This is probably my new favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The patio is large and we waited half the amount of time they initially said to get a table. The food was really good. I got the Salvadoran tamales and was really please with my meal. The portion was large but I ate it all because it was so good. I cant wait to go back.

Nice and quiet restaurant with outdoor seating. I did take out and the gentleman who took my order brought the food to my car. Will return and food looks delish. Prices are reasonable.

The Sangria Margarita and Mango Mojito was delicious. The guacamole was delicious as well. I also had the chicken fajitas and filled myself up. Pro tip to the Puerto Ricans .. habichuelas mean something different for them. Service was amazing and they were all attentive.

This was my first time dining here. I was amazed by how great they treat customers. It was my fiances birthday on May 29, 2021 and I made a reservation through their website. Its easy and you can add notes. The manager greet us at the front door and a waiter took us to our table. We got chips and salsa (1st pic) as a starter. We ordered fresh guacamole (2nd pic), mariscada (3rd pic), and bictec con camarones (4th pic). The meals were delicious! The manager gave my fiance a second orange juice (for his birthday). The waiters put on a Mexican hat on my fiance and sang along for his birthday while having a tres leches cake loaf (which I ordered). Overall, we had a nice experience and theyre welcoming. Parking is at SunTrust Bank. Everyone wore masks. I recommend this restaurant.

Stopped by here for lunch while having some scheduled maintenance done on my vehicle. Excited to see a few Spanish beers on tap with a wide selection of liquor. Lunch deals are reasonable, beer is cold and the food quality is high. Staff is was pleasant and attentive. Atmosphere was pleasant. Great place to sit at the bar or have a family friendly meal. 4.5 because a 5 is super special. But we round up! Great work.

Los Tios is a Del Ray institution! Probably the BEST place in Del Ray for family dining, since it’s usually loud enough that your little ones won’t really bother anyone.  Huge outdoor dining space too. There is ample and very attentive staff, so your chip basket and drinks always stay full. Good selection of Salvadoran Tex-mex, we usually end up with the steak fajitas!

Wendy was our waitress. She was helpful, friendly, and accurate. Great environment, we ate outside. She made recommendation snd my food was delicious. I had crispy fried tortillas with steak, eggs, rice, fresh cheese. My friend had salmon topped with shrimp and he loved his food too.

- food was fresh and good, we got takeout and I liked how they packaged the food in a separation tray not all together like other places.- prices were good for the area.- service was professional and quick.- staff was extremely friendly.- place was clean from what I seen while waiting, no messy tables or anything.- salsa was a bit spicy but good flavor.- nice little place overall, Id recommend them.

The service was questionable in that we ordered drinks which DID NOT COME until AFTER the enters arrived..Very poor.Also, had to ask for lemons for the water 3 times.Food was good and well prepared.

I did a surprise birthday party for my husband there some years ago and the customers and staff are AMAZING!! They sent my husband free margaritas and made him cry. And this one one of the customers! The staff really made it special and we can wait to return now that we are vaccinated.

Have been coming here for about 16 years. Great salsa game for sure. I always get steak tacos al carbon. Be sure to pair it with the hot green sauce. My definite go to for good margaritas, excellent staff, and delicious food. 🙌🏻

Disclaimer I never review a place without visiting at least 3 times. Los Tios just gets it right for what it is. A hot plate Salvadoran/Mexican restaurant with some of the best chips and salsa you can get. The food is fantastic, I’ve never been disappointed. My only gripes are the guacamole is a meh, and the margaritas are nothing special. Of course, I get a maragarita every time I go and will continue to do so, but it’s clearly a mix. I also have a lot of respect for this restaurant as I can tell it employs and offers work to people who are likely new to the area. I think a fair amount of the staff are learning and developing their English. They are trying their best and I find their service to be charming and full of effort. 4 stars means I will happily continue to support. Fantastic restaurant.

Needed a night away from the kitchen and decided on eating at Los Tios. We got a great spot outside (ambiance gets the two stars) but unfortunately, that was the only good thing about our dining experience. We were extremely disappointed in both service and food quality. It started when my water came with a piece of onion in it (should have taken that as a hint of how the rest of the meal would go). I ordered a steak burrito and my wife (a vegetarian) ordered bean tacos. Ordering, she told our server she was a vegetarian and could not eat any meat. Her tacos came out next to a bed of yellow Mexican rice. Unsure about the rice, she asked the server if there was any meat in the rice and he advised her it had chicken broth in it...not sure what part of “I don’t eat any meat” he didn’t get. And my burrito was sub-par with poor quality meat (not looking for wagyu beef here, folks).Then at one point, the waiter walked over to our table and put a chair next to us, and walked away. Didn’t ask, didn’t say anything...no idea what the purpose was; however, I do think our decision to NOT order any alcoholic drinks (increasing bill) may have played a role in why our service went downhill...just my opinion.My wife later called and chatted with a manager to express her disappointment with her dinner. He apologized and told her next time to order white rice. She was happy to let him know that she wouldn’t be returning.We live in Alexandria, and love Del Ray’s local shops and food spots, but last nights visit to Los Tios definitely put a bad taste in our mouths and we will not be going back.

My family loves coming here whenever they get a chance. I was introduced by them and I absolutely love their carne asada. That gravy sauce is amazing that they put on the carne asada and they have really great other foods. The only thing is that I wish they had better parking but usually when we do come there is room somewhere on the side of the street. Unfortunately I live far away from this location but like I said whenever we do get a chance we definitely love to stop by.

Mahi mahi fajita was delicious. The grilled chicken on the salad was a bit dry but the dressing and the tostada made up for it somewhat. Nice friendly service will have back again.

I read the last year of reviews and this is my first time at Los Tios Grill. Some of the reviews are very positive and some were very critical. The Margaritas seem to be mentioned often, but I dont drink and cannot comment on the alcohol. The outdoor seating looked great as I approached the restaurant. I decided to sit inside and I ordered the Chorizo con Huevos brunch (photos attached). The order came within 10 minutes and it was a huge portion of eggs, onions, chorizo, potatoes, and rice. The dish came with some green sauce on the side. It was quite spicy. The rice was a bit bland, so the green sauce went that way. The potatoes were almost creamy and had good seasoning. The chorizo, eggs, onions, and sauce were exceptional. Unfortunately I could only eat half of it and the rest will become dinner. For $12 (plus tax), this was a good value. I did notice that many items on the regular menu were above $15 and that was a complaint from several other reviewers. Parking in the area is a problem, but that is not the restaurants fault. Overall highly recommended.

I ordered the chicken chimichanga. The guacamole that came with my dish was muy Bueno! Everything was good. I had the blackberry Margarita which was also delicious.

Horrible experience with everything starting with our waitress and finishing up with the food! Horrible enchilada sauce and finally got my order right on the second try. It seemed she was bothered that I sent my plate back initially and tried to tell me that I hadn’t told her about what I wanted and not wanted. People putting 4/5 stars and don’t really understand why? This is not “authentic” Mexican food. Anyways, guess everyone else is enjoying this spot and they probably do have good drinks but we definitely will not be back here anymore.

The spinach quesadilla and taquitos were pretty good. The service was excellent.

I just got the carne guisida and it brought tears of joy to my eyes. The brothy steak is legitimately the greatest thing I have ever tasted. Joe Biden should give everybody who works there the medal of freedom for bringing this dish into the world and allowing me to experience it. God bless!

I came here for Taco Tuesday. A place called Poblano Taqueria was/is closed on Tuesdays actually, but was highly recommend. Anyway, I ordered a taco plate that came with 3 crispy or soft tacos with choice of beef or chicken. The waiter Alex let me mix it up. It came with a large helping of rice and beans. Complimentary chips and salsa. A friend ordered a corn tamale and came with cream. It was almost dessert-like which was the goal after all. My mango margarita was not as stiff as Id like but after asking for a dash more booze, Alex threw it in at no charge. Wow. Great service and tasty food. Not the typical Mexican taco Tuesday Im used to.

The absolute best ceviche!! I swear it’s to die for! The red snapper is amazing & my husband had the mixed ceviche which was great too!! Their Margarita’s are exquisite! I 100%recommend! My waiter Omar was very attentive, patient, explained everything to a tee.. We will definitely come back soon!!

Food is here is always great, outside seating is cozy and quiet even though youre on a busy street. The staff is polite and helpful and when it began to rain they brought out umbrellas for us! Prices are higher but the quality of food is definitely worth it! Ive been twice and will continue to go back.

We’ve always enjoyed going to Los Tios over the past 5 years. (Love their beef enchiladas, fajitas, and fresh guacamole!) Now with the pandemic, we’ve been ordering from them regularly for take out and delivery. Tonight we had a mix up with our order and the manager and staff was exceptional in handling it and I was so impressed with their customer service to make the mix up right and their kindness. Thanks for being such a great establishment! :)

Best Mexican in the area! By far.

Service and food were both excellent.

Horrible, I waited 30 minutes for 3 hardshell tacos that were made and just sitting on the take out table. Once we got them open they were soggy as wet tissue. Couldnt take them back was on lunch break. Just didnt bother to call to complain. Not going back here. Sat at the bar and was never greeted or asked if I wanted anything. On top of it all it was Cinco de Mayo.

Great place to stop for a quick lunch. Service was great. Ive been told that its over-priced, but I dont think $28 is too much for a great lunch with excellent service.

I went in for the chips. The queso is yellow and velveeta tasting. The chicken fajitas lacked flavor and the vegetables were not fresh. I do not plan on going back. Perhaps if you go, go for happy hour pricing at the bar or get something other than what I did.

I love los rios, I have been coming here since middle school. My family and friends come here also. Great margaritas, fajitas, enchiladas. Its a staple in Del Ray, Alexandria. A must visit.

Great Mexican food and cocktails. Entree sizes are generous, and drinks are delicious yet potent. My go-to order is the chicken chimichanga and a large blackberry daiquiri. Ive arrived several times with a large group without a reservation, and the staff always accommodated us without a problem.

We love the authentic Tex Mex food and easy to use website for ordering. Food pick-up at the tent out front is well organized, with the food usually arriving before the promised time.

We were very excited to see that Los Tios had reopened and wanted to support them. Unfortunately, the portion sizes were outrageously small compared to what they used to serve and for what they charged. A $12 nacho platter was just six chips with toppings. A smallish burrito was also $12. During normal times, we would have gotten up and left after the paltry nachos were served. We will not be giving them our business going forward.Also, they claimed the tortillas were fresh but they were clearly store-bought.

Great food Great atmosphere

Went on very busy Sunday night, super fast cook in the kitchen but our waitress was on top of everything despite how crazy the restaurant was. She was impressive for sure, as we were an average table of four with drinks and appetizers. She memorized our order and everything came out super quick as well as refills. Great experience for such a busy evening. Food was excellent as well.

Great food, but expensive for Tex-Mex/Salvadorian. The price for the food is the only reason it is not getting five stars. This place is still worth going to because the service is fantastic at this place and servers are friendly. Their menu has a wide variety of options. I have been going to this place for years and the quality and consistency of the food always remained.
