Here is my sad story: My 4Runner had peeling white paint on the hood only, something to be taken care of by a massive recall campaign. My Koons Arlington Toyota dealer called me 2 months after I requested it be repainted to say that a loaner was available and to expect the repair to take 3-4 days. I left my car on August 24, 2021. As I write this it is October 2, 2021, or day 40 without my 4Runner. My job has fallen through the cracks. I worry about it. Are the windows rolled up? Has it been broken into yet. Is the battery dead and are the tires flat? I do still have the loaner and youd think getting it back would be important to Koons. . . .

Great costumer service! Mike was the representative that assisted me. He gave value the service. I brought the car, he prepared the estimated. I prepaid for the whole thing (worthy for the service they gave) When I dropped off the car, I arrived after 6, but some people were there (including Mike) and I was able to leave the car. Car was ready next day (half day service!). Because of my work, I was able to pick up the car after 6 pm but Mike was able to return the key to me. On top of the service, they clean my car! Thank you Mike.Btw, second time I bring mu car to this place.Recommendation: google does not have correct information about open hours. It says it is open until 5 pm from M-F.

Koons did an amazing job getting my Prius back on the road after being hit by a box truck. They were very informative and professional while communicating with me during the entire process. I did go through insurance and it was seamless. From start to finish I’m thoroughly pleased and impressed. Special Thanks to Mike and Jenn! Would definitely go back, but hopefully, I won’t need to any time soon!

I dont know where to start, my vehicle had been involved in a terrible accident and it looked bad. Nevertheless this was a brand new car, I was really torn. I was told that the car would be ready in about a week and a half maybe two. It was not till I received a call from Dave saying that my car would be ready sooner than when wed plan for it to be. Dave communicated with me to let me know the status of the car and I really appreciate that, he would leave a voicemail whenever I was not able to answer the phone. I arrived to pick up the car and it looked as good as it did when I drove it out the dealership. A huge thank you to Dave and his team for doing such an amazing job on my Toyota, they were quick and the finishing touches are flawless. It looked good and drove smoothly. I also thank you for the good communication and professionalism. I would highly recommend Koons Collision Repair Center.

UPDATE AT THE END OF THE INITIAL STORY.long story, youve been warned.I was involved in a small accident and since I use Geico, they sent me here. No problem, dropping off the car was super smooth process, they explained everything, took inventory, got the rental, gave me estimate and a time it should be done. I got an email later on that afternoon with tons of pics of all the damaged parts and more explanation of what was going to happen next. So far, perfect. Even had a few voicemails giving me details along the way. They finish up and I get the call that its ready. I go pick it up and before even getting out of the rental I see a piece of trim is completely missing from underneath the headlight. Weird, but ok. I go in an mention its missing (maybe it was just left off or in the car and needed to be snapped back on). Nope. Guy says since they car didnt come in with one, we didnt give you one (something along those lines). I was pretty confused, what if the wreck was worse and I only came in with 3 wheels? After he looked at it he remembered that this piece only comes with the headlight and since the headlight wasnt damaged, they decided not to replace it. Which was weird, because neither headlight was damaged, but I got a voicemail a few days prior saying they needed to replace the drivers side headlight for this same reason, the clip broke for the trim and cant order just that part, so whole lamp needed replacement. Its not the best design, but I didnt design it and if its broken, it needs replaced. He talks to the insurance guy and gets a new headlight approved. Im told I can take the car today and they will call when the light is in and would take an hour or so to swap out whenever. I get this in writing (as anyone should since work wasnt completed) and on my way. I get a call its in, but work was nuts, there was no way for me to get there in their business hours. I came a week later.Swapping the lamp was no issue, took an hour and good to go. Driving through my parking garage I now see my right lamp is pointing higher than the left. I know how to adjust them, so not an issue, but damn, the attention to detail this place pays is non-existent. I found my antenna in the drivers side door panel a week later (must have been removed when painting so the tarp doesnt break it?), all my stuff was moved to the backseat and just kind thrown there. The trim piece. The lamp alignment. The customer end was fine, whoever is running the shop and doing QC checks before the customer picks the vehicle up is sleeping on his job.The pic below is of the headlamps as of this morning, kinda hard to see the misalignment, will get a better picture later. Im in a parking garage and I actually think its sloped a little making them look more aligned with the bricks than they actually are.Customer service - 4/5Shop work - 3/5QC - 3/511.25.2018: Today I went to align the headlights, its a nice day out, decided to do some work. Well, the hood release cable isnt connected now, I cant open the hood. And it wont close properly now that I popped it open either...Called Geico to report all this. Geico already paid the bill, its a nice little partnership they have going on, Geico pays, shop is guaranteed work and they dont even have to finish or provide quality work, money still comes. The crazy thing is, there isnt anything the shop can do at this point. Im losing work time having to keep bringing it back for things that shouldnt have slipped by, I didnt pay for this, so they get their money from insurance even if the customer is unhappy, they cant discount the work. I wouldnt let this shop change my oil, so I dont want any free services either. Its a terrible situation all around. The next best thing is to leave a review and hope others check their car 100% (who would have thought they needed to check the hood release cable!!??) before leaving for to have Geico send them elsewhere.UPDATE: Jeff reached out and resolved the issues. 4 stars because these issues should have been caught beforehand.

On my last visit they performed a major repair that included replacing most of the front half of the car including the engine. The repair job was like new so I came back for this relatively minor swipe of two panels which caused the drivers side door to be unopenable. They actually lowered the price of the initial estimate significantly after openning up the panels and seeing that the damage could be repaired with less expense. This confirmed that their work has both quality and integrity.

I am no fan of mechanics. I usually feel ripped off. But I would recommend Koons to anybody. Great service, and they are not trying to nickel and dime others. Best example- I had a tv fall from my garage onto my car and scratch it up. I had to give the rental car back they provided due to using up all the allowable days even though i am still waiting on their 2nd check to clear the 10 day hold my bank placed on it. so now I am without a car for at least 2 weeks thanks to their mistake and they did nothing to help!!!!

Later I found out it was black smudge on my car from another body shop. He wiped the smudge right off. The paint did not come off at all. Koons was going to charge me to paint the entire bumper AND side door so the paint would blend. A big ripoff!!! The estimator was dishonest.

Avoid this body shop, they get too much insurance business to care for you or properly fix your vehicle. I took my car to be repaired after a collision not only they didn’t fix it properly they also took over a month to get a half day work done on my car. Repair manager Steven and estimated Carlos both unprofessional and rude not only ignore your call or make empty promises but quite frankly fraudulent as well. The part they charged my insurance over $6000 not only not fixed but also broke other parts in my car and refuse to accept responsibility. Not only they lost a customer and many more of my family we will not buy cars from their dealer parent company as well.

Its cost me thousands to re-fix what Koons, quite obviously, poorly repaired the first time. When they originally fixed it all was good, but as it turns out, 2 years down the line it was quite poor. I thought my 2016 Honda CRV-EX would be totaled by insurance. But they said it could be fixed. I was extremely skeptical. It did take a long time, they had my car for about 1.5 months. But to my surprise it looked brand new. You cant tell at all visually it was in an accident. Then I thought great now I will drive it and see how bad it was. Again to my surprise it drove as if it was brand new. No pulling, no noise, no squeaky, no nothing!! I took it up to 100 MPH, nothing. I could not believe it. There is no indication visually or mechanically or in the operation of the car that would tell you it was in a accident. It serious looks and drives like it was brand new. This place did an amazing job!!!! I have since added mobileeye so I hope my wife stays safe and can avoid future accidents. I hope my car never needs to go to a shop again. But if it does, I will send it here for sure.

Not even waiting until I get my vehicle back at this point. They’ve had my vehicle since the evening of the 6th. They called the insurance company once for an additional estimate which is fine. The piece that’s getting to me at this point is that the insurance company estimated ten days to repair. They’ve now had 18 working days (days that the shop reports that they have hours to complete this). It was supposed to be ready on the 24th which got pushed to the 28th which got pushed to the 30th (today) but the dealership hasn’t called yet. The mechanic is clearly getting annoyed that I keep calling for an update and told me that he’d call when it’s ready. I have to plan to pick this thing up. Dropping everything when they call isn’t in the plan.Shop clearly doesn’t know what they’re doing. They didn’t know that both blind spots would need to be replaced and have no idea how to plan. Very stupid choice on my end.

You always hear about how awful repair shops are and how they try to gouge their customers. Well, we were hit by another car (their fault) recently and Geico recommended this shop to us. We worked with David and Greg who were incredibly helpful and put up with me and my fiance nagging them about small details, asking silly questions, and not knowing the next steps for handling out first car accident experience. They got our car back to us within a month, and it looks brand new. Time will tell if the repairs are as sturdy as they look, but from a customer service standpoint, we couldnt be happier. They really made an awful experience a lot less stressful and I cannot thank them enough for that.

Let me first start off by saying I am a car person. I expect quality when it comes to auto repairs. I chose Koons collision because a Geico customer hit my car and this was a convenient option. I dropped off a 2014 Toyota Tacoma thinking, its just a Tacoma... not a Porsche or something high end... How bad could they really mess it up. I am sitting here today DEEPLY regretting my choice. I will say the experience was convenient. Drop off your vehicle, pick up a rental right there, etc.Heres where it gets bad: After a week of repairs from a 5mph crash I go to pick my truck up and there are scratches down to BARE metal from where they put a fender back on. Horrible paint blending where they painted to the edge of a panel, then waxed the panel leaving a white line down the edge of each panel repaired. Scratches, swirl marks, and most importantly clearly visible wet sanding marks etc. ALSO- there was a giant gouge on my INTERIOR door panel that was not there when I dropped the truck off. To their credit they were VERY nice about taking the car back a second time to fix the scratch to bare metal and the interior gouge. The blending issue was not fixed. Final impressions of the repair:Swirl marks EVERYWHERE like they washed my car with sand paper. New scratches that were not there before (at least 3). Lots of over spray on my chassis, brake lines, etc. Poor blending of paint, and overall just a total lack of attention to detail. Unfortunately I can not recommend a better body shop in the area, although I imagine if you picked one out of the phonebook at random you would do better than this.Again giving credit where credit is due, the manager at Koons collision was nice, and polite... but after going to see my car today I chose to not mention any more problems as I have an absolute lack of faith in their ability to repair even the most simple paint blemish.Check my Yelp review for pictures of this ABSURD repair job.

Rude and unprofessional. I needed to provide a damages quote from Koons as an exhibit in a court case and needed a simple statement from Koons indicating that they were indeed the authors of the quote that they produced for me, to prove to the court that I had not fabricated it. After weeks of attempting to contact Koons (they made several promises to get back in touch me and never did), they ultimately declined to do this and, with their unreasonable and unexplained declination, declined my business on the repair. Really a dumb move likely arising from their ignorance and paranoia about a routine rule of evidence. Kimberly, in particular, was an unusually surly person.

The quality of the work Koons did on my car after being rear-ended on the beltway gets 4/5 stars. Their level of communication with me and customer service throughout the repairs gets only 2/5 stars. They had my car for 5 weeks. The lengthy visit was partially determined by a back-ordered part (3 weeks), but the rest of it seemed like a real lack of urgency to get my car back to me within a reasonable time. Throughout those 5 weeks, I had to call them repeatedly to check on the status of repairs, since they passed by two estimated completion dates without a phone call to let me know what was up. It seemed like they came up with excuse after excuse for why the repairs were taking so long. First it was the back-ordered part, then their machine was broken, then at the very end they noticed a cracked tail light. You get the picture. Overall, I was very disappointed with their service, despite the quality of the work, and would think twice about going there again.

I cannot say enough about my experience with Koon’s! I hope that I do not need car repairs for a while, but, if I do, I will happily return as a repeat customer. I am a GEICO customer, and Koon’s was an approved facility listed with my insurance company.I had damage to the entire passenger side body of my much beloved VW R32, its front passenger side tire, and front bumper, which totaled nearly $6,000.I was devastated. However, the process was easy and efficient, and Lionel, the gentleman who dealt with my car repairs at Koon’s, was friendly and took the time to answer all of my questions along the way. The work (paint job, etc.) was impeccable, and my car was finished even earlier than the estimated completion date.Although it doesn’t bear directly on the quality of the shop’s work itself, I also prefer this location, because, conveniently, the GEICO rep. is located on-site, along with the Enterprise car rental place in the same building. Going to Koon’s, for me, was a win-win, and I am grateful to have found them!

I would give them negative stars if I could. Worst possible experience. Rude, petty, service staff who are quite happy to capitalize on the fact that Northern Virginia has a relatively high proportion of USAA members. As a result, they are not particularly keen on being helpful because they know that the sheer numbers means that they will always have business, as long as they remain a USAA approved body shop. If you are a USAA member, and expect to be treated with the base respect one extends to another human being, DO NOT take your car here, because that is apparently beyond what these guys are capable of.Needed relatively minor repairs to fix a job started, but not finished by an out of town repair shop. Koons said that they would be happy to take the vehicle today (a Wednesday) and would likely have the repairs completed by Saturday so that we could take the vehicle on our family vacation. The Koons rep was very helpful on the phone and said they could come in any time before 6:00 or drop it off after 6:00. My wife and I are both military officers, so it’s difficult to get away from work. I wanted to speak to the rep and show him the work that needed to be finished, so I told him that we would meet him at around 5:00.My wife and I both arrived by 5:10 from different locations in DC. I started the paperwork. And we waited. At 5:30, a receptionist came by and told us that someone would be by in 10 minutes. We asked if we could leave the car as the phone rep initially suggested, because we had to pick up our son from day care. She said no, the rep had to see the car. At this point I explained to the receptionist that I didn’t understand why we couldn’t leave the care because when I talked to the rep and he said we could drop it off either before or after 6:00. She repeated that we couldn’t leave it and suggested that we come back tomorrow. I told her that we both work and we already left work early today to get the car to them. She again said that we couldn’t leave the car and that our options were to wait 10 minutes or come back tomorrow. We couldn’t wait because we would miss the pick-up time for our son, so I told her that we were leaving and taking our business elsewhere. My wife and I went outside where my wife reiterated to me that she just wanted the car fixed. My wife waited with the car and I left and picked up my son. After I got back in the car approximately 30 minutes later my wife called to tell me that the rep at Koons, Scott, told her that they wouldn’t be able to get to the car until sometime in August and that “maybe your husband [me] was right, Koons isn’t the place to have your car worked on. We are USAA’s top repair facility in Northern Virginia, so we’re really busy.”I have no doubt that this rep, Scott, in refusing to take the car until “sometime in August” was punishing me for having the audacity to voice my displeasure with their lack of service. His unwillingness to take the car, despite another reps assurances that they could address these issues in time for us to leave on vacation, indicates to me that Koons is not particularly interested in customer service, and are instead happy to continue to feed off their existing status as a USAA-approved repair facility because of the high concentration of USAA members in Northern Virginia. His actions essentially translate to “hey man, we don’t care that you’re upset at us for not being able to get to you today. We’ll get to you, when we get to you, because there are 50,000 other USAA members in this neck of the woods who are lined up to give us their business, whether you do or not.”As a result of Koons misrepresenting their willingness to conduct these repairs, my wife and I not only lost an hour of work, but we lost a whole day of finding a place which could do the repair work in our rapidly closing window, making it more and more unlikely that the work will be done in time for us to take the vehicle on vacation.
