If I could give a negative review I would. I went in mid week and bought a dryer vent tube. I specifically asked for a metal hose. The salesman did not let me in the store, and I had to wait outside in the cold. The salesman came out flexible hose with metal liner (a $40 dryer hose) and said vent diameter are all standardized. I specifically asked 2 times if this will work. After being assured 2x it will, I bought it. This weekend I find out its too small.I called today to ask if I can exchange for a 5, and the salesman said they cannot help me. All sale final, sorry. The phone call became aggressive and defensive. I the K Appliance employee assured me Im at fault. I quickly told them this isnt going to be an argument (even though I felt like it). I felt incredibly taken advantage of. While I can afford to tip this small business $40 - not everyone can. I usually attempt to leave good reviews but I believe this small business gives other small business bad reputation. I believe K Appliance should stand behind their business practice. They are either appliance experts or they are not. I was deceived into buying a simple $40 dryer hose that did not work. I will happily patronize Lowes or Home Depot for half the price. BUYER BEWARE!!

I highly recommend K Appliance. I have used K Appliance for over 40 years! It is a local, family owned business. Andy, the owner for the past 12 years, is very knowledgeable and competent, and responded to my requests immediately. I have used K Appliance twice in the last month and was extremely pleased with the results. The first visit was to fix the burners of my gas stove top. Some of the igniters werent working. He recommended replacing them all and now I have a new stove top that will last for many years--the rest of my lifetime Im sure. (see photo) The next visit a month later was to fix the fan for the stove top, which had jammed. Andy came at 6 PM on a Friday night, as promised, and fixed it in about 2 minutes! Also asked him to fix an expensive hanging light fixture and with a lots of ingenuity and expertise he got it done. Then asked him to fix a closet door, also not in his area of expertise, but again he repaired it easily and quickly. Call them!

Ks was very responsive !! Was able to schedule an appointment quick and they were able to work around my schedule. The technician was so polite and professional- a pleasure to work with. Showed me damaged parts and had replacements on hand.Very thankful for their quick help. I would recommend in a heartbeat.

I had a problem with my dryer leaving my clothes damp still even after running for an hour. I explained my situation to Andy (whom I’m guessing is the store owner) & he recommended, no KNEW EXACTLY, what the problem was and what I needed. I bought the part he said I needed, replaced the old with the new, crossed my fingers... and Voila! It worked! Clothes dry! I was so happy I got to speak with someone who knew his business!

I called into k appliance to purchase shipping bolts was left on hold to locate them in there systemTold the associate the make and modelThey told me I needed 4qty shippping bolts for my application in fact i only needed three. Continued to sell me 4 bolts.Then I come to fine the thread size is completely different and won’t fit my application.They won’t accept any returns or store credit even.120$ lost because a store owner made a simple mistake and won’t make it right.I will never do business here again based on how I was treated.I will continue to use ace appliance repair and reliable appliance

I brought a dryer in for a diagnostic. The technician charged me a $70 fee and $140 for parts and labor. When I took the item back it almost caused a fire at my home and did did not work. I brought it back in and the technician then told me another part was also bad and it would cost another $200 to fix.He should have caught the initial problems in the $70 diagnostic which would have shown that the item was cheaper to be replaced then repaired. Horrible service and the technician basically hoodwinked me for $210. I will not be going back to K Appliance or recommending it to anyone.

Lack of communication and over priced, I dropped off a vacuum to be fixed and after over a week of them having it, I bring it home to use it (you’re not allowed in the store so I couldn’t test it there before leaving) and it was still broken.

I have a Kenmore dryer, purchased in the early 90s. A couple of times since then, we have had to replace one part...The only place I was able to find the part was K Appliance. They have always had the part and given me excellent service.Time for another visit!

Not only did he fix lower motor to old Eureka, he had the air filter and took apart machine & made it good as new! It has more suction, he also showed me how to turn machine lever to suction or floor....something we didnt know....all for $44.00😎 Thanks K Appliance!!!

Completely incompetent and rude, oh and they lie to their customers as a matter of course.I dropped off a warranty Hoover in February - A broken plastic clip was the issue preventing the canister from locking down. Ive contacted them several times only to be told each time the parts are on back order. Ok, I understand how back order works and that is something no one has control over, no problem, Im patient. But I also got the sense I was being placated with that - I hadnt even given him my claim number, just my name and make of vacuum.Today I contacted Hoover directly and as it turns out they had sent them the correct parts back in MARCH... So either they are too incompetent to know they have the parts or they have been lying to me on have been keeping my vacuum on purpose. One is obviously absurd so that leaves me to think they just dont run their business very well and couldnt care less. I know its a warranty claim but isnt it worth getting off the books in a timely manner?They shouldnt be authorized by Hoover to do repairs if this is the way they operate. I can tolerate terrible customer service and communication so long as the product or service is on-point, but they failed in every way.

Would have given it zero if I could. Short story: in moving, I misplaced the charger cord for my Norelco shaver. Had to go out of town for business. Stopped in at K appliance and purchased one - $24.95. I did this knowing that I could go without, and that I could buy it online for $5.49 and no shipping. I really try to support local business, especially family-owned.Went out of town, used once, and it would not work. Get back home 10 days later, find my original charger and all is good. Went back to K for an exchange, intending to keep it for a back up. Even though it was new and would not work, they told me it was nonreturnable, period, for whatever reason. I will never return. So consider yourself warned.

Horrible place, these guys are crooks. Do your homework before going there. They charge outrageous prices for service and parts. In addition they will not fix anything if it breaks at there shop. They had my Delonghi espresso machine to replace the water pump. They put a hole in the top lid and denied doing so. They would not replace the $2 part. I will not be using them ever again. I hope you dont either. This review would have been a zero if given the option.

Years ago, in the pre-internet days, (late 90s) I called K Appliance from a rural, remote location with the symptoms of a kitchen stove with an oven that wasnt working. Really couldnt understand the ESL person who answered the phone but it appeared they could understand me so I soldiered through giving the stove model number and what wasnt working. Basically all I was getting from them was unintelligible gibberish. I just couldnt make out a word. But they sounded like they understood the part I needed and had it and gave me a price. They took payment and sent me the part which worked flawlessly as soon as I installed it. Was very uncertain if I was going to get the right part and etc. but the guy diagnosed the problem over the phone and almost had the part number off the top of his head and that correct one showed up. So I was very pleased with K Appliance. The guy I dealt with knew his stuff and dealt fairly price and shipping wise with me. Ownership could have changed since then but they did me right.

Called a few places to replace the heating coil in my oven. One other appliance store didnt have it, a second didnt answer their phone during regular business hours. Ks appliance had the heating coil I needed in stock at the same price I was quoted elsewhere. Seemed like they had quite a few things in stock besides what I picked up; the customer service and their competency about appliances seemed good to me.

The owner was willing to stay open past closing long enough for me to get there for a needed item. I ended up arriving before closing time, so didnt have to keep him, but found hed already pulled the item and has it ready for me. This is the only place in AnchorAge Ive been able to find Dyson air multiplier and hot + cool fans -- which puts them in front of any of the big chain stores. Dont let the face that its cluttered (I.e. stuffed with merchandise) or that its in an older smaller building (instead of a big box mega corporate store) keep you away -- locally owned with excellent service

Have been going there sporadically (read: only in desperation) for 20 years. Always horribly over-priced. $60.00 to replace the vacuum belt on a $30.00 vacuum. $25.00 (which didnt fit) for a plastic ring for rotation of my microwave plate. Found the correct size at Harolds Used Appliances for $5.00. Avoid K Appliance except in desperation; then ask yourself how desperate you are.

They offered to stay open long enough for me to get there when I called 10 minutes before closing. Sure, it was expensive, I could’ve gotten it cheaper on Amazon or whatever, but I don’t mind supporting local when they have good customer service.
