Food at this location is good but the 3 stars is for service. It wasn’t too busy but our service was poor. I guess they didn’t have enough staff. Food came out very late and when it did come, appetizers and our main course came all at once. They didn’t want to or couldn’t space our appetizers with our main course. Server didn’t come to check on us or pick up empty plates. He served our beer in bottles and apologized that there weren’t any beer glasses.
Fantastic diner with a clean and open atmosphere and a sophisticated vibe! I savored the undeniably scrumptious apple stuffed caramel French toast and a batch of warm and golden chicken tenders with a side of creamy honey mustard! I loved the Silver Diner in Alexandria, Virginia! Affordable prices and some nice vegan options as well. Highly recommended!
Really enjoyed the food here, but it can be a little fancy and expensive for a Diner. The staff is very accommodating though. I have a nut allergy and they were able to make my order without. Their shakes are very good too! The Alexandria location is really nicely laid out. Even though they were packed, I did not feel crowded. This location is also pretty new so everything looks amazing.
We love this place. The menu has a wide variety and we have tried many things, never regretted a choice yet. My son loves the campfire milkshake more than life itself. We always get good service here, too, and the place is clean. Its a go-to!
Unfortunately the most disappointing meal we had in several days out of town. We were attracted by the diverse and colorful menu with interesting vegan options, late night hours and huge crowds. I ordered the crab cakes and my husband ordered the tuna melt. Both were simply not good. The crab cakes were deep fried balls with no taste and difficult to chew (just gross). They, along with my fries, had clearly been sitting for quite a while - the fries werent just lukewarm, they were actually cold. My husbands sandwhich was also relatively tasteless other than salt and wetness. We did not get a chance to give an option as the waitress never checked on us again after we received our food until we managed to flag her down after a few attempts when we wanted to just pay and get out. Should we have returned it all? Probably. But we just respectfully left and still tipped her because... Moral obligation. Either way, I would strongly recommend not going to this restaurant. Very disappointed because the concept is great.
Awesome meet up spot for my yarnie friends and I! Good lighting and comfy seats are a must and they deliver. And of course the food is scrumptious 😍
It was pretty good. I dont think it would be my top spot to frequent. Grits were like a brick. Should have went to a less expensive diner and had the same entree for a more reasonable price. Good luck. The place had a nice group of people. I recommend the water mimosa if you do go.
Update:I’ve downgraded my review from two stars to one star because I never heard back from customer service, which was initially eager to rectify my disappointing experience. While this location is 1/2-mile from my home, I’ll continue to visit proven Silver Diner success stories in Arlington and McLean.Original Review:My guest and I ate outside at Alexandria’s Silver Diner this evening. We had an early dinner, yet our hamburgers were served lukewarm (at best) and the french fries were cold. The waiter never stopped by to ask us about our meal or if we needed anything, fill our fountain drinks (for which we were charged $6.50 for two Diet Cokes), clear our plates etc. As we were waiting to flag-down the waiter to get the check, he finally brought my guest’s extra side order of vegetables, which we declined to accept given that we had already completed our meals. We could hardly discern his words as the waiter mumbled through his mask, but there was no apology for the mistake. Overall, very disappointing.
Service was average, while the server himself was congenial and helpful. The western omelette I ordered was unfortunately unremarkable, with the side order fruit cup not the highest quality. I like the open layout and ample outdoor seating. Having had more than a few good meals at various locations, Ill be returning.

The best old fashioned strawberry shakes, e-v-e-r! The menu includes plant-based entrees. They claim their ingredients are fresh and locally sourced and I believe them. You can taste the difference. If youve never tried lamb meatballs, this is the place to try them. Burgers are more your speed? My team says you wont be disappointed.
I thought we were going to a typical diner but was I wrong. Not your regular great spoon diner at all. The food was delicious. Options are a bit more modern and hip. If youre in the area try it out. Theyre open pretty late. The mango mimosa was not good though at all. You couldnt taste a hint of mango sweetness at all.
I loved loved the plant based meatless vegan tacos. They were so good. I loved the size of the dinner too. Much bigger. The waitress and waiter we had were very nice.
We came here for some late night eats, and my man Leo was the best server I have had in a long time. He was personable, friendly, funny! He took great care of us! If ever you come here, and I highly recommend that, MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR LEO!!! He will make the dining experience go from a 10/10 to a 15/10, hands down!
I am editing my original review and raising my rating from a 1-star to a 4-star. Silver Diner sent me a comp entree coupon and I used it to go back 2 more times. Both times have been good. There were no delays to the service.Terrible experience. I came with my friend and we ordered just the chicken wings (5 pieces) to share. We waited for over an hour and never got the dish, so we ended up leaving. When we left, we didnt even pass by a server to let them know. There wasnt even staff at the front door to welcome customers to a table.We were in the restaurant for almost 2 hours. For the 1st hour, we were just waiting for the server. After a while, I ended up telling the woman mopping the floor my order (the restaurants cleaner, I guess). Then, after another 10 minutes, the actual waiter showed up to take down the order. About 50 minutes of waiting for our chicken wings, we started calling any of the serving staff passing by to check on our order. My server finally arrived and said any minute now. We told him the order was taking too long and he said it would be another minute. 10-15 minutes later, we decided to leave. We waited about 10 minute/chicken wing that never arrived. Its pretty awful and a waste of an evening.
If I could give zero I would.Took the server, Alex, 20 minutes to ask what I wanted to drink. Then came back to the table with no drinks and told me the soup I wanted wasn’t available. That’s perfectly fine, but why is it that now I’ve been seated for over 20 minutes with nothing? Waste of time. I grew up in the restaurant business and this was just so unprofessional, that I actually got up and left the place. I have never done this in my life.
Upon being seated we waited 20 minutes to even be acknowledged. Our waiter was pretty horrible. However, a nice young gentleman named William delivered our food and our experience was much improved. William was a breath of fresh air and attentive to all of our needs. Thank you William for turning our less than desirable experience into a much better one.
Delicious food and great customer service! I ordered a bowl of turkey chili but they ran out of it. Our waitress didn’t tell us that it wasn’t available so I ended up finding out when our foods were coming out (for some reason a different waitress served our dishes). She apologized and asked if I wanted something different so I said I’ll take chicken noodle soup. She brought out a cup of soup so I told her that I ordered a bowl of soup. She apologized then brought the correct size (I wasn’t upset at all). Then I noticed I didnt have any crackers so I asked our waitress and she said the crackers are also out of stock. I asked if it was possible for more of cauliflower pita bread since there are no crackers and she substituted at no charge. When I checked the bill I noticed they didn’t charge me for the extra pita and soup. That was very nice of them! So overall I had a very great experience ;)
Went in for lunch with a friend for lunch and decided to sit at the bar. The bar tender was very nice and polite. I had been wanting to try the avocado toast with salmon for so long. It absolutely did not disappoint me!!!!!!! It was delicious!!!!!!! Looking forward to going back again!!!!!
Tried the Mofongo burger. Looked amazing on the menu. Had to try it. Good decision. It was really good. I chose bison meat. Toppings included fried plantain, black bean Oaxaca salsa, banana peppers, queso and honey mustard. Recommend
Pretty awful. Had fried chicken and waffles. Look and taste like frozen packaged meal. Ton of breading on the paper thin chicken and the waffle wasn’t even warm.
This restaurant is in my neighborhood and Ive enjoyed my delivery and in person experiences. More recently I dined in or least on the patio which is great. Your outside but away from the public which is very different and a much better experience than other places where you are right on the sidewalk and accessible to non-dining public.
Arrived at Silver Diner unsure what to order and we were so lucky to have Leo as our server. He provided the best service and was patient with me as I decided. Truly this is the place to be and ask for Leo whenever you come! He made us laugh and gave us a great experience.

Silver Dinner is our go to restaurant for our family. Food is impecable, range of choices are amazing .. steak or vegan breakfast or dinner .. it is awesome!! And then thee is the service.. Leo is the man!! Guy is super pleasant and professional.. great attitude and service!!

I LOVE this silver diner, been going here for years. Recently I had an issue with my food, I ordered a salmon and asked it be well done, when it came out it was medium still raw on the inside. I demanded to see the manager right away, The manager Zak came out right away he offered his apologies and offered to replace the salmon. Which I accepted, Great restaurant managed by a great manager. Recommend going here

This one is so much better that the one in Arlington, it cleaner there is more seating and the staff is very nice. The food was delicious for the very first time in ,I was like ok I found my new Breakfast spot. They have lunch brunch dinner and desert too. Oh the parking is underneath the Harris teeter, I was looking around, but it is.

The menu is overwhelmingly complicated with a bit too much info. Food was ok but not great, the waitress was ok but it was the overly correct *cage free this, sustainable harvesting that etc* made it just over the top and unnecessary truly. They do offer mixed drinks as well as a beer and wine menuMaybe what they offer is enjoyable to people in this area but we dont see a need to try it a second time.
I have come to this location a couple of times. The food and drinks are decent, however the second time I went there by myself, I had to wait 15 min for the server to even acknowledge me. When am finally done waiting about to go to the front & ask, a server came then said u need anything other than water without saying hi or anything. Of course I wasn’t sitting there to just drink water, the heck. I ordered an appetizer, entree & a drink which came at the same time. I wasn’t pressed about that, however what gets me really mad was, half way through my meal & drink, the server bring the bill. I feel like I was profiled and discriminated. have writing bad reviews but this needs to be said. It’s disgusting and unprofessional. Am taking my business else where thanks very much.

We were seated by a tall slim blonde server at 8:20pm and were seated. The server was reluctant to serve me and my two friends. We sat there for 30 minutes and all servers walking by without acknowledging us. We got super mad and felt discriminated against. I had to flag this other Spanish young man and he treated us nicely. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but this one needed to be on there
Food tastes good but I find that the dinner menu tries too hard - they have this cinnamon-chipotle spice (an odd combination in/of itself) that they put in seemingly every third dinner item, theres stuff with fruit in it that doesnt belong there (apricots and Brussels sprouts??)...possibly good combinations but instead of playing around with 1-2 items it seems to be a consistent theme throughout the 2021 menu. Quality is decent, certainly the best food you can get after say 10pm...not bad at all any other time either.

Not sure if they were understaffed or what but the service and food were disappointing. Sever seemed pretty apathetic that we were there, as if we were bothering her the whole time, and we watched her treat other tables the same so we know it wasn’t just us. And food was equally disappointing. Some of it cold by the time it got to us and some of it undercooked and didn’t taste homemade. Would go literally anywhere else for breakfast.
We had been traveling to Virginia and one of our friend recommended this diner. They had amazing food and the service was great. Loved it will definitely come back again.

I ordered a Pastrami Reuben Sandwich on 07/1/21 at 10:30pm. The food was great until I bit into a finger/toenail that had grime under it...will never order from here again. Will stick to the one in Springfield. I dont know whos in charge of the kitchen but that is beyond unacceptable.
This place is amazing! I experienced excellent service and my server was Ashis. If this is your first time going to Silver diner, I highly recommend getting the shrimp scampi and even better if you get Ashis as your server! Thank you Silver diner for a wonderful dine in experience.

Went there for my birthday for dinner. I ordered the smoked salmon avocado toast and loved loved it. I asked for extra micro greens very healthy and delicious. Very nice staff and beautiful restaurant. Five stars on safety too.

It was my first time to order from this branch of silver diner. Honestly i was really amazed at the efficiency of how they wrapped my food. It was excellent. Also the food was very well prepared. Nothing was soggy or overcooked. The portions were just right and the food was delicious. I like the easiness of ordering online. Their website for ordering is super thorough down to every details of the toppings and the sides. I was overall very impressed with the presentation and the process of ordering online. My only suggestion would be to invest in either stronger plastic bags or large paper bags. My order was a bit large and it was hard to walk out with 3 small plastic bags. Thats all. Ive been here quite a few times and the breakfast food is just about you expect from your typical diner, albeit at a mark-up to reflect the modern, flashy ambiance. My last visit however was nothing short of underwhelming, if not bordering on bad.Our server was somewhat pushy, telling us surely you must know what you want by now, despite it being the second time he stopped by (first time being the time he sat us). We literally had been reading the menu for only 2 minutes after sitting downThe fish tacos I ordered were pretty darn terrible. The tacos themselves were a mountain of lukewarm, dry, flavorless fried fish reminiscent of frozen fish filets youd get from the super market or even the filet-o--fish from McDonalds placed on a single dry corn tortilla with underseasoned black beans.I had to remove half of the fish from the taco itself just to be able to pick up it up without it completely falling apart in a sloppy mess of sad beans, boring sour cream and dry, uninspired fish. Bizarrely this dish was served with a side salad of spinach, carrots, pineapple and strawberries with a vinaigrette that tasted like lemon-scented detergent. The salads flavor was so pungent that it somehow managed to clash with a flavorless dish.Again, Ive been here several times and they do have some great items. Their bison huevos rancheros and shrimp and grits are pretty fantastic and Ill happily come back and get those. However, the fish tacos just left me feeling sad and with a feeling of emotional emptiness that I havent experienced with a dish in quite a while. To add insult to injury, we were still charged for the dish despite leaving most of it on the plate and voicing my displeasure with it to the server when he asked about it.I give it two stars based on this negative experience and for the coffee. The coffee was darn good.
Had a wonderful lunch this afternoon with four of my ladies from a senior living community in the area. LEVI our server was fantastic. He went above and beyond to accommodate us. Wish more servers were like him. Only drawback was no cocktail sauce for our shrimp and Silver Diner does not offer a military discount.
Levi is a great server! He remembers previous orders and conversations and makes us feel very welcomed. If you go on Sunday, request to sit with Levi!

Good food. Service has been inconsistent, but that is not unique to Silver Diner. I enjoy the locavore focus and consistency with respect to the food. Recommend. And the French toast with bananas, superb. 😁

Ive been to other Silver Diner locations and was ways pleased with my order, but the dishes at this location were flavorless (lamb meatballs, crab/corn soup, and shrimp scampi). Great service, but food needs more flavor.

Really nice place, spacious and large outside seating area. Inside decor is very nice and spacious. And i was able to eat outside with my dog. The staff was wonderful.
This place is obviously one of the best place to eat in the region. Always when I visit this place I am extremely happy. They hold their very high standard service and the highest level of food they serve. You always win with this place. Very recommended.

Ordered from the newest Silver Diner near me via Uber Eats. Decided on a Meatless Miso Burger with a Green Salad instead of fries.It was delivered quickly, the driver was very nice, and I was surprised how much salad they jammed into the tiny container. I decided to use one of my bowls and there was so much that it was more like a serving and a half of Green Salad. The burger came with toppings and more ketchup than I needed. Maybe they forgot I had replaced the fries? Overall very happy with the meal and maybe I will walk over and dine in next time? Wish there was more vegetarian choices but it could be the delivery menu is just limited.
A great place for good food and excellent service
Appears to be brand new, and the staff appear to be brand new to restauranting. Im sure itll get better, but so far the food quality and service arent up to usual SD standards.
Food was good as usual at Silver Diner, but they were kind of slow at this one. We had to wait an extremely long time for the check. They need to update their environment, to where I dont have to wait but go ahead and pay. Similar to Redrobin.
The woman who greeted us at the front door was full of energy and very kind (for the life of me I can’t remember her name just that it started with a J). Our server Raquel (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) was also very amazing. Food was amazing. Overall good experience
The atmosphere was very comfortable. They have a new air purifying device in which recommended for hospital; better air quality and help fight the COVID-19 situation. Overall the food was great. Keep up the good work.

This location really is in a class of its own. It goes against everything silver diner stands for and what we have been accustomed to when visiting a silver diner. The staff is aloof and inattentive. We didn’t get greeted until 8min after we sat ( no exaggeration) the manager was careless and didn’t want to help the server who was way behind on his tables and for some reason he was the only server taking tables. The food was not to silver diner standard, as a matter of fact it wasn’t to McDonald’s standards. Stay away from this location any other place would be better or just have cereal at home( seriously )
