The clerk who helped me was extremely knowledgeable of skincare products. I have sensitive skin, to the point where Kiehl’s has been the only thing that didn’t burn, and she was able to immediately show me two products that were natural/made for sensitive skin that she had tried herself. I think I’ll stick with Kiehl’s since it’s a little less expensive, but still wanted to shoutout to the staff for recommending a product that will be a good backup for my skin.

Got my hair colored at ulta and decided to give it a week to see if I would eventually like it. The stylist was very kind and did a really good job on the cut. Unfortunately I am not happy with the color. I’ve gotten my hair colored in balayage and highlighted many times to colors even lighter than this, I initially requested balayage to a light brown. When the stylist told me this would be impossible I said said balayage to Carmel, I guess this is Carmel. Im going to try to go to a specialist to get the color corrected. In any case, You can decide for yourself.

First time giving a review to Ulta reason because the cashier Cerena was very rude not only tours me but with an elderly woman who was in front of me. I don’t know if this lady woke up on the other side of the bed or either she hates job, but whatever the reason is that was not the way to treat the customers. I think the reason why she’s having a job is for the consumers who buy their products and she gets paid for helping and the least to be polite to others.

This was my 1st visit to the Ulta store because I usually shop online. I needed to color match a foundation so I visited the store to get some assistance. Store is super easy to find right in front of Southshore Plaza in Alameda. I went in to shop and was very surprised that I didnt get any type of help. I noticed quite a few employees walk by and assist other customers and look at me but never ask if I needed help which was the main reason for my visit. The store wasnt packed and considering I was there for roughly 20 minutes Im a bit disappointed especially for my 1st visit. I walked out with a few things but not confident enough to purchase what I intended to. I think Ill stick to shopping online.

Fast curb pickup service. Customer Rep was courteous, professional, requested ID, confirmed and placed purchase in trunk. This transaction was completed within 10 minutes.

Fabulous location it is clean & very organized. All the staff are amazing but I must give a special shoutout to Justin. He is such a people person, very informative about products always going above & beyond to make sure your satisfied with your purchases.

The line took forever. They made us wait longer, took someone from behind us sooner, because I had my 10 year old with me. They make you use hand sanitizer on the way in, which I normally like from a business, except that their hand sanitizer is heavily perfumed. I washed my hands 3 times when I got home and I could still smell it. It gave me a headache. The store was well stocked (unlike my last visit) and the checkout cashier was friendly. But I will still try to avoid this store in the future.

Got a last minute hair appointment. Tony gave me the most relaxing hair washing massage nearly fell asleep in my chair, and gave me a wonderful fresh haircut and blow out. My hair is so soft and shiny with awesome movement. Love my hair!!!

I suddenly recalled I had been to this store (2010) after reading a familiar review that prompted me to not return! No longer driving, I stopped going to S.F. Macys for skincare & born here I like staying in town for all shopping needs but I too unfortunately remember a negative experience so much like the review I read....at register with questions & to purchase but awful!I sure hope Ulta females have worked on improving their interaction skills bc Im serious about purchases, help, hair and skin!

Dropped in to get my brows waxed. They had a slot and the young lady was very through and professional. I replenished my brow mascara since they were having a special and the product is wonderful. Ill go back.

Right when I walked in they greeted me and asked if I would like sanitizer for my hands. Then as I was looking for my product a very nice girl introduced herself and asked if I needed any thing,she helped me get exactly what I wanted and I proceeded to checkout. I also recieved b Day gift and was greeted again with a great goodbye and a thankyou.😊😊😊

They limit access no trying on products but was so happy to get what I need. Sanitary and safe interactions.

I love makeup, skincare and the staff are extremely nice thats why I rate it five. The staff are very conscious of how many people are in the store thus they communicate with each other. If there are too many people at the checkout, they will take care of that immediately and I know it because I go there all the time. The store has improved in the past two years; they have all kinds of brands now anything from drugstore to high-end makeup and skincare.

Great place to get cosmetics. I go there every once in a while to purchase some concealer. Helpful staff and very organized.

The customer service sucks here. The employees at the register seem like theyre forced to be nice. Nobody greets you or asks if you need help looking for merchandise. Luckily I find things on my own.

I love going to Ulta vs. Sephora. I love going in the morning but yesterday I had to go in the evening to get my we done. I love my brow lady she is the best! If you are ever at Ulta please visit the benifit bar. I am a loyal customer. The only thing I did not like was the cashier trying to charge me 69 dollars for my wax. I am not sure if she is a new employee.

Came into pick up a foundation and left without speaking one word to the associates. I felt like they were only excited to help girls who buy $100+ in products. To top it all of my mom was accused of stealing a highlighter (from target) because the alarm turned on as we were walking out. Which is totally understandable but I showed them the sticker and they insisted we show them the receipt. I guess a target sticker isnt enough proof.

Nice people, mostly friendly. Lot of choices to browse. I wish they did samples; I had to take stuff back, what a waste, which increases the overall price of everything. The do carry good products too.

I just recently purchased some eyebrow pens and one of them came in a box. Since they have security I didnt bother to open it to check if the pen was inside. When I got home and opened the box there was nothing but a piece of paper. That was definitely a shock. Luckily I called the store and I was able to come in next day and return it. The point is, it was a waste of time for me to come back specially since i have small children. The clerk told me I could check inside the box next time, which I dont feel comfortable doing. They should have the register clerk opening and checking these products before they leave the store.

My first time in this location. Customer service was lacking. Stood in line with two cashiers at register. While one was assisting a customer, the other cashier walked away, casually running her hands through her hair checking a schedule as if she was leaving the register. Keep in mind 5 customers were standing in line to check out. She walks back and waits, then calls the next customer. NO SENSE OF URGENCY TO SERVE CUSTOMERS!

Lots of brands to choose from. Make up brushes sponges make kits and lotionsThey have a salon as well. Big section of hair tools and products. Love the rewards they give and deals. Alqays check there clearance section you never know what yall find. Makes for Great gifts for the special someone who loves themselves.

More workers than customers on a random wed at noon.. but a clean decent ulta. Out of stock on more than one item I wanted but i guess i just like whats hot. But I do like this location better than the emeryville.

Today is my birthday, so I went to the new store at Southshore in Alameda, to the beauty salon, I wanted to get a hair cut, since they do not have any signs specifying you need an appointment to get service and they do not take walk ins, But the problem was the attitude and rudeness I got from an employee of the beauty salon section, she even exposed me in front of other costumer that were there, I am very upset about this kind of response from them, she could at least be more polite, but instead she made it laud and clear how very nasty she was with me. She offended me deeply and made me feel exposed and very uncomfortable.

Horrible. Only reason I come here is because this is really the only makeup retailer I like. This location in particular is god awful though. I hate going in alone because the african american female security guard would keep following me around. It was really uncomforting for me to shop here knowing that the security guard is practically breathing on my neck. When I come with my friends or my sister to be her stuff, she still is on my back. I hate it.

I went in today to look for several things and had a great experience. I spoke with several of the employees (3) and they all had great attitudes. One women in particular helped me the most which was Iris. I got help with exchanging eyebrow product, finding foundation, and looking over brushes (even though they knew i wasnt buying most of it today). I had alot of questions and was never rushed or brushed off. Shes awesome. If you need help I would recommend seeing her.

When in a couple of months ago and loved the experience in both the salon and the store.Very friendly atmosphere.As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile and asked if I needed any help or had any questions.I also had my Hair cut and colored by Sabrina.I absolutely loved my hair cut and color.Thank you Sabrina you are very talented.

I’ve been a valued customer at this location and a beachwaver curling iron (which is basically a curling iron with unnecessary bells and whistles) i purchased from alameda ultra stopped working. I had only used it about a dozen times. I tried to return and was told they only had record of my transactions up to 60 days and couldn’t help me. It’s too bad she couldn’t see all the transactions I’ve made over the last 6 months because it was significant and my business is going elsewhere now. You need to stand behind your products.

The staff is great but they do not have stock and I for one think it is horrible.

Idk if its racial profiling or lack of training,but dont come here if you want to be harassed by the security (african american woman).My 12yr old sister and I came here on 1/28 at like around 7pm looking for some glitter and eyelashes for me of course but it was her first time looking at makeup and swatching stuff.The security guard totally ruined her experience.First time she passes by us she is on her phone like unless your job is in an office or making phone calls why are you on your phone sis???so unprofessional!!!wouldnt do that if your boss was around i bet!Then we head over to the other side of the store for nyx .Thats when we realized we were being followed.I told my sister to stand still literally and she had the nerve to even walk in front of us slow I mean SLOW AF LIKE NOTHING.I decide to try to go in many directions on purpose for a cool minute then I gave up.The other few employees were busy so I ddnt say anything.Also was going to record but i was on 5% and needed my phone to go home.Anyways,im not the only one.Go on yelp to find other reviews about their harassment experience too!!!Im going to call who ever I need to to get this chick under control.I hope she gets the same treatment,Im truly hoping its not a racial profiling thing because im latina and none of us should be treated that way.

Was followed to my car by a security guard, I was made to go back into the store to have my bag searched. I was treated like a criminal for their mistake (a sensor wasnt removed), no apologies were given. So rude, absolutely humiliating. I will drive to Emeryville Sephora from now on.I will never give this company my money again, they are completely unprofessional.

This store stereotypically targets you for the clothes you are wearing or your appearance. They follow you into the store and pretend to be restocking shelves when theyre just making sure you dont steal anything. The service is terrible, just the other day I went in and looking for Anastasia brow wiz. I asked 2 employees for help on where in the store they were and neither of them bothered to just point. They arent friendly at all unless you go towards buying the expensive items as if they worked on commission. If Im buying a $2 lip liner theyll completely ignore me however if I go for tartes $30 pallette they love me. Terrible store.

I went into this Ulta store on Thursday and planned on purchasing my usual foundation. I was approached by Tanchona. She asked me if I needed help. She was such a sweetheart and was very helpful. She introduced me to the brand new foundation from Bare Minerals, BarePro. I told her I like my foundation and I dont want to change it. She was very polite and extremely patient. She ask me to give her a chance to apply the new Bare Pro foundation on my face and I agreed. I was so pleased with the foundation. Tanchona picked-out a prefect shade for me. The foundation feels like velvet, pleasingly smooth to the touch. Great coverage, too! I am hooked on BarePro. Thank you Tanchona. I want to also mention the staff behind the counter was friendly and efficient in ringing-up my purchase. Thumbs up for thisUlta store.
