Muscle cars does not properly represent what they will do to your car. Their billing is very vague and they wont break down hourly charges on your car. Some of the parts they put on your car dont look new even though you are billed for new parts. I wont be returning there to get fixed what they screwed up. I like my car too much to have it abused again. Look at rhe attached photos and see if the oil filter and steering pump look new. Your call. The fluid on the ground is just from one night sitting in the garage. Proceed with caution.

I am not necessarily writing a review of Muscle Cars of Texas, but more of my experience. You will then have to ask yourself if you want the same type of pain and expense. Let’s first look at some of the fees and expenses. $125 an hour for labor is fair if it is completed professionally and actually accomplished. $1800 for a radiator that I ended up suppling because JEGS sold the same one for $1200, $50 for 5 gallons of gas, $135 for 8 spark plugs, (no, they aren’t made of gold). Those are some pretty big mark ups.$105 for a power steering pump is fair and so is the price for the headers. The power steering pump looks old and isn’t new. The bubbling paint and rust on the inside of the tank hints at its age. You can look at the photos and judge for yourself. Vinnie said the paint was scratched during install and it’s a new pump. I do question if I actually needed the headers in retrospect. I never saw the old ones and I was told the ports on the original headers didn’t match with the engine so they had to be replaced. The 88 hours of labor was not what was quoted. The original quote was for 96 and that included adding Vintage Air to the car. There was no way I was about to pay that amount and I told him that. That’s why you see the declined on the final bill. I was told it would be 2 days for the radiator and few days for the odds and ends. It turned out to be 4 MONTHS. Yes, that right ONE THIRD OF A YEAR. This car already had a frame off restoration. I was just upgrading the radiator not rebuilding the car. I understand that the pandemic slowed down some parts, but I know when the parts showed up. The whole process was painfully drug out in my opinion. I was told there was only 1 guy working on 8 cars. I guess I was at the back of the list. They also changed the oil per the bill. Check out the photos and you can judge the condition of the filter and oil. Vinnie said the filter got dirty while in the shop and the he put additive in the oil. That’s why the oil looks old.I also pulled a spark plug since he replaced those per the bill. Use your own judgement. They are same brand etc. that the car was dropped off with.MY K&N air filter is missing. See the attached photo.Fresh oil leaks from the valve covers he repaired. The 4 months were hard on the paint. It came home with new scratches and gouges. If you like your paint, think long and hard on that one. He did offer to buff them out. I passed; it would probably take a month minimum. In a nut shell, let the photos speak for themselves and you make up your own mind if the parts are new and if it really takes 88 hours to install a radiator, power steering pump, headers and adjust the EFI. Ask yourself about the quality of the work. The engine leaks more now, then when it was dropped off.Lastly, he only takes cash or check. If you don’t pay, he gets to keep/impound your car per Texas law. If he took credit cards you could at least dispute the charge. The only recourse you have is to take it to the judge. Think long and hard before you take your car here. Everything I talk about is backed up with photos. The other 5-star reviews, not so much. Pictures are worth a 1000 words. Buyer beware. If you want to see what shape the car was before it got abused look it up on Bring a Trailer results. 1971 Corvette

Overpriced, the average person cannot afford them. My 69 El Camino cost me $3,500, running and driving. I needed floorboards, I ordered floorboards. Muscle cars of Texas wanted $4,800 to install them. That was after I completely removed all of the interior.

I have a 1966 Chevy Caprice coupe with a 427 big block. It was my wifes great-grandfathers car and has 45,000 original miles. I got the car a couple of years ago and took it to Vinny at Muscle Cars of Texas to see what it needed to get it run reliably. Vinny is great: very experienced and very honest. I got a detailed breakdown of the parts needed for my pseudo-restoration and an explanation of labor cost. Muscle Cars of Texas is a large, well-equipped shop: any time Ive stopped by there have been 15-20 cars in various stages of being worked on. Some of the cars are high end, rare and expensive. A good time to drop-in is a Saturday morning before lunch. Now that my 66 is in good shape mechanically Im saving to take it back to Muscle Cars for body and paint. If you stop by and check the place out youll get why Ive rated it excellent.

If youre done messing around with those shade tree experts and need your classic car repaired correctly this is the place. If you want a $200,000 Barrett Jackson special built to order this is the place. Everyone will tell they know what to do but the proof is on the ride home. The work is top notch performed by knowledgable professionals.

Vinnie and his team have worked on my 1969 Camaro Z/28 as well as my 1967 GTO at various times over the past 3 years. I have been very happy with the job performed and the fact that good ideas and alternatives have been presented. Vinnie has worked with me to bring my cars to 1st class standards by prioritizing needs so the work could be done in different phases, which has helped considerably from a cost standpoint. The staff is always very friendly and helpful when I come in and are very good with answering my questions. I am looking forward to a continued good relationship with Muscle cars of Texas

The owner is money hungry and doesnt tell the truth. He refused to give me what he agreed to, keeping $400 of my deposit. He always has an excuse, this time claiming he was charging me for storage of my frame. But he never mentioned charging before, and he had no problem with the frame being there since if I did pick it up he would have to settle with me and write me a check. Once he has your money he doesnt want to give it up.He also quoted my friend Kirk $3,000 to repair the vacuum on his 70 Vette. Instead my friend went to the Corvette Doctor and it costs less than $500. Stay away from this overpriced shop.
