Kathy Meier was the Hearing Aid Specialist I dealt with at Hearing Unlimited in Ames Iowa. She has been involved with hearing aids for a long time. I initially purchased a Starkey hearing aids about 6 years ago. I needed to replace those hearing aids and take advantage of new and better technology. Kathy gave me a hearing test and we saw I was loosing some of my hearing at the high ranges. She presented my options for new aids and was able to offer me a trade in amount for my old hearing aids. I ended up choosing a rechargeable model. So far they are working just fine. Kathy is a professional hearing aid specialist that provides excellent customer service.

I love Hearing Unlimited, Ames. I have been with them for almost 10 years. Bob is the absolute BEST! (Other staff are fantastic as well!) I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to my hearing loss and changing hearing aids. Bob has transitioned new aids with me several times and has been wonderful through my tough transitions. He has done an excellent job of finding exactly what’s best for me. I can’t recommend HU enough.

My hearing aids were not only well fitted, but the regular monitoring and checking done by Hearing Unlimited is exceptional.Hearing Unlimited is one of those businesses Norman Rockwell pictured for Saturday Evening Post--trustworthy, competent, and always courteous. I have relied on their services for more than two decades and am completely satisfied.

Mike has done a very nice job of getting me used to my first aids. After a few adjustments they’re starting to feel natural and the tinnitus has been greatly reduced.

Our experience with Hearing Unlimited has been completely unacceptable and very frustrating! We bought what they described as a top-of-the-line set of hearing aid... very expensive. The aids have never fit properly... lost one the first day. Even more upsetting, they do not function properly either! The proprietor apparently cant fix them in-house, so they constantly want to send them in. Problem is they dont work or are in repair, more than they are in his ears, working. When we requested our money back, they ordered a new pair - but same problems are occurring. Many times they are not working immediately after having just picked them up. The service is poor and attitude of help is apathetic and insensitive. They announced to us that the patient needs to have a weekly appointment to keep them operating... he works and we live a long distance away. Their hours are quite limited, as they shut down over lunch and early in the day, no weekends. It is unacceptable to expect a client to take time off work and drive 40 miles once a week. We wish we had never set foot in this office. I would give no stars if this review allowed it.

I had recently had to transfer to the Ames office after our Ankeny office closed and had my first office visit there with Channing. She was very pleasant and efficient. It is harder to make my appointments since i have to find a ride from Ankeny to Ames. Miss our Ankeny office and staff.

I received my hearing aids in May of this year and have had a great friendly acceptance from the office staff there. When I did have questions or concerns they were glad to try to help me out and find a solution. My biggest challenge was to find a way get a stethoscope to work for me as Im still working part-time as a nurse at a child care center and need to be able to check the heart and lung sounds on my little clients who come to me sick and stay for the day in our Comfort Zone sick kids room. We tried several different things until we found a special stethoscope with a headset rather then the ear buds to use with my in the ear ICD hearing aids. The kids are happier and so am I when I need to do their health assessments upon their arrival to my special room!!

First class. I (Leo Runge) received my hearing aids a number of weeks ago and Bob has been very helpful and patient working very hard in dealing with my hearing loss. His support and listening skills have been the best Ive had. This is my 4th pair of hearing instruments throughout the years and this has been the best experience.

Mike and his staff have been serving my hearing needs for 30 years. The hearing aid appliances they sell are top-notch, and the ongoing professional service after the sale keeps me coming back.

My husband has a Siemens hearing aid provided by the VA that needs to be looked at to see if it can be repaired. They said they wont even look at hearing aids from the VA. Too bad they lost 2 customers out of this because I am in need of hearing help as well.
