Delicious ice cream spot, with lots of fun and also classic flavours. I loved their coffee toffee ice cream as well as their goat cheese and cherry option. The staff were very attentive and friendly as we selected our flavours. A really nice vibe. Totally recommend.

I had heard good things about The Outside Scoop from family friends, so I wanted to try it. I stopped by on a late Friday afternoon. I was able to sample different flavors, and realized that it would take multiple trips here to try in earnest all of the ones I liked!The staff was friendly and helpful, and the portions were generous. My chocolate-dipped waffle cone made my two-scoop cone even better! What a good treat on a hot day. I plan to return!

No boring flavors here! Tried their Boston cream pie and it has big, yummy chunks of vanilla cake in it with drizzles of delicious chocolate all through. My favorite so far! We also tried the mango sorbet with was excellent and their mixed berry sorbet which was very Summery and refreshing. The chocolate brownie one came with brownie pieces in it plus a big chunk on top! Heaven on a spoon! Cant wait to try all their other flavors!

Cool new area of Ankeny, good ice cream, lots of unique flavors. Will try again. Just didnt think the flavors were strong enough.Had Tortoise sundae with Chocolate vanilla and salty caramel But really couldnt distinguish too much between any of the flavors.Well definitely give another try though worth the stop.

Outside the box might describe the menu of ice cream flavors at the Outside Scoop. True bacon lovers do not hesitate to try anything bacon and I was pleased that the Avocado Toast and Bacon was more bacon than avocado. The Dill Pickle scoop was surprisingly refreshing with real flecks of fresh dill. All the usual flavors are there too, but the adventurous will not be disappointed at the Outside Scoop.

If you have a palette you will appreciate this place. Its gourmet ice cream.Sampled 4 kinds and was equally overwhelmed. Bought a pint. Now I have food baby.Compensates the other ice cream places very well, now we just need a nitrogen ice cream shop. Or if you guys want to start working on that on the side..🤗

Delicious! I was passing through (I’m a Minnesotan) and was so pleased with how amazing the ice cream was. I got a scoop of snickerdoodle and a scoop of chocolate Oreo cookie dough in a waffle cone and WOW. So good. I will be back, I can’t wait to take my husband here next time!

Stopped here today as it’s our go-to ice cream shop. We’ve been noticing that the portions keep getting smaller and smaller. Today we paid $13 for two dishes of ice cream, which we are happy to pay, but the scoops are about half the size they used to be. Really disappointing, the portions didn’t even reach the top of the cup. We’ll be looking for a new go-to.

Their ice cream as good as always. The reason im only giving them 3 stars is because they had one poor girl scooping ice make shakes ect. As well as cashiering. While this other young man filled the toppings in the back and mopped the floors. Rhings that could have been done after the rush. Meanwhile this poor girl is swamped with 30 people in line and he never stopped once to lend a hand.

Honestly the ice cream was good but i specifically asked for a gluten free bowl waffle cone and they gave me the tiny little sugar cones you can get from mcdonald’s… i’m high key mad because i wanted what i wanted and they didn’t give it to me. Next time give me what I order or i will bring my Karen out and you won’t want that:)

13.50 before tip for 2 ice cream cones, charged extra for a cone. Rice crispy ice cream the crispy tasted stale, ice cream taste like gas station soft serve. Also the ice cream was barely on the cone and falling off. Had to hold it sideways to eat it and keep the ice cream on.

Just picked up a couple of pints to go, curbside was a life saver so I didnt have to unbuckle the kids! Weve been many times before and their flavor selection is always amazing. From the tried and true to some of the more interesting sounding choices, everything weve ever tried has been amazing. Weve even had the truck come to the business park where I work and that is a very fun treat as well.

Great local ice cream shop! Ive had the Avocado Bacon Toast, the Dutch Letter, and the Goat Cheese and Roast Cherry. The Goat Cheese and Cherry is my favorite for its unique flavor that Ive only found at one other ice cream place. Incredibly affordable for the quality so an easy five star place.

Super cute! They have many flavors to choose from, and many are very unique. Employees are friendly and offer samples. It took a while for us and others to checkout, but it was a busy night. They have indoor and outdoor seating. And best of all - the homemade ice cream is delicious!

This has been a local staple in the wife and my diet for quite some time. The quality of their ice cream is unmatched by any I have had in the area. My only complaint or desire would be I wish they posted their rotating menu at least weekly.

The delicious smell, just walking in the door, made me hungry. There were so many flavors to choose from. The friendly staff waited patiently for me to decide and offered a free taste. I got a single scoop ice cream cone. The scoop was so big I could barely finish it. It tasted so good I didnt want to stop. I will definitely be back.

Best ice cream in central Iowa. They are reasonably priced as well. They do catering. Theyve handled covid really well and are very prompt with taking orders over the phone. Be careful though, theyll ruin store-bought ice cream for you forever. Not sure its worth the risk. Up to you I suppose.

The ice cream is probably the best Ive ever tasted with the most elaborate flavors (goat cheese w/ roasted cherries is my favorite!) and customer service is top notch. One of my favorite things about the place is the music and the peaceful atmosphere. Even with my twinados running around theres still a calm felt. Best place ever!

Always good. Their menu feels special and reminds me a bit of Jennis. I do think their milkshakes are overpriced/not worth purchasing, but the ice cream itself is wonderful and the waffle cones are the best Ive ever had.

By far the most delicious ice cream place EVER! And the service is always above and beyond no matter how busy they are! Its also super clean. Everytime we have went the restrooms are outstandingly clean which you dont see very often. Wet live almost 1/2 an hour away but it is completely worth it. We will definitely continue to visit.

A wide variety of flavors, both traditional and novel. They make their waffle cones from scratch, and there are plenty of interesting options (including limited vegan options). Plenty of parking and seating (much more than their Indianola location). Dual unisex restrooms. Highly recommended across the board. Accessibility is good not great: no reserved disabled parking when we came, but sidewalk ramps in front and back.

I’m in love with this ice cream shop! It’s a very cute place and the ice cream is some of the best I’ve ever had! I usually get the chocolate oreo cookie dough flavor, but what’s cool is the crazy yet delicious variety of flavors it offers. There’s a full list on the website, but only a select group of flavors is available at a given time because there are so many different options. It just rotates between the different flavors. I wish the owner had a location in Ames because it’s seriously so good!
