I bought my Santa Cruz Hightower here and all the staff were very helpful and very professional. They set me up with the bike I wanted for a fair price, and they had great customer service. The shop if one of the coolest in town. Lots of space and lots of gear!

I ride my gravel grinder a lot in the lower 48 and came up to Anchorage to work for a month. I did not bring a bike and quickly realized how many mountain bike trails were here. Chain Reaction Cycles set me up with rentals until I bought a 9 Zero 7 from them to take home. They know they stuff and their customer service is exceptional.

Visited to look for a decent entry level hard tail bike and made a mistake. Nobody said a word to me when I walked in, no greetings, no offers for help or anything. It looks like they specialize in high end bikes here and Im somehow glad I wasnt helped, otherwise, I probably wouldve been laughed at or got sent to Walmart. The store looked clean though and it seems like the employees are knowledgeable from overhearing one talking to a client.

Ive bought five+ bikes from these guys. My favorite thing about them is that they have them set up to my measurements before I get there. I never have to adjust anything, they just know...those bros are pros! Their brands - they all ride them, they all race them, so their experience is priceless.My new Sterna SRAM Rival build adventure bike with a 1x11 drive train fits me perfectly. I picked up an extra HED wheel set mounted up with slicks so I can switch from gravel to road application in minutes. Its about to get some serious miles!

Rented a pair of bikes from them and one bike was double booked. I ended up waiting at the shop for a little bit until they found an even better solution to my originally reserved bike. They ended up comping both rentals, which they definitely didnt have to do.Incredibly professional, helpful staff with top of the line bikes. I cant recommend them enough!

These guys are amazingly helpful and always make time for your issues when you walk in. Half the time they’ll address any bicycle issues I have on the spot and send me right back out with a tuned bike. Their house brand, 9zero7, is an amazing bicycle too. Being as critical as I can, I cannot think of any issues with the frame or build. If you want personalized service and attention to detail then this is your spot.They are also very knowledgeable on where to ride and will point you in the right direction.

Chain Reaction listens. When my girlfriend was looking for a bike, they asked her what she would use it for and paired her with a bike to suit her concerns. The other 2 shops we visited just want to sell her the bike they liked. It was amazing to see how the other shops truly didn’t listen to her. I take my bikes to CRC and they always seem to break someone free to have a look if something happens that needs tweaking. Great shop, great staff.

This is the best bike shop in Alaska and one of the best I have worked with anywhere. Everything is fairly priced. They have their own line of frames for gravel and fat bikes (9zero7) that are perfect for all Alaska conditions. They stand by their work and are super knowledgeable about all things related to cycling. If you want a custom built bike fitted specifically to you and service techs to make sure that bike lasts, this your place.

These guys are the best! They are knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely helpful. They worked with my repair timeline because I live out of town (very cool). And my bike is running more smoothly than it has in years and years! They gave me tips on maintenance and everything was accomplished at a very reasonable place. I would recommend these guys to anybody and intend to bring my bike back there for repairs whenever I am able.

I purchased a fat bike from Chain Reaction a few weeks ago and was very pleased with the experience. The staff was very knowledgeable and helped me find a great bike to fit my budget, instead of just pointing me towards something more expensive. I will definitely be going back to Chain Reaction Cycles in the future and recommending friends in the meantime.

The service is very personalized and the mechanics are always there to immediately diagnose the problem. I purchased three bikes, two Santa Cruz bikes and a 907 Snow and I instantly fell in love with the perfect geometry and riding smoothness of the Santa Cruz machines. I ride my Santa Cruz near daily and what I love most about it is its consistency and predictability. The owners ride these bikes too and you are very likely to see them on the trails on any given day. I have never really enjoyed biking until I bought a Santa Cruz. Check these guys out you wont be sorry.

If you are going on a flight and need a cardboard box to package up your bike this is the place to go. I was offered a few different options for boxes and the staff nicely walked me through the proper steps to protect my bike even though I wasnt buying anything. While the staff members dont seem to come up to you and ask if you have questions (in my experience) they are happy to help if you ask. Ill definitely be coming back again.

Over the years, my husband and I have bought a total of 5 bikes from Chain Reaction Cycles--mountain, fat, and road. We continue to return to the shop due to their excellent customer service.Neither of us are competitive riders, and staff have taken the time to listen to what wed like to get out of our rides and direct us to something appropriate within our price range. Weve been more than happy with every bike weve purchased, but more importantly I can say that the quality customer service didnt end when I walked out of the shop with my new bike. As an example, several years after purchasing my fat bike I suffered a low back injury (L4/L5) that left me unable to do much for a few months. When I was finally able to consider getting back on my bike, I swung by the shop to ask them about fit in light of my new limitations. An hour later, I had a slightly different stem that made all the difference in the world. Thats quite a bit of professional service time for what some shops would consider a small purchase (one new stem).Thanks for all of the help, Chain Reaction, and keep up the good work!

Very friendly and helpful place. Some items can be a little pricy but most of the mechanics are very knowledgeable and this store does a lot for the community. I live on the north part of town and its usually worth the drive to go to this shop instead of others closer to home.

This past weekend was the Little Su 50k. This is a race you can run, bike or ski. I had signed up planning to run it but have been injured. Feeling defeated, I thought I would not be able to participate. Lucky for me, I can bike without pain and lucky for me I had an epiphany late Thursday night that I just might be able to call Chain Reaction and rent a bike for the race. I sent an email at 11pm that evening. No more than 5 minutes later I got an enthusiastic, Heather, we can rent you a bike from the owner as well as some much appreciated feedback about my ability to complete the race having never ridden a fat tire bike. Friday afternoon I walked into the shop and it turned out that while there were no rentals available, the owner was letting me use his wifes kick a** bike for the race. The whole team there is so friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. A HUGE thank you to James Stull, his wife Amber and the whole Chain Reaction crew. I biked the race Saturday and had the time of my life....so much fun. I took it out for another ride the following day and I never wanted it to end. These guys are top notch and I am a customer for life.

I have purchased a few bikes now from Chain Reaction. Even if I want to purchase a brand they do not carry, I find one that they do because of their excellent service. You do not have to be a competitive cyclist to receive good service. I have never seen any judgement given and the staff has always been very knowledgeable and helpful. I called to get some beta on the best local mountain biking in and around Anchorage. Ive only been here for a few months and just wanted to ask someone where to get good info. I had just called another bike shop few minutes before and they were rude, short, and totally unhelpful. They made it apparent that I was wasting their time. When Chain Reaction answered they were friendly, helpful, and totally steered me in the right direction. Im planning on upgrading to a full-suspension bike this year-- Ill be sure to give Chain Reaction my business. Some bike shops don’t understand customer service or community development.
