Sam and Richard T. came out to my home within an hour of my call. They diagnosed the problem with my non-opening garage door, and fixed the problem within a fast time frame for what was wrong. Our experience with Overhead Door Company in Abilene, Tx has been great. Our prior unit installed in 1999 finally wore out and it had lots of use and served us well. We had to replace it with a new unit yesterday June 3, 2021. Our Installer was Sam. He is efficient, professional and a so kind and patient. He explained the new Unit, installed the exterior keypad, new inside master switch, programmed the new remotes and the built in remote in my car. He made the whole ordeal easy and pleasant. I highly recommend Overhead Door Company product and the Abilene location if you are in need of a new unit or service on a current unit. Their product and skilled technician/installation personnel are great if Sam is a representation of all of their employees. If given an opportunity...request Sam. My garage door would open only a few inches when I got home from work Saturday night and Monday morning I went to an inservice at work and told a coworker my situation. He suggested calling Overhead Door and I did when I got home. The receptionist was so helpful and said she could have someone over in 3 hours! Sam showed called to let me know he was on the way to fix my broken spring. He arrived and it was so refreshing to have someone so professional and competent. He went in the garage and he was right! He showed me I had a broken spring! He said he was able to diagnose my problem from my description of my problem! He had my door fixed within the hour! He took the time to explain how my door operated and what I need to do to properly maintain it! Able to get everything scheduled in a timely manner. A manufacturing defect caused a replacement of the power head. We were able to get replacement parts in and installed in short order. Sam is a great installer.

We had a wonder experience with this company. They came out very quickly to give us a quote and the requirements we needed to get the garage door installed. I purchased a home that had an 18 year old garage door opener. I wasn’t provided any remotes for the door, and the keypad on the garage had seen better days years ago.The people at the front desk not only helped me select compatible replacements, but also took the time to show me how to program the replacement keypad and remotes using a mock-up unit that worked exactly like mine!About a month later, a new malfunction appeared. I stopped by the office again and they made an appointment the very next day.Sam knew every component of my opener. Instead of replacing the whole thing, he replaced a circuit board and a few other components (that he had the foresight to keep stocked on the truck). Then he re-programmed my remotes, helped with my keypad, adjusted the force settings, re-aligned the overhead tracks, lubricated everything, and left me with a door that works like new for well under the cost of replacing the opener!!!The staff is direct and no-nonsense. From the front desk to the technician, they gave me the shortest distance between my busted opener and a fixed one. They did it when they said they would. And in my case, for under the estimate!

Purchased a new home that had commercial openers installed by overhead door Abilene. Kept having to reset openers myself every other month and began having to do it every week so I called overhead doors to see if they could come out and check what was going on. Took several weeks for them to come out. When a technician finally came out, he had brought the wrong latter so had to wait again for a commercial tech to come out. When that tech finally showed weeks later, I was told they were not installed properly from the beginning which was causing issues and fixed it. He told me it should be all good and covered under warranty and if it happen again to call again and they would come out to replace them. All good until I received a call saying I am past due on a service call charge and that I needed to pay it today. Pretty crappy after openers were install wrong from beginning and not once I was told it was not going to be covered by the warranty. if I would have known that I would have just researched and fixed it myself. Lady on the phone could careless about situation or what I was told. I would have even been ok splitting cost, but nope, ended up paying full amount. Definitely last company I would recommend.

My overhead spring broke, and I scheduled an appointment to have it replaced. I had already removed the spring, but did not want to risk installing it myself. I could not be more pleased with the work from Overhead Door. Mike called 20 minutes ahead of my appointment, showed up a few minutes early, measured and cut a new spring, and had it installed and parts lubricated quickly, yet efficiently and to perfection. Mike was very professional, gave me a few tips to keep the door functioning properly. I am glad I called. They installed two garage doors while I was away at work. When I got home noticed that while the garage door motor was quiet the door was very creaky going up and down and they came back and made it whisper quiet

Great folks that sell parts, in addition to garage door installs. I had to replace a bent section of track and they knew exactly what it was and the price when I walked in with it.

Doors are good products, but customer service in the office could be better.

They put my garage door in and when I called them for service about 2 years later they waited a full week to call me back . I got someone else to do it before they ever responded back.

Stacy, front desk receptionist, is rude and should not work in customer service. I have dealt with her 3 times now and the experience is the same. After going through a horrible experience with my garage door breaking unexpectedly and having to financially find a way to pay for this expensive event she doesnt make the experience any better. 3 months earlier they came out to fix my garage door for a different issue. Since it happened less than 3 months ago, I showed her the reciept and I asked if they could work with me and deduct when they came out to fix that issue on that door she said no. I asked if they have a military discount maybe to find some kind of alleviation from this big expense and again no. Finally, when asked about the warranty for the garage door and motor in a rude manner explains some of the details. She has no patience and is ready for you to leave the office so she can get back to whatever it is she was doing. The technicians that came out to my house and replaced the new garage door did a great job however, when you have someone that is so rude dealing with the customers money and any questions they may have makes the experience overall a bad one. This is my last time dealing with Overhead Door Company and its sad that their front desk receptionist can make the experience horrible for any other customers that come in.
