Josh is absolutely the best!! He is patient and friendly and not pushy at all. He is the main reason I keep coming back to purchase from Slumberland.
The salesperson in Ankeny was nice, attentive and helpful. While ringing up my item the salesperson asked if I was a veteran and I said yes. He then said that they usually give a veterans discount but the item was already marked down pretty good so he wasn’t going to be able to give it. It was a clearance item. I don’t normally ask for veterans discounts but if you’re working in the store and bring it up you should probably honor your discount like you normally do regardless of what a customer is buying.
We had the best experience at Slumberland. Carol was amazing! She gave us space to look without hovering and checked in occasionally. We got a great sectional with amazing financing!

We went in looking for a reclining love seat and sofa. Everything we liked was going to be 7-10 months out for possible delivery. So the salesperson asked what we were looking for, what color, power options, etc and searched the computer to see what they had in stock that we might like. He ended up showing us a set we loved and it will be delivered in 4 days!!!
The floor sales /help from Eric was amazing. He was kind and very helpful. I couldn’t make my mind up and he was extremely patient not pushy and Took the time to show me several examples of what I was looking for. I would definitely shop there again.
My experiences with Slumberland have always been very good. I have just ordered another living room chair. I have been extremely happy with the quality of everything I have purchased. I also got very good prices. Sales personnel is top notch.
My husband and I were looking for a new couch at the Ankeny location. The minute we walked in Carol a sales person greeted us. Carol helped us through The Whole process. The salesman Eric was very nice and helpful. Our couch was backordered and took 3 months to come in. In that time, we moved from a townhome to an apartment. They say doorstep delivery, so I assumed that meant outside our apartment door. We live on the third floor. Apparently, it means the bottom of the stairs, not actually outside the door. Im disabled and its just my husband and I, so getting it upstairs was not easy.
Good selection with fair prices. The store manager Josh was spoilt and helped us with our questions before we purchased a chair. Will shop here in he future without hesitation.

Terrible experience with purchasing furniture from here. We were told all our furniture would be delivered in 3 weeks (May) and so far we have only gotten 3 of the 9 pieces we ordered. Every time they give us a date, it just gets pushed back and back. They told us the rest of our furniture would be in in July, but on the day they gave us, we called and they said it was pushed back till November. We love the furniture we ordered and everything we received so far, but if we were told it was going to be a 7 month wait time as opposed to 3 weeks, we would have ordered elsewhere.

While I looked at the recliners they had in stock, he went to research which sofas were in stock. With his help we were able to find everything we needed with only one item that had to be ordered. Very friendly and helpful and patient with me as I changed my mind a couple of times. We will certainly be back and I will keep his card!

Eric our salesperson was very professional it was great to find out he was a veteran and I thank you for a sacrifice he explained the futon to us clearly and due to my health I knew I couldnt put it together myself so he threw the delivery and assembly charge in there together and it will make much more sense and Im looking forward to sitting on my new futon the first of August or so thank you folks I appreciate it your assistance and help
We called Eric on the way to Ankeny Slumberland to see if they had anything like I was looking for we could buy today and have delivered, you see we sold our old one and needed it replaced. Eric told me about a chaise sofa they had on the floor. It was perfect! We also got a recliner to go with it. He saved us money with some deals and it was so appreciated. Great experience! It was time to get two new recliners. Seven years ago, we went all out and spent $1100 a piece on two recliners that had power motors and we’re high quality leather. The design of the chairs was terrible, you could hardly rock in them because your feet would barely touch the floor, and I am 6’1”. The motors burned out after six years, one year past the extra warranty that I paid for.We have bought enough recliners over the years that we know their life expectancy is about five years no matter what brand you get. So we wanted something comfortable and inexpensive. We chose Lazy Boy because of their lifetime warranty, and good experiences we’ve had in the past. Slumberland always carries a great selection of Lazy Boy recliner‘s, and I was fortunate enough to meet up with a great salesman, Carl, who understood what I was looking for and was able to answer all of my questions, and there was no pressure involved.Slumberland price matching helps avoid making needless stops and every furniture store in the area, and they had a great selection at all price ranges. I purchased a Sealy mattress today, and had a very helpful salesman assisting me. Carl ( Ankeny, IA store) was knowledgeable in all of the different mattresses, and gave me honest comparisons. Initially, he asked a lot of questions of me to get a good understanding of my needs in order to find me the perfect “ fit”. There is a reason every piece of furniture in my home is from Slumberland…quality merchandise and excellent customer service!

Why would I give Slumberland, Ankeny a five star rating for a sofa I ordered on October 20, last year?! Because, despite the uncontrollable events we all went through,my salesperson Eric was totally honest and kept me updated throughout the process. My sofa was delivered yesterday, exactly when promised, expertly installed, and without a hitch. One more step towards “new normal”.

I was only able to come in to the store at 30 minutes before closing, but Carol was welcoming and helpful. I was looking for a specific type of recliner for my brother. Carol and a gentleman co-worker very efficiently found the recliner, the color my brother wanted, applied available discounts and provided me the information needed if I chose to order. I called to order the next day and the recliner will be here in less than a week. I appreciate the seamless, efficient and knowledgeable assistance.

We purchased a LaZBoy Sectional in 2019 from this location. I cant recall the sales persons name at the time, but he was great. Six months later, I called as the fabric of the sofa had become very rough despite routine care and maintenance of the fabric. I spoke to a woman there who told me there was nothing I could do (despite having purchased the extended warranty). I have since had our first child, and at this point, the fabric is so painfully rough, I cant let her bare skin touch our sectional. I called again, asking for any sort of help or suggestion. A very nice sales person named Carl helped me, and gave me the contact information for the Slumberland Warranty line - they were unable to help. I called back Carl, and he let me know that the roughness is considered nap loss, and it would have been covered by LaZBoy if reported in the 1st year. He spoke to his manager to see if anything could be done at this point, and reported back there was nothing he could do. While I didnt get the answer I was looking for, I could tell Carl genuinely cared and I wish I had gotten to work with him previously. If you shop here, ask for him.There are only two women that work at this location - I wish whichever one I had spoken with had shown an inkling of of care when I had called SIX MONTHS after purchasing this, since it would have been covered. Im beyond frustrated after spending as much as we did on this sectional that now is too rough for our own child to be on, despite only having had it for three years.
Our associate Carol was a great help. No pressure in picking a mattress. Didn’t try to push the high end product when we wanted mid-level. Love the mattress we chose. She was very attentive, asking us questions about what we wanted and showing us the difference in all the products. Made the entire process very easy.

My Granddaughter and I went to Slumberland looking for a very specific piece of furniture for her father for Christmas. The store was busy and it seemed all sales personnel were busy. So we began our search on our own. In about 3 minutes a very nice young man approached and offered to help. He was very patient, listened to our needs, was professional, and made us feel like helping us find the perfect item was important to him. This is the second time we have purchased from this company and had the same result - we were treated very well and found the perfect gift.

I stopped in today not positive I was going to buy. I was in the market for a queen size bed and mattress. Carol Willer approached to help me out. I have never bought a bed before and was unsure on what I was doing. Carol was a lifesaver. She wasnt pushy, gave me general information, answered my questions thoroughly, and then left me alone to actually shop and decide for myself. I cant stress that last part enough. Nothing will run me out of a store faster than when Im trying to think and choose a product and a salesperson is constantly pestering me with prices and products I dont care about. Carol was perfect! After I decided on what I wanted Carol did all that she could to save me money, and even offered a monthly payment plan that was unbelievable (in a positive way). Wow this location is horrible. This isn’t the first time I have visited this location nor the first time this has happened but I was in need of something and this was a last resort. I noticed that every time I come into this location I receive zero help. Today I was in need of help and not one person came up to assist me. The store was empty so today it was very blatant the type of demographic they assist if you know what I mean. The next people to come in behind me was greeted immediately and offered help. I will no longer be returning to this location, no matter how desperate I am.

I placed an online order for an office desk and bookcase on October 25th of last year. I was told the delivery would be November. When that didnt happen, I called and was told mid December. That didnt happen either. January turned into February...February turned into March. I finally received a call on March 31st stating my desk was in, but not the bookcase! I was told in January that the bookcase was in, but they were waiting on the desk. I told them to wait until the full order was in to deliver. (big mistake!) Now the bookcase is MIA. And now instead of delivering my desk ASAP, I have to wait another TWO weeks until they can deliver it and the MIA bookcase wont be delivered until the end of April....maybe?! I will never order from Slumberland again. The customer service Ive received is unacceptable.
I was very happy with my experience with Josh at the Ankeny store. I made all my transactions over the phone and look forward to getting our mattress and bed frame next weekend.

Placed order in December 2020. No contact about when $$$$ order would be delivered. Kept our money for four months. Still no item. Talked to Kurt at Ankeny and he said that they had no need to make it right with us because Slumberland isn’t hurting. I said that we WERE hurting without our $$$$! He made no attempt to make it right. Just gave us a refund. Don’t try calling corporate customer service. The wait is terrible and then they will transfer you to your local “Kurt”. Slumberland will borrow your money for months without telling you an actual delivery date. Banks charge INTEREST to do this!

Our salesperson, Josh, approached us and answered our questions. He didnt hover but he always seemed to be right there when we needed anything, he was very helpful. We purchased a couch and recliner. Josh explained everything in detail and we were comfortable when we left. I would go to Slumberland next time we are looking for furniture.

All staff is friendly and available, but they give you the space you need to decide on your selections. I appreciate having a furniture store in Ankeny that offers great customer service.

First thing we noticed was not high pressure with a salesperson in “your hip pocket.” Our salesperson was Carol. She was very knowledgeable and helpful and very willing to work with us. We would not have any hesitation in going back to Slumberland, ask for Carol and purchase something else.

The lady that helped me today over the phone, Kristi or Kristin msy have been her name, was wonderful to work with and i will gladly work with her directly on my next purchase. I cannot say enough kind words about this sales associateHowever, my furniture shopping experience started at the Slumberland in Davenport and i found the sales associate Mike to be rude, condescending ajd appeared not to have much time for me when he realized the sale would not be a high dollar one. It is unfortunate that he dud not know my shopping patterns and i always shop at Slumberland. This time i simply needed a chair. I will never shop in the Davenport store again and only the store i dealt with today in the Des Moines area as i have several more items to purchase over the next year
