I’ve decided to give this place two stars as I’ve had some decent experiences with them in the past, especially with some of the baked goods and meal kits. However, I’ve most recently had a very ‘1 star’ experience which was also frankly a little weird.I was excited recently to see that they were selling fuyu persimmons as I’m a huge fan and haven’t seen them a lot of them available in New Mexico. I added a large number of them to my order, despite the price.Imagine my disappointment when they arrived so soft and over-ripe that I had to throw them away immediately. (Fuyus are meant to be eaten crisp to slightly soft, like an apple.) Honestly, though I would have left it at that without leaving this review (probably just not ordering from them again) if it wasn’t for what came next.The following week I received an email from the company wanting to explain about the fuyu persimmons they sold me, explaining that they are extremely astringent unless eaten very soft. They emailed that it’s another variety (the hachiya) that is eaten crisp.This is just simply not true.It is actually the other way around, as a simple google search will confirm. The fact that this email was sent makes me think that they must have received a lot of complaints about the state of the persimmons in the first place and that a) they don’t know what they are talking about or b) they are trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes and make excuses.I shot an email back (with a link about fuyus being the non-astringent variety) to point out the error and to confirm that the fruit really was too over-ripe to sell.The response I got back was just plain weird. It simply said that the person who had sold me the fruit was ‘enjoying the fantastic taste’ but that ok, they’d credit me. There was no acknowledgement of the fact that they had sent out plainly false information to their customers after selling them over-ripe fruit. I kind read it as insinuating that there is something wrong with me for criticizing ‘fantastic’ fruit and pointing out the really odd error in the email. (I also had to throw out the tangerines I bought for similar reasons but since I didn’t get weird emails with false info about those I won’t go into that further.)I won’t be using the credit of course as I won’t be buying from this company again. I just don’t feel like I can trust them to, at best case to know what they are doing with food handling etc and at worst case to not cover up bad food with excuses and/or false information.

I enjoy the local foods offered and the expanding selection, especially the prepared meals. I see a lot of complaints about the website from older reviews, but I can tell there have been some improvements made recently. It works great for us!

This is a big corporation posing as your local farmer. Customer service is non-existent and they are in the practice of putting small, local businesses out of business. Please think twice before you support this company. They represent the 1%, not the 99%.

By far the best way I have found to support local businesses and growers while getting healthy foods for my family. In addition to produce from NM and our region, they also have colorado cheese, new Mexico bread, etc. They have expanded over the last year to include premade meals which sure helps since my family of 5 doesnt eat out as much at restaurants. They have delicious desserts for order and even staples like dish soap and oatmeal. Prices are competitive and I am grateful for them. Their customer service has been awesome. Ive experienced maybe 1 issue every 4 to 6 months of weekly ordering (so better than most grocery options lol) and each time has been promptly resolved via 1 email or 1 phone call.

I’m really impressed by Skarsgard! You can order really close to delivery day, and everything has been very fresh and delicious. Love the option to support local with many items.

Excellent selection and I feel like I am helping local farming community. Wish they delivered to east mountains so I could order more often.

The website is very is difficult to use and precipitated some misunderstanding that they did correct by email. I am amending my previous review.

Ordered twice. 1st order was ok the cauliflower had black spots on it. 2nd order i emailed them still no response because i was missing my lemon and limes and the cucumbers turned bad in 2 days. I wont use them again. I order cucumbers from smiths and they were better. Hard to believe this is locally grown products.

I signed up and recieved my first order last week and I was impressed. Im normally a Whole Foods shopper but the pandemic finally succeeded in making me stay home and order virtually everything online. My first order was pretty big and included a little of everything -- fruits and vegetables, meats & sausages, dairy (milk, cheese and butter) as well as some pre-made foods like chicken pot pie and pastries/bread from New Mexico area bakeries. All of my produce looked good (no, its not all from New Mexico but they do what they can) and even the dairy arrived cold. Im not sure how they pulled that off as I live three hours from Albuquerque and my drop off site is pretty remote. In any case, I was impressed that the milk and cheese was still cold and the fruits were not bruised. The pre-made foods Ive eaten so far have been good -- nice treats considering restaurants are hard to come by these days. I also love their philosophy of supporting local farms and businesses, and that they themselves are growing and hiring with all this new business. Looking forward to being an ongoing customer. Oh, I also started reading Farmer Montes Journal to learn more about them. I find it fun and informative!

Im a new customer, so my experience is limited. However, I was very pleased with the options and quality of my purchases. Delivery is only $7.95.And, I did call and speak to someone prior to placing my order and she was very kind, patient and informative. They must be incredibly busy these days, and yet she was very generous with her time in answering all of my questions.

Got my first harvest box today! I was so excited - my fresh produce arrived as expected and packaged very well with proper insulation. I got my zucchinis, kale, cucumbers, Italian parsley, basil, mint, grapes of the week etc. I can’t wait to cook with all this fresh vegetables! Way to go Farmer Monte and Skarsgard farms!!!

The website it easy to navigate to place orders and if you’re having any trouble all you can do is call them up and they’ll be very happy to answer all your questions. Very sweet people I am so happy we have this service available to us here in Albuquerque!

They do not honor the satisfaction guarantee . I emailed immediately after receiving my order. It was not accurate. Skarsgards response. Sorry about that. Then... crickets.

Tried it and was not pleased with their service and when I let them know, they just canceled me without offering any type of compensation for the bad produce I received. My scheduled delivery date is on Wednesday and I made special arrangements to be home that day to receive my order, however, it never showed and by them end of the day I called and they did not answer, and their voicemail box was full. I emailed them and received no response. The next day I was finally able to leave a voicemail but I still received no response. I was out all day on Thursday for work and arrived home Friday morning to find a box of produce sitting on my front door. It had sat in the heat for who knows how long on Thursday. I emailed again and I finally received an email back on Saturday saying they never received my original voicemail or email (how convenient for them). What bothers me the most is that they never even thought to inform customers that the delivery would be late and when I told them I was not happy she canceled my subscription and offered no compensation for the box that sat all day on my front door. Will never use this service again. Such horrible customer service!

Even though they are overpriced, I was super excited to try the delivery service but the produce was disappointing at best. The harvest boxes are based on weight so they put 2 huge rutabagas in them to weigh down the box. Who needs monster rutabagas? Its shady. The delivery was sub bar as well. The guy puts the box with meat and dairy in the hot sun instead of walking down a few steps to put it on the porch. How lazy and inconsiderate. At this pricing, its better to stick with Whole Foods.

They never answer the phone. When I pick up my order its never ready. The quality of the produce is poor. My medium box certainly didnt seem to have much to it for as much as it costs.

Tried two orders. First let me say the majority of the fruit and vegetables are not local. My first box had many spoiled and moldy vegetables. There were produce stickers showing the items came from Mexico and other states. Same items you can buy at any grocery store for half the price. I was given a credit for the spoiled items to go towards my next order.Sadly I spent $100 and almost the entire order ended up in the garbage as nothing lasted 48 hours before becoming rotten. Next order I played it safe and ordered 2 individual apple pies and 1 large peach pie. Only got 1 apple pie and it is from a bakery in Santa Fe. The peach pie was horrible, looks like its made using peach preserves. Cancelled my account and will look for a real local farm to buy from.

Poor customer service. Refused to deliver to us despite the fact that we are well within their normal delivery zone. Charged our card and delayed our delivery before we had to call them and he informed they wouldn’t be delivering to us. Unacceptable way of doing business.

Sorry I had high hopes but most of the food was rotten. Got regular box and tomatoes and cherries were rotten. Got what they call a scratch and dent box, expected some bruised maybe deformed produce, but it was straight rotten. Cant recommend.

After two requests for a refund for items not received in my order, I was told the issue was resolved when it wasnt. This business is not reliable.

My boyfriend and I are very happy with the box and order that we got! Everything was packaged very well and the Grapefruit plus veggies are all so fresh and delicious. I am really glad that we looked into Skarsgard Farms and will continue to order from them. Thank you. :)

Ive been using Skarsgard Farms for years. Im not sure why there have been a few bad ratings, but Ill add my comments. First, the people are just plain nice. Ive always been treated like my business mattered. Problems are resolved or somone gets back to me with an apology and an offer. Second, they are local and support good environmental practices. Thirdly---and this is simply my opinion--people seem to get excessively angry over minor points. Skarsgard is run by human beings. This is not a big corp operation; No instant gratification on issues. The website could use a little tweaking for efficiency, but it is definitely not a deal breaker. The produce and food are wonderful AND finally, Delivery. To. Your. Door. How awesome is THAT?

The food is lovely. Unfortunately, the business practices are based on automatic replies from a computer that usually have nothing whatsoever to do with the customers inquiry.I have received email upon email one saying one thing and the next wanting my review of the services. My bank statement shows I am a customer in good standing and then I get another note to the contrary.I have terminated my account and still get messages.Ill have to go back to Sprouts.

Understand the business model and ordering system before you put food in your cart. Lovely farm-to-door food. Incidental mistakes have been taken care of though its taken a few weeks to get refunds.

Hard to find but great produce.

Well we are hooked, so far we have received 2 deliveries, great friendly people. The items are top of the line and are delicious, the corn is so sweet my wife thought that I put sugar in the water, and the cherries are wonderful. Thank you for this gift of Local, Organic and delivered harvests.

If you are hoping for locally farmed and collaborated produce and meats, then Skarsgard Farm is not for you! They are essentially a middle man, buying national and international produce and selling it to you (at a premium), under the rise of The farm in your neighborhood. Their tag line could not be farther from the truth. If you want local produce and want to support local farmers, find a neighborhood farmers market. There are quite a few to choose from in Albuquerque, and my favorite is the Los Ranchos Farmers Market and the Corrales Farmers Market.

OMG! I IMPLORE ANYONE THINKING OF USING THESE JOKERS TO BEWARE. RUDE IS NOT THE HALF OF IT. SO UNLESS YOU GO OVER THERE WEBSITE WITH A FINE TOOTH COMB AND UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE BUYING A $7 COOLER FOR $20 - IF YOU ARE NOT IN NM. THE EMPLOYEES AND MANAGER (EMILY) ARE BEYOND RUDE. TALKING OVER ME AND WHEN I RAISED MY VOICE TO STOP THEM FROM REPEATING THE SAME STUPID THING - I WAS TOLD THAT IT IS ALL ABOUT THEM. NEVER AGAIN!

The company is easy to work with, when there is a error they credit you, have enjoyed the produce, have had to learn to eat it a little quicker as it does not last as long as store bought products but the flavor is wonderful.

Rude and unhelpful at front desk-if you live out of town, there dont even want to take the time to tell you what the pick up options are. They will simply assume you want delivery and say they wont. Any attempt to speak with management if staff is rude will be fruitless, as the operations manager, Emma Dewey,is extremely rude and will not bother listening/reading the full complaint.

Worst customer service you could ever imagine. If you put something in your cart to look at - price, discounts, etc. - and close the browser without clearing out the cart, they will deliver the product to you and charge you for it. Even if you never intended to get it. Can you imagine how much money you would be charged if every online service did this? AND they wont reverse the charge even if you had no idea that you had food sitting outside for a week because you DIDNT ORDER IT!!!!!

Reliable, great produce, easy to customize, convenient, and a great price!!! Highly recommend!
