Gave my older (20+) vehicle to them to fix a brake problem. They said they looked at it on a Saturday, but since closed on Sunday didnt call until Monday, just to say they couldnt fix it because it would take 2 days to fix. So basically I was out 3 days with the problem not being fixed. I started looking at the problem myself and within a day I found a solution and fixed the problem.Im thankful that they were unable to find a solution for this, since I saved money by doing it myself and more importantly I know its done better than what they could have done.I gave 2 stars because at least they didnt charge me for storing my vehicle there for a few days...

They do a phenomenal job at a fair price and theyre quick. One of the guys at the counter likes to get attitude and get offended when you call him on it though and threaten not to help you. Overall a good business that should axe one employee thats doing more damage to their reputation than good.

Needed to get an exhaust-system pipe repaired, after my elderly Toyota suddenly started rumbling like a loud hotrod. Unlike a repair chain I also called, Muffler City could it inspect it the same day -- and ended up doing the repair within a few hours of drop-off. It only cost $83.50, with inspection.On top of that, another employee patiently walked me through several possible options to replace my cars now-unusual sized tires. But when we finally did a physical inspection, he said theyd get me through the winter and I could delay the purchase several months. So impressed and relieved by the friendly, professional and honest service. I will definitely turn here again for future repairs and service.Lastly, though they may be further out for some, the downtown location make it easy to run other errands, eat lunch and do some shopping while I waited. That really worked out well, too.

First come first serve basis, went in to see Jason the exhaust specialist. Nice guy and did a great job with the exhaust installment. Gave me an estimated price then once the car was on the lift he called me and gave me the actual price to verify if I want to go through with my installation. Dropped the car off around 10ish and got it back around 330pm.

Flat Repair Review:1. TLDR - Fast, friendly, straightforward, affordable.2. It cost $35 to have them put air in my tire, bring my car a few blocks to their shop and fix it in under an hour. They were very patient with me and I really appreciate the way they treated me and the service they provided. Rarely give 5 out of 5. They deserve it.

Called about a catalytic converter making noise, they told me to show up next morning at 8am. Showed up at 7:59 and had to wait 2 hours to be seen. They looked at the vehicle and said they had someone in training working on exhausts and would not be able to complete the job.What kind of shop with a name such as muffler city does not repair exhaust systems? They then had the audacity to charge me a fee for wasting my time there.Very disappointed.

Showed up bright and early, was told my vehicle would go in the shop within 45 min to an hour. After an hour and a half, I called mickeys muffler down the street and was told they would get me right in.I decided to take my business to someone who actually adheres to their timeframes specified.

Guys helped me with all my informational needs. And are getting my car in quick! And a man in the parts department , who tells the best dad jokes anywhere.

This place is great and very fair. I have paid for service and I have had sometjinhs covered. In and out usually a day (first come, first served). They even tried to fix what another shop messed up. Awesome muffler and exhaust shop!!

My tire kept losing air and I took it to where I originally got the tire change over done several times and they keptfixingit only to have it just about flat the next morning. I took it to Muffler city only twice and they figured it out and I didnt have to get a new tire! Im taking my truck back there for all my change overs! They only had me pay once and since the issue wasnt fixed the second visit was free! They have my business!

Love it here, between muffler city and eagle automotive theres nothing on my vehicle these guys cant fix. They arent over priced by any means and makes fast available service almost immediately. You want tires, rims, exhaust, diagnostic on basic components and minimal work done on your vehicle come here. Thats not even all they can do jason and Dan are the go to guys. Keep up the good work fellas!

My tires had to be special ordered (Toyo Open Country A/T), and they came in exactly when I was told they would arrive. Price was very reasonable and my new tires were installed in less than two hours. I highly recommend Muffler City & Brake.

Does not work on all components of exhaust system. Disappointed they used excuse that they had someone training so they couldn’t perform the work I needed.

I called the company looking for wheels for my vehicle. The gentleman who answered the phone was so ashamed of who he was and where he worked that he would not give his name. He told me the wheels that I was asking for was not right for my vehicle and would only give me a price but not answer the question about the offset.Not a company I would it all suggests.

Came in recently with my 18 durango RT, did a straight pipe exhaust and didn’t like the sound of it because it sounded too raspy. My muffler rusted off of my old 2001 crv I needed a fix. I called the day of and they were able to get me in same day. Dropped off my car around 8:15am was out of there before noon with a brand new muffler. Only 260$ they had called me before hand to let me know the exact price before they did anything. Very professional and nice. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent service, friendly and helpful staff. Just what you would expect from Alaskan Family Owned Business. Sean and Mickey were so very helpful with coordinating the mechanical repairs on my vehicle. The estimate was fully detailed with parts and labor costs and all of it was explained to me beforehand. The actual repairs were done perfectly and the final bill came in under the estimate. What more could you ask for? I will definitely be a return customer.

I generally like their work but today I found their pricing less than honest after telling me that they honor the military by offering 10% discount on wheels/rims. My purchases today were primarily wheels and I confirmed their discount after dropping my vehicle off for the work needed. When I came to pick my vehicle up, they didnt want to honor the discount as I was told. The reason was arbitrary and deceptive, because apparently, the discounts were only for alloy/aluminum wheels/rims. Well, that is a nice bait and switch and lips service for honor the veterans. I still like their work in general, but will instead split some work to Arctic Imports instead...I have found Arctic Imports to be decent and a straight shooter when it comes to pricing.

This shop is great!I searched all around Anchorage to find a great performance summer tire. I kept getting really expensive quotes for all seasons.Muffler city had exactly what I wanted, and it was the best price by far (other shops quoted between 220-300 per tire.)Keep in mind my tires are relatively wide (235/40). Everyone else had to special order tires, Muffler City had them in stock.I didnt have time to wait around as I had to be to work. They even let me store my rims and tires there overnight so I can pick them up the next day!Quick, no B.S. shop, great pricing, and Dan is super courteous.

Did not torque the lug nuts properly. Could not get them off by hand. Had to go back to get them loosened. Very rude to me and said that I was wrong. They did fix it but now the tires are out of balance and a hubcap was broken. Not sure how the tires can get out of balance from them loosening the the lug nuts. Ive been using them for years but will not go back

Really good company. I found this place when I got a nail stuck in my tire. They offered me the best options on tire repair and ever since they patched up the whole in my tire, I have not lost pressure and the price was reasonable. It saved me a lot of money because I didn’t need to purchase a new tire.

Staff extremely helpful, friendly and down to earth. Came here to get winter tires and wheels on our Suburban a couple weeks ago and it went really well and fast! Id recommend this place without reservation. When I took my vehicle back last week as we thought the issue we were having a day or two later might have been new tire related they reviewed everything and went the extra mile. The issue was actually completely unrelated as I found out a couple days ago however it was really nice to know they actually did a complete double check just in case.

Get your warranty in writing. They tell you one thing before install and change it up when you try to use it.Tire balance free after install turns into a courtesy balance the first time around. Not to mention it wasnt balanced properly.

Excellent service throughout the projects I had done to my truck. Which included headers and a new exhaust system. They went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. A fellow by the name of Rudolph and an excellent mechanic/welder which his name escapes me were great. I will recommend them to anyone who is looking to improve their vehicle.

Im only giving two stars because one of the employees during my visit today was very rude and snapping at me. You cant do that were busy, so we dont have time to check on your tires too Go get the keys now! You will be served last now THAT made me mad. I thought it was first come, first serve and he flat out told me I was going to be served last even though I came in at noon, but instead, I have to sit here all day and wait for customers who came after me to get their cars done before they even take mine back. I gave two stars because I do appreciate the nicer employees who took care of my car in October.

I have been going to Muffler city since I was 16, awesome place to do business, good people.

Ive been doing my tire changeover here for about 4 years now since they are close to work. Ive also bought two sets of tires from them. Since I do not do any while I wait work, I always leave my multiple cars with them at 8am and they call me when it is ready. Most of the time that is before lunch. Their prices are fair and they get your paperwork done fast and easy. Never had any problems in about 12 changeover transactions.

A mechanic at COSTCO recommended Muffler City to me for the best price on studded tires. I shopped around and the mechanic was right. I love their soft rubber studded tires for winter driving--the best ever for getting up our icy driveway. Just get them off your car in spring when temps are above 45 degrees. The soft rubber wears out fast in summer. Final piece of advice: dont drive in winter in South-central Alaska without studs on your car and dont walk on ice without studs on your boots. Studs are cheep in comparison to emergency room visits and body shop repairs.

Not a very high-speed place. Asked multiple times if I could send(text) them a picture of my issue so they could tell me their thoughts and their response was wed have to get it on a lift. Not going to waste my time bringing my buisiness somewhere where they cant take a moment of their time to give me an initial impression of my issue. Makes you wonder how much attention they give their other work.

The job took longer than expected - but that was because they went above and beyond, replacing rotted leaking brake lines that another shop ignored only 100 miles prior.
