before you let them repair your vehicle to make sure youre getting a good value. In my opinion, you will not get value at Convenience Auto Service.UPDATE - RESPONSE TO OWNER RESPONSE:Double check the email you sent me. I wasnt looking for the lowest price, I was looking for a FAIR one. I am unsure where you are getting your math from especially since you never saw the invoice from my other mechanic. I found an aftermarket part online for less (which is of course expected), but my mechanic found the part for nearly $100 less than your price. You wanted to charge me for 2+ hours of labor for a 1 hour job. Your estimate states that you wanted to charge $268.40 for labor and $333.08 for a part that my usual mechanic charged me $248.49 for. Your grand total was $636.74 to replace a carbon can!! My usual mechanic charges $96/hr. for labor and IT IS A 1 HOUR JOB for an experienced garage. This is a far greater difference than $35 between shops. I wish you the best of luck in the future as well - but Im sure youll be in business for a long time since you overcharge an insane amount for your services and people still seem to be willing to pay it.

I brought my 2005 Subaru Outback XT in for repairs and they said they would not work on it. I got really butt hurt about it and wrote a bad review and gave them one star. Which I have since deleted.Well since they wont work on it, I guess my car is really as messed up as they said it was. I have to sell it or junk it or something. Im not happy about it.Anyways. I would not recommend taking your Subaru car here if it is anything serious. It they dont want to work on it, theyll turn you away without giving you info as to what your next best option is.I didnt want to give them a 1 star review just because I was mad. So Im giving them 5 stars, and only the people who read this review will I am not happy with them. And I would not recommend them.

I went for puncture repair. At other stores, only tire replacement was recommended, but here we first checked and thought about how to deal with it. As a result, the nail was only pierced, so it was repaired. Costs were also reduced. I will come again.
