Now if Im being completely honest I buy the vast majority of my beads and beading materials online because it is cheaper with a wider selection. However Michaels does pretty good with their sales and coupons if you have their app which I of course do. That and theres something to be said about holding a tangible item in your hand before you create something with it. And that other hobby store isnt open on Sundays so thats something that makes the trip worth it to me.

Its a quieter, condensed hobby lobby. Still lots of great finds for your hobby wants. Pricing varies, but something for any budget. I LOVE their fall decor, spot on this year. :)

The staff was absolutely amazing! It was my first time out and about on my own since my vision was ruined and I was worried people would be odd about it. I met 3 employees and they werent up in my business or pushy! They were all more than happy to help when I asked too! Very respectful!

Nice selection of art & craft supplies, but there was quite a bit of empty shelving. Registers had acrylic barriers for COVID protection. Employees were incredibly nice!

Great to deal with. Had to return something and clerk was pleasant. No pressure to buy something else. Inventory changes frequently so always new things. Use coupons to save even more.

Curbside was nice to avoid going in. Took awhile and the app is designed so you have to call store when you get there. Waiting through prompts and then waiting for a person to come out did take awhile.

Its spoopy time and they have the BEST decorations and knick knacks! Too bad we didnt have too much money to spend. Got greeted but not very loud, my only complaint!

Online orders were chaotic and disorganized during our visit. Due to black friday there were a rather large set of people waiting for their orders and it seemed only one person delivering them. Other than that, historically they have been rather helpful and have almost anything for any craft you can think of.

Michaels almost always has everything I need for whichever craft Im working on. Their sales are fantastic and if you download the app and become a rewards member, there are always great coupons, too. I have photo/scrapbooking projects coming up and thanks to the sales and coupons, I was able to get it all for about half the price it would have cost me altogether. The staff is also patient and friendly, too. The lady next to me was pitching a fit because they wouldnt combine two individual items at the price of a combo pack, which they were sold out of. The clerk and manager were very patient and helpful to her (far more so than I would have been!).

More like a store that dabbles in art supplies. Staff is not knowledgable enough to know if they have what you’re looking for. Paint supplies are always pitifully low or just out. Ok if you come to buy kitschy shtick that all the soccer moms are currently buying.

I brought in 3 canvas paintings to be stretched that my girlfriend had gotten throughout her travels in Africa and Australia. The framing staff was very helpful in choosing the best option for each canvas. That’s where the good experience ended. It took about 2 weeks to complete, which isn’t bad. However, I received an email saying my order was ready to pick up but when I got there the NEXT DAY, they weren’t even finished being stretched/framed. I got a nonchalant “sorry” from an employee that had just admitted to getting to work 20 minutes ago. He told me that it would take about an hour to finish up but he couldn’t start on it right now. So, I will have to wait another day (2 days after I got an email saying my order was ready) with no explanation as to what happened. I expect much more from a company that claims to be a leader in crafts/projects. Especially when I’m shelling out close to $1000 for 3 canvases. I am nervous to see what the canvases look like when I finally pick them up.

Typical Michaels but it was impossible to find someone to help. They only had one cashier checking out on the Friday afternoon before Fathers Day and the line took forever. 3 stars because their selection is good but their prices are higher than other places and their staff is no where to be found.

I like Michaels for their pant selection, which is quite good for purchasing paint to paint gaming miniatures. The paint is pretty good quality and inexpensive and comes in a large variety of colors.

One stop shopping for art and craft supplies. They have most everything. I am an art teacher and they have saved me many times in a pinch.

Great place for craft projects. Unfortunately for the only two employees I saw in the store, it was crazy busy. The store was a bit was on a hot day but not dreadful. I was only hindered by the long line at check out. Other than that they always have what I am looking for.

Usually they have what I need and the staff is helpful. Today I couldnt find anyone to help me and the check out is a totally different story VERY unhappy people. Itll be a while before I go back.

More expensive than Hobby Lobby, but atleast they dont support smuggle artifacts into the country illegally while forcing their employees to observe their views.

Michaels provides a large selection of many crafting materials. Im a crocheter and they carry a wide selection of yarns to choose from. They also have a rewards program and an app. Watch for their sales to stock up.

Great staff. They were friendly and very knowledgable. Only reason not 5 stars is because what I was looking for they had no cheaper or 2nd option it was only through their framing service for a pretty penny.

They have an great selection of craft item but the customer service is better then Walmart but not much. the low stars is due to how long it takes to check out, mid day 20 min wait with one checkout and other employees just waling around not doing much to speed up the check out process.

Great store for anything art, craft or framing needs. Framing department was very helpful figuring out what I needed and what looks good while respecting my budget. Staff is super helpful if you (like me) need any advice. Only two minor things, the checkout lanes can get busy and slow and keep an eye on prices. Some things are very reasonable, even cheap, but others can be much more expensive than other places.

Never have I ever been treated so badly before, that this shouldnt even get a 1 star rating. Michaels has always been my go to place for crafting, however I was treated as if I was an idiot. I went there to buy canvases and paint. Thats all I needed, and it was just a coincidence that they were having a sale. It was just perfect. 9 dollars for a 5 pack of 16 by 20. Just the perfect size with an 8 dollar pack of 24 acrylic paints. But thats not the best part. Once I got what I needed the next step was to pay for it. Online coupons were out of date though. No problem, Ill just pay for the clearance price. But, unluckily, the canvases were NOT on clearance. Well, aint that just nice. The clearance tag was in the WRONG place. Using that excuse so Ill have to pay full price. No, I dont think so. Its not my problem that youre not competent enough to put the signs in the right place. I even told the cashier, Sheila, I would show her EXACTLY where the sign was. But, she had enough nerve to say, maam you need to calm down. Im going to honor it just this once, but it was the boards that are on sale not the canvases. Never have I ever felt so humiliated or belittled by an employee. You never argue with customers. The customer is always right, and that is law when it comes to working in customer service. I do not see myself going back there for a very LONG time.

I came to buy 5 frames. There was only 1 out on the floor. So when I got to the register I asked if they could check the west Des Moines location. The employee told me that they had 7 frames there at this location. So I went back to meet a lady who told me the other 6 had just come in and they will be unpacked on the floor that night. So I came back today to find out that the other 6 frames were still packed. Meanwhile, they had stocked the other 2 colors of the size frame I needed. I really feel like they shouldn’t have told me they were going to be out the next day unless they were 100% sure.Also the lady today at the frame counter was questioning me and the information I was given. If she has an issue with the information I was given it should be taken up with the employees from yesterday, not questioning the customer.Furthermore, the website says there is 6 available. I wonder what would happen if I bought them online for store pickup today? Would they actually unpack them then?

Everyone is real helpful and knowledgeable about any craft you would want to do. They carry everything for scrapbooking, decorating, Floral, wedding decor which you can make yourself or order made. Tons and tons of choices. They now carry several Isles of Home Decorating Goods quite nice and good quality and decently priced.

This store has friendly staff that no matter how busy an associate is, they are happy to help you. I wish this store was bigger in order to bring in different home decor and organization items.

Rarely have what I need when I go in there, and this time they couldnt come up with any option other than another branded store that would even remotely carry what I have I need four. The odd thing is I had already been to that other brand in the store, and they tried to find what I needed, but couldnt find it Michaels didnt even try. Walmart had a better selection of what I needed but not in the color I needed.

I was buying supplies to make a tutu and looking for the spools of elastic. I asked an employee who was walking quickly down the isle I was in where the elastic was. Without even stopping she pointed and said over there. Then passed me and continued walking down the isle. Pretty bad customer service if you ask me. I think Ill be shopping at Hobby Lobby from now on.
