Took my vehicle in to get some battery cables changed. Took them 3 day for the to change. They never like to be upfront with you and give an estimated price in the beginning. Im never going to these rats again. And then the owner thinks its funny to make fun of dissatisfied customers online. Avoid these people. They are not professional.

Just got my Kia Sedona and Ford Fusion Hybrid fixed. The prices were reasonable, the staff communicated well about the diagnosis or potential diagnosis and steps to take to fix/address the issue.

Overall I’m very disappointed in my experience - paid over $1000 and the issues was not fixed. I generally do my own repairs and regret not doing so in this case. A DIY repair cost me $34 and 3 hours. What made the experience worse was that the broken part had actually been removed by Tierra Del Sol with no attempt to make a replacement. I’m only giving two stars because they did lower my bill by $400. Also, I received zero of the promised follow up; once I had paid my bill the communication stopped.

Absolutely top-notch service! Travelling through Alamogordo, our Suburban began overheating while towing our Airstream. I called and Cheyenne said they could likely look at it later that day. Alan followed up the next day with news that a new radiator was needed as well as some hoses, and valve covers were leaking oil. Luckily Alan was able to source suitable parts relatively quickly, while the technicuans did a terrific job of getting things done between their already busy scheduled jobs. My wife and I are thrilled with the honest and professional service we received. Highly recommend Tierra del Sol.

My son has a ranger with a 2.5L I four with a knock. I took it to Tierra Del Sol for an opinion from a trained and experienced ear. The diagnosis was as I feared, a rod and this vehicle needs an engine. I was pleased that they gave me a definitive answer I could use to make an informed decision on what to do. I really appreciate that they did me right with a reasonable, nominal charge. They did not take advantage of a possible opportunity to run up charges. I have never been up sold or pressured here.

Called Tierra Del Sol to take a look at my car for an issue and they managed to get me in the same day. The staff was courteous and helpful, the shop was clean and a good atmosphere. I appreciated them looking at my car on short notice, definitely will be coming back for regular maintenance.

Brought my car in two times to have overheating issue fixed both times was told it was fixed. Asked them specifically to replace the water pump which we believed to be the issue but they didnt. Thinking all issues were fixed took my family on a trip and the car overheats again! Will not be returning! Front desk staff was very rude as well

Customer service was rude over the phone and @ the desk. Had an appointment, waited 40 min. to be told they forgot to charge their equipment and wouldnt be able to perform a simple alignment. No apology or even a good bye. 10 of 10 would not recommend.

Excellent service everytime. Happy to take you home and come back to get you if you live in Alamogordo. Fuel pump went out. They got me in next day to replace fuel pump, fuel filter and flush the fuel line. Truck ran great. 2 weeks later it started getting very contrary and would sometimes start and sometimes not. Tierra Del Sol replaced fuel pump and filter again. 2 weeks later, same problem. Nothing showing up ok on dash or codes on computer. The outstanding employees didnt lose their patience and kept searching until they solved the problem. Wouldnt go anywhere else. Thank you for your excellent service. Ill be back

The folks at Tierra Del Sol are great mechanics and do honest business. I had my 2014 Ram that needed service; one of the mechanics noted that it was still under warranty and called to verify. They also put me in contact with a good dealer (out of the area) that would be better to do the fix. I appreciate the fair way they dealt with me. Its not all about the money for them.

A while back I took my car in for some maintenance. The work on my car was excellent and fast, for that I was very appreciative. The price was higher than some, but you get what you pay for and it was worth it. Unfortunately, their customer service was lacking though. When I dropped my car off the man that helped me was very friendly and made me feel at ease. However, I was given a ride by an employee so that I didnt have to wait in the lobby, that employee was polite enough, but had been smoking in the vehicle and tossed the cigarette out when I got in. Even though it was hot he drove with the windows down to air out the vehicle. I dont remember his name but his appearance was disheveled, he had a backwards hat on, and even though it was 8 in the morning, the van reaked of sweat and cigarettes.When I went to pick up my car it was a different man that helped me (Aaron). He was very curt with me, did not review my charges, the work done, or the results of my diagnostics. Basically he told me the work was done and handed my key. No thank you for your business, have a good day, goodbye, NOTHING. Initially he didnt even give me my receipt. Ive read the reviews and saw all the great things said about customer service and how he goes above and beyond, but this was not my experience and that is very disappointing.I did appreciate the other employee that helped me in the morning and I appreciated the ride I was given. I will return for any repairs needed based on the excellent quality, I hope maybe the customer service improves.

Best place in town. Friendly, professional, proficient. Very helpful, after taking my vehicle to them I was given a ride home. Got a follow-up call a few days after repairs. No other shop has ever followed up before. Thumbs up in all areas.

Rowdy was first rate in explaining all work, answering my questions and allowing me to determine what we were going to fix with the car. The work was outstanding. They are honest and up front in their dealings. In doing work on one car, they damaged the radiator. Rowdy called immediately, disclosed the error and told me we would be getting a free of charge radiator and he apologized because they had to order it, delaying the work by a day. I would highly recommend this outstanding business and they will have my business as long as I have cars.

As a professional in my field I respect expertise, and listen to those who have it. As others depend on me to be accurate about what I know, I expect the same of others. My husband and I were 1400 miles away from home when our brakes began making a noise. The staff were all very professional yet friendly. They gave us a same day appointment. They checked the car for free and then told my husband the problem along with a reasonable estimate for repairs and the option to get it fixed elsewhere. Because of this great first impression, my husband chose to get it repaired here. They were able to fix it in just a couple of hours. We had piece of mind it was fixed well. If you are from out of town, these people will treat you right.

Tierra Del Sol has a great reputation here in Alamogordo for a reason - they genuinely care about their customers! I have been taking my vehicles in to this shop since being stationed here in 2015 and they have been honest and professional every single time. Not only have they kept my old Honda in good condition even after 145,000 miles, but they have helped my wife and I diagnose potentially dangerous problems with lemon vehicles we have unfortunately (and perhaps stupidly) purchased from shady used car lots. (((Long story short - Make sure to fully clarify if your total estimated price is before or after the services they already did)))Will try to make story short ~Went here because of the raving reviews and signs that say best rated shop in town (Im from out of town, so its difficult to pick) Had an airbag light checked out, they told me it was the front bumper sensor. I asked how much it would be to fix, they said $370. I said great! Please let me know if costs go up, or if you run into anything else (I have an older car)It was done very quickly (awesome) and I came in the office to a bill of $533. My wife and I paid and walked out, but wife told me to go back in and ask for an explanation for the higher bill. After a lot of talking with the front desk women... and honestly no explanation I was told I would receive a $65 refund.Honestly, more than expected. Was happy with this, and walked out. (Even though it was still *well* over the estimated price)I was called the next day and asked if everything was working still (Which is a really nice feature of this shop) I said yes, just still disappointed with the final cost being over the estimated price. He said Actually, we have another refund for $40, come in so we can run your credit card for refundI said cool! Sounds great to me.Went in and figured out the $370 was AFTER the diagnosis cost, so it was around $455 for the whole bill.Just felt like the classic *mechanic charges what they want* deal and left me feeling a little jipped.Overall fine place with timely service, but make sure to get full clarity of costs! Was not impressed they never said sorry for the mix up, or explained the mix up either... since it was a LOT of money i wouldve missed out on, if I didnt ask.****Additionally, their military discount is very appreciated, because they do not have to do that. Most service members take discounts for granted, thanks for the financial support!****

They really helped me out when my car blew a head gasket. They work with triple a so you can get a deal. Expect about $90 for diagnostics. I couldnt pay right away so they held my car for me for a few days free of charge. They were honest with me that my car wasnt worth fixing. Theyre nice and will try to help you any way they can.

Driving cross country on a family camping trip was a bad time for my front wheel hub assembly to fail. I used google to find a local shop, and was outside Tierra Del Sol at 7:45am. They were able to work me in, and before my kids and I could come back from breakfast, I got a call that the van was ready. The price was very reasonable, and the fact they had me on the road at just at an hour was incredible. I dont live in NM, but if I did, Id be taking my vehicles to this shop. They were very courteous, price was good, and their efficiency was incredible. Needless to say, we were able to enjoy the rest of trip thanks to Sierra del Sol! Thanks again!!!!!!

A friendly message alerted me to the fact it was time for an oil change. As a result they drew my attention to the fact that my front tires needed to be replaced and that they would be watching the fan belt that is showing wear and tear. I recently had air put in my tires at the place where I bought them and they did not say a word about needing tires replaced. I was planning a trip which might have resulted in a bad experience! Weve used Tierra del Sol since it was in Alans garage many years ago and never had a problem. Weve had friends/family passing through with problems that they have managed to work into a busy schedule so they could get back on the road. I like being given prices and options ahead of time and realistic repair times. We recommend to anyone new in town or who has problems with their current shop.

Doing a review because of how a friend of mine had a bad experience thats completely unacceptable. He sent his vehicle in for repairs and they were done, except the work was done poorly and the issue was not resolved and caused other problems. Needlessly to say you charged him for the second repair which is definitely not professional.

Not at all happy.Over-priced, and will not stand behind service given.I took my Mazda in to have both CV axles replaced. They charged over $350 for just the right one and could not get the left one freed from the hub. After beating on the left side, they were unable to replace the CV axle and were not able to put the axle nut back on. Telling me I should be fine, they would not accept responsibility for any damage that would incur due to this piece not being put back on. They quoted me nearly $1200 to replace everything on the left side. REALLY??? Kwik Lube quoted me $240 for both sides and labor... I should have taken it there. Sigh.Leaving, I am not satisfied with their work. They wont be seeing my business again.I will be taking my work to another mechanic that often fixes what Tierra Del Sol did not properly fix.

I took my truck in to get a 30,000 mile check up, which they said they checked my belt, filters and all fluids. They seemed trust worthy so i didnt figure i needed to check their work. I then drove cross country and wanted a quick check up/oil change when i got back. again they stated that they checked my belts/ filters and changed my oil. (even stating that the screeching noise at shut down is normal and not belt ware) My friend and I decided to paint my fender which required us to remove it (no joke 2 days later). When doing so i noticed a hydraulic fluid on the floor. We traced it and found a loos line right next to my oil tank (did they even change my oil?) if they did they would have seen this. with the fender off we started looking around. right away i saw my belt was in bad shape. all the ribs were cracked, looked like broken glass. This led to more looking. My radiator fluid was low as well, its not hard to reed. It was at the ADD line not at the FULL line. We pulled open the Air box and looked at my air filter, bad as well. I had been taking my truck there since December, so almost a year, but i will never go back there. How could some many things be bad just 2 days after paying $100 for a check up? Dont take your car/truck there.

Hit a semi tire while travelling with my family and had to stop in Alamogordo to get my car repaired. Decided to stop in to this shop and was rewarded with fantastic customer service and a shop that worked hard to get my car done. Cant thank these guys enough.

Ive done a lot of business with tierra del sol over the years. And Ive always been satisfied and had no problem referring others to their business. My issue is with the estimate. When you give a estimate it should include the tax and their mandatory diagnostic. When my boyfriend was quoted $288 last week and he gets a call on Monday saying his vehicle is ready and it will be $346. Thats not right. A accurate estimate was important. He wasnt paying for it I was. He injured his back and has been out of work and is a single father of 3, I just buried my mother and Im still getting over the cost of the funeral so a accurate estimate was VERY important. $60 dollars is $60. Please review the importance of a accurate estimate with April and that you dont know what people are going through. Ive mostly used Rowdy and had no issues.Thank you, Wendy Vogt

Weve used Tierra Del Sol for years (well before they moved to 1st Street) and have learned to trust them completely. When we have a vehicle in the shop I know that they will give it a good check-up even if its just in for an oil change. If they find anything they call to tell me if they find any problems. They have an estimated cost ready and will discuss with me how soon I need to fix each problem and how long it will take.We have taken used cars that we are considering buying in for them to look over and they are always completely honest. TDS Automotive is the best Auto and Truck repair shop around. Alan and Aaron are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They go out of their way to help in any way they can. Alan has ridden in one of my cars to help track down a bothersome noise. I have previously had experiences with at least four other shops in town and TDS is by far the best at what they do.
