Im not sure why every single person in there is the worst. Staff members gave dirty looks and actively walked away from us asking where something is.You can absolutely find anything in the store other places, for cheaper, without the pretentiousness.

A great selection of items. Their staff were friendly and asking if I needed help. They have general ranch stuff, like food for your animals, tools, chickens (in the spring) , bunnies, boots, weapons , etc.

I was looking for a specific lawn mower. CAL Ranch website in Idaho Falls showed that they had one in stock. I hooked up the trailer and went down to get it. I did not see it out from but went inside to ask about it. I found a CAL Ranch employee stocking shelves and ask him where they keep the driving lawn mowers. He looked quickly at me and said we dont have any. I showed him on my phone their website that said that they had what I wanted. He said never trust our website and kept stocking the shelf. Never even looked at me or said Sorry, we are having inventory issues with our website or anything. Totally ignored and didnt care that I had driven all the way down there. I understand there can be issues with inventory, but at least an acknowledgement that I was even present or a Sorry would be appreciated.I looked today on their website and the same mower is still showing in inventory. You think that if they knew they had a problem and someone brought it to your attention, it would be adjusted and/or corrected.

It was a bit expensive at times, but they always have a great selection of boots especially in the winter. They also have the cutest animals in the spring its quite fun with a definite rancher vibe that you cant find many other places. Id recommend going especially since in Idaho in the winter its hard to find a good pair of boots for a decent price and their selection is great!

Great place, they have fair prices on a lot of their products. Customer service is okay. They are friendly but sometimes do not seem the most helpful when I ask certain questions. Great location other than that.

3 star because the store itself is good. However, the fact that I had to kneel on the gross bathroom floor in order to take care of one of my childs basic needs is unacceptable. Theres room for no less that 2 changing stations in the bathroom AND ITS A NEWER LOCATION. How did a changing station not make the list of things needed? Not pleased at all.

I really appreciate the merchandise that the store carries. The wide variety saves me from having to make several different stops. Unfortunately, I have been appalled by their level of customer service. On numerous occasions I have asked random, wandering employees where I could find a certain item. In nearly every case the response has been something like, Its over there (pointing a finger). The isles do not seem to be labeled or numbered, and not one employee has ever taken the time to show me what Im looking for. Today, for instance, my wife went in the store looking for a Christmas gift. She asked an employee who was folding pants about the whereabouts of the item. Without ever looking up she simply stated If you dont see it then we dont have what your are looking for. My wife left the store rather disgusted. Funny thing is that I know they carry the item she was looking for. I found them myself, with zero help from the stores staff.

After saving proof of purchases on 10 bags of “Loyal Dog Food” (so we would get the 11 bag free) we were told last nite by the assistant manager Jeremy that the program has ended. For a year we have bought this dog food that was a recommendation from an employee. Not one checker told us the program has ended just in case we needed to know. There were no signs and no communication on this matter. When asked to speak to the manager he could care less about our issue and he was short and very unprofessional with us. He did not offer us even 50 cents off our new bag of dog food for our inconvenience. My husband and I have over 50 years combined of retail experience and were shocked by the attitude of this assistant manager.

Hands down my favorite place in Idaho Falls to go! They have an awesome selection of clothing all the way down to whatever you need! I have been shopping there for a long time and enjoy my experience each time I go into the store!

My daughter was in town and wanted to surprise her husband with a new rifle so she asked her dad to help her. They headed to Sportsman’s which was cleaned out of a lot of stock but they said Cabellas had that particular make. Cabrllas had it, and whispered it “was much cheaper at Cal Ranch.” (Thanks, buddy!) They got the same model for 140. less. I love that whenever I am there they carry salted nut rolls.

Your cashiers could use a lesson or two on how to he friendly. I didn’t even get greeted when I walked up to check out. They talked amongst themselves the entire time I was checking out and I even had to ask for a bag for the stuff I bought. If I could find the stuff I buy there at a different store in town I would shop there instead.

What a joke! I would fire their online personel! Looking for a deisel heater showed they have 4 in stock at idaho falls location. Drove 20 miles to purchase one just to be told they are out of stock! Pisses me off I waisted time and fuel!

Left my shopping cart with over $65 worth of items near the register today when I realized NONE of the cashiers were wearing a mask properly. Every one of them had their noses uncovered. My fiance is immune compromised. I cant take that risk, not with more than 105 local covid deaths!! I saw multiple employees, many not wearing a mask at all, most with noses uncovered, and saw only ONE employee wearing a mask properly. Is that even legal?

Good western store has a great selection of work clothes, boots and just about everything else

I visited the store today and were extremely disappointed in the quality of customer service. We were not greeted walking in the store (cashiers were NOT busy and casually having conversation between each other), as we walked around the store, not a single employee spoke a word to us, we were not asked if we needed help finding anything and did not see a single employee in any section of the store. We went to check out, and the cashier did not say hello, just started grabbing stuff. We tried to make small talk and she rolled her eyes and did not say a word. She did not smile at all. I was so dissatisfied with my experience here. I would not recommend going into this store if you’re hoping for a friendly atmosphere.

Store is decent and nice selection but as I go there every week for animal feed I noticed that the level of maturity in their employees is going down at a drastic rate. Will probably start going else where. Thanks for making the decision easy

Its better than the Cal ranch in Rexburg. The pricing is still the same (more expensive than it really should be), but the customer service is better. And when you have a farm or animal question, having good customer service is important and very helpful. I even had one of the store managers step in to help with a purchase and he seemed genuinely motivated to help and make it a good buying experience. I appreciated that. Must be better management than the Rexburg store, as customer care always starts from the top.

After purchasing a rasp we noticed that the price we paid wasn’t the price advertised. Normally if within a couple dollars we wouldn’t of said anything. But it was a 17 dollar difference. The elderly customer service rep told my wife that there was no way that rasp was the price she said. And didn’t want to give her the money back. Then after I told them I’d go back and take a picture of the price sign to compare the product to the sign they quickly gave the money back and end of story. But I didnt appreciate the representative informally calling my wife a liar. Knowing my wife wouldn’t say anything because she’s too nice. I did and their attitude changed. Taking advantage of a quiet girl to make money is ridiculous. I won’t be back.

There is a great selection of many items from clothing to hardware. Friendly staff with plenty to checkout your purchase. Easy parking with access to the door.

I use to love going to Cal when it was in the other location. Not very long ago while visiting the store you would have multiple employees ask you if you needed help or if you were finding everything ok. Nowadays, not a soul is around, if you happen to see someone wandering the store, they are tagging along with a co-worker, too into their own conversation to care about their customers. Then on your way out the door, there are 6 employees standing at the front just chit chatting and laughing. What happened to the good old Cal Ranch customer service? Not impressed.

I like farm and ranch stores and these guys do as good of a job as any of them.

I can always count on CAL to gave what I need for my dogs, cats, and horses. They have everything my fiance needs for work too. The jeans the carry are an amazing deal for the quality. For $40 he can get 6 months of wear, while working in an outside environment. Plus, their kids clothes and shoes are adorable!!

Cool store for anything farm related and quality western gear like fencing material and cow tags. Also have great western, wear and boots.I dont recommend buying post hole digger tho, too much work. Buy a tractor instead.

My wife and I are in the market for baby chickens. She went to Cal-Ranch in Idaho falls and received great information from a staff member. He said, the chicks would be in sometime this week but he thought Monday or Tuesday. We call both days and they said not today but sometime this week they should be in. This is horrible customer service and looks bad on a company who doesnt even know when their own inventory will be coming. To also keep telling customers to just call back everyday is to see if their inventory came in because they cant keep track is not a good business model for customer service.

Cal Ranch is a go to place for us. Lawn and garden supplies for reasonable prices. Slightly higher prices on Science Diet cat food, but other pet supplies at great prices. I frequently get Dutch oven supplies from them. We are also appreciative for allowing us to bring the dog in to the store.

Very neat and organize store. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Top Notch products. I get most of my pet supply products here. In the back they have a grooming salon for your animal as well that is awesome.

Went to get propane at cal ranch at 8:45 PM. Their Hours are listed as close at 9:00PM. I was told they Could then an older man said they couldn’t it was to close to closing. Then he said goodnight to all and walked out the door. As always no customer service from cal ranch. Guess that’s why it is alway last on my list.

They offer cheaper prices online and wont match their online pricing in the store.

I have went to this Cal Ranch twice within a week and have not succeeded to get what I need, or the employees just dont wanna work, and direct me in the correct direction, also dont try to get a key made cuz the kid dont know how to search for a key which I had to find then he said it was a hair to long, my response was that that why he had a key cutter, I felt he service was very poor.

I usually buy ammo there and its a great store but last time they told me I have to give them my birth date. Im 60. I asked if I look under 30 she said its their new policy. Time to buy ammo at sportsmans and cabelas.

This place needs a big customer service wake up call. No one asks if they can help you find anything let alone all the employees like to stand in circles talking instead of doing there job. Yes Im am the mother of an employee who under bad circumstances got let go. I also still liked to shop there until everytime I walked in you would here the employees gossiping about my daughter and telling everyone there thats her mother. This is not ok. The store in ammon has lost all my business and I have a lot of friends who will not be shopping there because of the circumstances. Ive done customer service for a very long time and this is unacceptable.

Been in here several times. Employees have been pretty help full especially in the clothing section. I believe the names of the employees that have helped me in clothing are Bailee , Madison and Madi. Not for positive. They went out of their way to help me find everything for my kids for 4h and helped me decide on everything. Management doesnt seem like they care much about customers but besides that its a decent store.

There is no other store around like CAL Ranch. Do you want to dress like an authentic cowboy? Theyve got a huge selection of everything from cowboy boots to hats and Wrangler jeans. Do you need a needle to shoot your cattle up with antibodies?? Theyve got a huge selection of that. Guns, rat poison, cattle roping supplies, horse riding stuff, giant water tanks, and an amazing selection of snacks. I could spend hours here and everytime I shop here I spend waaaay more time than I plan to. If you live on the big city and want a taste of how farmers and ranchers shop then check out CAL Ranch!

I’m from out of town and needed a few things from there. Found my way to the gun department and super disappointed with the customer service. Mark and Alec (the employees) talked to each other and didn’t bother with me, finally when I got there attention they were rude and disrespectful I will not be coming back.

The Ammon Cal Ranch hosted the 2018 Chicken stock event for us. They went above and beyond to make room and help us out. The employees were helpful and understanding of the space we needed. Thank you so much.

The new store is awesome; clean and very big. I seldom go there, though because I have to drive clear across town to get there. Its lost its country hardware store feel, though, and that makes me sad.

Feed prices tend to be a higher then local grain sellers. A good go-to place for farm ranch related items. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

The gun sales guy wouldnt even acknowledge I was there hes seemed to be more interested in talking with his friend about. The 2 cheating on each others spouses I had questions about some pricing but I didnt want to interrupt the 2 because they were on a role with dropping F Bombs so fast I couldnt even keep up. Moral of the visit I wanted some info and the sales man would not give me the time of day. So I told my wife about what happened and she went and talked to manager and she said she had complaints about the guy aswell. All and all I will go there for some things but most likely never to the gun sales area ever again.

We love shopping at Cal Ranch! They graciously allowed me to exchange a pair of bogs and work gloves that would better fit my son, who received both as gifts for Christmas. I didnt have reciepts, but know they came from the Idaho Falls location. The store associates were great, friendly, and had the sizes we needed to exchange right at the front desk (I called ahead to inquire). They have had our business for many years, and will for the forseable future! :)

I actually really like this store but the name is pretty misleading. While its focus is farm orientated, there is a lot of good outdoor gear.Prices are awesome too!

This is a pretty great place! I come here for all my chickens needs. I even bought my chickens here as well! Prices are a little high, but all in all, it’s alright because I can get much of what I need here.

Nuts, bolts, chicken feed, beekeeping supplies. Theyve got it all.They used to have pretty good prices on Carhartt, but now I seldom find a good deal in there on Carhartts. I still go there for a lot of other things.

Went in for parts for a small engine and was informed they no longer sell those parts/or have a repair service any more.

Not competitive with prices. Tractor Supply has better prices on everything from fencing materal, to feed. Only reason to shop here is not to drive to Pocatello,but that is soon to change Tractor Supply dose have in the works to open a store in Idaho Falls. The only thing they have that Tractor Supply doesnt have is Sportsman equipment for those items I would recommend the Gun Shop and Sportsmans Warehouse. Plus those two have a 5% military discount. Which CAL Ranch does not have.

Just visited the new store for the first time. Half of it is home décor. Whats with that? The ranch part seems to have been diminished. I walk in the door and I swear I was in the mall, sad. It just does not have the feel or smell of an ag store. I miss the old place.

My favorite farm and ranch store, I love Cal Ranch. And Im super proud that this is a local chain and was started right here in Southeastern Idaho.

Always have to compare Cal Ranchs products and prices. They are very competitive. Like their work jacket selection and mens shirts.

The store moved to this new location so it was a bit harder to find, but im also not familiar with the area like the locals. the store did seem bigger. the clothing section seemed to be decent as well.

Yall need to ecpand your hunting and camping department. Its difficult to go into a store I like but then I see nothing but cheap rifle mags, cheap polyester holsters, cheap black hawk holsters, cheap camping supplys, and cheap knives and what not. Lol the Cal Ranch HQ is right behind my store and wanna go in and talk to whoever is in charge of ordering and department supplys and design. I like the store and there is alot of potential and I get it, its a ranch and farm oriented store first. But you could easily at lease make the camping and hunting departments half way modest. As well there are is one idnividual employee at my stores location with a manager who got incredibly verbal and hostile because we returned a dog training unti and eventually started using unnecessary language towards us.

This new Cal Ranchstore is fantastic. We stopped in for something we needed to grab and spent two hours finding other things we needed.

Most of the staff is really friendly and theyve been working here for like a hundred years, so most of them are pretty knowledgeable about the products. Some of their prices are lower than WalMart on some stuff, and a few items are a little pricey, but overall, the prices are OK. Good price or bad price, this is the ONLY PLACE IN TOWN for some items, so I am happy to see they dont gouge the customers, even though they could.

CAL used to be my go to store. Staff was awesome, helpful, and they had a great variety of items. The new bigger n better store is horrible. They cut a ton of items and now carry 300 of every item to fill up the shelves. The staff still tries to help but now you have to track them down. I just walked the entire middle of the store to find help. Finally I stood in the check out line so they could radio someone to automotive. He had no clue where anything was or if they even carried it. Nice guy just not trained. There is a reason they have no where near the amount of customers. CAL once had plenty of people working and now its less people in a bigger store. This is the 6th or 7th time I have been there and ended up next door at Walmart because they didnt carry it anymore or it was cheaper and Walmart had it in stock. I never minded paying a bit more to support the store. NOT ANYMORE!!!!!! Sadly I will be going to others like Rocknacks, Ace, or even the big box stores I dont care for.
