If i’m being straight honest , i would have to give them two stars . i came in for an auto start, they couldn’t install it due to my car being a unicorn. but when they called me about them not being able to install it , i asked if they can do tints and led’s instead and they got it done right away. When i picked up my car at night , i noticed a two big bubbles on drivers door . i would have to admit that they did a better job than the other company that did my last tints . but then the next morning , i noticed a big crack on one of my door panels and when i called them they said that it was already cracked but they are pretty much new because i had to order new ones due to the other company breaking them when getting my last tints done. and then he told me a different story saying that when the guy took them off it just fell apart . They said they’ll reimburse me for my door panels but to be honest i wouldn’t trust them installing the new door panels so i said screw it and i’ll do it myself .

Excellent products and customer service that is some of the best I have experienced. You are more than a customer, they treat you like you are family. True professionals. They have a customer for life!

Had AS installed, went back to get my 360 cam put in with no issues 2 yrs later.....compatible prices but great service and informative customer service. Tomorrow Ill see if they can do same day tint.

I cannot speak for the longevity of the auto start I purchased yesterday but I can speak of the service. We were installing on two vehicles. When choosing the systems we were provided information from a knowledgeable salesman in order we make an informed decision. The product was better than anticipated and at a reasonable price range. Of course this depends on who you talk to but when I asked around it was less than what other people paid for similar devices.It was simple to drop off the vehicles. I predicted when scheduling that my vehicle would be ready in time for a 5 oclock appointment, it wasnt. I learned this kind of installment really needs a full day commitment.When picking up my vehicle the staff, wearing a mask, took the time and patience to help me understand and set up the system. I am 60+ years old and it takes patience and time for me to move around the app store, email, etc. while wearing a mask. I do have confidence in operating the system from my phone and in contacting this establishment if future learning or problems arise.Thank you safe and sound for great service and for wearing a mask.

Unfortunately, I have to give a 1 star rating for our tinting experience. We dont live in Anchorage and therefore had to line up a tinting appointment with when we would be in town. We made the appointment about a month in advance. On the day of the appointment, we received a call while we were on the way over to drop the vehicle off, informing us that the staff member that does the tinting was sick and we would have to reschedule. We only had one more day left in Anchorage, so we agreed to re-book for the following morning.The following morning, we dropped the vehicle off. The vehicle had been booked for a full tint (7 windows). Unbeknownst to us, a very light grade tint had already been applied by a previous owner of the vehicle to two of the rear doors (we had assumed it was factory tint). Our instructions were to remove ALL the tint and apply brand new tint to all the windows. This was not done, and only new tint was applied to the tint-less windows. We weren’t informed of this and didn’t know until we picked up the vehicle at the end of the day - Fine, that’s not what we wanted done, but we can live with that. We were told to not roll the windows down for 3 days so the tint had time to fully dry.We drove home. The windows were not rolled down for 7 days. The car was not washed. We went to wash it finally and noticed a number of issues. On the drivers window, theres 2 fairly large bubbles that keep reappearing (you can try and squeegee them down, thats what you see in the pic, but they just reappear after a few hours). On the passenger side window, theres a large crease in the corner that is raised up quite a bit that you can easily feel with your fingers. And when you roll the window down or up, you can hear a “paper flapping / crinkling” sound.Obviously we’re not very happy with the tint job. We tried contacting Safe & Sound again, but it’s been a week and we haven’t heard back. Somehow I don’t think we will…. We have a suspicion that the job was rushed - one could presume there was a back-log of tint jobs from the day the employee was sick, and we had to “cram” our vehicle in the next day because were leaving town to head back home. We also have to assume that’s why they didn’t remove all the tint and do all 7 windows, there just wasn’t time. Because of this, maybe the job was rushed and the result is, well, have a look at the pictures. The windows are still tinted, and the staff we dealt with in-person were all friendly enough, but being ignored when issues are brought up is really unacceptable, especially considering it’s not that simple for us to “just take the vehicle back”. Quite honestly, given the lack of response when we did try and reach out with concerns, we’re not sure we would want to take the vehicle back there anyways......

I was sent here the other day by my girlfriend under the impression they had installed the auto start and would program the new remote...When i arrived they told me that they hadnt and proceeded to spend 20 minutes or more programming the remote anyways...when it was done, i asked them if i owed them anything...they said, a good review!! I said, you got it. So here it is. These guys are great. Go here and give them your money. They didnt ask me for anything, but when the time comes to get something done that does cost money, this is where i will go.

After the removal of the defective Safe & Sound/Auto Start installed system to send it in to the manufacturer for repair, we discovered that our brake lights were not working. We returned the vehicle for repair. They determined that the problem was at the factory installed trailor-tow package, which they disconnected. When we returned to pickup our repaired vehicle, they demonstrated the now-working brake lights. Sadly they did not work. Now we have a vehicle with no brake lights, no trsilor breaking ability, no trailor running lights or break lights. We now own a vehicle that can not be driven, and Safe & Sound has no idea why. Thankfully our new Mercedes-benz has factory equipped alarm & remote stsrt system...

Decent place people just think they know too much

They do good work, but they also had three different guys give me me three different prices. The guy i talked to gave me one price then when i went in to have work done he gave me a totally different price. They need to honor the price they give the customers and if there employees dont know the right prices they should stick to just doing the work and not tge sales!!

Got a 2 way remote starter and very happy with it. My family has gotten 6 or 7 from them and havent had any problems. Very friendly, helpful staff and everything was explained well on using it when I picked up my vehicle.

I had my very old autostart replaced by this company today. I had nothing but a GREAT experience with them from starr to finish. I shopped around before picking out who to replace my autostart with. 1.5 years later after getting an aftermarket alarm installed, the alarm system either wasnt installed properly from the beginning theres a wire failing now. Its draining my truck, constantly having to jump it because due to work I now have it sitting for long periods unlike before. Took it into a shop (now living in CA) and they said they have to go inside and look 1 by 1 to find the issue and it can get very expensive, possibly over $500. They told me it it really wasnt worth it to get it fixed unless I absolutely was attached to it. They also said my factory alarm works just fine, which Safe&Sound told me it didnt which is why I got a new alarm system. Super annoying. Drone app has been crashing lately and hardly works right.

This team spent a great deal of time in helping me integrate a sound system with Bose on a 2019 GMC. Two stages and 3 tunes. Got it done with precision sound and quality!! Thank you Drew, Paul and Safe and Sound Team!

They installed an autostart system and updated my locks for me in just one day and then gave me a very detailed explanation of how everything worked when I picked up my truck. I found the price very reasonable for the speed of the work and level of customer service I recieved.

Speaking from my perspective the most important thing for any business is customer service. These guys did tripple backflips to help me through a problem with an extremely complicated system that they did not install. It took 3 trips but thats the point they kept at it until we came to a conclusion. Awesome work guys!!! Thank you for ALL the help!!!

Had an appointment for two weeks and when I showed up they told me they couldn’t put my Viper auto start in because “they have a contract with Viper” and I hadn’t bought it from them. The showroom is blaring ads from the radio so loud you can’t hear the customer service reps.

Shadiest place in town, save yourself the trouble and go to best buy. Bunch of derpy high school dropouts that could care less about customer service and doing a good job. 6 hours and $200 wasted on absolutely nothing with no recourse or apologies. Wouldnt recommend to my worst enemy.

I took my truck in to get an auto start install at 9 am and they got it done around noon. Service was fast. Went to pick up my truck. They park my truck on the side of the road while theres plenty of parking space up front. I noticed some of my things been move around for them to get access underneath the dash. I then did a visual inspection and i notice about a 1 paint chip with fresh finger print mark on the rear passenger door edge. Also I today found out that one of the auto start wire was wrap around my gas pedal which lead me to write this review. Plus I never got the box or owners manual for the auto start.

The attention to detail and friendly customer service here is top notch. My car wasnt completed to the high standard they hold so they asked to keep it longer to make it right. I appreciate great customer service and great value and high standards of work and I received all three here!

I was in a pinch, some A$$hole cut the factory wiring harness off my vehicle stereo and caused electrical issues in my rig. I drove all over town looking for parts to rebuild it and it would have been a pain on the buns. I threw a hail Mary and stopped into safe and sound to see if they could help, and sure enough they happened to have the right part I needed, non inventory product, to get my project completed. The wait time is stupid. Set a day a week in notice to do a simple change my front speakers because simply they were busy at the time, sitting here since 9am and it’s almost 1pm now. They had a week for them to know I would be here right? Favorites? Went to perfectionist and they got me going already so sorry for the guys waiting at safe and sound

Great customer service attitude and helpful counter staff, though unfortunately technical expertise is lacking. Three trips to fix simple issues with headlights after an autostart installation on a Ford pickup is unsatisfactory. I recommend finding another installer.

I called requesting a quote on window tint and the guy on the phone (he never said his name) acted as though I didn’t know what windows I wanted tinted. After dumbing it down for him, I hung up. I called back to schedule an appointment for Saturday and was told they don’t tint windows on Saturday’s. Why even be open then? Definitely lost my business and will never recommend to a friend or even an enemy.

I first came to Safe & Sound two years ago to get my front windows tinted to match the factory tint on the back of my vehicle. I also purchased a compustar auto start system through them and had them install it. The service was wonderful, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Two years later, I was having a battery troubles with my auto start so I came back to have them reset it. The service providers were polite and speedy with service, and took the time to explain to me what was going on under the hood. Very friendly business and I would definitely recommended them!

Disappointing service. Ever since I moved to Anchorage this place has been my go to. Customer service has always been just ok, but I have never had to come back with an issue before and thats pretty big considering overall low quality of work you used to get around town. First time I do they failed me.Dropped off my car at 9am for the whole day to have my autostart fixed (installed by them, but would not accept the responsibility), never got a call when it was done. No one answered when I called twice to check on it. Luckily I decided to head that way 15 minutes before they closed. Paid $75 for supposedly fixed autostart which stops working next day. When I call back Im told that they didnt fix anything and just reprogrammed my autostart (not at all what I was told when I picked it up) and Im more than welcome to bring it back to pay another $75 to do the same. Expected more than this from you guys. No more.

They had the best price for an autostart for my difficult car (Volvo yr 2000). I had great service getting it installed and when I blew a fuse a few weeks later they took care of it for me. Definitely recommend!

Unfriendly staff, with price quotes that are biased based off who you are(if you drive an expensive/new car they quote you higher). Quoted me 100$ for side window tints, and went somewhere else and had it done for 79$, where they actually provided service, and didnt have the attitude that they are entitled to my business. Also earlier in the year quoted me 100$ more than best buy to install a pioneer ddin receiver, and as other reviews have said, they dont back up their own work, while best buy provides me a warranty on install at no cost.

This place is great. Often, there is something intimidating about specialty shops if it is something you dont know a lot about. You worry they are going to sell you the most expensive product that you dont need and make you feel like an idiot.These guys are the opposite. They take the time to understand your needs and get you the right solution for you, not just sell you the most expensive product or put something in your hand and get you out the door. I know nothing about car audio and am glad I stopped in to this shop.

Great friendly and knowledgable staff. I wanted to upgrade the stereo in my girlfriends 2017 KIA Soul ! and they showed me all the options and gave me the best bang for the buck equipment. I had a $500 budget in mind for new front component speakers and a small, mild sub installed in the rear. Boy was I wrong! In total, it cost $1,205 with everything installed and well worth every penny! My girlfriend just loves the way her new car sounds. Highly recommend anyone needing audio upgrades to check them out. Now I wish I had her autostart installed here.

Bought a car from these guys... yup they screwed me over. Pressured me into buying it then less than a month after I got it found out it needed a whole new transmission. Pretty sure the mechanics report was fake they provided with the car, since it was dated two days prior. I would not ever buy a car from them again, nor would I trust them with any of my sound equipment.

Got my front windows tint matched to the stock rear windows and the front brow tinted. Match is perfect and it looks absolutely great!! Great customer service also!

Watch your wallet! Went in for a new auto start remote, paid $60 sounds high. Can buy them online cheaper. One big bald employee tells me it costs another $60 to program it. Went back 2 days later and yet another employee programs it in less than 2 minutes and tells me its free if you buy it from us! If you look like have money BEWARE!!!!!

They came to my house and helped my wife with her autostart that they installed a few months ago. Prompt, friendly and efficient service. I would definitely recommend this business for remote start devices for car or truck.

Horrible prices and customer service. Called check cost of running a diagnostic on my starter. Rob quoted me $100/hr. Their competitors don’t charge a fee AND right now there’s a groupon for brand new remote starter for $169. When I told him this he said “Really? Then go use them.” Ok... not a problem. This place is a rip off, pls take youre services else where. I spent $250 just to replace my hid bulbs ( Just bulbs ) only to have 1 fog light ballast replaced the following week for $50 and asked them to see if the other ballasts were in good condition, then left there then the next few days my other fog light ballast went out, took it back in to fix for a $100 dollars for 1 ballast and asked them why was the last ballast I replaced was just $50 and then the guy said it was for labor, I mean come on $400 dollars for 4 bulbs and 2 ballasts. I can a buy a whole hid kit online low beams and fogs for a $100 and a $100 to install. I gave them the benefit of doubt just to lose benefits , this place is a joke and pls dont get ripped off like I did and do youre research. Ps my low beam hid driver side light beams brighter then the passenger side. SAFE AND SOUNDS SUCKS

Remote start quit working that I bought and had installed in Wasilla this was a new 2005 f250. I explained this to manager and he said we can look at it here or you can drive to Wasilla. A mechanic trouble shot and rewired the unit. It worked a couple of days then was working intermittently. I took it back and the manager said let me look at it all his mechanics were busy. The manager came back after about 90 minutes and said you can pull it out. He showed me the motherboard he replaced and told me if this doesnt work you will probably need a new remote.(After 13 years) It has worked great for about 7 months so far. If I was going to get a remote, stereo, or window tinting I would go to safe & sound on old seward hwy. I asked how much for parts & labor $ he said nothing hope it works. They stand behind parts and it was originally done in Wasilla. Thanks HH

Watch out of this place they will break your door panels when tinting your car, and then tell you do you see any Plastics on the floor when you ask them if everything went smooth.I brought in a car to tint about an hour after purchasing the vehcle, they broke my door panel trim and left bubbles on my window tintwhen I came back to tell the tenting guy that there was a problem, that he broke my door panel and all he could do is start screaming, so I asked for them to pay for the panel they didnt seem to have any problems with that they would give me a refund back to my credit card which they have never done I have to call my credit card company and file a dispute.That was not a pleasant experience and I was there for the first time and my last time I guarantee you that.....No thumbs up for this place....

I drive a Mercedes GLK 350 2010 which was serviced B1 schedule Dec 2016. Ive never had any electronic issues and just needed my auto start reinitialized since it stopped working after the battery was replaced in the car about 6 months ago.I initially took my car to Mercedes about 2 weeks ago and they recommended Safe and Sound for reinitailizing my car start. I drove my car to Safe and Sound this morning for my 9:15 appointment and about an hour later they drove my car back to the front of the store and said my radio wouldnt shut off and none of the buttons were working. I stepped inside my vehicle and was greeted by my radio display shutting on/off intermittently. I pressed the heated seats and the radio shut off. Also, audible static could be heard coming from the radio when pressing the heated seats or other buttons.As a computer technician I immediately thought that a surge or fault must have been introduced into the system. Even when I would manually shut off the vehicle the radio would flash on/off thus continuously draining my battery. The technician did mention that they had removed the battery terminal to see if that would reinitialize my auto start though.I asked for the store owner but was introduced to the store manager who started to explain that its a plug/play system and theres no way anything they did could have caused these New issues that Ive never experienced before with this vehicle.I asked him to get into the car to show him what was occurring and he suggested that they pull my vehicle around back again and remove the auto start completely. Once they removed the auto start the car would shut down without the radio turning on but now none of the buttons for the radio/phone work and only the radio can be controlled by the steering wheel. Also, from inside the car you cannot manually press the off button on the radio as well.All the employees at Safe and Sound were very friendly and cordial but found it frustrating that no one would take ownership and told me the radio was going in/out before they even touched it. Which is extremely odd since everything was working fine before I gave them the keys to my car. They also suggested that they have cars that have all of a sudden stopped working while in their custody and that its just the luck of the draw and that sometimes you inherit other problems that were going bad anyway...lots of deflecting.They did not charge me for the service but now I have a less functioning vehicle than when I drove it in. Also, now I must have Mercedes diagnose my vehicle to see what other components may have been compromised due to whatever happened to my vehcle while Safe and Sound was servicing it.This may cost me several hundred dollars with Mercedes due to possible negligence but will update this post to let you know what the dealership finds.I currently dont know how Safe and Sound my vehicle is at this moment due to the obvious short that magically appeared during my appointment this morning.Doug MckeeP.S. The master mechanic at Mercedes mentioned he never heard of this problem before since the heated seats are on a totally different electronics connection.

One of the worst audio stores I have ever been to and defiantly the worst in AK. Their only care is money. Everything is way overpriced from their installs to the products they sell. Horrible customer service as well. Wont even answer a question unless you pay them. Charges 400$ for a install that takes around 1 hour - 2 hours.

They are rippin off people, they charge too much, they dont even sell hid bulb individually they want it pair for $100, what a rip off if you buy the hid bulb on line at the morimoto dealer it only cost $40 and some other huys here in anchorage selling the morimoroto hid bulb for $30 and $40. Bad customer service they like rippin people off. Im giving you a negative impact and also you guys suck what a bad tint too many scratches i even went back to replace the tint coz they told me i have a warranty but they even wanna do it again bad people
