We are building a house in the area and came in over the summer for an appointment with Carol. Working with Carol has by far been the easiest, most efficient and best process out of this whole homebuilding process. (and she dealt with our kids that day as we didnt have childcare!) We have spoken with her recently as well to discuss the installation of your products and one of our choices being out of stock. Each time she has been incredibly polite and responsive.Building a home has been a stressful process (particularly in these times) and I cannot stress enough how much I appreciate Carol and her efforts.

I knew it would take more than 3 hours to select all the ceiling fans and lighting fixtures for our entire home (both exterior and interior). Loren dedicated her WHOLE DAY helping us to get the perfect lighting for each area. For certain lighting options that were above our budget, Loren proactively searched for alternatives to meet our budget that looked as great as the original picks. We thank her for her professional knowledge, time and patience. It was such a pleasant experience at Porter Lighting. Loren, thank you. Lastly, we also thank our designer Gretchen who spent the whole two weeks with us designing our home to be a beautiful and enjoyable space. We are so blessed to be working with these exceptional professionals for our home project. I cant wait for the construction to begin now.

If you want to be ignored…this is your store!I had plenty to buy for my new home and I walked around for 10 minutes waiting to see if anyone would even acknowledge me, including the receptionist who was doing nothing. When we finally asked for assistance we were told they are too busy and we needed an appointment. From what I could tell there was an employee on the computer not helping anyone! Rude and snobby! They lost thousands in business from me. I’m sure another store will happy to help me.

I had an excellent experience with Porter Lighting. They are professional, organized and endless options. I love that their design gallery is organized by type of light fixtures in different rooms and that is not even half of their options. They have countless books with options that are not on display, so it is a guarantee to find what you are looking for. It didn’t take long for the light fixtures to come in and they kept me updated on the process. Once they arrived, they were scheduled and installed within less than a week. The installers were very nice, professional, quick and did a wonderful job. The lights are great quality and look beautiful!

Service is excellent. Lighting is very difficult but Loren made is easy with her help. We were scheduled for a couple of hours, but ended up having her help all day. With so many options, and rooms to pick for, we couldnt have done it without AA Porter.

If you decide to order lighting from this company, do NOT work with Loren. She is the most disorganized person there.We were assigned to work with Loren to pick lighting for the house we were building. We were given two hours with her. During our two hours she was pressuring us to hurry to pick lighting. She also wasnt able to give us pricing on some of the lighting we requested info on. She was rude and snippy with us at points while we were looking which was unnecessary. Theres no need to get mad at the customer because you dont know the answer to something. Just go ask or look it up! We went home frustrated and a bit upset. We told her we were going to make some changes to lighting so please dont submit our order.Fast forward 3 weeks and we are still on the hunt for lighting. We get an extremely rude email from Loren telling us she needs our lighting order now. Hello! Its our house! We will order our lighting when we are ready! Loren decided she wasnt going to wait and submitted our lighting order without our approval. We never gave a verbal or written sign off. She literally said she placed the order. But heres the problem....the order was incorrect! Lights were included on the order that we didnt select and ones we selected were assigned to the wrong rooms for installation. When we addressed this with Loren she told us there would be a cost to change these items. A cost?? YOU put lights in the incorrect spot and included incorrect lights.Two months after we had submitted our (correct) lighting order, we hadnt heard from Loren regarding the lights. We sent her multiple emails and would go weeks without a response from her. She did leave us a lot of voicemails about lights but it was for the wrong house. She would leave a message for Savannah and another girl. Shes literally so disorganized.We finally demanded she give us updates on our lighting. We had to get our builder involved to contact her because she wouldnt respond to us. She responded to our builder and said she needed to check on the status of some lights. She also tried to blame us for the delay in lights being available. She said because they were ordered so late (we ordered in Nov, its now February), they were on delay. But what confused us is to why we werent notified months before that our order would be delayed. She had over 3 months to contact us and tell us lights would be delayed. Our builder told us she didnt actually submit the lighting order and she is the one that caused the delay.When lights and fans finally started to be installed in our house the fans were set at incorrect heights. We even checked our order document and it didnt match what was installed. We ordered black fans and Loren had a brown one installed in one room. We also ordered dimmers on two lights and those werent installed. She had told us all lights were installed. However thats not the case. We were missing one fan, two outdoor lights and our main entry chandelier. We are still waiting on updates on our missing lights, but per the usual Loren will not respond to us. The only response we ever get is that she needs to contact the manufacturer. Ok, so do that! This was not an enjoyable experience.Update: we got a call from the owner and he was incredibly rude. He told us the delays were our fault because we changed our order 3 times. Of course thats what Loren told him. He never bothered to ask us what happened in our view.....which is that we never changed the order, we asked for it to be corrected with the correct lighting. So each time we pointed out errors in Lorens paperwork, she called that a change on our end! So we got slapped on the wrist for HER error. Im sorry but blaming the customer for your employees error is not how you do business. Then yelling at the customer because you are frustrated, claim to be sick at home with covid, etc is not acceptable. Sick or not, you should never yell at a customer for your errors. Stop making excuses and find a solution

Dean and Sandra Porter are no longer with Porter Lighting. The service has gone way downhill to the point where I was made to feel like an inconvenience as a customer. The salespeople are rude, uncaring and have poor communication. Dont trust old reviews; this place does not deserve your business!

I had a phenomenal experience with Susan at Porter Lighting! These people are amazing and will be my “go to” Lighting supplier from now on! Super fast, super friendly, excellent customer service, and amazing high end selection! Susan has accomplished the impossible and found a match for my existing discontinued lights. I’ve been searching for weeks : one trip to Porter Lighting I was done within minutes! I Give Ten stars!

We purchased the light fixtures for our house from Porter Lighting several years ago. Sandra was so kind and patient as she guided us through the process of choosing the light scheme for our home. Just recently we had to replace the some exterior light fixtures (due to storm damage). Sandra was again very helpful and great to work with.

The communication between the salesperson and customer was terrible. She promised to call us when items came in and never did. We had to keep checking ourselves. After waiting 2 weeks on some items, we called to check on the order and she said somehow the lighting company did not get her order so she had to reorder!! The lack of communication continued. I called and finally asked the receptionist if she knew if the items were in. She said they were. I told them they better have them ready because I was coming to get them. We spent over $2300 on lights and fans. Once they got our money they forgot about us! Do not shop there. They are so disorganized!

The communication between the sales person, Susan was very poor! Usually we waited as long as a week for a return call. We had a home warranty from Ron Davis homes and Porter lighting, both of whom did not honor some of the exchange items and installation. I even called Porter to reach the sales person to communicate my dissatisfaction with their poor delivery of service. To my dismay, the owner of Porter called me back on my cell and basically said, we dont appreciate your complaint, dont need you as a customer, (can you imagine) and hes not honoring my warranty...If asked, I would never recommend Porter lighting company to anyone!
