On the bright light light side, the staff are filled with vibrant energy and the selection inside to buy is large, though overpriced. For consignment, you would do much better selling, if you can, directly to buyers through other platforms. Here at B.E., you will receive pennies on the dollar and 97% of your lovely items, sadly, turned down. The buying decision seems a bit arbitrary for this eclectic store. Parking is metered in the front and on the side. I was so lucky to have a just opened space in the back parking lot, although staff refuses to let you enter or exit the back door or meet you there, with your offered heaps. I dont recommend trying to maneuver this alone if you are challenged.

I love that it opens to either side of the street, that alone gives it such a fun feel. Wish I knew what it used to be before it became a Buffalo Exchange. Solid selection in the large space, its hard to not find SOMETHING. I do think its silly to have catalogues for a store that cant guarantee what it has in stock, however this is a minor quibble. One of Buffalos more solid exchanges!

Okay lets see here what can I say about Buffalo exchange. I think its great yeah I am a big fan of the place big fan and thats saying something, because when it comes to clothes and my OCD of absolutely having to have the right type of clothes the right choice of clothes when I go someplace to shop because how I look and present myself as one of the most important things to me because first impression is the one thing you never get a second chance at Buffalo exchange never lets me down. Go there the choices are awesome the ladies at work there are super super awesome.

This place consistently puts me in a bad mood, and I no longer will shop there. While I have found some cool things there - the better items are not inexpensive. However, it’s really the attitude of the staff that galls me every time. They are truly snooty and this is used clothing! Worst of all is attempting to be a consignor here! While you’ll pay top dollar to buy things here, they GIVE YOU NEXT TO NOTHING for your nice items plus they make you feel badly about not taking mostly anything. I’m a very experienced consignor. Don’t consign here. You will get ripped off. I’m giving them 2 stars because you can find some cool things here, but I would not bother. I have talked to other folks who feel the exact same way about them - trust me.

I have been selling and buying clothing here for years. Normally I would recommend this place over other mothers and Plateos and Facebook market place.... but that no long rings true. On the day of my trade... I was rushed and treated very poorly. The clerk was rude and unfriendly. And very aggressive. This will be my last trade and last shopping visit. (I did get the value I was looking for on my trade) and since when do you guys rip off /remove the original price tags??? I wont get into the details but Im very disappointed in the new staff. I much prefer the original staff that were kind, curtious and friendly. I hope you as a store have better training in the future or at least a better screening on the hiring process. H

Used clothing store at new clothing prices. Went today to check it out. Looked at pants and they ranged $27.50 to $36 for used denim. Obviously some wear is shown. Looked at tops and sweaters that mostly ranged from $15 to $32 for used. Not really worth it as there isnt much of a selection in a decent price range for used clothing. You can find a few good finds at a decent price, I repeat decent, not a used price. Although I only looked at the mens clothing so I cant speak for the womens section. Wasnt talked to once, not greeted or anything which is surprising because every business Ive ever gone to I at least get a hello. The fitting room attendant let us know they dont even pre wash the clothing before putting it on the floor. I really hope the people who sell the clothing are washing them or thats completely unsanitary of this business. Youre better off going to any other business.

I have a love hate relationship with this store. I really enjoy their clothing options, but Im very offended by their sizing. Everything XL or bigger gets an XL tag. This is highly annoying. Ill grab a cute dress that will say its an XL only to find out its a 3XL in the changing room. Its not hard to put the correct size of cloths and create more sections for the extended sizes. I feel like they only cater to S and M sized cloths. They just lump all of the extended sizes together with the XL and just dont seem to care that it makes it harder to look through them.

Like Ive brought in shirts that have minor pilling or a loose thread and they say its not a condition theyll except. Although Ive seen shirts on the rack that have major armpit stains or jeans with (definitely unintentional) paint smears/splatter. Plus the employees (not all) lack customer service and alway seem in a rush! I went recently to try and sell some items, there was many people in front of me with really nice things (in season, great condition) and the girls going threw it hardly glanced at the items and were in a hurry. I would like to start out by saying I have been a Buffalo Exchange customer for 15 years. I have always loved the whole dymanic of the business and how they always strive to have an eclectic, yet current selection of clothing and accessories at affordable prices. I also love and appreciate the unique staff, all with different styles and personalities. I am usually always greeted with sweet, enthusiastic buyers who make me feel welcomed and appreciated as a customer. But today, and the past few times I have been in to sell, the assistant manager, Iris, was very rude to me. She scoffed at my artwork while calling it poorly made and unwearable and advised the buyer to stop buying the items and then abruptly walked away. It was incredibly unprofessional, and as a long time seller and customer, it really offended me.I am aware that Buffalo Exchange has constant revolving inventory and cannot always buy handmade items and that some styles do not sell well for them or are too fragile to be handled on the sales floor, or for whatever other reasons. That is all fine and 100% understandable, but this can all be said in a tactful, professional manner. My issue is not that they didnt buy my items, but rather how Iris told me they werent going to. The key to good customer service is to be kind and understanding, not snobby. The girl who was my buyer was so sweet and tactful when passing on items, so its unfortunate that Iris decided to stop by and make rude comments then walk away. Honestly, she could learn a lesson of customer service from her staff.I have always been treated so kindly by Buffalo Exchange and always felt appreciated as a local artist and am so disappointed to say that I dread going into the store when she is there just because of her offputting energy. I will stick to buying and selling my clothing and jewelry, handmade or not, on the internet for now.

I love Buffalo Exchange. Love love it - just not this one. There is definitely a theme going on at the Albuquerque BE. As a sought-after buyer for several curated trend boutiques and vintage shops across the country, I have a very solid idea of style, hot items, vintage trends, and the basic timeless staples that always sell. I was aware of the fact that Albuquerque plays a little slower than some of the other cities across the country, but it was still jaw dropping to see the buyers rummage through some VERY nice stuff with zero interest or regard. They managed to go through my 300 pieces in about 5 minutes, overlooking/passing on: several vintage rompers, a MK purse, a Brahmin purse, a vintage Chloe belt, some handmade native silver jewelry, a new pair of black suede Matisse cowgirl boots, several other cognac leather ankle cowgirl boots, two concho belts, 6 pairs of vintage label Levis, 4 pairs of true deadstock 70s Wranglers, a button up overall dress, a Free People black lace kimono... should I go on? This was a curated collection of desirable pieces that I didnt want the hassle of taking with me on a cross-country relocation. Ill be giving Platos Closet the opportunity to make some $ and will just list the rest. OHHHHH, but they did take an old Walmart brand polkadot blouse (and will be selling it for more than the original NEW price), and a simple woven basket bag. Wow. Way to get out of your comfort zone. This Buffalo Exchange is a clique - look at who is working and it isnt difficult to determine what they will buy. T shirts. Crocs. Off brand Converse lookalikes. Bullhead skinny jeans. Anything baggy. The seller is told that we only buy what is popular and on trend, very exclusive looks - maybe take into consideration that these buyers dont provide variety to the styles that they pull for the store and, in doing so, dont even give their customers the opportunity to purchase different things. I did count 6 different people wearing Nirvana tee shirts. Miss you Kurt.And... the other day I was noticing that Walmart stepped up their game with their new jewelry line - super cute, who knew? Which is why I recognized a lot of the same styles for sale at ABQ BE. The EXACT same styles. For 3 times the price. Go compare, I am dead serious. Walmart $4 or BE $12. You decide. So unimpressed and hands down the worst of this chain I have ever visited. Finally, one has to question why they are so eager to have you donate the stuff they didnt take. Meaning put it in a bin behind their buying counter.
