Have you ever stumble across a business that was so awesome and afraid it’d go out of business? This is that place. After eating this authentic Sicilian food, I couldn’t imagine how to put into words how delicious these homemade dishes and gelato are. I recommend everyone to try anything including the amazing coffee once! And if you have a chance, have a conversation with the owner Leo, this place is truly a dining experience that would break your heart if they ever close.

Dinner here was an amazing and unexpected discovery! It was as though a restaurant from Italy had dropped into an unassuming strip mall. We were seated outside on a warm summer evening, though heat lamps are available for cooler times. We started with the light, crisp focaccia and a savory ribollita. We then had a variety of pasta dishes, including a light duck ragu and a rich carbonara. The pasta was fresh and had a great texture, again reminiscent of Italy. Finally, we finished with an assortment of gelato. Theres a small but friendly staff running the whole operation out of limited space, but the quality was wonderful!

I had high hopes for this place from what I read and saw, and I was not disappointed!! The gentleman recommended seasonal flavors — lemon and almond, and we also tried strawberry and coffee. Honestly, lemon and almond were above and beyond what we’ve expected. They were soooo goood!! And they were so good together!!! Super refreshing, no artificial flavors, just tasted like fresh, creamy delicately sweet lemon and freshly roasted almond. Strawberry and coffee were good also, but not as impressive as the seasonal ones. It’s so hard to find gelato places that actually make gelato themselves and especially with fresh, seasonal ingredients. I think we just found one and so excited and glad to have tried this place!

Love love love this place!!! If you are looking to grab a quick bite dont go! This is a dining experience and they do not rush you through your meal. It is meant to be enjoyed. I love going on a Friday or Saturday evening as they have a live guitar player. This is outdoor dining and true authentic Italian cuisine!!! You can taste the love and care that goes into every dish. The owner is super nice and makes you feel like family. They now have a pizza bar (oh my gosh ... so good) and they are known for their homemade gelato and sorbet (you can go just for that). Reservations are recommended to guarantee you can get in. All the food is amazing. Bon appetit and enjoy!

My son brought me here to celebrate Mother’s Day a week after and Bulgarini did not disappoint. We had the sampler and each dish was unique. The ingredients are authentic, the flavors are truly rich and natural, the texture is light and delicate. The red wine, “Lakrima”was a great pairing. And the gelato was to die for.The owner would come around to make conversation about the making of his food. I even teased him by saying that even Chef Ramsey would simply not understand the menu it is so delicious. Hey Michelin! This is definitely a pearl you must come and see. 🤩

Only came here for some takeaway gelato, but it was very enjoyable. If you are a person who values excellent food and understands the importance of it- give this place a try. Have you, like the owner, traveled to parts of Italy and experienced mediocre gelato? Yeah, been there. Go here and taste a scoop of dark chocolate, for example. Your mouth will embark upon a journey where it experiences different notes that you perhaps never had considered- strange, intense dried fruit, twisting around to dark smoke. Then try a scoop of the salted chocolate for an entirely different experience! First the salt itself, then a profile opening up of sweet, savory, beautiful and new chocolate notes. Or the rich goat milk with crunchy cacao bits. Very nice. You might need to wait. This will take some time. I am looking forward to my return, for some lovely pasta and actual unmanipulated, pure Italian wine. ♥️

We first went to Bulgarinis for gelato, which is fabulous and made from recipes of their parents in Italy. But then we discovered their lunch and dinner menus. Wow! They make their own pasta and sauces and the focaccia bread is just out of this world. There is ONLY outdoor seating but it is comfortable in heat or cold. The menu is pricey but worth every penny. We will go often. It is just the best restaurant for miles!

The gelatos, sorbets, and granitas are superlative--their flavors and textures simply sing. My favorite on my last visit was blood orange granita topped with apricot sorbet and pistachio gelato.Dinner is served weekend evenings--relaxed, stylish and intimate. We went with pizza romana and arugula salad to start and shared three pasta dishes: pappardelle with boar, spaghettini with duck ragu, and paccheri with swordfish. No one was actually injured in the scrum for last servings, but it was a near-run thing. Those amazing gelatos, sorbets and granitas were challenged at dessert by housemade cannoli. This is not a formal restaurant experience. Rather it resembles a casual dinner party thrown by a deeply informed chef. Relax, savor a glass of wine, and enjoy the live music.

I don’t usually write reviews. But the experience was unfortunately compelling and left a bad taste. I have been to Bulgarini three times prior. This time I purchased a box of cannolis and a two scoop and three scoop ice cream. I was charged $35.50, plus tip for a total of $41.00. The payment system is in Italian so I decided to check my bill thoroughly after I exited. My bill should be $30.50. I went back for a refund. My new bill, again in Italian, was again wrongly overcharged. On a third attempt, I added the bill for the server and was finally charged the correct amount. At this time, the server and I are cool. Accidents happen. But then the owner (the middle aged disheveled guy) gets involved and the ensuing problem that leads to my review:1) He asked me what the problem was. I told him I was overcharged. He questions the server. The server said it’s fixed. Owner comes back to me “It’s fixed, so what is your problem?” A bit confrontational, STRIKE 1. I agreed is fixed but explained that given my bill and the payment system is in Italian, this may add confusion for me. The owner tells me “I’m Italian”, STRIKE 2. I retort that I’m not (I am Asian) and Im paying the bill. I don’t speak Italian therefore I cannot scrutinize my bill. His response? “The bill was corrected so I don’t understand your problem.” Guess I struck out. My brother and I left without further engaging him.2) This next issue is speculation on my part. I already read two more Google reviews that also point out overcharging. My take? Hard to understand bill unless you speak Italian and multiple reviews regarding overcharged bills? I’ll let other reviewers chime in and decide.PS the gelato is good, the server is good, cannot speak for the owner’s service and the establishment’s ethics.

The low rating is not for the gelato. The gelato is fantastic. But I am not sure how three pints cost 96 dollars. We had scoops from this shop before and loved it. Given the pandemic, we decided to buy pints and do a curbside pickup. I presumed that a pint would cost no more than 20 dollars given the market rate, and was shocked to find out the bill was a whopping 96 dollars. It took a long time to get the pints because they are short staffed. The owner explained pistachio costs 48 dollars a pint alone.. well I guess we will go back to buying scoops or buy pints elsewhere.

This place is a gem, extremely delicious gelato offerings and pastas. I have not had their meal offerings yet but the last time I went, I could smell the short ribs cooking and it further reminded me I need to go for a meal! (rsvp in advance)As far as gelato flavors go, the hazelnut is an incredible premium offering but not always available (so if its there, GET IT). The pistachio, and any of the nut gelatos really, are so rich in flavor it doesnt seem possible! Owner is dripping with bad attitude and poor service. Was offended when we asked if he had Quattro Formaggi, stating that Quattro Formaggi is not Italian but an Argentinian invention. Some of the pastas were good (gnocchi pesto) others were just plane bad (pici - tomato/ garlic with no signs of garlic). Again, the easily offended owner had attitude when we asked for cheese, claiming that his sauces didn’t need cheese. Wine selection was very limited and the we tried was mediocre. Gelato was uninspired - icy and with bland flavor profile (vanilla and sanbazon). And for all that attitude and mediocre food, you pay premium prices.
