Dropped add my 20hp Mercury in March for repairs. Have called many times Bob says he will look into it and call back . Still waiting for the call its been six months . I still know nothing of my motor.NEVER TAKE ANYTHING THERE8/3/21

I brokered a boat with them. Before the boat title was transferred they gave it to the new owners along with the plates on my trailer. I have been waiting over three weeks to get my plates back. First off the boat should not have been given to the new owners without title transfer. Also at that time the boat which I still owned was being used with my plates and my insurance. At any point per my contract I could have canceled the brokerage which he would then have to tell his new customers they have to give the boat back. Or if I didn’t own the boat or if it was stolen they could all be in serious trouble. They don’t seem to know what they are doing and could get a customer or themselves into some trouble. I just want my plates back so I can end this experience.

I had an awful experience. I had a Diabetic attack, had to pull over for safety on S.Main & shove food in my mouth when I pulled over a man and woman started screaming at me to get off private property. I explained my diabetes & I would leave in one moment they called the Shariff & continued to yell awful things.So sad, what is wrong with these people.?

I asked them to adjust my idleThey called meAnd told me it would be $600Because they had to pull the carbs and clean themI told them no Took it to someone who used to Work on boats he adjusted idle screws and in 4 minutes the motor ran great I will neverGo there again and Recommend no one go there

Honest would recommend this place to everyone. I had a great experience buying my first boat! The whole staff was so helpful and so willing to teach you (except bob) jk. They make the process fun! Plenty of jokes and so willing to make sure your boat is water ready and fixed any problems we had right away with no problem! Wouldn’t suggest to go to any other boat shop except portage marines!!!!!

I bought a 2019 Tahoe from Portage Lakes Marine and the staff was exceptional. It was a very enjoyable experience. Joanne was awesome to work with! Excellent communication and provided great customer service. I had the pleasure of meeting Don for service on my boat (due to muskrat nibbling on some lines to battery) he was there in minutes and problem solved! They provided me with all of my safety gear and got me out on the lake safe and sound! A great little nautical gift shop too where I got a jacket and hat that says its better on the water PLX. Thank you all for my Ohio State boat!

We bought a used pontoon boat from a private seller that had some ongoing engine issues. Portage Lakes Marine followed their protocol and believed the boat was fixed. When it wasnt, they immediately contacted the manufacturer and received approval to replace an expensive part even though the motor was out of the warranty period. Scott was great to work with given that we didnt buy the boat form them and this was our first interaction with them. Highly recommend Portage Lakes Marine!

Brought my bass boat for diagnostic check 2 weeks later got a quote my tech for $900 said the ignition switch box was bad i asked him price for box and he said $400 plus he will need to check gear oil change all plugs which was replaced last year told him that but insisted changing it still anyway to make long story short wanted to charge me for work that was not necessary . i checked price on ebay for ignition switch box and was $40 brand new!! will be taking my boat elsewhere this coming tuesday for simple work..not good to treat navy veteran this way will not be reconending this place to anyone of my veteran friends.

Great guys, always do the job right in a reasonable amount of time.

Told me it would be a 2 week turn around to fix a simple gas garage problem on my boat. 15 days later, still no call, so I called the store. Said they wouldnt be able to look at it for 3 more days. Took my boat out. No apologies or anything. Spend your money somewhere else, this place is not run well at all. Should have listened to other reviews

Dropped my boat off to see what was needed to hook up controls. Said they were to call before any work was done to the boat to get the ok. Got a call next day with a quote for the work needed. Then proceeds to give me an invoice for $168.00 because the decided to test the engine and changed the lower unit fluid which I never asked for and had planned on doing myself. I was warned by a few ppl to not take my boat there but being close I thought I was safe. I would never take anything back there.

Took my boat in three weeks ago to have it looked at, I was told I would recieve a call in one week. I never recieved a call so I stopped to see what was going on after waiting an additional two weeks and a day from original quited time of one week. Very disappointed with the service I have recieved thus far.

Horrible i bought a boat there this year and it never ran,i took it back 3 times and it still dont run...so the boat i bought for me and my son is still sitting broke down

I took my boat in because there was a short in the electrical. He told me he would fit me in and give me a call. I called in a week later and was told he would get me in the following day. I stopped by two days later and the store was closed and never received a call. They identified the issue but were not able to fix it two weeks later.
