So many of the Bay Area bike shops feature knowledgeable staff, great bikes, and perks of buying through their store like free tune-ups. Cycle City goes above and beyond by offering even more - education. Their staff has patiently taught me so much about my bike, cycling tips for the bay area, and biking in general. 10/10 would recommend!

Great shop. I was on a bike trip on a borrowed bike and having shifting problems. I called Cycle City and they said bring it right in. They not only fixed the shifting issues while I waited, they also corrected a few other minor issues. Thanks to them Im back on the road.

A neighborhood bike shop with a nice personal touch. I recently took my Gary Fisher 29er (which I purchased there years ago) in for a quick look at a disk brake issue, and Ellis (sp?), who was working out front when I walked in, not only fixed my disk brake within minutes, but also proactively took care of another issue on my bike that he noticed without my asking. Thank you, Ellis, for excellent customer service.

Small store with a somewhat limited selection; but the awesome service and amazing customer care make this place an exceptional neighborhood bike shop! The store reps/mechanics are friendly, courteous, and efficient. Unfortunately parking can be limited and is a hassle sometimes but at least its free. Overall this place is definitely a top choice for your neighborhood bike shop.

When my frame was cracked, and I thought I would have to throw it away, they steered me to a guy who could fix it! When they spent time helping me chase down a creaking noise, and when It turned out to be something I could replace easily on my own, they werent going to charge me anything! I practically had to force some money on them. Theyve got a loyal customer in me for sure! 😁

Friendly and great service. Worked with me to diagnose a tricky brake issue that ended up with a warranty repair. They could have made the argument that the bike shop that built my bike made an error, but went with the warranty assessment and saved me some cash. Overall, great crew to work with!

There are many bike shops in Alameda, but this is my favorite. It is a big wide open space, and they keep it really clean and functional. The guys working there were all helpful and not at all pretentious when we were wanting to buy a chain but couldnt recall the speed of our bike. Will be back for sure!

Cycle City provides the same good customer service, during the pandemic rush season, as they always have.Another bicycle shop, where I bought my bike only two years ago, gives me an appointment 50 days out, for a ten minute job. Cycle City takes my bike in and completes the same ten minute job the same day.All bicycle shops have been very busy during the pandemic, and CC has not forgotten the needs of their clients during this time.And, by the way, CC only charged me for ten minutes of work. They havent inflated their prices.Im happy to recommend Cycle City for fair pricing and good customer service in normal times, and in trying times too.

So, I have had horror story bike builds, which I carry with me forever, from a place in S.F. with the reverse name ;) but I was cautiously optimistic because the painter Cycle City folks recommended (D&D Cycles) and the work they did on some wheels gave me the much needed confidence for the full bike build. I heard Josh, the master mechanic, was meticulous. That is an understatement. He’s a machine; in a good way. No bolt goes unchecked. He and the whole Cycle City crew are real pros, steeped in years of expertise and real thoughtfulness in their customer service approach. Thanks for your professionalism. See you for the next one! My seven year old grandson had crashed on his bike and broken his front reflector. His bike also had an eerie looseness at the stem. We took his bike in to Cycle City and they had us back on the road within the hour. The gentleman who waited on us was very friendly and knowledgeable.

This is a great local bike shop. The inventory is not huge but the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. They have a small selection of great bikes and accessories. If they had larger inventory it would be 5 stars!

What do I like about Cycle City? Everything. They have great products. There’s something for everyone, from a racer to a cruiser, and a range of prices. I’m just a weekend warrior, but I never felt like I was “beneath their notice.” From day one, I got the best customer service. The technician listened well, picked out the right bike for me, made some modifications, and I still use this bike years later. I can get a courtesy tune-up annually, and a comprehensive tune-up when needed for a reasonable fee. Over the years I’ve returned to the store for this and that. Staff consistently helpful, knowledgeable, give me undivided attention, and spot-on advice. As we all know, there’s a ton of great bike shops in the Bay area, but Cycle City is a cut above.

A few weeks back was my first time walking into Cycle City after a friend of mine had recommended this shop. I was shopping for a new road bike for commuting purposes and wanted to learn more about the different options. Well, I cannot overstate how incredibly pleased I was with my first visit to Cycle City.David is an employee of Cycle City that has a genuine passion for biking of all sorts. He spent over an hour explaining different bike styles and answering questions (and I had plenty). Not once did he seem annoyed or that he had something better to be doing.The other two employees Ive interacted with since making my first TREK Checkpoint SL5 purchase have been nothing short of solid. Heck, theres even a 17 year old kid in there that upholds the stellar reputation of this shop.It is very apparent that this bike shop is the gold standard in the East Bay. I would HIGHLY recommend this shop to anybody. Its simply that good.

Friendly, personalized service. Excellent knowledge base. Equally attentive to beginning, moderate (like me) and super-skilled cyclists. Quick turnaround on repairs. Dont push stuff on you you dont need, easy place to drop by and ask questions or just get something fixed. They enjoy cycling and want to share it. I had some health issues that had stopped me riding for a while, but they helped me get back out there with a better bike and seat adjustments. Great selection of new bikes but I have been able to hold onto my Trek hybrid for a while thanks to them.

Dropped my bike off for a tune up. Upon leaving my bike I was told to come back the Friday after any time after 1:30. A week passed and I went in to get my bike and work hadnt been started on it. I took time off work to drive over to pick up my bike at the scheduled time. Inconvenient waste of time and fairly in professional for how much I payed to have the time up done. Will seek another shop next time.

Went in and basically said Im looking for a bike and Harry, an employee, told me everything from the ground up. No pretension. I highly recommend this bike shop. My Fiancee and I bought bikes there the day of. I am not stupid enough to just buy a bike without research prices so I know this place was worth the time and money.It isnt the biggest store on the block but they sure are friendly and knowledgeable. Check it out.

I bought a Trek Checkpoint SL6 gravel bike. I test rode a Checkpoint SL5 first and really liked it. But wanted to upgrade to Ultegra components and a different color. David ordered the SL6 for me had it ready in less than a week. Josh did a great job building the bike and David went through everything I needed to know and made some minor fit adjustments matching the measurements frommy other bikes. They gave me a good price on the bike and discounted some accessories. I highly recommend Cycle City. The last bike I bought there was a Trek SL2200 in 1998. I’m a happy customer, can’t wait for some decent weather.
