I visited this store on Sunday afternoon because daytime during the week requires parking meters! Many of the employees are speaking English as a second language, and although their English is very good, with the masks hiding everyones mouths, its hard to lipread, a very necessary aid to many of us, even those of us who wear high-tech hearing aids. The store itself, however, is well organized, clean, and I was able to soon find what I needed and be on my way. For some reason, the front doors are not working! One must enter through the mall entrance. Keep this in mind if you have any options for parking.

Be careful you will spend too much with these great prices. The shoes are not good but the rest of the stuff good. Went shopping today and get a few things. The store just reopened 2 days ago. Short staffed with kinda long lines, but just be patient and enjoy the experience. Took lots of pics of the stuff I was looking at and things people might find interesting. Enjoy!

Really a shame this huge JC Penny is closing. I think every staff member we encountered in a 40 min time frame was incredibly nice and helpful. Really reminded me of sales associates in the older days who went out of their way to help you even if you were just passing thru their department trying to find another. Pure nostalgia at this location. I have to admit I was ambivalent about visiting this department store walking in, but walking out I was really glad I shopped there. This JC Penny store is huge, and Im guessing that unless there is another store to take its place that it will be missed by many Alaskan folk coming in to Anchorage to load up on stuff.

If I had the option of putting 0 stars I would. I wasn’t even in the store with my family 2 minutes before a loss prevention guy started following us (I know bc he had a radio and I’ve worked for them before) and no he didn’t just come up to us and leave he proceeded to follow us out of all the people that were there when we were just looking for shoes. He than went and checked all the shoe boxes that we were looking at. I won’t be giving them any business and neither will my friends or family. Racial profiling is not acceptable.

The Staff are friendly and attentive..The prices are very reasonable.. I cant wait for next payday so I can shop there

Trendy place with newspaper menus. Had soup this time and it was wonderful,( lobster chowder). My husband shared a slice of the Philly Cheese Looked different and made different by tasted great! All in all a good experience....

Was there for 15 min and only 1 person (who was cleaning) even said hello to me but they sent security to come watch me shop for makeup after 3 min of me being in the makeup area! 8/20/21 3pm.

I was unable to find anyone to assist me in mens wear during my recent visit. I also tried to call them multiple times without success.

I was really disappointed shopping for clothes. Almost all clothes were on the racks wrinkled. Nothing like it used to be with nice clothes.

Though was unable to find an associate with the means to take my measurements so I could get the right size fitted shirts as I have lost 40 lbs since the last time I bought shirts. The associate at checkout was the greatest she help save me over $100 and pointed out i could purchase another shirt for free if i wanted to be grab one she patiently waited as i went to the rack to pick put the shirt. If I would have been able to get help with my measurement In the mens suit section instead of having to try on multiple sizes until i found the right size i would give my experience here 5 stars.

Hard to find things short staffed

Yes as I was checking out I was sharing my shopping experience with the representative and she seems disconnected not engaged and not listening to me.

JC Penney’s has always had nice quality clothing. Sometimes you can find just the right thing here that you just can’t find anywhere else in Anchorage. They also have great sales, and you can place an order on line. Of course they also have shoes, who doesn’t need another pair of shoes, coats and purses for each season, and a salon to go with all your purchases to make you feel great.

Great selection on most things. Return policy for clothing is 30 days which is great because I could not decide on a dress for my brothers wedding so I was able to take both home.Very happy with this store. It never disappoints. Plus they have great sales.

The store looks great, but you can only find help if you stand in line. After you stand in line out of the 8 items I put on the counter was cashed out they were put in a garment bag but one pair of my pants was folded up into a small rectangle and placed in the bottom of the bag after I asked that it be placed back on the hanger that was sitting on the counter.

Good ole place with history in down town Anchorage. Newest additions house a good variety of stores with new ones coming in from time to time. Just how Malls are supposed to be.

Big retail store offering a large variety of designer and non-affluent design clothing, shoes, accessories,home & bathroom decor. Sometimes their staffing can be very helpful,kind & professional,yet there are some employees there that are not helpful or courteous whatsoever. They also have a Sephora department in the JCPenney, Anchorage Alaska store offering cosmetics,face/body care products, fragrances and so much more.

One of the only places in anchorage to get quality stuff at a decent price! They have the best sales ever and dont forget to check jcpenny coupons on line! They always have something!

Kinda bummed... I scheduled my hair appointment at 5PM, came early, but wasn’t served until 5:17PM. Then was rushed because it’s a Sunday and they close at 6PM. I instructed the stylist I wanted my hair to form a V and to be layered. I only got my hair rushed to be formed into a V and instructed I needed to leave because they close at 6PM.My hair is in a undesirable V with no layers and I’m disappointed. I paid for an express cut just for a V... that I could’ve done.

Always good service, great selection, always watch for sales.. But make sure they ring up at register correctly... Always check to make sure all the security tags are removed before leaving.. They turn the tags off, but forget to take them off every now and then...

We went to have pictures taken of our family together at Christmas, in the Photo Studio. There was a total of 13 of us, and the youngest were 2 - 18 month old twins, a 2-1/2 year old child. The pictures turned out awesome! I was surprised how well they turned out since there were so many of us, and the little ones. I never thought they would be able to get one picture that would be good of all of us, but the girl who took out pictures was Great! She really did a good job keeping the kids attention, and getting them to all smile at the same time! She gets high praises from me!!! And I highly recommend them for pictures. They always do a great job and we always get great pictures!

More dresses

Very average service and dated department store. There are some great off season bargains to be had here if you have good timing and can get find your size. I buy pocket tees here every year and look for bargains on sweatshop dress shirts and pants. Dont expect anyone to offer help with anything and you wont be disappointed.

I love the sales. The staff isnt always the most friendly or helpful but if youre looking to shop and not be bothered, here ya go. More cashiers would be great.

The employees try. But the store gets in its own way. I paid for an item online for local pickup. Site says give them 4 hours and item will be ready. I drive an hour in 4 hours later, no one has touched my order. I had to wait another hour to get an item I already paid for. Pennys just has not caught up to how people do business.

There sales are great and the kids always find clothes they really like. Everyone is friendly ,the store is clean . The only downfall is when the store is busy, there are not enough checkouts and the lines get pretty long.

When I made my selections the approximate shipping time was 4-7 days for in store delivery and pick up. After I provided payment and finalized the order my delivery dates change to delivery dates of December 26-January 9? What the heck, I wouldn’t have proceeded! Why would I want Christmas Presents AFTER Christmas!! Canceling an order isn’t that easy either. Typical JCP bait & switch!When I call immediately afterwards to speak with someone I’m placed on hold... AND I’m still on hold as I’m typing this.. 47 minutes LATER! My call is not important regardless of what that recording says, this is not customer service!Unsatisfied Customer!!

Very nice mall to window shop. Interesting & love the food mall upstairs.

Great place to go shopping. Love the baby section for my daughter and my baby brother. Also love the men section for my clothes. The only reason I rated JCPENNEY 4/5 because oh my jeebus the prices are outrageous. Got 3 items and it totaled to over $70. Crazy pricing but great clothing.

The girls I talked to were very helpful no questions asked they just helped us find put prices and direct us to fitting rooms. Crazy good sales today and very welcoming in the store.

They have a great dress selection at fabulous prices especially with a coupon.Simple to shop here because hardly anything moves from the area. I think filling the walking areas with more items is a pain. When youre finished navigating the racks and tables you may need a cold drink or massage in the mall.

The cashier had a thick accent, and when I asked what she said the 3red time, the woman standing next to her at the register, yelled what she was trying to say to me, she was extremely rude. The cashier was nice though
