Niko our artist was friendly, professional, and overall wonderful to work with. At the end of my tattoo session with my wife, she wanted to get her nose pierced as well, they had no problem accommodating or needs. Its a clean, layed back, positive place and all whom helped us were really awesome.

My favorite and only shop in town I go to for my piercing needs. The staff and owner are all very professional, knowledgeable and handle everything with care. 10/10 would recommend!

I got 2 piercings today & I love them! The shop was very clean and they had all Covid precautions in place. My piercer was Sarah and she was very nice & explained everything she was doing and why. I cant wait to book my next appt!!

My piercings were done by Sarah and all was great! She was clean, professional, friendly and funny!! She was very clear about everything she was doing and made me feel comfortable. Next day and I actually have no swelling or pain because she was that great!! Very pleased and will go here again! My only recommendation would be that website jewelery pricing included more detailed information or an $$ up to $$ type of format as I understand there are many options. 5 star place including 5 star jewelry only piercing quality material which is the only way to go!! High 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I don’t understand the negative reviews I’ve seen about ascension, as they are all very easily solved by telling the piercer/whoever is helping you what you want. (All issues with higher quality jewelry costing more money and being “forced into a decision” even though you were told the price so you can make a choice before you get it put into your body etc).I have had a very good experience with this business. I have gotten 8 piercings with them so far and the only one I ever had an issue with was my own fault (they didn’t say “this is your fault,” they acknowledged that I moved but took responsibility even though it wasn’t their mistake). I had moved my tongue when I got it pierced and it was a bit crooked and they offered to redo it for free even though I was the one who messed up the process! I will be paying them for their service at that time because it was not their mistake to compensate for.Every piercing I have gotten has been healing very nicely, is perfectly placed and they make sure it is, very professionally and cleanly done and with a good experience in the shop with the friendly and attentive staff. They give you a lot of advice about the piercings you get and even warn you about possible issues before you get them so you can reconsider that placement - they always have your best interest in mind!Sorry this review was a bit long but I will always choose ascension :)

I always think I’m not cool enough to walk into these places, so it’s really nice when the folks working inside make you feel welcomed. I got a septum piercing today! Vern was my piercer, and he was super chill and relaxed, which in turn made me feel calm and chill too. I appreciated the professionalism, the attention to details, safety, and cleanliness— but I also appreciate it when a body modification shop doesn’t take themselves too seriously, and make it all about themselves, their fame, or whatever.The staff at Ascension focus on you, your satisfaction and experience, joy, and the goals you’re trying to achieve, not just on your first visit, but for the long term journey of your piercing. Good vibes are very important to me, when I’m getting any kind of procedure involving needles. 🖤✨🖤✨🖤I was trying to go for the fanciest, prettiest, more elaborate and expensive jewelry for my initial septum piercing. But Vern talked me down into reality, and helped me pick a piece that would work best, not just for the size of my face and anatomy, but for hygiene and the after-care phase of the piercing. Another, less scrupulous shop would have let me go with a more expensive ring, just to make a quick profit. So I really respect the time Vern took to advise me, and educate me too. I still had to go with Gold though ✨✨✨... and I’ll definitely be upgrading to a fancier peace later, but only after this hole heals!

Honestly, this is a good place. You walk in to see a nice clean, tidy lobby. There is some wicked cool stuff in the display cases. Beautiful, quality jewelry. The staff are kind, cheerful, respectful and happy to answer questions. And they communicate through the entire piercing process to ensure the client walks out happy. I even got a sugar tablet today as I was a tad woozy.

I’m not sure why a $10 jewelry change ended up being $65. I’m also not sure how you don’t have a certain jewelry in stock and that threaded jewelry is something you don’t carry. The overall experience seemed like a money grab. I won’t be going here again.

Sarah did my piercings, she was gentle and went over the anatomy of my ear before we did anything permanent. I personally never experienced this but it made my visit that much more amazing.The staff was great! I’ll definitely be seeing them again for future wants and needs.

I received my very first tattoo (@ 50!) from Jordan, who is a fairly young delightful female, whos very talented as a designer & applier. Sarah, who is the piercer while I was there, as well as a very knowledgeable and helpful counter clerk, & a kicked back, off duty tattoo artist,(hes inked on the right side of his face, whos names Ive forgotten. B4 & after my tattoo, I spent almost 2hrs looking @ jewelry and I couldnt find what I wanted to the very end, but they all were patient and professional. the only thing that I can criticize is the prices for the jewelry. its high end stuff, but lots of times we are on a budget lol thanks for your help!

I have regularly had work done at Ascension for years. The owner has done multiple piercings on me and also some excellent scarification work. The place is super clean and all of the jewelry is good quality. All internally threaded so it doesnt cut up your piercing. Prices can be higher than some other shops by a little... but the cleanliness and quality of jewelry are more than enough to cover that. Hands down best place i have ever been for body mod work. Just know that when you want quality, it comes at a price and with this place, you should jump at that.

Do not go here because they last minute change their price to a much higher price,45$ to 70$ ??? that’s not professional,it’s incredibly inconsiderate to do that to someone that already has the piercing and not giving them the chance the decide if they wanna pay that high of price. pretty much forcing on the up charge at that point. look for better priced shops that are actually professional and have good customer service because this is not the place

Steve did a piercing for me and it was the best experience I’ve ever had, it healed wonderfully. I live in salt lake and he has done some guest spots at a local shop so I’m so stoked I can wait and have him do some stuff for me when he guest spots again. He is worth waiting for and his work is phenomenal.

Solas has been attentive and worked with us to get the tattoo we wanted. Husband and I scheduled tattoos and we are excited for the process and the pain therapy. Solas is a very skilled artist. He worked on our designs and came up with designs we can love for a lifetime... Making sure the process goes smoothly, and cleanly both in the designs and in the application.Photos below is in progress and just outlining.

Owner refuses to apologize to client for price gauging. client was charged 35 to 70 for a titanium septum piercing. the owner lied about what was sold several times and was proven so and refused to apologize ,they instead tell the client to spit on orphans all because they called out the owner for being unprofessional and disgusting. the owner is making false positive reviews, the owner lied to the client saying the price is justified because clickers with jewelry are 70 but the septum wasn’t a clicker at all. go to a place where you will actually feel welcomed by a representable owner

I was referred to Ascension by a good friend. Out of the blue I decided I wanted to see what jewelry was available for a nose piercing. Mind you my intent was to just look, not go through with a piercing. My first vibe stepping in the shop was a calm, friendly and clean environment. I was immediately greeted. Vernon explained the process and provided great information to help me decide what kind of jewelry and conveniences me to go ahead and get the piercing. Vernon was very professional and made me feel relaxed during the piercing. I got my nose stud and it looks freaking awesome. I would definitely recommend Vernon and the Ascension Tattoo studio for piercings.

Steve pierced my forward helix for me. I had an excellent experience. He was very gentle, precise, efficient and I was able to pick out a very pretty, high quality piece of jewelry. He talked me through everything he was doing when my anxiety started to act up. I had no problems with the healing. The placement was perfect. Highly recommend!

I really liked this place in the sense that they’re very clean and professional which is super important however the customer service hasn’t been my favorite about this place. I was wanting to buy some septum jewelry and I didn’t realize that some of the clickers I wanted there were around $140 (a little out of my budget) and that’s totally okay, obviously the quality of the jewelry was very high. I asked the girl if she knew of any other places that I could buy septum jewelry that was less expensive and she said she wouldn’t recommend me anything. I just was bothered that she didn’t wanna tell me about any other jewelry unless I was buying from them. I am 17 and make $9 and don’t really have $140 to spend on jewelry and maybe this review is out of line but nonetheless wanted to share my experience. Still very bummed that I have no clue where I can buy less expensive jewelry as I was excited to expand my collection.

Steve is aways a pleasure to work with, very calming during his piercing processes. Super professional, 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone. He’s always traveling making it convenient for others around the country to have the opportunity to be pierced by him.

Just left from getting a mod. Steve is just amazing. His shop is my favorite, from the excellent staff, to the art, and jars of small critters in the cases. Very professional. I will definitely be coming back, and recommending them to all of my friends. This was definitely worth the long trip to the ABQ.

Bought some $60 gauges here a month ago. Yesterday, one randomly broke with just the force of a comb hitting it in my ear. The force didnt even hurt my ear, but the gauge split in half. And they claim they charge a higher price because they use quality materials. I tried to go in and talk to someone about this but the two people at the front desk were nothing but rude. No problem I headed up to Evolution just up Central. Im not sure why I went anywhere else to begin with.

Loved it, even though I had to reschedule to 8:30PM. I didnt mind because it was my fault for coming in late the first time. The girl at the front desk had me down as Tal lol but its okay. Super nice people, had my tongue pierce reopened by Vern. I would definitely recommend this place for those who want any piercings done. Ill be going back and Im bringing my older sister along to get her tongue pierced for the first time.

I was born with a birth defect of my left ear, Microtia Atresia, for 31 years Ive always haff people stare and decided to give them something to stare at. I was always thinking a giant stud, but wasnt entirely certain. After talking with Sarah, her level of excitement and detail with my unique anatomy was both exhilarating and personable. I have always heard great things about all of the staff at Ascension, but this was truly above and beyond. Its nice to know a place of acceptance encouragement. I know all my future modifications will be done at Ascension because they do actually stand above the rest.

This is the cleanest shop I’ve ever visited! Vern did a Medusa piercing for me. He’s super precise and did amazing at keeping me comfortable. He also provided everything I need for aftercare for my piercing, and made sure to walk me through each step. I’d definitely recommend getting pierced by him.

I lost my tragus jewelry who knows how long ago. As soon as I walked in, I knew I made a good choice. They were all professional and willing to help. I would consider them COVID prepared, they all had masked and asked me to wash my hands before even looking at the jewelry. They squeezed me in before the next appointment, switching out the post and adding the jewelry I picked out (great selection, btw). In and out within 15 minutes. Great experience and I will continue to shop there for more.
