Recently I took my grandson to Encore Music. It was his 11th birthday and he was wanting his first guitar. Juan welcomed us into his store and questioned my grandson so he could help him select one that would fit him and be at his learning level. He was extremely helpful and even printed out some sheets so my grandson could start learning how to play his new guitar. Thank you so much for your help and patience in helping us select the PERFECT guitar. We look forward to enrolling in guitar lessons this summer. I am loving the guitar.

I stopped by Encore the last week of March looking for my “first” guitar after a 10 year break from playing. First impressions of the store were good, and Juan was super welcoming when we walked in.Abilene does not have much by the way of big music stores, but Encore checks most of the boxes on what you’d expect and want in a successful venue. They carry a variety of instruments, kit, and accessories, and the staff are very knowledgeable!After some time with a couple of guitars, I settled on an Alvarez AGW77 acoustic electric. The fit and feel are awesome, and Juan did a magnificent job setting up the action. For those who don’t know why this is important; buying a guitar you can play first, gives you an idea on its feel, sound, and playability. The best part about buying from Encore vs online, is the fact these guitars are set up before going on display. What you see, feel, and hear is what you get!After a month of playing I can’t put this guitar down.Juan, thank you again for the excellent experience and top notch customer service. Encore music / juan is a very professional guitar tech and has very cool new/used gear and is just a cool locally owned music store ....i am a musician of 35 years and juan is a very skilled and knowlegable guitar tech...who can repair, modify, or just string and set up any guitar...the reason he is busy is because he is in demand and can only do so many per day, have patience and you will get a professionally tuned and set up instrument back...

I recently made an out-of-state purchase a vintage guitar from Encore Music. I just want to say that Juan was exceptional to deal with during our exchange. What I most appreciated was what I least expected: exceptional care in my understanding of the purchase, in the set-up of the expensive guitar I was buying, and in the careful handling of the shipment.Juan went over and above the call of duty - including sending me a video of the guitar in action where he carefully explaining all the issues that were discussed. He also threw in a few thoughtful perks in the guitar case, which were as unexpected as they were appreciated.I would buy from him again and again if I lived anywhere near Abilene.

Popped in to the shop for some strings, and ended up taking a few things with me when I left. Juan is a great guy and made me a heck of a deal on a Boss pedal. Very nice shop. Not big, but that’s what I like. Nice stuff and very fair prices, especially on sets up! (Even offering same day work if you need your instrument for something sooner than the 5 day standard turn around) I watched and listen to him while giving a lesson to a young girl. Good teacher, very patient. I highly suggest stopping by, and often. It’s one of those shops where you never know what you’ll find. I’ll definitely be back. Juan is amazing! I was playing a show at a close by venue. I had an issue with a rare custom guitar and he fixed it in 15mins! He saved me and I was able to play my show! So grateful for this shop!

Well. This guy here is so nice and concerned with what you need help with. Even when someone walks in. He helps you till your prob is resolved.or what you needed help ordering was complete. Its s nice comfortable setting to visit!
